Mischief and AtomicBambi kindly dropped a couple review items on me and I loved them both.  Now that I am back I want to show these to you before I get back into hunting down freebies.  Although…there are a couple freebies in this post…you all know me, I can’t not include a good freebie!

~Janie Marlowe of Mischief sent me these adorable Bitty Bolero sweaters.  They are so cute and well textured and have prim cuffs, collar and waist tie.  They come in an array of colors and are only 150L per color!  I just love these for winter!
~The baggy socks are also from Mischief and are the November Group Gift.  I am not sure if previous gifts are available in the subscribo, but if not, hit it up anyway.  Janie sends really nice gifts frequently!
~The tank I put under the sweater is from Ohmai and is from the Starlust Garbage Hunt.  Look around the store for pieces of trash and you can find a bunch of color pack of these tanks for only 1L each.  I found 4 color packs. 
~The necklace and earrings are from Dark Mouse and are only 50L until the 30th.  This is part of the sale I blogged yesterday.  I really love these Moon & Star sets and it worked perfectly with this sweater.
~The new Sara skin is from AtomicBambi and I will be showing a lot more pictures further down in the post.  I just love these skins, they are so soft and pretty.  If you go for a hand drawn type skin these are totally for you!

~The body of the AtomicBambi skins are very soft and pretty.  I am not a huge fan of the nipples on this skin, but since I never get naked it doesn’t really matter.

… I’ll post my finds too!  Of course we both bought that amazing Tyranny skin, and I’ve wanted this Clawtooth hair since I first saw it on the feeds.   T.Z. is a newish store to me, and I love the cuffs on this Wooly Roll Neck Sweater.  The jacket layer has an odd band of white around the bottom, but you cover it with the prim piece so it won’t matter.  Tres Blah appealed to my inner (or outer) nerd with these “chunky chuck” glasses.   I thought the Milk Motion Plaid pants went perfectly with the sweater,  although, word of warning, the waistband on these lacks detail, meaning you need to cover it with a longish sweater or shirt Lastly, this is my favorite of Miel’s 50L Jewlery Offerings so far (even if I can’t wear most of it because of lack of attachment points – there’s a necklace and bracelett too).

Nem kell nagyon örülni, csak hétvégére. Nem leszek internet közelben sajnos. Köszönöm azt a rengeteg “érdekfeszítő” és “kultúrált” hozzászólást, amit ezen a héten kaptam. Hétfő reggel visszamegyek az állatkertbe és meglátjuk, mi változott ennek hatására. Az már biztos, hogy nagyon fognak utálni, de ez a legkisebb gond. Eddig sem kerestem a kapcsolatot velük, most meg aztán még annyira sem. Én is azt szeretném, hogy ez a blog szűnjön meg. De amíg az osztálytársak így viselkednek, ez nem lehetséges. Ha visszamegyek hétfőn sajnos minden bizonnyal új témákat találok még ide.

Olvastam az osztályfórumon olyan találgatásokat, hogy Kati blogja azért lett jelszavas, mert így védjük az osztályvideót. Ez nem igaz! Azért jelszavas, hogy az osztály nem olvassa többé a blogját, mert szeretné visszaállítani olyanná, amilyen az osztálybalhé előtt volt. Ezt értsétek meg, ott nem lesz több osztályjal kapcsolatos bejegyzés, ezért kár olvasnotok. Nem is lesz mit.

Nem értem HI hogy képzeli ezt? Azért mert OB ellen nem tehet semmit másokat fenyeget meg???? Hogy AH vagy megváltozik, vagy KR elintézi? Ezt még apám szerint sem teheti meg!!!! Ehhez nincs joga! Attól, hogy ő még nem R itt, attól viselkedhetne úgy, mint egy IFI. És nem kéne úgy tennie, mintha átlátna EI-n. Az a furcsa hírem, hogy egész megkedveltem K-t és egyre ellenszenvesebb HI. HI szart se tud EI-ről. És ha bántani meri AH-t én megölöm. Lefújom rovarirtóval .
Bocsi, hogy így írtam, de ha nem teszem EBI is bajba kerül. Szerintem elég könnyű kitalálni, hogy melyik rövidítés kit vagy mit takar, de ha nem kérdezd meg tőlem. Erről a témáról továbbra is így fogok írni, hogy HI EBI-re ne uszíthassa II-t vagy KR-t. És azt hiszem sajnálom a nagy részét, amit K-ra mondtam. Bárcsak segítene HI-vel szemben…

Áhh mindjárt Karácsony és én még meg se vettem egy csomó ajándékot. És pénzem se nagyon van már!! Agykatyvaszt fogok kapni!!!!

Ma péntek van, tehát CM!!! Istenem, már annyira nem bírok magammal.

So we are a little shorthanded at work, and today I am doing the westside route that Sae normally does. Well I’ve done this before, and learned very quickly that the sixth stop (way out by the ocean in Santa Monica) is not always required. We can call them on the phone from West LA and if they have nothing it saves a trip.

Yea.. So I called and stated the name of my company and was told they had stuff to pick up. 15+ very intense minutes later I arrived to find only a package for another attorney service. I can’t name names, but If we count the beats, my company would be “Pineapple Legal.” The other co would be “Fruit Legal,” way fewer sylables!

When I realized what had happened, I bit my lip, thanked the receptionist, and made to leave. “Are you sure you said Pineapple Legal?” she asked. I assured her that I know where I work. C’mon.. Fruit/Pineapple!? They are so different in length and rythm.

Talk about working harder instead of smarter.. plus I’m going back for a second trip to Beverly Hills now. Whoopie!

“Can you believe what Al Gore said on the front page of the Toronto Star yesterday?   You know, Al Gore, the guy who was VP under Bill Clinton for eight years. He actually said that the Alberta tar sands are a threat to human existence. I’m telling you, even the the word ‘Armageddon’ was in the article, although I don’t actually know if Gore said that specific word. It’s pretty amazing, eh?”

TONY
“Sorry Phil, what’s your point, if you don’t mind me asking that?”

PHILIP
“My point is that this is the same Al Gore who was the number two guy in the most powerful country on Earth for eight years straight and who is the winner — if you ask me –  of the 2000 US Presidential elections and, to top it all off, is a Nobel Peace Prize winner for his work on the environment and to top it all off all over again, he also has longstanding, and entirely warm ties to the current US administration. He’s has ‘tossed the gauntlet’ at Canada. I think he’s signalling that the US government will be playing hard-ball about the environmental consequences of the oil sands, and that’s going to  jeopardize billions of dollars and jobs in Alberta. You gotta realize that the folks who own and work in the sands are Harper’s biggest supporters. OK, so I don’t know exactly how this is going to play out but I think that this means Harper is toast. Finis.”

TONY
“So  … OK, you’re telling me that Gore just sort of slapped Harper upside the head in public by telling Harper’s big oil buddies in Alberta that their investments might end up losing them some money.”

PHILIP
“I don’t think I could say it better than that, actually.”

TONY
“OK, like the kids say: “‘Is this is a good thing?’”

PHILIP
“Holy smokes. You bet it’s a good thing.  I know I tell you this stuff all the time, even if it doesn’t get into the blog. It’s simple,man. I don’t think that Stephen Harper is good for Canada. I actually think he’s dangerous, maybe not him specifically but some of the people around him, that’s for sure. And that’s not a risk I want to take. I’ve got four kids and a mortgage … sorry, Tony, you heard all this stuff before. And now, he can’t even provide diplomatic cover for his oil buddies.

“Look, there’s a lot of people at the top of the Harper government who openly supported the Bush Administration, including even Harper himself for god’s sake. My basic point is that I’m telling you, if you give the Harper guys a majority in Parliament, all I can say is “watch out”, because it’s going to be a disaster. Environment, economy, you name it. Sure, I know that Ignatieff supported the Iraq War in the beginning. But c’mon.  At least Ignatieff had the huevos to own up to his mistake in public. And he didn’t support Bush’s other crazy policies the way Harper has. Heyman, everybody, including even smart guys like Ignatieff, they learn something when it’s the first time the situation has ever come up, like deciding to go to war in Iraq in 2003, for example. Let’s be honest. Quite a few Canadians supported the Iraq War in the beginning. Face it, when the guys who won World War Two [the Americans] ask us for military support, you at least have to give them the time of day, if you know what I mean.

Anyway,  at least Ignatieff took some time to think about how the actual Iraq War actually played out over actual time after it started, and he learned what the whole world also learned about the actual Bush Administration decision processes in regard to the Iraq War.”

Anyway, you know what I can’t figure out?  Somehow, I think people think that having the Liberals  in Ottawa for the next few years won’t make any difference.  Now maybe I’m missing something. If our PM and the US President are actually, true-blue, real-life friends — which you can see they are, you know, friends like you and me — then international negotiations about things like the oil sands will be better for Canada if Ignatieff’s the Prime Minister. After all, the top folks make make the final decisions, no?

You know, I bet that Ignatieff has the secret phone number for Obama’s Blackberry. And I bet Harper doesn’t.” [Note from Philip: I really have no idea if this is true.]

“And your point is …?”

PHILIP
“The point is, it’s weird. Ignatieff’s Liberals would do a better job protecting Alberta’s interests than Harper can possibly do. If that’s true, then Albertans should be voting en masse for Ignatieff. It’s weirdly simple, in a way.”

TONY
“So you think Ignatieff should be our next Prime Minister?”

PHILIP
“Duh.”

At the prodding of some friends I’ve been checking out some of the listings in the Destination Guide, and the Showcase (in the search box).  If you are a longtime resident who’s mostly oblivious to anything that doesn’t involve shopping or building, (ie: me), I highly recommend it.  Turns out, there are a ton of really interesting, elaborate, creative and educational sims out there.   Who knew?  Today I landed in Virtual Bucharest and enjoyed strolling around and getting the builder’s vision of that storied city.  And of course, I was wearing a few new things and a few freebies while I soaked up the atmosphere.

Hace unas semanas apareció Ikee, el primer virus para iPhone, el cual solo afectaba a los iPhone con JailBreak a los cuales se les instaló la terminal SSH y no se les cambió la contraseña. Por suerte, lo único que hacía era cambiar la foto de fondo del usuario por una del cantante Rick Astley y una frase que decía Ikee is never gonna give you up, haciendo referencia al gran éxito del cantante Never Gonna Give You Up. Afortunadamente, el “virus” se elimina cambiando la contraseña (por defecto alpine), y eliminando algunos archivos.

Parece ser que el autorr del malicioso programa publicó en internet el código de éste, pero para si ésto nos parece poco, también remató diciendo que próximamente habría un programa, más serio que esa primera version, y que su único objetivo era el de concienciar a la gente de la importancia de proteger su información personal a través de una contraseña segura (o eso dicen los medios Australianos).

Pero lo cierto es que poco tiempo después de descubrirse éste primer virus ha aparecido en algunos países otra versión de éste, denomiada Ikee.B o Duh, siendo aún “mejor” todo y aprovechar la misma vulnerabilidad. Por el momento se ha detectado que ataca a usuarios de iPhone que usan su terminal para operar por internet en un banco Holandés, mostrándoles una página como la oficial, pero que no hace más que robar sus datos y credenciales para más tarde poder acceder a ésta sin permiso de su dueño. Asimismo, también hay casos en Portugal, Australia, Austria y Hungría.

También es cierto que según una compañía de seguridad podría talvez funcionar como lo que se conoce por botnet, es decir, permitir el control remoto del aparato sin permiso de su dueño y/o usuario.

¿Solución? Debido a que és un virus de nueva aparición, no he encontrado por internet solución alguna. Recordemos que manipular el iPhone sin “permiso” de Apple anula su garantía.

Desde éste blog recomendar a aquellos que no hayan cambiado su password y que tengan JailBreak que no digan más la famosa frase de ya lo haré más tarde, puesto que entonces la expansión del virus será cada vez  más común y rápida.

Esküvőre készülődött a család. Az esemény különösen közel hozta őket egymáshoz. A legnagyobb örömben fogadták a következő boldog esemény hírét: a lány terhes. Irány az orvos: ő nem látja a magzatot, de az ultrahang mutat valami foltot, ami gyanús. Kórházi beutaló. A következő vizsgálatot már végig vérezte az aggódó anya. Nincs magzat, de a vérzés a vetélés előjele. Hátha kijött, de a biztonság kedvéért kaparás. Senki nem mond semmit. Senki nem tud semmit. Az orvos továbbsiet, amikor látja, hogy kérdéssel fordulnak hozzá. Idegtépő órák és napok telnek el, a kórterem pedig zsúfolásig telve óriási pocakkal örömmámorban úszó kismamákkal. Csak egy valaki gyászol. Bár az orvosok még mindig nem értik, a vérvizsgálat szerint a baba még ott van. De ez már nem ad reményt. Biztos elnéztek valamit, mondják, ezért újabb kaparás. Egy héten belül másodjára. Folyamatosan vérzik. Gyászol. Az egyik pillanatban azzal ijesztgetik, hogy nem lehet többé anya, a következőben azzal, hogy talán rákos. Fel akarják szabdalni a hasát, mert biztos méhen kívüli, de nem látják az ulrahangon. Csak úgy találomra, előbb-utóbb meglesz. Már túlságosan kimerült és szomorú. Nem akar mást, mint felébredni ebből a rémálomból. Ebbe a képtelen műtétbe is beleegyezne… Második hete fekszik bent. Nem eszik, nem alszik, nyugtatókat szed, mert eleve gyenge az idegrendszere. Még egy vizsgálat, nem várt fordulat.  Az orvosok és nővérek örömtáncot járva sikongatnak, hogy ver a szíve a babának. Megtalálták a méhben. Túl késő. A terhesség teljesen normálisan zajlott volna, ha nem kezdik el félválról gerjeszteni a problémát. Így kaptak egy magzatot, aki túlélt két kaparást, ezernyi tolakodó vizsgálatot és méhösszehúzó gyógyszereket. És egy anyát, akit úgy szétromboltak, fizikailag és érzelmileg, hogy nem tudja vállalni az anyaság feladatát. Az orvosok megjegyezték, hogy a beavatkozások nem számítanak a magzatnak, ha betegen születik, amúgy is beteg lett volna. Hányinger. Az anya meghozta döntését. A baba megerősítette ebben és támogatta. Ma reggel elvetélt.

Nem tudom, hányszor kellett összeszednem a padlóról az elmúlt két hétben a világ legerősebb és energikusabb emberét. Hányszor kellett feldolgozni a rossz híreket, hányszor kezdtünk reménykedni az állítólgos megoldások hallatán. Mert ezt csinálták: mézesmadzag-szakadék mélye-mézesmadzag-szakadék mélye. Már ha csináltak valamit: az idő nagy részében mi magunk, a semmilyen orvosi képzettségünkkel találgattuk, hogy mi a fene történhet.

Mindenki ismeri a magyar egészségügyi ellátást, nem érdemes beszélni róla. De a szülészeten anyák vannak, akik életet adnak, babákat hoznak a világra. Különleges bánásmódot igényelnének, mert félnek, óriási felelősséget vállalnak magukra, de tele vannak kétellyel és bizonytalansággal. Érzelmileg labilisek, ami a babára is kihat. Egy puha meleg szoba járna nekik, rengeteg szeretettel. Mint ahogy annak is, aki nem tudja végigcsinálni a dolgot és elvetél, vagy abortuszra kényszerül. Nem azért veszti el a babáját, mert ezt akarja. Meghozza a legnehezebb döntést a babáért, mert abban a pillanatban neki nem-megszületni a legjobb. Mindegy, hogy ezt a nő teste vagy az agya mondja ki. So, what have you checked off on your agenda today? Perhaps, it is better to ask, what have you listed on your agenda today?

Conscious breathing brings our present into focus. For me that is exactly what observing my breathing does. Nothing fancy. “Am I breathin’ ?” is my first self query. In, out, in, out. “O.K.., I’m good for awhile”, I confirm to myself.

Charlie Porter is a fashion features editor for i-D and writes for the Guardian. He was recently given a new manbag for his birthday and when airing it proudly in Canary Wharf was promptly accused of nicking ladies’ handbags. That’s not nice. At all. But he is obviously oblivious to the impact a manbag has on other men.

It was a disquieting and humiliating experience, this apparent fashion crime. Humiliating because first he thought I was a petty thief, and then he judged me as effeminate.

I found this image today on KATU.com accompanying a post about a cat that apparently caught the swine flu here in Oregon. Never mind the sensationalism and fearmongering of relating peoples’ personal pets to one obviously bizarre and isolated case of a cat catching H1N1, I think it’s hilarious that they point out that your pet pigs can catch swine flu.

This outfit has already been moved to the Dressing Room, where you can still pick it up for 1L, for a few more days and then it goes poof.  The gorgeous hair is a NEW Group Gift from Alli&Ali called Tamarra in Dark Chestnut.  The beautiful skin is from Belleza called Jesse Sunkissed 04 w/Cleavage.

The honourable men calling the shots at my place provide no funds for setting up geysers in bathrooms. As a result, taking a bath now is tantamount to merciless, homicidal self-flagellation. This is so because:

1. You gotta have a heating rod. Semester thodangumbo medichillel pinne kaashu marikkan paadu pedum. Who buys a heating rod in the late summer? So here I am, without one, mine having being stolen by faithful borrowers.

2. Even if you have a rod, you gotta have the time to stick it in the bucket, propped up on a piece of wood placed on a diameter.

3. Pinne ee bucket of water, a good 1.5 kg, athinem chumannu ponam, bathroomilekku.

4. Murphy annan’s rule: Let’s say you do pull up the straps and go through all the above bullcrap and get the bucket of hot water to the bathroom. There, right beside the door will be another red bucket, reserving a place for the retard with glasses who got up a fraction of a minute before you did. I mean, who gets up before 8 in winter, goddamit…

5. Let’s take this hypothetical situation further. On a day, when you do get to the tap, the thin envelope of warmth which clung to your body all this while is completely corroded in seconds by the nasty ["rheumy"] air, exposing you to the unforgiving, cruel cold. With no other choice, you stare at the steam rising from the bucket, and sigh deeply. Grab a mugful and let the oohh-s0fuckinggood blast of warmth energize your whole body. That would feel completely nice, but in 2 seconds the rate of cooling goes bonkers and things would start to go weird. Then onwards is this frantic madness of trying to keep warm and get clean at the same time. It’s when you towel yourself is when you go insane with the cold.

Once you’ve taken the bath everything’s all right. Slightly shivering from the jarring experience, you make your way back home, back to dirt and grime. But to repeat this whole circus routine on a daily basis just might turn me into Hannibal by the time the sem ends.

…. but I love them so, I just wanted to show you how I’m using them.  Friday is the best day, isn’t it?

Do all pregnant women become klutzes? And do they all lose their memories?  God I hope so, because then at least I’d have an excuse.

I’ve always been klutz.  It’s in my genes.  But things have gotten out of control.  As in way OUT OF CONTROL! Just to demonstrate the level in ineptitude on my part let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time there was a 29-year-old who used to be a ballet dancer, but all of that grace has since faded.  Leaving a very round and pregnant version of her former svelte self.   On this particular day she visited her obgyn for her monthly peanut parasite check-in, and like all the other visits was promptly asked to pee in a cup.  This was not the first, nor would it be the last time she would be asked to use her Olympic quality aim.  But this time she failed to factor in her ever-growing boobs and belly. Center of gravity…it has moved.  Everything was going well up until the point where the she managed to become tangled in her sleeve of her sweater. Flailing and swearing ensued as  cup o’pee went flying across the bathroom.  Without. The. Lid. Attached.

I’ll let your imaginations complete the ending of this story.  Suffice it to say it was NOT one of my finer moments at the doctor’s office.

On top of being a complete motor skills idiot at the moment, my memory is also complete crap.  I’ve got vet appointments, doctors appointments, and the list goes on and on, and I’ve messed up at least half of them.  It’s gotten so bad that the technicians at the vet’s office just laugh now when I call.  I may have forgotten Merlin’s tooth cleaning appointment about three times to date.  (Note: Foreshadowing for the day when I forget my kid at school.)

I started a Google calendar a long time ago, but the problem with my current phone the is that I hate the calendar function on it, and it’s a pain in the ass to use the itty bitty screen to log into Gmail every time I need to see anything.   And I’ll be honest I’ve had millions of daytimers or dayplanners and I never used them.  Something about updating them by hand just never stuck…although that could have been because I forgot that the daytimer was in my purse.  

I iz talented.

So I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my phone to the Droid.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this thing is as cool as all the hype.  Because as much as the iPhone is amazing I just cannot bring myself to switch to AT&T.  The Droid lets you sync with your entire Gmail account, so that’s pretty darn awesome in my book.  Not to mention that remembering things by google calendar is a matter of survival at this point.

Because really I figure the Droid is a lot hotter then eating ginko leaves or whatever that stuff is that improves your memory.
