That’s me preparing for my dump, by the way. What a place to put a portaloo!

So here are 20 of the decades worst flicks. I’ve chosen to do a list of 20 because I’m also doing a Top 20 list. For the sake of consistency, and all that bollocks.

I’ve set some rules for myself as the shortlist was triple this size. Importantly, I’ve avoided repeating anyone else’s list. So if it’s not on the list, it will most likely mean I chose to target something else. This only occurred about three or four times so it didn’t affect my list too greatly. And everything that needs to be said about Alien vs Predator: Requiem has already been said.

Also, I’ve chosen to only include movies I had a overwhelming hatred for. Not just a ‘that was shit’, but these movies make me want to kill puppies. Not that I have of course, but even thinking about these movies while doing the list has annoyed the shit out of me. That’s how evil these shitfests are.

So with further ado, away we go!

20. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

I call this flick the ‘relationship killer’. Well, maybe not relationship, but I went on a second date with a chick and we saw this piece of shit. Needless to say I never heard from her again. I blame the movie, not my good looks or winning personality. In theory, this is a cool idea. Bring together all the literary icons of the past couple of hundred years and have them join forces to defeat the ultimate evil adversary. Needless to say that theory proved incorrect. Jekyll and Hyde looked like a condom stuffed with potatoes, Sean Connerys stunt double should’ve received top billing and Richard Roxburgh hammed it up so much I had a craving for pork chops. I’ve not read Alan Moores funnybook, but if this is the result then count me out. One day someone will learn not to fucking adapt Alan Moore. The only barely watchable adaptation is ‘From Hell’.

19. Elizabethtown (2005)

I’d usually blame that effeminate prick Orlando Bloom for ruining a film, but in this case his Hugh Grant-channelling performance pales in comparison to the saccharine, cloying screenplay. Laurence Olivier couldn’t have played that character. A complete shitfest from start to finish. Something about a failed sneaker, an annoying stewardess, a dead father and a fucking musical journey through the heartland. Fuck me, I either like or love all of Cameron Crowe’s flicks, particularly ‘Say Anything’, but this could very well be a career killer.

18. Blood Diamond (2006)

You can see the screenplay being written by committee as you witness this travelogue of political points masquerading as an action flick. Leo “I wear a little beard when I want to look tough” DiCaprio’s worst performance this side of ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’. His shitty Saffa accent fades in and out, then somewhere along the way he learns that Saffa’s call each other ‘Bru’. So every subsequent line of dialogue is littered with it. It’s “Bru this” and “Bru that”. Eh Bru, don’t ya know that’s fucking annoying?. And the romance with the skeleton formerly known as Jennifer Connelly is forced garbage. Poor old Djimon Hounsou. He has made a career of giving great support in aid of dreck.

17. The Sweetest Thing (2002)

A wannabe ‘American Pie’ meets ‘There’s Something About Mary’ with the bad taste ramped up to 11, but the laughs on mute. This is where Cameron Diaz lost me. I thought she was okay before this. Like the dreadful ‘Charlies Angels’ flicks, the forced girl power camaraderie is embarrassing. Getting a dick piercing stuck on your tonsils? Taking a semen stained dress to the dry cleaner and your priest walks in? Chicks fondling one characters plastic tits in the bathroom of a nightclub? Pathetic.

16. The Holiday (2006)

Diaz again! And another effeminate prick from the UK. And tubby bastard Jack Black (who I do usually like). And the completely unlikeable Kate Winslett. Something about her just irritates me. I particularly hated Jude Law, who blubbers his way through the entire running time of this steaming load. What an absolute twat that bloke is.

15. Shrek the Third (2007)

I didn’t like Shrek very much. It was saved by Donkey. Shrek 2 stank even worse. Puss in Boots got me through it. But this piece of shit doesn’t even pretend to have a storyline that means anything. Shrek goes to get some dorky kid. Shrek brings him back. This is just such a lazy goddamn cashgrab. Completely devoid of any entertainment value. It’s a sickening experience.

14. Righteous Kill (2008)

Here you have two of the greatest actors in living memory, giving horrendous performances in a pathetically obvious and boring cop thriller. Honestly, what the were they thinking? Jon Avnet can go fuck himself. Not only did he direct this turkey, but he also directed ‘88 Minutes’ which is not on this list because I didn’t really want to double up on two shithouse thrillers starring the blow waved Pacino. I chose this one because it not only wastes De Niro and Pacino, it also wastes the gorgeous Carla Gugino.

13. The Spirit (2008)

Holy shit, if you haven’t seen this, I’m jealous. It’s just as bad as you’ve heard. It proves beyond a doubt that Frank Miller is a complete bag of cocks. It wants desperately to be ‘Sin City’ cool, but fails in every aspect. The scene where Samuel L. Jackson is dressed up as a Nazi has to be seen to be believed. And Miller must’ve thought it was brilliant because the fucking scene goes on forever! And why the fuck do these two keep fighting each other? Neither The Spirit nor Jacksons character can even get injured, yet they keep pounding on each other. It’s just tedious and idiotic. Fuck off Miller, you prick.

12. The Break-Up (2006)

Honestly, if I want to experience two hours of two people arguing, I’ll get back with my ex-girlfriend. What is this supposed to be? A comedy? Cause it sure ain’t funny. A drama? Cause who gives a shit about two selfish idiots without any redeeming factors? Motormouth Vaughn’s schtick is getting so old it’s beyond a joke. On an related note, if they ever do a bio of Quentin “I suffer from gigantism” Tarantino, I nominate Vaughn and his mellon head for the job.

11. My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006)

Completely, utterly unfunny. Terrible performances. Unwatchable dreck. I barely remember it, thank christ. I just remember I hated it with the fire of a thousand suns.

10. Eagle Eye (2008)

Or as I like to call it, ‘Enemy of the I, Robot’. When will people learn? Shia La Fucking Beef is not an action hero! DJ Caruso, who has the most annoying name this side of McG, just apes other, more talented directors in every flick he does. This is absolute shit. I can immediately think of a way to vastly improve it. Switch around the roles. Move Rosario Dawson to the La Beef character, swap Billy Bob Thornton and Michelle Monaghan, and move Michael Chiklis to Dawson. And fuck La Beef right off. It would still be a shit, intelligence insulting exercise in mass marketing, but at the very least we’d get decent actors in the roles. And don’t have that fucking tacked on scene at the end when two people that we’ve just watched fot two hours and have zero chemistry and obviously dislike each other get bloody cosy. You didn’t earn that goddamn scene. Fuck off DJ.

9. The Love Guru (2008)

God Mike Myers is a mugging prick. Unless he makes Waynes World 3, he can fuck off back to Canada. No, scratch that. He can fuck off anyway. There is so much desperation in this flick it’s painful to watch. He stops every minute and a half to stare straight into camera and try to mug a chuckle out of you. There is a character in this, played by Sir Ben Kingsley, named Guru Tugginmypuda. Jesus christ. Even Alba looks embarrassed to be in this bowl movement.

8. The Village (2004)

This is the first M. Night I hated. I like Sixth Sense and Signs, and I love Unbreakable. I absolutely loathe this shitheap. The twist sucks. It’s boring. Brody as the tard is mind-bogglingly annoying, nutbar hairlip looks like he doesn’t want to be there at all (I don’t blame him) and the reason for living the way they do never really made any sense. I seriously think this would’ve been better if it was a straight up horror flick. The woods had real monsters and it really was the 1800’s or whenever it was supposed to be. As it stands, it’s not. And it set the trend for M. Night’s career trajectory.

7. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

I like Michael Bay movies. There, I said it. I have a unexplainable love of The Island. Maybe it’s Johannson’s lips. I don’t know. But it features the Bayhem speciality of shit rolling off the back of a truck into oncoming traffic. No one does it better. I kind of enjoyed the first Transformers flick. It was about as good as I could expect from a movie about giant, shape-shifting alien robots punching each other over the ownership of a rubix cube. But in their desperation to capitalise on the first flicks unlikely box office, they rushed this piece of shit into production without a script that makes a lick of sense. So much is crammed in to it, and nothing means anything. Nothing makes sense. Why are the robots organic? How does a robot simulate human flesh? Why build up a two and a half hour movie to have the ultimate showdown with the king of the Decepticons then have him get his ass kicked in about two minutes? Robots humping legs? A robot with a cane? Robots that vacuum sand like Megan Fox vacuumed cock to get the role in the first one? This is such a headache inducing experience. Hate is not a strong enough word

6. The Heartbreak Kid (2008)

The Farrelly Brothers have made three awesome comedies, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin (my fav) and There’s Something About Mary. This pile of excrement has just one likeable character. Michelle Monaghan is too good for this shit. There’s a point early in the movie where Stillers at the wedding of his ex and in his speech her father says that Stiller’s character is an asshole. Too fucking right. His character is such a selfish dick that you actually feel sorry for his new wife! And she’s supposed to be the nightmare! Poor Malin Akerman and Monaghan. This is what up and coming actresses have to deal with in Hollywood. Either humiliated in loathsome “comedies” or running around dodging fireballs in shithouse action movies. Both deserve better.

5. John Q (2002)

Denzel is a great actor. He can elevate bad material to a watchable level. ‘The Bone Collector’ for example. But he stars in bad flicks ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I’m sick of it. This one-sided, manipulative liberal mouthpiece of a movie could’ve been written my Michael Moore. The “good guys” are made to be so sympathetic and the bad guys so emotionless and evil it’s a stomach churning watch. I remember taking a sickie off work and wondering what to do with my day. I decided I’d go down to the local cinema and check out a movie. And this is what I saw. It’s was so maddening that I wished a painful death on everyone involved.

4. Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005)

I hated the first Deuce Bigelow. I hate Rob Schneider. Why did I bother watching this shit? He goes to Amsterdam and becomes a man-whore for a bunch of fucking freaks. But in the first one, the freaks were tall, fat or legless. Most of the freaks in this one have no basis in reality. One has a dick on her nose for fucks sake! Schneider is an unfunny little prick and can die a horrible death for all I care.

3. Hannibal (2001)

Fuck Ridley Scott. Fuck Thomas Harris. Fuck Anthony Hopkins. Good on Jodie Foster. She’s the only one that had any sense beyond drooling over a mound of cash as they shit all over one of the greatest cinematic icons of the past 20 years. Fuck Harris doubly because he did it AGAIN with that prequel (which I never bothered watching). I almost walked out of this flick after 15 minutes. I could see the writing on the wall. But I’d paid my 10 bucks and rationalised that if I didn’t walk out on GI Jane (another horrendous Scott flick) I couldn’t justify walking out on anything. This has a brilliant cast, a director who can occasionally knock it out of the park and all the money in the world. It’s a complete and utter failure on every level. It’s not intelligent or involving like The Silence of The Lambs. It’s not atmospheric or exciting like Manhunter. It’s a cynical goddamn cashgrab and it’s a dirty great skidmark on the careers of everyone involved.

2. xXx (2002)

I honestly don’t think Vin Diesels made a flick I really like. His best effort by far is Pitch Black which was made infinitely better by having the balls to kill the chick right at the end. Rob Cohen is an awful, awful director. I liked Dragonheart at the time, but now if I’m afraid to watch it again. This braindead hunk of shit begins with a ‘move over James Bond’ scene that’s embarrassing, obvious and moronic. And it’s all downhill from there. It’s so desperate to be hip and cool. But in reality it’s sad, stupid and ugly. When will Hollywood learn that although the Czech Republic is a cheap place to shoot, unless you’re doing a flick about the dawn of time, import actors from elsewhere in Europe. Looking at these neanderthals for two hours is quite simply off-putting. And once you’ve seen the biggest neanderthal of them all ’shaking with rage’ while looking through x-ray goggles’, I dare say Prague won’t be high on your ‘must visit’ list.

1. Ocean’s Twelve (2004)

Here we have it. The worst movie of the decade. This piece of shit is so smug and condescending it’s infuriating. But I only merely hated it up until the point of the “have Julia Roberts pretend to be Julia Roberts” scene. That scene is THE biggest kick in the nuts while you’re down I’ve ever witnessed. IT’S NOT FUCKING CLEVER. It’s a pathetic act of desperation. There’s more mugging in this flick than the entire Mike Myers and Schneider back catalogue combined! Why is Brad Pitt eating in every fucking scene? It’s embarrassing how much back-slapping and “Wow, aren’t we funny and clever.” there is in this trash. And worst of all it wastes a fucking awesome cast. Finney, Cassel, Willis, Garcia, Izzard and Coltrane. Soderbergh is a pretentious little prick. He’s so far up himself his films reek of shit. The only one I think is brilliant is ‘Out of Sight’. I hated, loathed, despised this movie.

Lite kreativt i dag, fullt klar over det.

Caught Minority Report during New Communications Technology class (NCT) last week. Somehow I think

Caught Minority Report during New Communications Technology class (NCT) last week.

Somehow I think the “future” is always pictured with flying hovercrafts everywhere, hologramic computer screens, being able to control things with only with a touch of your finger or by just a mere movement by your hands, etc. Zzz. Honestly, all these futuristic movies need a change. :/

Okay anyway, I realised… as technology advances, it seems like every single detail of every living individual could be tracked. Creepy much? Just look at Minority Report – there’s this eye-scan technology where anyone could be identified by just scanning their eyes. No escape.

Oh oh. Minority Report reminds me of a recent movie – Eagle Eye.

Basically the storyline revolves around how every single human being’s movements are tracked and seen by a robot. The robot watches over a zillion TV screens every second, watching every move everyone makes. -_-

All in all, the message that I got from all these Sci-Fi futuristic movies is that : Advancing technology = Increasingly no privacy. Tsk. See lah, invent more stuff lah, next time even when you’re in your bath people can be watching you too. -_-

Now, I’d think that it’s better to be a caveman. Why the heck did we humans turn so smart for? We’re actually making ourselves at a disadvantage subconsciously. Stop upgrading, stop inventing! Life’s good, no need for any more improvements that you think that would make our lives better! It’s only your warped perception! And I also feel that it’s all a conspiracy to make more money. HAHA.

Seriously. What’s the use for being so advanced?!

I have watched a few movies recently and thought that the actor in it has a fantastic career ahead o

I have watched a few movies recently and thought that the actor in it has a fantastic career ahead of them so decided to make a top 10 list of those actors. With a few reasons why I think they will keep progressing and go on to do great things (potentially), from the movies I have seen them in. I decided to define the young actor, as an actor under the age of 30.

10. Robert Pattinson

Age: 23

Will Robert ever be able to get away from Edward Cullen? Its going to be a massive task especially as the Twilight series is still going to go on for another two installments after New Moon is released in November. I am sure only time will tell as Robert gets older and depending on the choices of movies he makes.

9. Shia Labeouf

Age: 23

Shia has already been touted the next big thing for a few years now and he still only 23 years old. With Transformers being a big box office hit, then going on to star in the sequel with Disturbia and Eagle Eye in between. He so far has seemed to go a bit more towards the action/thriller genre so will be interesting to see what he does in the next few years. He is currently filming Wall Street 2 which should be a different direction for him, I will very much look forward to seeing that one.

8. Channing Tatum

Age: 29

First came to attention in Step Up and Shes the Man, he has headlined to films this year, G.I. Joe and Fighting (I am yet to see both of these) but I still think Channing has a lot of potential on the acting front. I really did totally fall in love with him in She’s the Man as he was just so lovely in it, especially as he was a footballer as well which kinda helped.

7. Freddie Highmore

Age: 17

The youngest actor in the list who will soon have to attempt the difficult task of going from child star to actor. But if his young performances are anything to go by he has a very bright future. Staring with Johnny Depp twice in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland. The later of which showed what a bright young talent he is.

6. Michael Cera

Age: 21

The geeky cute guy you cannot help but like seems to be the type of character Michael plays, in Superbad and my favorite Juno. He really has that adorable edge down with his geekiness. I really do just think that there is something about Michael that is quite difficult to explain, he just seems to have a cute charm going on about him.

5. Ryan Gosling

Age: 28

Ryan already has received an Oscar nomination and been in some high profile movies with some big name actors and actresses including Anthony Hopkins in Fracture, Sandra Bullock in Murder by Numbers. His most well known performance so far has to be as Noah in The Notebook. Ryan just has to keep building after being nominated for an Oscar for his role in Half Nelson. He does not seem to want to stay “mainstream” and took on a tricky role in Lars and the Real Girl. So hopefully he will keep selecting interesting films which call for him to put in a good performance.

4. Ben Barnes

Age: 28

Recently came to my attention in a massive way with his performance in Dorian Gray. I thought he was just fantastic heading the movie, which while it was not the best thing ever made he still made a very good impression as an actor. I then caught him as Prince Caspin in Chronicles of Narnia and was more impressed. I cannot wait to see more from Ben and catch up on already released movies such as Easy Virtue. Now Ben would seem to have his career in his own hands and could do many different roles from what he has done so far.

3. Zac Efron

Age: 21

Zac has to be one of the most well known young actors and he is still on 21 years old, all down to the High School Musical franchise. But he has branched out recently starring in 17 Again and has some very different projects in the works away from High School Musical and even musicals in general as he also starred in Hairspray. He dropped out of the remake of Footloose a few months ago in order to change the direction he is going in. So if Zac can change his path and get more serious roles under his belt to help show that he can do different things. He has even stated himself that he wants to move away from the teen heart throb and do more serious roles. Hopefully we will see that from Zac as it is going to be so difficult for him to do this.

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Age: 28

A former child star who is really starting to make his mark in the past few years. I remember first seeing him in 10 Things I Hate About You and thinking he was very good in that movie. However more recently catching him in 500 Days of Summer really made me think WOW he has something very special and so much potential to do great things in film. I definitely think Joseph can go in many different directions now and I hope that he continues to do movies that I enjoy to watch for different reasons.

1. Jim Sturgess

Age: 28

Probably a big surprise to be at the top of my list, I have only seen him in two movies as well but was so blown away by him I think he could pretty much do any different roles. The first film I saw him in was Across the Universe which I just found incredible and Jim was fantastic in it. Not long after that I watched 21 and thought he was brilliant in that as well starring opposite Kevin Spacey. I am trying to catch up on movies Jim has already done which I have missed and look forward to what he is going to come up with in the future. He is definitely an actor I am going to be keeping a very close eye on.

I haven’t posted a whole lot since Robin’s birthday. Nothing really wrong, just very busy. I thanked him in private, but I wanted to thank Pointy again for sending her a DVD of Dracula 2000. It’s a favorite of ours and Robin thinks Gerard Butler makes the hottest Dracula ever. I, of course, love all the hot ladies in the cast. But besides the eye candy, the movie rocks and has a neat twist on Dracula’s origin. We’ve never bothered with the sequels. Are they any good?

We also joined Netflix so we could catch up on movies we haven’t seen. Lately, we watched Push (entertaining, but mostly consisted of moving around and plotting, very little action. And it wasn’t original at all – think Firestarter and you have the gist), Wolverine (enjoyed it a lot – nothing mind-blowing but a fun action movie), Eagle Eye (loved it!), and we’ve been enjoyed Penn & Teller’s Bullshit series.

So, what’s been going on since? Some of it is a secret, involving something big going on at Skullvines Press. Don’t worry, it’ll be announced soon, and we’re really excited about it.

And guess what? Robin hasn’t smoked in just over a month now! She’s been on the patch, and she’s on Step Two now. It’s been rough, but she’s hanging in there really well. I thought for sure she’d end up in the hospital over all the stress, but she’s determined to make it work! I have her ciggies in the safe, and she does demand one on occasion. But hey, one every few days vs every hour is fantastic! She’s been going on about how much better she can breathe when we take walks or go to the “Y.” I am so extremely proud of her, but of course, this also requires me to spend tons of quality time with her (away from the computer) so she’s not dwelling on it. That is a task I’m more than happy to fulfill.

Fall is here! My favorite time of the year. Ah but autumn, you’re a cruel mistress. With it comes all the allergies that I suffer from. My left eye is swelled and itchy as I type. When school started, everyone in town got sick, it seems. Kids with colds go to school, give it to all the other kids, then they all take it home to give the grown-ups… it happens every year. But parents get so afraid to keep their children home on the first day. Ah well. We don’t have kids, but were around a lot of sniffling, sneezing people at the gas station, grocery store, etc. And Robin was pretty sick for a bit. I managed to stay ahead of it until the last time I mowed the lawn. I had a nasty allergy attack, which kicked everything else off. I was down with it bad until I was finally hooked up with some good drugs. Then Robin got sick again, lol.

We’re much better now, though. And oddly enough, I started staying awake during the day while sleeping at night. For a large chunk of my life, I’ve always been a night owl, getting sick any time I tried to change my hours around. I’m thrilled to have “normal” hours now, and hope it lasts for a good while. It’s much easier when going to book signings, conventions, etc. I don’t look like such a zombie and my blood sugar isn’t going wonky.

We’re getting the cloudy days and the leaves are starting to turn here and there. I love being able to open the house up, even if the allergies screw with me. It’s worth it. The utility bills looks more attractive, too, with the dormant A/C.

I hope all is well with everyone else.

That Saturday when Ms. Ingrid Cudia was discussing about SEO, Sir Barry asked me what was i thinking after the discussion. I just said “wala po.“ (i think that has become a reflex) so i would not have to blurt out that stupid thought running in my mind that time and i was just bugging Angge about it. Haha!

Miss Ingrid said that that Google Robot thinks like a human. The advertisements that pops everytime we browse the web varies from one person’s preferences to another.

and that made me repeatedly ask myself (and Angge), “pwede kaya mangyari yung kagaya sa movie na Eagle Eye?” In the movie, there’s this computer that’s tasked to gather information to all people all over the world and can control virtually anything, and then later starts thinking like a human instructing the lead characters to put explosives on a hall where all the officials of the executive branch of the goverment gathers (or something to that effect). Can a robot have a mind of its own? Like what happened in movies like iRobot, Stealth, and Eagle Eye? Hey blame it on the silverscreen.

I should stop watching science FICTION movies. Grr. Seriously. What was i thinking?

Ah, here’s another article I really couldn’t wait to write. Geeks united across the worl

Ah, here’s another article I really couldn’t wait to write. Geeks united across the world will be having a spasm of excitement once they’ve finished reading this. Here’s a run down of the top 5 upcoming movie adaptations of some of the best selling games to date. I know, I’m just as eager to write it as you are to read it.

Roasted Necromorph anyone?

At #1. Dead Space – PS3, 360, PC

Director is none other than D.J. Caruso, previous works of his would be ‘Eagle Eye‘, and ‘Disturbia‘, both of which have Mr. Lebeouf in, how much do you want to bet he has a part in this? Anyway, for those of you who AREN’T geeks. Dead space is set in the 26th Century in well.. the deep, dark, vastness known as space, where a lone engineer picks up a distress signal from a mining ship and investigates before realising that the entire crew is horribly mutated into necromorphs, It’s up to him to fight them off and destroy whatever’s controlling them at this point. Anyone looking forward to it?

Hulk! Smash!

At #2. BioShock – PS3, 360, PC

Anyone care to take a stab in the dark as to who the lucky director is? No? Well, you may be pleasantly surprised… I was. It’s only Gore Verbinski, why does that name sound familiar? Because he only directed the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean‘ trilogy, he would be directing the forth, but bailed for this baby of a project. Estimated budget exceeds $100 million. Something tells me that this film is going to be great. Is it the awesome game? Awesome director? Or just the fact that if this hits the cinemas, then that practically means BioShock 2 is gauaranteed to be made. Personally, if that’s the case, I can’t wait… I loved the game and I will probably love the movie. And am I the only one that thinks the fist in the picture resembles hulks at all?

You Feelin' Lucky Punk? Well Do Ya?

At #3. Mass Effect – 360, PC

This is where the lovely geeks of the world join together and snort in unison. Why,you ask? Oh.. You didn’t ask, well anyway. The Director of this bad boy is only Avi Arad.. I know what you’re thinking ‘Who the heck is that?‘ I’ll tell you who, he’s only the previous owner of Marvel movies and producer of the Spiderman and X-men movies. If you liked those, you’ll like this.

As the story goes, Commander Shepherd (Yes, the renegade in the picture) and his crew have to save alien species from the systematic eradication that a random species must face every 50,000 years from a pitiless mechanical foe. Why? Don’t ask me, maybe they have to do some good deeds before going to Mass Effect heaven.

What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster? is it a monster?

At #4. World Of Warcraft – PC

It’s a well known fact that ‘World of Warcraft’ is the leading MMORPG in the world, it’s so well known that it’s actually getting made into a big blockbuster hit, and I have a gut feeling it will be pretty good. Despite rumours. Sam Raimi is directing this one, as you would know if you read my spiderman article a while back.

For those that do not understand what World Of Warcraft is, it originally started out as a MMORPG on the PC. The forth addition to the Warcraft universe, ever since ‘Warcraft: Orcs & Humans‘ in 1994, It’s lore has become full of depth and detail, and ultimately setting out the stepping stones for what could be the largest universe in terms of complexity on screen. I’m just hoping this baby will be filmed cinematically.

Don't make me break my foot off in your ass.

And last but not least:
#5. Gears Of War – 360, PC

Two names, Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) and Chris Morgan (Wanted) are directing and scripting Gears Of War respectively. Not bad. We’ve been assured that Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson will NOT be starring in the film as anyone. Yes, that means Cole train and Tai will not be forced to relive the same fate as Sarge in DOOM, thankfully. Rumours of Kate Beckinsale playing Maria however are slowly emerging, and may be true.

If you’re not a fan of the game, let me explain the concept to you. Gears of War takes place on the planet Sera. The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) originally existed only as an obscure world-government philosophy, but it evolved into a legitimate, though minor, political party during the 79-year long Pendulum Wars. After “Emergence Day,” when the Locust began their attack on humanity, the COG were the ones who took the necessary steps to ensure the survival of human civilization, instituting martial law and taking charge of the effort against the Locust.

So, I’m loving Netflix. I just got my 2nd movie in the mail… but what i love is the streaming on my computer. Since ive had the time ive been streaming all the freakin time! I watch 2 Brittany Murphy movies, The Ramen Girl and Love and Other Disaters. Both cute movies… really liked Love and Other Disaters tho. I love the British… and movies that poke fun at themselves.

Let’s see… what else. Well, i’ve started watching The Tudors. Quite enjoying that show. And i finally finished Season 2 of Dexter! Loves that show! can’t wait till im able to get my hands on Season 3 so i can be all ready for Season 4 to start.

I tried watching The Other Boleyn Girl… i couldnt even make it to the end of that terrible movie! I had just finished the book… and i know it’s a bad idea to watch the movie after. Ugh… couldnt enjoy it at all. The book is great… but the movie was all kinds of wrong! Blah! Ick!

Last thing, i watched Eagle Eye… i liked it. And now i just got Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

Ok, done.

(All ratings are on a scale of 19 to 73)

Eagle Eye is a shitty movie. While sober, there is almost every reason in the world to avoid it. The acting is pretty bad, the cinematography is just short of horrible and the story is so far-fetched that my head hurts just thinking about it; but if you are high, this movie is a masterpiece. A masterpiece that takes Alfred Hitchcock’s classic paranoia of being manipulated by external forces and raises it to the nth.

Hitchcock’s stories constantly force you to face the limits of your disbelief. He tells tall tales of men falsely accused to cover up anarchist plots and of even greater conspiracies characterized by a certain amount of steps; a twilight zone before there was one. His movies were made with style, such that everything seemed right-side up, until he flipped it around on you. He was a puppetmaster who played with your comfort levels by delicately suspending you in air, then pulled at the strings of your fears, anxieties and emotions. Eagle Eye just cuts those strings, forcing you into a free fall.

That is why Eagle Eye is so perfect to see when you’re stoned. Something crazy happens almost every five minutes. But crazy is subjective. In the land of Alfred Hitchcock, crazy can mean a man mutilating live rabbits to get his jollies on. But once Shia LeBouf enters from stage left, crazy takes on a different meaning. Crazy begins to mean a nude man on a city street corner, foaming at the mouth and pontificating into a water jug while fondling his testicles and telling you that aliens switched them for cotten balls, all of thisis done as heis deficating onto a chihuahua that is conveniently located in a plastic bag, held up by the five Dwarf kings. If that was too much for you, don’t see Eagle Eye.

In one scene, we find ourselves in one of America’s many deserts with Shia LeBouf and an Iranian. This Iranian had just disobeyed the antagonist’s wishes by telling Shia a little about what is going on. The Iranian begins to flee based off of a (justified) paranoia that he will be knocked off for divulging those secrets. Shortly after, an electric wire shortcircuits and the steel monolith supporting thecables falls and one of those cables backlashes with such precision that it manages to hit the Iranian, causing him to evapoate.

This is the eventual charm of the movie and why it is so fun to watch while high. It makes you constantly repeat to yourself these three words: “what the fuck?” And it’s fine if you’re too high to remember the rest of the story, or if a key piece of dialogue was lost in the sound of chips chewing in your mouth. Because there really is no sensical storyline or key piece of dialogue, there are only breaks separating one shocking scene from another. Your high only adds to the disorientation that this film feeds upon; and in the end, it helps you laugh harder and gasp louder at the utterly ridiculous shit that happens on the screen.

Eagle Eye Action packed movie with too many car chasing sequence. I find the chase a little over rat

Action packed movie with too many car chasing sequence. I find the chase a little over rated. But then I did enjoy the movie, I don’t know for what though. Maybe for the story because I was so curious to know why they were being the target.

Rating: 3/5

Peeping Tom

After so long having this movie in my pc I just managed to watch it a few days back. And I regret not watching it earlier as it had real good camera work and also scares. I loved the usage of dialogue in this film. It is taken in 1960 and the backdrop of the movie was just something pleasant to the eye to watch. Storyline was good and acting was wonderful. I hope to watch movies like this more in the future.

Ratings: 4/5

This movie was released in 1989. When I read about this film I thought I had heard it somewhere but was not sure If I watched it. And so I got it when I was in India, and then reading more about the film, I got to know that it is a novel by Stephen King. That one factor interest me much to watch this film. I also read that the screenplay was written by him, even more the excitement. The film was rather scary, in a good way. I mean not gory scary or ghostly scary, but the kind of scare was good. Acting was also to be appreciated. The small boy especially, very cute yet clear dialogue delivery (prolly a dubbing artist…but I don’t know bout that).

I also regret not watching this movie before doing my student film because maybe I could have steal some scares from here. Hahaha… but that would be cheating. *bluek*

Ratings: 4/5

I was watching the movie Eagle Eye last night. I will spare you my thumbs down review of this overly ambitious and unrealistic movie. What I did find interesting was the use of the computer as the main villain. For those of you that were not subjected to watching this, the military had developed this top-secret supercomputer called “Autonomous Reconnaissance Intelligence Integration Analyst” or Ariia – tasked with gathering intelligence from all over the world. Ariia decides to wipe out the U.S. Government because it feels that it has failed the American people.

Here are some of my favorite megalomaniac computers from movie history.

1. WOPR (pronounced “Whopper”) from the movie WarGames. WOPR was an acronym for “War Operation Plan Response”. “Shall we play a game?” We put missiles under the control of a computer? I guess these guys never heard of Windows Vista.

2. Skynet from The Terminator franchise. Computers begin thinking that humans need to be wiped out. Artificial intelligent evolving to a point where it no longer needs humans and destroys humanity. Will that day ever come?

3. The Matrix from The Matrix franchise. A reality created by sentient machines in order to pacify and subdue the human population while their bodies’ heat and electrical activity is used as an energy source. Talk about “going green”.

4. MCP from the movie Tron. When programs revolt. Who is keeping an eye on the developers? Somebody…

5. HAL 9000 from Arthur C. Clarke’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. HAL was the acronym for “Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer”. The coolest of all supercomputers. I wish I had one. However, my iMac comes pretty close.

What is your favorite supercomputer villain? Let me know…
