I am very happy to receive the news that Silent Riot Entertainment will be premiering MonicaBlaire’s refix music video that I directed for “Material Girl” Thursday, December 3, 2009 at TV Lounge from 7-10pm!

Working on this project was absolutely great!! MonicaBlaire is not only an awe-inspiring performer BUT her performance is demanding! You have no choice but to indulge your attention and emotions as she delivers her battle cries on stage. Simply irresistible!

Yesterday, I asked a group of about 25 eighth graders in Detroit to come up with a word for each letter in M.I.C.H.I.G.A.N.  The number one word:  Motown or Motor City!! Automobiles was next.  I really wanted them to dig deeper.  Of course, Michigan is so much more than just music and automobiles, but guess what?  All I can think about is music-music-music.  Because I LOVE MUSIC!!!  This post goes beyond Motown Records (formerly known as Hitsville, USA) founded by Mr. Berry (GENUIS!) Gordy.  However, I don’t really want to “talk” about Motown at this time…perhaps later.

디트로이트에서 노래 잘 부르기로 유명한 만능 재주꾼 드형이 용산미군부대에

위문공연을 오신다는 소식을 접하고 나도 왠지 위로를 받고싶어서 찾아갔다.

특별히 성남에서 근무중이신 senior katusa  James Lee님께 에스코트 요청을하고

미군부대로 들어갔다.오랜만에 들어와서 그런지 미국의 냄새가 물씬 풍겼다.

일단 배가고파서 미국식으로 무언가를 섭취하자라는 의견에 우리는 anthony’s pizza로

향하였고 아주 큰 백인스타일의 피자 3판을 시켜 모두들 배부르게 먹었다.

나는 이상하게도 미국 하이웨이에 있는 휴게소에서 먹는 기분이 조금 들었다.

암튼 배까지 부른 우리는 슬슬 MPC a.k.a Main Post Club을 향하여 갔다.

예정보다 조금 늦은시간인 19시35분쯤에 공연이 시작되었다.라이브로 듣는

드형의 음악은 참 감미로웠다.밴드도 기본적인 구성에 좀 아쉬운면도 많았지만

그래도 또 언제 내가 Dwele를 볼것인가 하는 마음에 들떠서 잘 즐겼다.

역시 pimp’s dream이 괜히 있는 노래가 아니라는걸 깨닫고 집으로 버스를 타고왔다.

The musical ensemble contains the singers Joy Denalane, Bilal, Tweet and Dwele; the radio orchestra of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk; four backing vocalists; the MDR children’s choir and four instrumentalists, who do not belong to the orchestra.
