What would you think if you suffered for days writing a descent text… some else uses that same identical text on his own website and pretends to be the legal owner of it?!

A long time ago, copyright was invented for musicians, artists and writers to stimulate creativity. Musicians were forced to come up with total different tunes, melodies and riffs. Media exists for a long, long time and you can find media everywhere and all around you… in newspapers, advertisements, posters, on television, no the radio and on the internet ofcourse! Due to this overload on media, it’s getting harder for marketeers to create new design, new concepts and new ideas.

Instead of creating totally new music, musicians e.a. started to build on exciting media and let themselves get inspired. There is a very thin line on what is copyright and what is not. Is getting inspired by another song and changing it into something else, illegal?

How to check duplicates of your content

Nowadays, there are a bunch of tools available to check on copied content from your website. One of the most common used is… Google Just copy some of the content from your website and use it as a search term. It will automatically provide you all the websites which use the same content.

Note to my students: this will be checked on your websites as well So if you quote someone, place the link to the qoute in your article.

And for all my happy students:

An important part of any customer database or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is being

An important part of any customer database or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is being able to handle the inevitable duplicate records. Here’s how to do it in WeCanDoCRM Social CRM.

First off, it’s entirely normal to get duplicate records as you bring contacts in from various distinct sources. If you’ve emailed someone then you’ll hold a record for them in your email software, but that could differ from the details you hold for them in a older customer database or the details tthey share on Twitter. Most CRM systems will update an existing contact record with new data you bring in, but only if it can be sure they are the same. If you have two different email addresses for the same person, it will mostly likely consider them separate people, even if you know they are the same.

WeCanDoCRM enables you to fetch contactlist from all over, such as Microsoft Outlook and other email systems, existing customer databases and social networks. It is inevitable that different contact details will be held for the same person, so we’d provided an easy way to bring all your duplicate contacts together as one, merging the most relevant details into a ingle contact record whilst deleting the duplicates.

Step 1:

Go into WeCanDoCRM, hover over the Contacts menu item and then click on the Merge link.

Step 2:

In the filter box above the Full Name column, type in the name of the contact whose records you wish to consolidate. All matches will come up in the results below.

Step 3:

Of the total results which match the name you entered — and we’ll show you ALL instances where that name occurs, not just duplicate records — tick the TWO records you want to merge together and click Next.

Step 4:

Select from the left hand and the right columns which versions of the specific contact information you want to retain in the final merged contact. Make it whichever information you think is most accurate. Any information you don’t merge into the central column will be deleted when the duplicate records are merged!

You’re done! You now have just one merged record for that contact.

You can repeat this as many times as you wish if you have many instances of different contact details for the same person; each time the merge will bring together the most relevant details into a single contact view.

You can give it a go yourself by clicking here, which will take you striaght to Step 2.

Your feedback welcomed, so let us have it below!

Hello everyone,

We are honored to announce our own CD and DVD printer and publishers . These machines are so amazing that can print and also burn a dvd , all with the same machine, computer-controlled. So basically you have the comfort of control from your desk, just click Burn, add the data to the compilation, click “Burn” and voila. Then simply add your picture or design, and click “Print” . What makes ours better than the competitor’s machines, is the better.. everything. Higher disc capacity, two independent rails for print head and disc picker instead of just one for both, so the load / unload time is 50% faster , and then it comes the printing throughout , also affected by the two rails, which increases to 50-70 discs per hour instead of around 40 for other products.

Also , we filled it with goodies, to make it feel like a regular printer, like for example the Job Status Monitoring. And to make it an outstanding offer, you’ll receive it with the Kiosk mode for free, which increases the capacity to 100 discs, and at a special price.

The Systor DiscMaster series is composed by one printer , 2 publishers with 1 burner or 2 burners , and also 2 Blu-Ray publishers, in the same categorization , with 1 Blu Ray Burner or 2 Blu Ray burners.

Limited offer, check it out now at https://www.duplicator4all.com/

Ever since I switched to Mac I haven’t had anything good to say about Microsoft. Microsoft finally opened up their first store, which might I mention is conveniently located next to an Apple store. As a matter of fact the plan is that all their stores will be conveniently located next to Apple stores. Fine I get it! competition, but whats up with the store though? Why does that Apple store have Microsoft Logos on the walls? I don’t get it? Cause Microsoft basically copied everything! The store layout! the furniture! the employee uniforms! the store opening ceremony! Like WTF!!! It’s literally a clone! I think the plan is they want you think you are in the Apple store and before you know it, coax you into buying a crap computer using price as their argument! This just proves that Microsoft is scared of Apple and can’t do anything but copy. I mean if you were actually better why would you mimic someone else? I think their little plan will back fire.. Steve Ballmer is an idiot!

Hotkeys are a subtle yet huge advantage to designers.Saving effort and time is necessary. Here is a

Hotkeys are a subtle yet huge advantage to designers.Saving effort and time is necessary. Here is a tutorial that shows you how to duplicate objects in illustrator FAST. There are pictorial examples below each step.

Copying and Pasting:

1. Before you can paste an object, you must first select and copy it. First select the object you wish to copy with the Direct Selection tool (V key). In this case, I’ve selected the orange man taped to the artboard.

2. Hold down CTRL key and push C. You’ve just copied it!

3. Hold down CTRL key and push V. As you can see, you’ve just pasted it! Example below.

OR while working in Adobe Illustrator you may wish to paste something directly above your object (CTRL F) or directly below your object (CTRL B). That is often necessary for making face-to-face duplictions in your workflow.

Duplicating:

Sometimes you may just want to have an instant duplicate that you are dragging to a separate location on your workspace. Simply hold down the ALT key and click/drag the object. How easy is that? I’m almost embarassed to call this a tutorial! Picture below for mental stimulation.

ALT + Click/Drag (In Action)

ALT + Click/Drag (Completed)

If you want to duplicate at exact horizontal, parallel, or 45 degree angles, hold down SHIFT. That is, ALT, CLICK/DRAG SHIFT. Hey, you wanted a challenge.

But if your at a party with your fellow computer design geeks, thats not going to impress them. If you want to be a real magician, push CTRL D afterward and watch the action you just performed become duplicated directly in line with your last duplicate!

Have fun duplicating! While your at it, duplicate yourself so you can take on multiple projects at once!

Strange Symptom of Running Out of Disk Space

Recently we had an issue with SharePoint Search that caused very large log files to be produced, eventually taking up almost all the hard drive space. Restarting the server (without yet knowing this was the issue) produced a problem wherein a custom top navigation tab on the MySite pages was duplicated, appearing twice side by side between the MyHome and MyProfile tabs. This navigation tab was created from Central Admin (Shared Services Administration> SharedServicesName> Personalization site links), and was not custom developed.

Since both duplicate tabs were fully functional (if quite distracting) I left them for the time being to find the cause of the trouble. Once the log files were moved and the drive space restored, a restart outside of production hours corrected the problem.

What do you Really Know about God? What can you Really be Certain of? We live in a World that has

What do you Really Know about God? What can you Really be Certain of?

We live in a World that has what seems like a million different idea’s about What God is Like. And with so many opinions, it doesn’t take long to realize that not everyone can be right; but the question is, how do we know who is wrong? Some say He’s a moody old man, some say He’s hiding in the Tree’s, some say He looks a lot like the genie from Aladdin, others say He’s not a He at all… but what can we be sure of?

Regardless of what Tom Cruise is saying, or the Book of Mormon is teaching, you can know that The Bible that has withstood scrutiny for nearly two thousand years, and continues to silence it’s critics & scoffers… says that everything you want to know about God, you can learn by looking at Jesus!

That’s what Hebrews 1:3 tells us; Jesus is the express image of the Father. It means the exact duplication; it’s actually the world they would use to describe the process of minting a coin (duplicating it). You would stamp the heated metal, so that each coin would be identical; because it was cut from the same mold. So too with Jesus! Everything we know of His heart, everything we read of His compassion, every time we see Him forgive and restore; we can apply those things to God who is not seen – because Jesus is the express image of the Father! There is so much you can learn about God that is concealed, by looking at Jesus who is revealed – just like if I were to conceal a coin behind my back and then show you another coin cut from the same mold; you could be sure about so much regarding that which was concealed, by looking at that which is revealed.

I wonder about people who Don’t Read of Jesus’ Patients with those who let Him down, who have never heard of His compassion over even those who nailed Him to the Cross; evidenced in His constant muttering, oh Father, Forgive them, they don’t even realize what’s really happening. I wonder what they think of God…? The only things they are learning about What He is Like is from what they see in you! …from what they see you do, how they see you respond, how they hear talk, when they see you seek revenge rather then extending forgiveness. Who is God according to Your Life’s Example!?

MULTIPLE IDENTITIES: What’s a Big Deal In It? The wonders of the underweb never cease to amaze

MULTIPLE IDENTITIES: What’s a Big Deal In It?

The wonders of the underweb never cease to amaze me some days. Not because of the devious goings-on that go on but because some groups are so blatant about their devious goings-on.

Need a passport? You might have visited http://www.new-pasport.org. [Google cache]

Allow me to translate:

Passports of the European Union

» Lithuania – 2500 euros without an advance payment and 2000 euros on an advance payment in 50 %
» Latvia – 2500 euros without an advance payment and 2000 euros on an advance payment in 50 %
» The Great Britain – 3500 euros without an advance payment and 3000 euros on an advance payment in 50 %
» Germany – 3500 euros without an advance payment and 3000 euros on an advance payment in 50 %

Driving licenses too:

Driving license of the European Union:

» Lithuania – 600 euros on an advance payment in 50 % and 800 euros without an advance payment
» Latvia – 600 euros on an advance payment in 50 % and 800 euros without an advance payment
» The Great Britain – 600 euros on an advance payment in 50 % and 800 euros without an advance payment
» Germany – 600 euros on an advance payment in 50 % and 800 euros without an advance payment

The payment methodology is interesting too: It’s cheaper if you pay upfront. If you don’t trust the document dealer you can opt to pay a little more in 2 Western Union payments, withhold half the payment by withholding the code need to claim the second transfer until your fraudulent documents arrive.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this operation either, they have some history on a .biz version of the domain too.

Almost a year ago the BBC broadcast a Panorama program whereby a researcher had purchased 20 fake or fraudulent passports, some of which were purchased at great personal risk to the reporter. You can see a clip of the program at BBC Online or the whole program here.

Here is a checklist of the factors that affect your rankings with Google, Bing, Yahoo! and the other search engines. The list contains positive, negative and neutral factors because all of them exist. If you need more information on particular sections of the checklist, you may want to read our SEO tutorial, which gives more detailed explanations of Keywords, Links, Metatags, Visual Extras, etc.

Another very important factor you need to check. 3-7 % for major keywords is best, 1-2 for minor.

Keywords in metatags

Less and less important, especially for Google. Yahoo! and Bing still rely on them, so if you are optimizing for Yahoo! or Bing, fill these tags properly. In any case, filling these tags properly will not hurt, so do it.

Keyword proximity measures how close in the text the keywords are. It is best if they are immediately one after the other (e.g. “dog food”), with no other words between them. For instance, if you have “dog” in the first paragraph and “food” in the third paragraph, this also counts but not as much as having the phrase “dog food” without any other words in between. Keyword proximity is applicable for keyword phrases that consist of 2 or more words.

10

Keyword phrases

In addition to keywords, you can optimize for keyword phrases that consist of several words – e.g. “SEO services”. It is best when the keyword phrases you optimize for are popular ones, so you can get a lot of exact matches of the search string but sometimes it makes sense to optimize for 2 or 3 separate keywords (“SEO” and “services”) than for one phrase that might occasionally get an exact match.

+1

11

Secondary keywords

Optimizing for secondary keywords can be a golden mine because when everybody else is optimizing for the most popular keywords, there will be less competition (and probably more hits) for pages that are optimized for the minor words. For instance, “real estate new jersey” might have thousand times less hits than “real estate” only but if you are operating in New Jersey, you will get less but considerably better targeted traffic.

12

Keyword stemming

For English this is not so much of a factor because words that stem from the same root (e.g. dog, dogs, doggy, etc.) are considered related and if you have “dog” on your page, you will get hits for “dogs” and “doggy” as well, but for other languages keywords stemming could be an issue because different words that stem from the same root are considered as not related and you might need to optimize for all of them.

+1

13

Synonyms

Optimizing for synonyms of the target keywords, in addition to the main keywords. This is good for sites in English, for which search engines are smart enough to use synonyms as well, when ranking sites but for many other languages synonyms are not taken into account, when calculating rankings and relevancy.

+1

14

Keyword Mistypes

Spelling errors are very frequent and if you know that your target keywords have popular misspellings or alternative spellings (i.e. Christmas and Xmas), you might be tempted to optimize for them. Yes, this might get you some more traffic but having spelling mistakes on your site does not make a good impression, so you’d better don’t do it, or do it only in the metatags.

0

15

Keyword dilution

When you are optimizing for an excessive amount of keywords, especially unrelated ones, this will affect the performance of all your keywords and even the major ones will be lost (diluted) in the text.
