El iPhone hace su segunda intervencion en esta semana, con una nueva aplicacion para dj’s. Asi es, ahora podras utilizar esta aplicacion al momento de mezclar, ya que esta aplicacion contiene BPM counter, Frecuency Viewer, Noise level, Seismic reader (en caso de terremoto…), un glowstick y una luz por en caso de algo. Esta aplicacion fue diseñada por el equipo tecnico de Paul Van Dyk.
El menciona todas estas caracteristicas en un video, y la aplicacion creo que ya esta a la venta y la podemos comprar desde no mas que 2 euros, en la tienda App Store.

[…] Pokud jde o článek o češství, myslím, že já jsem právě osoba nejnepovolanější k jeho napsání. Považuji náboženství a národnost za přežitky, jejichž rozdmychování vede jen k potížím v organisaci lidstva. Co je češství? Překlad němectví do češtiny nebo, laskavěji řečeno, část středoevropanství? Nikdy jsem se rozumově nepozastavoval nad Schauerovým článkem (3) tážícím se, má-li to cenu být bilinguisty, jimiž Češi vždy musí zůstat. Také plně chápu, že Marx (nebo Engels?) se v amerických novinách pustil do Palackého, že vzkřisuje český národ. Člověk by myslil, že v moderním světě bude ubývat národů a ono je tomu naopak. Stali se novým národem Slováci a tady zase Velšané a Irové. Ale je to pochopitelné, čím víc národů, tím víc ministerských křesel, ať jde o černochy nebo o bělochy.

Když jsem žil v Paříži napsal jsem z rozmaru článek nadezvaný O pocitu méněcennosti národu českého. Nic svéráznějšího jsem na českém národě nepostřehl. Mám moc rád Viktora Dyka. Píše moc hezky o českém národě a vlasti: „Komický, ubohý národ, komická ospalá zem – Na den svatého Rufa, na Poli moravském.“ A byl snad někdy nějaký větší český národovec než Viktor Dyk? Můj učitel, Emanuel Rádl, říkával: „Za nějaký čas nebude národnostních překážek a lidé budou měnit národnost jako košili.“ Nevím, jak to přesně myslil, ale nevidím v tom žádnou výhodu, měla-li by se ta změna národnosti stát také změnou jazyka. Nejrozumnější by bylo zavést jednotnou řeč po celém světě a chce-li někdo se učit také jiným, ať si tak dělá. Jedes Tierchen hat sein Plaesierchen, a dopřejme mu to. Ale nezapomeňme na kulturu. Co dala česká kultura světu? Nemohu si vzpomenout, co by to mohlo být, ale je jisté, že nemohla toho dát mnoho, poněvadž byla právě formována v češtině, jazyku nesrozumitelném většině lidí. Kdybychom nepsali česky, nýbrž v nějakém světovém, jednotném jazyku, pak bychom bývali také psali lépe. […]

[…] Studii Pocit méněcennosti národu českého nemohu sehnat. Prof. Stránský už je příliš stár, aby se upamatoval, co s ní učinil, a jinak už sotva kdo existuje z těch, co ji obdrželi. Vymíráme a nejde proti tomu nic dělat. Mně se jen stěží povedlo vyprostit se hrobařovi z lopaty mezi Vánocemi a Sylvestrem. Udeřil mne šlak, jak se po česku říká, ale neztratil jsem vědomí, nýbrž schopnost řeči. Stalo se mi to v podzemce a vůbec jsem nic nepozoroval, až u východu, když jsem zkoušel se dorozumět s vrátným a nešlo to. Přesto jsem hrdinně bojoval s mrtvicí po tři hodiny a teprve pak se navrátil domů do lože, kde jsem prospal celé tři týdny. […]

Milý pane doktore,

za rok se toho seběhlo u mne hodně. Rozvedl jsem se a žena odjede počátkem ledna do Montrealu – do Kanady. V létě jsem navštívil Prahu. Trochu jsem se bál, zvláště když mi Praha neudělila visum a když jsem vyjel na osobní zodpovědnost londýnského konsula. Tož, vyjel jsem „domů“ se smíšenými pocity a se smíšenými pocity jsem se též navrátil. Praha je jak bývala – jenom špinavější, zanedbanější a sešlá.

Dnes jsem se konečně dostal k vánoční korespondenci, neboť do dneška jsem byl pilně zaměstnán dokončováním svého M. S. pro nakladatele (Academic Press). Kniha vyjde prý do roka a pojednává o poživatelných rostlinách. Končím tedy své „dílo“ studií o zelenině, rostlinných nápojích a kuřivu. […]

Jsem rád, že Vaše ratolesti řádně prosperují a osobně sympatisuji s Vaší dcerou nemající dosud zájem o nic.

Z dopisu z [prosince 1972]

[…] Děkuji Vám též mnohokráte za „papíry“ (nemohu si teď vzpomenout na české slovo, ale právě mně prolétlo hlavou, že se tomu říkalo separáty). U prostaty se sejdeme, říkávalo se za mladých časů a teď ve stáří je člověk konfrontován s prostatou ježkovou (Pro ježkovy oči!). Tyto práce mi připomínají cytologii, které jsem se dost poctivě věnoval (ovšem jen teoreticky a nikoliv i prakticky jako Vy) před tím, než jsem se oddal sepisování své knihy. Dnes věnuji celkem všechen čas své knize a obrázkům všelikých rostlin, jimiž je kniha doprovázena. Urobil jsem celkem asi 800 kreseb, což je obzvláštní, neboť jsem z těch lidí, kteří nedovedou namalovat ani krabičku od sirek. Kniha se bude jmenovat PLANTS CONSUMED BY MAN a měl jsem co dělat prosadit tento nepopulární titul u nakladatele. Od Vánoc jsem neměl jedné prázdné neděle a celkem to cítím i na svém tělesném stavu. Dnes jsem odnesl do Academic Press korektury a po svém návratu domů jsem zplodil tento dopis. To je jediná přestávka v dlouhém plahočení. […]

Profesor Zdeněk Hruban (nar. 15. června 1921 v Přerově ) je patologem. Medicínu studoval v Brně, Praze, Hradci Králové a německých Roztokách, odešel do exilu v červnu 1948, úředník Mezinárodní organizace pro uprchlíky (IRO) ve Frankfurtu nad Mohanem, koncem roku 1951 se přestěhoval do Spojených států amerických, studium medicíny a filozofie na University of Chicago, kde také později působil jako profesor na Pritzker School of Medicine (do r. 1991), v sedmdesátých letech spoluzaložil Archiv Čechů a Slováků v zahraničí (ACASA), člen Společnosti pro vědy a umění (SVU). Po II. světové válce přeložil knihu Heinricha Menga Ochrana duševního zdraví: Úvod do diagnostiky, bádání a užití psychohygieny (Praha, 1949; z důvodu odchodu Z. Hrubana do exilu byl jako překladatel uveden M. Hruban), jejíž překlad konzultoval i s Bohuslavem Broukem. Zdeněk Hruban je autorem četných vědeckých publikací – např. You won´t believe what you will read now. I’m just back in my hotelroom (05.09.2009, 10:30 PM), but actually I should be on stage at the Planet Love Festival in Belfast now. The reality is, that the organizers just told me and my manager one our ago at the festival, that Paul van Dyk told them, that when I play (my contracted playtime was 10-12 PM) my set right before his set 12-2 AM, he will not play! So the organizers decided to throw me out of the lineup! I just want to let you know, how people in this scene and business works and of course this will have consequences to all concerned parties! I’m so sorry for all the fans out there, who wasn’t able to see me.

It was Sri Madhvacharya who revealed for the first time that the Valmiki Ramayana was NOT the first Ramayana. The Mula (original) Ramayana was narrated by Lord Hayagriva himself to Brahma and comprises of 100 crore shlokas!

Once, when Sri Vadiraja Swamy was visiting Pune, an assembly of scholars had gathered there and had adjudged Bana’s “Shishupala Vadha” as the best Sanskrit work ever. Swamiji asked them to wait for some time and offered to bring to them something better than Bana’s work. In 19 days, he then composed “Rukminishavijaya”, his magnum opus. The scholars voted it as the greater work, paraded it on an elephant and hailed Sri Vadiraja Swamy as “Kavi Kula Thilaka” (The gem amongst poets)!

Lord Bhimasena believed that the prime duty of his avatar was to destroy evil and that this was a service to God. Hence, he offered his “killing” of Dushashana and Duryodhana to Lord Krishna by reciting the Manyu Sukta and Vrushabha Sukta respectively!

Since John wasn’t around yesterday, it probably fell on me to write up the What’s Bruin for Friday, but I was busy not writing it.  Sorry for that.  To make up for it, today’s pre-game notes will feature fun “Did You Know?” facts, as we cheer the Bruins on in the early stages of an unbeaten season.

On a self-indulgent (is it still called self-indulgent if I’m talking about two people?) note, I just wanted to let everyone know that the record number of hits to the blog was shattered yesterday.  Our previous record high came on the day our Bruins preview was posted on Melt Your Face Off (check it out, if you still haven’t!  You don’t have to read the whole thing!) and we didn’t even have any major posts up yesterday.  We’ve only been around for a month now, at this point, but on behalf of John and myself, thank you for reading this blog.  We’re trying more and more to make it worth a daily visit when you’re trying to put off work.  Enough of that, let’s get to the pre-game.  And the swear words.

• DID YOU KNOW?: Bruins off-season acquisition Michael Ryder is on pace to score 82 goals this season.  Ryder’s previous career high was 30, set in 2005-06 and matched in 06-07.  Ryder was signed to a 3-year $12 million dollar contract by the Bruins in July.

• DO YOU KARE?: The Bruins were whistled for 5 penalties during Thursday’s game against Colorado.  Hasenfratz!

• DID YA KOUNT?: Colorado only converted one of those power plays, giving the Bruins PK an 80% success rate to start the year.  What’s the opposite of Hasenfratz?  McCreary?

• WUßTEN SIE?: Marco Sturm, Stephane Yelle, and Shawn Thornton are the only Bruins forwards who did not notch a point in the season opener.

• DA YA thinK (I’m Sexy)?: Chuck Kobasew took a shot to the lower body, and he’s off the ice for an indeterminate amount of time (thanks, NHL injury disclosure policy!).  I want to compare the oft-injured Kobasew to Rhode Island’s Ray, Rocco Baldelli.  However, Baldelli has some degenerative fatigue disorder which literally makes him unable to stay healthy over the course of a full season, and therefore, I can’t really make fun of him in good conscience.  Kobasew just has brittle bones, (and joints and tendons and brains).  This makes him less like Rocco Baldelli, and more like Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable.  Thus, it’s okay to ridicule Kobasew.  Because that movie sucks.  Get well soon, Chuck.

• DAMN YER KITE?: The scariest man on skates, Minnesota’s Derek Boogaard, won’t be dressed for tonight’s game, so look for Milan Lucic to drop the gloves tonight.  Perhaps pretty-boy Norris candidate Brent Burns?  Or, who’s this?  Craig Weller?  He’s 6′4″ and 220 lbs.?  That sounds like it’s too good to be true.  Enjoy the ass-kicking, Mr. Weller.
• NORDY!  (More on this later.  Trust me.)

According to our Puranas, Budha (mercury) is the illegitimate son of Chandra (moon) and Tara (wife of Bruhaspati – Jupiter) !!

Sri Madhva is known for this crisp and short writings. Most of his works are very short in size (but, needless to say, oceanic in depth!).

In fact, in one of his works “Yamaka Bharata”, the 78th shloka is actually a series of 32 “Bha”s. Something like..

This shloka has attracted numerous commentaries!

Sri Madhvacharya, in his work Krishnamrutamaharnava, mentions five qualities in a person which make him worthy of being respected. The five are wealth, relation, age, position (achievement) and knowledge – wealth being the least important of them all and knowledge being the most important!

Sri Narahari Tirtha, a direct disciple of Sri Madhva and one of the early converts to Sri Madhva’s school, was deputed by Sri Madhva to Kalinga (now Orissa) to spread Tattvavada. He ended up “ruling” Kalinga for over 12 years due to the untimely death of the King of Orissa!

After the Mahabharata war ended, the palace of Duryodhana and Dushashana was occupied by Bhima and Arjuna respectively!!

Sri Jagannatha Dasa, one of the greatest Haridasas and the author of “Harikathamruthasara” was initially a staunch opposer of the Hari Dasa system and had even called the great Vijaya Dasa a mere “singer of Kannada songs”.

When Sri Madhva composed his magnificent work Anu-Vyakhyana (at the behest of Trivikrama Panditacharya), he narrated each of the four chapters simultaneously to four students who wrote them down!
