I very recently took the plunge and invested in the Earth Reflection (609) compact because I thought some of the other color combos might be too harsh for my coloring (fair hair, blue eyes). You know that Rihanna song, Where Have You Been? Kind of how I feel about Dior eyeshadow.

The colors in the palette (clockwise from top left) include a soft gold, a bronze, a dark brown, a champagne with a golden pink in the center. The pink shade is my absolute favorite of the palette. It works incredibly well as a daytime color for blue-eyed blondes like myself because of the blue-ish shimmer undertones.

Let me tell you, this stuff is luxurious. Buttery, velvety, I could go on… and I think I will. I’m a sucker for cashmere, but had no idea that the experience of a cozy sweater could be duplicated in an eyeshadow compact.

The only issue some may have with compact is the high level of shine. All the colors have an ample amount of shimmer, which could be overwhelming, depending on your personal taste.

This eyeshadow palette is expensive, but as an investment piece, it’s worth the price. The shades transition beautifully from day to night, and look just as good solo or layered. However, the shimmer could turn off those looking for a more natural, matte finish.
