hei guys ~~~ , At last i’m back from Hong Kong .
Last week i went to Hong Kong for APDSA meeting , and also a culinary trip . Thanks God i have some friends there , so i know where to go , if not i will be like an immigrant who can’t speak chinese , ( even though i am a chinese i can’t speak chinese )
because of my busyness , i will post about my 3 days in Hong Kong later . This time i will just post my loots in hongkong . 8D

I bought this bose in ear headphones , it has a really superb quality~~~ , if you like to hear a music on your ipod or other mp3 player , you should buy this one . the price is around 850 HKD ,
btw are you a person who can distinguish between one earphone and other earphone ?
Sometimes , if you are not get used to comparing the quality of sound , it is really hard to choose which one has a better sound between 2 earphones .

Besides this earphones , i also bought a case for my Lumix Lx-3 . It is nice , but actually i prefer the case for leica rather than lumix . It looks nicer , but the price is also nicer XD . You know , when i saw the price of leica leather case , i just shout “WTH , why is a case more expensive than a camera lens , i can buy 10 lumix case with the price of a leica case . “

So this picture was taken in Mongkok , actually i really want to buy some figures to be bought back to my country . But i didn’t find anything interesting , so i change my mind .
and there is three question if you like a figure ,

why do you like a figure ?

how come you want to spend big ammount of money for figures ?

and what is the best company for making a figure ?

and here are all of my friends who comes to Hong Kong for the meeting 8D

Traditionally antibiotics have been given to remedy this. Yet, research in the Lancet Medical Journal suggests that 88% of children never need antibiotics, and in those that receive them the risk of reocurrence is high.

Chiropractic care, on the other hand has been found to be both safe and effective at decreasing pressure on the nerve supplying the Eustachian tube, which drains the middle ear to the back of the throat.

To learn more about how a safe, gentle and scientific, Chiropractic adjustment could TRANSFORM your health contact your chiropractor. If you are interested in a complimentary consultation, CALL the Family Chiropractic Centre, 519-837-1234.

Really not sure what’s going on with my right ear for the last few weeks. It feels like I

Really not sure what’s going on with my right ear for the last few weeks. It feels like I’m in the air – same feeling you have when you are flying. During those times all that’s needed is to pinch my nose and breath out. That pretty much pop the ears – don’t make the mistake of rubbing or pulling your ears. Ears do not pop that way. I should know, I’ve been flying before I could walk perhaps.

And then there is that fuzzy feeling all of a sudden. It’s not dizziness and not the kind of feeling you get when in sudden motion. This weird feeling I experience even when lying down or when keeping still. Slightly worried. Sometimes my theory is to ignore a symptom till it goes away. Childish maybe, but ignorance is bliss, more when you are listless.

Anyway, this has been bothering me for a while now. Maybe I should get it checked out. Then again, I’ve zero faith in medical system here which in turn only heightens my anxiety. Let me not even get started with the paperwork to fill out every time you visit the doctor, not to mention the wait after having made an appointment.

Catch-22.

Crying at a drop of a hat lately isn’t helping either. Then there is a cricket or a gecko in the garage that pretty much has me resigned from life. Seriously though tears are playing havoc with my ear passage. I’ve got to stop being a baby and just have it checked out.

Or, maybe I’ll do so in Madison, Wisconsin when I visit next month. I ought to, if I want to ski a little and go snowboarding…

Apologies if this is a repeat grumble, but every time I export an EAR file from RSA the dialog box a

Apologies if this is a repeat grumble, but every time I export an EAR file from RSA the dialog box annoys me. Well, that’s a bit unfair, it’s not the whole dialog box, just one very pointless checkbox on it…

So the first time I attempt to export to a destination which already exists, I get a helpful error preventing me doing something potentially stupid. When I know that I’m just re-exporting the same EAR and I’m happy to just overwrite the old one (which probably wasn’t working because I forgot to include something important) I just need to check the “Overwrite existing file” box to make the error go away and I can hit finish. Lovely… except that the dialog remembers this option next time I come to do an export! Basically it may as well not exist after the first export.

It’s actually a bit of a love hate relationship with this little checkbox though, because if it always defaulted to unchecked I think I’d much prefer it to having a dialog popping up asking whether I want to overwrite an existing file. Oh well, almost useful.

Anyway, it’s Friday and time to go home; check.

NEW YORK — A man from the Bronx is suing New York City after emergency workers tossed his ear, which was ripped off by his son’s bull terrier, in the trash, the New York Daily News reported.

The lawsuit filed in Bronx Supreme Court says emergency services workers placed the large chunk of the upper ear that had been ripped off of Eduardo Garcia, 67, on ice, but threw it in the garbage after arriving at Montefiore Medical Center.

“Now he’s got a deformity,” Garcia’s lawyer, Andrew Friedman, told the Daily News. “They deprived him of an opportunity to have treatment.”

Hospital records say the ear was thrown out because there was a “potential risk of contamination or infection” if it was reattached.

Friedman argues that Garcia should have been given the option to rebuild his ear, but was left with 22 stitches, two staples and a life without a lobe.

:-(

I am currently on amoxicillin, sudafed, and ibuprofen yet I still feel as if a really annoying person is poking my eardrums with a knife. To explain my current state, I’ll provide a (very) long poem.

I went to sleep last night, feeling fit and fine… knowing I didn’t have to wake up for quite sometime

Dang was I wrong to be an optimist! I was rudely awakened and became super pissed.

What possibly awoke me from my calm serene slumber? My dreams were cracked like the butt of a plumber.

A jolt of pain shot through my head! I quickly sat up and ran out of bed

My ears were throbbing and full of pressure. The way I felt was the opposite of pleasure

I had aches, pains, and was unable to hear. “Ahh what happened?” I stuttered with fear

Luckily I had my trusty phone and access to Google. I went to a free doctor website because I’m so frugal

My symptoms matched those of a bad ear infection, so I left class early to get an inspection

After hours of sitting and waiting, my ear got even worse and my patience was fading

Luckily my name was finally called, by an old woman who was not very… tall

She looked in my ears and made no mention… of a potential ear infection.

She claimed there were no problems and that I was fine. “But why am I in so much pain???” I whined

Despite her doubts, she gave me some meds. I take two during the day and one before bed

I’m not feeling better, in fact I feel worse. This all makes me want to curse

I still can’t hear and am pretty much deaf. I’m in a constant state of what the eff.

So yep. my ears hurt so much that the vibrations of listening to music send a jolt of pain throughout my entire body.

But I hope whoever’s reading this is having a pleasant evening!

So one of my students has had gross ears all year long… crusty dry itty bitty scabs itchy cons

So one of my students has had gross ears all year long…

crusty

dry

itty bitty scabs

itchy

consequently he CONSTANTLY has a finger jammed in his ears!!! Mind you this kid most likely has the cure to cancer somewhere in his brain (so smart) but socially OMG he’s a nightmare. I lovingly call him “pigpen” behind his back of course!!!

So said student was digging in his ear again during the morning. One of my program aides happened to be in the classroom with him when he PULLED an object out of his ear!!! Yes… AN OBJECT!!!

This aide was horrified by the object! And abruptly had the student dispose of the object in the classroom trashcan.

At the end of the day another aide brings this student to my room because she found out about the object! She had just taken him to the nurse’s office but she was out for the day. The student happily reports that he was shocked by what he pulled out of his ear. For this student to be shocked has me tripped out because he has the flattest affect ever, his reaction has me dieing to know!!!

This female aide and I decide that WE HAVE GOT TO KNOW what the object was!!! (Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE CSI?) So we found out which trashcan he disposed of the object in. I go to that classroom and grab the trashcan. The teacher looks at me like I’m from outer space, which in all honesty I am!!! I explain about the object and she says, “you deserve a raise.” I laugh!!! I take the trashcan back to my classroom.

The female aide and I put on our medical grade plastic gloves and begin digging through the trash. All I know is we’re looking for an object that is about 2 inches long and has a shape the looks sperm-like.

While digging we find:

many tissues that DO NOT contain boogers… thus allowing us to conclude that kids are getting out of their seats needlessly AND they are wasteful (don’t these little shits know that tissues COST MONEY?)

a couple tissues that do contain boogers

about 4 notes that had been passed back and forth between kids, most of them are ripped up into confetti

pencil shavings from an electric sharpener (these are really small and fine like the zest of a lemon)

pencil shavings from a hand-held sharpener (these are larger and have a curl to them like shaved chocolate)

Just when we were about to give up I spotted it!!!

Did I mention that our giggling drew in an audience? Kids from next door to my room came in to see what we were doing!!! They was super curious because the two of us are standing there digging through a trash can with rubber gloves on… yes we are freaks!!!

So now that we have the object we have to decide what to do with it. So of course we grab a paper plate and a ruler!!! Remember how I love CSI? Upon closer inspection we CANNOT figure out what the heck it is!!! We take pictures… it measures about 5 centimeters!!!

A few hours later I’m still at a loss for what this object is. Luckily, I’ve just told this story to my massage therapist and she’s in hysterics I sheepishly report that I have the object in my car (in a ziploc)!!! As I check out with the receptionist at the office I decide I’ve gotta get her opinion as to what this is… she is a nursing student. She takes a look a the object and says, “Q-Tip.” Holy crap… she’s right it is the tip of a Q-Tip!!!

Points to Ponder:

How long was that in his ear?

Where is shit’s sake is this kid’s mom?

Will he suffer long term damage to his hearing?

Did a little bit of his brain become fused to the end of this object? Oh shit what if the chunk of his brain that was removed was the bit that was storing the cure for cancer? We’re screwed!!!

Teacher Tip:

CSI is fun!

Knowing is ALWAYS better than not knowing!

DO NOT give this kid Q-Tips

Surround yourself with like minded staff… you’ll always have a partner in crime this way!!!

by Gary Ewer, from “The Essential Secrets of Songwriting” website:
__________

Whether you call it “having a tin ear” or “being tone deaf”, many musicians feel the great frustration of not being able to accurately label the sounds they’re hearing. It’s a sophisticated activity when you think about it: we’re essentially listening to the air vibrate, and then identifying what that was. But if those kind of listening skills are in short supply, is there any hope for you?

I teach aural skills at university, and I’ve changed my view on this over the years. While there is a window of opportunity that is wide open in childhood, slowly closing as we age, I believe that adult musicians can make great strides in training their ear, and I’ve seen it happen.

A big step toward improving your ear is to learn a bit of basic music theory. Even if it’s just the nuts and bolts of being able to name notes on a musical staff, and learning how to write out some simple scales, this knowledge will get you going in the right direction. It’s part of basic music literacy.

Beyond that, I strongly believe that transcribing music will strengthen your aural skills more than any other musical activity. Here’s what I get my own students to do: I give them sound files of different pieces: solos, duets, trios, and so on. I give them a month per song to write down what they’re hearing. I encourage them to sit at a piano, or with their guitar, and find the notes they hear. Most students find this frustrating at first, but then become surprised by how much they are learning.

This kind of transcription exercise is a bit like learning a language by speaking it. At first, you feel that you’re getting no where, and then – you realize that you’re getting better and better.

I like transcription exercises more than simple “identify the interval” or “identify the chord” exercises, because it presents real music in a musical context.

The older you are, the slower progress can be, but you mustn’t give up. I have seen people of all ages improve with these kinds of transcription exercises. If you are in your late teens or early twenties, the window of opportunity is definitely closing, but it is not closed, and you will be surprised by how much progress you can make. There are lots of sites that can play intervals and chords for you, and tell you if you’re getting close.

Singing is also a great ear trainer, especially singing that requires you to match other singers, like in a choir. And singing in choir is great because you can couple your singing training with your ability to sing what you are seeing printed on the music in front of you.

It is normal for ear training to be a long, slow process, even at the best of times. So be patient, and you will see improvement.

___________

Gary Ewer has written six songwriting e-books designed to get you writing the songs you’ve always known you could write. Read about those e-books here.
