Say Xian and you talk about the terracotta warriors. The army of 8,099 life-size soldiers and horses is one of the most impressive tourist attractions in the world. But the ancient capital of China has more to offer.

Ancient capital? Yes, Xian (also Xi’an and in the past known as Chang’an) was the Empire’s main city from the 11th century BC to the early 10th century AD. A total of 73 emperors ruled China from here. Located between rivers and mountains in the southern part of Central China’s Guanzhong Plain, it was also the eastern starting-point of the famous Silk Road that connected the Far East with Europe. An historically important city, in other words, and luckily much of its historical and cultural heritage has been preserved.

Notwithstanding the glorious past Xian is a modern city and Central China’s largest industrial center. It is believed Xian was the world’s first city with a population over 1 million. Now 8 million live here.

The tourist industry has quickly developed in recent years and you can now find hotel rooms for any budget. Many eateries still offer Chinese cuisine, but fast food restaurants have become serious competitors and are popular amoung young people. The city wall

The oldest part of Xian, dominated by a huge bell tower, is surrounded by an ancient city wall with gates at the eastern, western, southern and northern side. It’s pretty wide and an attraction in itself: you can hire a bike to ride on it! But you can also walk, on the wall and around it. The wall’s illuminated at night – you’ve got to see that!

Big Wild Goose Pagoda

This is the city’s symbol. This seventh century pagoda (64 m high) is found at Ci’en Temple and offers a great view.

Great Mosque of Xian

One of China’s oldest mosques was built 685-762 at the eastern end of the Silk Road. There are still 60,000 Muslims in the city who use this mosque as their place of worship. It’s subdivided into four courtyards and renowned for its beautiful art work.

Terracotta army

The terracotta warriors were discovered in vaults in 1974 and are now called the Eighth World Wonder. They have their own museum with a floor space of 20,000 square meters. Go and see the army. Standing face to face with the warriors is a mind-blowing experience!

I’m writing this post because so many well-meaning, conscious, spiritual people are missing some significant information and tools when it comes to Law of Attraction and being a conscious cocreator of your life with Spirit.

One of my wonderful Facebook friends recently wrote a post:

“If you examine your history, you cannot help but repeat it! Law of Attraction says it is so:

‘Whatever I am looking at, I am including in my vibration.’ — Abraham”

This sparked a controversy with 19 people weighing in, many fully agreeing and many others, myself included, objecting to this as an oversimplification and stating that, even though it is true that our focus does permeate our vibration and thus create, it is actually NECESSARY to understand and heal our past in order to learn what we need to from it and be able to truly free ourselves from its hold on us and move on into something even better.

We have to put our attention on our intention BUT if we are not aligned strongly and consistently enough with our intention, if we are trying really hard to make it happen but it’s just not working, that’s a sure sign we need to do some inner healing work before we do any more manifesting and attracting and creating. It’s inner, not, outer time, first.

I feel so strongly that so many New Age, metaphysical folks are so hyped up about positive thinking and “just focus on what you want,” they are missing something vital:

For most people, with most long-term issues, simply striving to be positive and focus on their intentions is NOT enough to bring about the desired results. We need to learn from our past, and use that wisdom to create our best future, while living in and enjoying the present.

So here I go on my soap box again.

The Abraham work and all the other good Law of Attraction stuff out there is not intended to be interpreted as “Ladeeda, we can just be positive 100% of the time and only good things will come to us. All that yucky stuff from the past – I’m done with that now and all I have to do is think good thoughts and I will attract all my desires. Abracadabra!”

So allow me to bust that myth and empower you with a much more in-depth and practical approach:

1- Our past is important. Just as our current emotions are indicators of the distance between where we are at and where we want to be, our past is one of our teachers as well. We can – and indeed need to – turn our wounds into wisdom. Some of our life experiences we may label “good” or “positive,” we feel we were successful and these we can apply to continue to utilize and build upon what worked for us, while the so-called “negative” experiences or failures are also useful in several ways.

For one thing, we can clarify more clearly what, exactly we DO want by contrasting it with what we do NOT want anymore. This applies equally well to health and lifestyle choices, work, home, community, as well as relationships.

Secondly, we can learn psychologically and spiritually: What was my lesson in this?

Thirdly,we can discover, with proper reflection, which may include prayer, meditation, journaling, counseling, or even insightful conversations, that there was truly a silver lining, a gift in every experience we have had. Sometimes we don’t see it at the time, it feels horrible, we may even be devastated that that relationship or career didn’t work out, that we had that disability or lost our house, but ultimately, when we see through the eyes of Spirit and Love, we will always find that everything happened for a reason and we can find something to be grateful for, even if it’s just the ability to make a different choice next time.

2- Until we learn our lessons from the past, we are going to UNCONSCIOUSLY repeat them. This is true of humanity when we look at larger societal choices as well as on the personal level. Ignoring our past and zapping it like it didn’t even happen is not the solution. In fact, ignoring our past and stuffing it over there, oh, that’s too messy, I don’t want to deal with that right now, does not free us from it, it actually dooms us to repeat it.

3- The Abraham work says that our DOMINANT thought is the one that runs the show, and I agree with this. The catch is: Our dominant thought is seldom a conscious thought, so we cannot expect to simply push a button and “There, I’m only going to think good thoughts, feel good feelings and make good choices from now on.”

We have to heal all those billions of subconscious beliefs that we are carrying around which arose out – what? Our past experiences and programming, of course.

I do agree that many people spend far too much time simply repeating their “story,” which actually keeps them stuck in it and keeps giving it energy. There is a big difference between looping an old version of a reality we no longer want, whining about it, being a drama king/queen, vs. actually being willing to visit the past (with support if necessary) with the intention of looking in the mirror, releasing what no longer serves, with forgiveness, finding the lesson and gift in it, and moving confidently forward into a better life we are creating for ourselves, from the inside out.

Do we need to look at our past? Absolutely.Do we need to keep telling it over and over? Absolutely not.

4- We need to process stuck emotions. Sometimes we need to move some rage. Shake off some old energy. Sometimes we need to express ourselves to someone, forgive, be forgiven, and it doesn’t matter if they’re alive or dead or whether their human self is willing to hear a word we are saying. We just talk to their Higher Self, soul to soul. We look in the mirror and show them a mirror as well. I have an extensive guided meditation and energy healing journey that I guide people through called the Healing Past Relationships Journey (soon to be available as a CD/MP3 audio) which facilitates this soul-to-soul communication, energy exchange, forgiveness and healing. Or you may be able to do it for yourself, perhaps by writing a letter or through ceremony. We need to visit our past just enough to learn from it and to heal it, not rehash it or keep talking about it for decades.

We also need to forgive ourselves. And forgive God!

5- We need to heal core issues and heal on all levels.

For example, some of my recent clients have improved their relationships, found lasting love, launched their heart-centered business, created more harmony in their parenting or other family relationships…..In every case, we needed to do some deep CORE ISSUE healing at the level of the SOUL and the ENERGY FIELD, the kind of healing that is more difficult to do by one’s self when we are emotionally caught up in our “stuff,” scared, frustrated and depleted.

I do sometimes have clients who try to turn the sessions into talk therapy and keep going on and on about their problems. They are stuck in their story. So I ask them, “Do you want to talk about it or do you want to heal it?” If they keep wanting to talk about it, they are not ready for the kind of healing I do. If they want to heal it, I can help them heal themselves but we have to go much deeper than just talking. Deep omnidimensional energy healing at the soul level i.e. soul retrieval, regression, rebirthing, hypnotherapy/NLP, ceremony, forgiveness work, can be extremely helpful, especially if a person is unable to break free of an old belief/energy. We shift the energy & belief at the original cause and core. I channel empowering self-healing techniques they can do on their own to continue the healing and keep building the positive energy.

We don’t ever have to be 100% healed, nor is that even possible so long as we are human. But we need to be healed enough to be free to focus on what we do want, move forward and create from an aligned, clear, positive state of being and love.

6- ALIGN, ATTRACT, ACT.

People so caught up in the Law of Attraction who simply read a few books, go to a few workshops, watch a couple of movies, often fail to understand that trying to get into ACTION mode before you are ALIGNED does not work. Law of Attraction works – once we are aligned with our desires. If some part of our subconscious mind or energy field is still playing the tape of a limiting, negative belief, we are not going to be able to just attract what we want, no matter how many affirmations we say or vision boards we make!

7 – I want to make one more point about the past and this concept of time. We can only live in one time: the present. We need to heal and learn from our past and draw upon its power, we need to envision and align with our best future, and yet we can only live right here, right now. All times exist in this moment of choice: now.

I personally feel we need to spend MOST of our attention right here, where we live. In this body. On this planet. Enjoying this life to the fullest. Mindful. Heartful. Soulful. Bodyful. Beautiful! When we work with the concept of time as fluid and simultaneous and quantum rather than linear, we find that every moment is a portal home.

We can also change our past shamanically, redream it. This helps us create our best future as well. This can be done through shamanic trance healing and/or conscious dreaming.

We each have the power to facilitate miraculous healing and success beyond our wildest imagination. We don’t have to spend years healing the past. We can heal it in an instant, or it may take several months or longer, but if we go deep enough and work at the level of the soul, core beliefs and original causes, the quantum and cosmic fields and on all levels, if we do this work with a vibration of love for ourselves and all beings, we will grow into being who we came here to be.

I love the Abraham work but sometimes a phrase taken by itself does not present the complexities of the spiritual nature of the Universe. True healing and conscious creation of our lives will always involve navigating the territory of our past with loving kindness and forgivness, with an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow so we can create an even better future. And we can do this today.

I was watching a television network I’d never watched before called Ovation TV. The network is dedicated to discussing and exploring arts of all kinds. It’s been a long time since I had really given the arts much thought since they don’t play much of a role in my daily life working in the marketing department of a credit union. It was, however, very refreshing to hear about how the arts impact our daily lives in ways we don’t think about.

One such program was called Designer People. On this program they interview and explore the art of designers of various types (i.e. interior, industrial, fashion, etc.). The episode I saw explored the design of Kenji Ekuan, the man behind such diverse designs as Yamaha motorcycles, a Buddhist temple, and the Kikkoman soy sauce bottle. He mused that the Japanese saw things as more interconnected because of their Buddhist beliefs. He pointed to what he saw as a contrast: in Christianity man is created by God, whereas, in Buddhism, man is created by the universe. That got me thinking about another thing that I don’t have a lot of occasion to explore in my daily life. It’s a concept I learned so long ago that I cannot even begin to piece together who taught it to me: All truth is God’s truth.

What do I mean by that? I simply mean that everything we find to be true is true because God made it to be so and we have no need to be afraid of it. The most immediate example of this is the man’s statement about how everything is so interconnected. You don’t need to be a Buddhist to believe that. To me, it’s evident from a passage in Colossians:

He [Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
(Col 1:15-17 ESV)

I believe this idea has a lot of practical application. It means wherever we find people engaging in things that are “true,” Christians can join with them in those activities. For instance, we’re told that God has ordained government to punish wrongdoers. That should mean that whenever we see government doing this, that Christians can join together with them.

However, I believe this principle means that if we can show that something is “true,” whether or not we have direct biblical evidence of its truth, that we can join in with its “true” aspects. Let’s consider some Eastern practices such as the martial arts or meditation. Some Christians shy away from these practices and some even denounce them as wrong because they’ve been traditionally associated with Eastern philosophy. However, the question we should be asking is “are they ‘true’?” Do they produce the results they claim? The answer is yes and so Christians should have no problem joining with their practice. However, that doesn’t mean we have to accept their connected philosophy. Tai Chi works just the same whether you’re a Buddhist, a Hindu, or a Christian.

To believe otherwise we would have to believe that the Western world had a monopoly on all truth and that the rest of the world learned nothing true we didn’t bring to them. Such an assertion, I would hope, appears as false as it is. Many of the things we cherish most in the West, such as democracy, were invented by pagan cultures. When we recognized the “truth” in them, however, we removed their pagan philosophy and kept what was “true.”

Is there a danger we could fall prey to some of their philosophy? Yes. However, that’s always been true. We need look no further than the way the Western world held to Plato and Aristotle as if their philosophy was Bible truth for hundreds of years or the way many today accept the atheism of modern science. The answer isn’t to reject the truth we learn from these sources but to learn to separate the truth from the fiction.

But Israel threatens retaliation if U.N. approves Palestinian state

A top Palestinian Authority official told WND that the PA reached an understanding with the Obama administration regarding a Palestinian threat to unilaterally ask the United Nations to recognize a Palestinian state outside of negotiations with Israel.

Ahmed Qurei, former PA prime minister and member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization executive committee, said in an interview that the PA “reached an understanding with important elements within the administration” to possibly bring to the U.N. Security Council a resolution to unilaterally create a Palestinian state.

Asked to which “elements” he was referring, Qurei would only say they were from the Obama administration.

A top PA negotiator, speaking on condition of anonymity, named the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, and National Security Council member Samantha Power as among the Obama administration officials who were involved with the Palestinians’ U.N. threat.

Despite widespread assumptions the U.S. would veto any such U.N. Security Council resolution, the PA negotiator said that in initial discussions, the Obama administration did not threaten to veto their conceptual unilateral resolution.

“The U.S. told us that they prefer a negotiated settlement with Israel, but if we (Palestinians) insist on a resolution, the Americans will not necessarily reject it,“ the PA negotiator said.

WRONG. We AMERICANS absolutely reject it. BHussein and his cronies do; and they do NOT count as Americans. They stand for NOTHING that America represents. They stand for hate, fraud, deceit, lies, and destroying the fundamental elements of our country.

“The U.S. has a history of never before vetoing any U.N. move to create a new state,” the negotiator pointed out.

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said yesterday the Palestinians had decided to turn to the U.N. Security Council to unilaterally declare a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and eastern Jerusalem.

YOU can’t expect ANYONE in the world to expect the Israelis to give JERUSALEM over to the fucking shitstain Palestinians. Jerusalem was given to Israel by GOD. Nobody has the power to force Israel to give up Jerusalem – LET ALONE any other bit of their land. FUCK that noise.

Separately, the negotiator, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the Obama administration is “totally on board” with a plan by Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to create a state on the pre-1967 borders within two years.

WND first reported in September that according to a top PA official, the Obama administration has largely adopted the positions of the Palestinian West Bank leadership to create a Palestinian state within two years based on the pre-1967 borders, meaning Israel would retreat from most of the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem.

The PA negotiator WND spoke with yesterday said that his authority’s primary goal now is to secure a letter of support from the Obama administration affirming the U.S. commitment to a pre-1967 Palestinian state within two years.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday hit back at the PA plan to unilaterally declare a state, warning such a move will be met by “one-sided Israeli measures.” He did not elaborate.

That’s RIGHT. Because Netanyahu is a MAN. A true man. A great leader who cares about the people he serves. I wish WE had a Netanyahu. But no, we have a shitball.

“There is no substitute for negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority and any unilateral attempts outside that framework will unravel the existing agreements between us and could entail unilateral steps by Israel,” Netanyahu told a high-level gathering of Israeli and American policy makers at the Saban Forum in Jerusalem.

Netanyahu stressed that in order to achieve peace, “negotiations must resume immediately.” He affirmed Israel was prepared to begin talks “with a generous spirit.”

“I want to stress that we are willing to take steps that will help in advancing the peace process, but it must begin, there is no reason to waste time,” said the Israeli leader.

While negotiations were not easy, Netanyahu said, “there is no other way to bring about change.”

In September, a senior PA official told WND that aside from supporting a Palestinian state in the pre-1967 borders, the Obama administration also had accepted the PA position that Israeli-Palestinian negotiations begin where they left off under Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who went further than previous Israeli leaders in his concessions to the Palestinians.

Olmert reportedly offered the PA not only 95 percent of the West Bank and peripheral eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods but also other territories never before offered by any Israeli leader, including parts of the Israeli Negev desert bordering Gaza as well as sections of the Jordan Valley.

“We understand from the U.S. that the Netanyahu government is not in a position to go against creating a state within two years,” the PA official said.

The official claimed the Obama administration was ready to ultimately consider “sanctions” against Israel if the Netanyahu government rejected negotiations leading to a Palestinian state. The official refused to clarify which sanctions he was referring to or whether he was specifically told by the U.S. government it would consider sanctions.

The PA official claimed Obama can make a “headache” for Netanyahu if the Israeli leader does not conduct negotiations leading within two years to a Palestinian state.

FUCK you, Barack Hussein Obama. I don’t care WHERE you stand, but I stand behind Israel. Sure, I’m just one small person. Just little ol’ me… but I understand the importance and significance of our relationship with Israel. They are not only our allies POLITICALLY – but they are also our brothers. Our brothers in Christ.

On Aug. 31st 2009, Geico underwriting companies requested an increase in automotive insurance rates for their New Jersey Policies with the NJ department of banking and insurance. 

The the rate increase could affect 170,000 Geico auto  insurance customers for New Jersey.  It’s reported that some people may be looking at an increase of more than 17% !! 

Geico’s recent request for raising their rates falls after the settlement of a class action law-suit in which NJ customers who purchased online didn’t receive adequate personal injury protection to meet state laws.

There’s more wrangling on the BBC about the possibility of High Speed Two, an actual, real, cross-country service to improve on the fact that we have a piddling 68 miles of track reserved largely for Eurostar in the whole country. Even if it does go pretty much from my house in Ashford.

The service, which would go roughly from London to Edinburgh/Glasgow through Leeds/Manchester – unless its creators were totally stupid and only took it to Birmingham, as has been suggested – would cost a huge amount of money. Since it’s estimated the Birmingham section alone would take until 2025, I’m not inclined to trust figures. An article only a few months ago says the line would be open by 2023. Heard of inflation at all?

But I think it needs to be done. And why? Because, like with any special commuter time-saving investment, like a bridge (hooray for the £5.40 Severn crossing!) the government makes the money back not just through taxes, but tolls.

Not many outside Kent know Southeastern charges a whopping £8.10 supplement on a ticket that costs around £14 for a young person if you want to ‘upgrade’ to a high speed return – not only have fares in Kent risen more than the rest of the country on average, but you pay on top of them to get what they’re actually paying for, too.

So what’s the problem with investing the money? Just like with the banks (who by the way have received far more than High Speed Two will) it’s an “investment”. They’re not handing money out on a platter – they’re going to get it back.

And besides, if we have a new fares algorithm to get us up to Scotland, then perhaps it’ll spare us things like this. See below. I think I’d rather buy my own train.

The nearest airport to Tawang is Tezpur in Assam ther are also helicopter services between Tawang and Tezpur. the nearest railway station is in Rangapara in Assam. Tawang is a beautiful place not to be missed especially the Buddhist monastery which is the largest in the country.

Tear Down the Last Wall!

Two decades have elapsed since November 9, 1989, when the border separating Western from Eastern Germany was effectively opened.

Prime Minister George Papandreou attended the events, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, held yesterday in Berlin. The premier called for the last wall still dividing a European city, Nicosia, to be brought down and stressed that “as Greeks and Europeans, we can shout: Tear down the last wall, the one that divides Cyprus into two.” In Berlin, Papandreou held also a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during which they discussed issues of mutual interest. Kathimerini daily: PM sets sights on Cyprus wall

“Breaking Down Walls, Building Bridges”

In Greece, the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall was commemorated in a special event, titled “Breaking down walls, building bridges” on November 8 at the City of AthensTechnopolis.

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas and the German Ambassador in Greece Wolfgang Schultheissaddressed the event, stressing the great importance of the fall of the Berlin wall, which has become the “symbol of freedom for all humanity.” The event organised under the auspices of the German Embassy in Athens. Droutsas also addressed the OSCE event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in Vienna on November 6.

Conference: The Image of Germany

Τhe Association of Greek Press Attachés and the German Embassy in Athens are holding, on November 12, a conference titled “The public image of Germany,” at the Amphitheatre of theTheocharakis Foundation.

The event is being held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, the 20th anniversary since the fall of the Wall and 10th anniversary since the transfer of the country’s capital from Bonn to Berlin.
Experts from Germany and Greece will discuss how the image of Germany has changed over the years, from the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, until the fall of the Berlin Wall and the restoration of the unity of the country [Programme, in Greek]. Government Spokesman George Petalotis will address the event. International Communication Policy Forum: “The Public Image of Germany“

I have called it the Summers Cemetery although it is a solitary stone.

Directions are:  Turn left on to Big Spring Road from Highway 41 to Manchester.  Then turn right onto Arnold Road.  The stone is located on the left about 1/4 mile down

Someone had recently cut bushes and trees from around the stone is the only reason I saw it.  It may have grown up again since then.

Pitt-Dill Cemetery – NE on Lascassas Pike (Hwy 96E), after road (left) to Oakland High School, cemetery is on right (E) side of road 1/10 mile N of Bushnell Creek Bridge on Hwy 96 about 250 feet from road in a grove of pine trees. 40 or more unmarked graves covered by ivy ground cover.  

This was originally the property of Joseph and Mary Polly Wright Dill who build the cabin circa 1815. They are buried here on a little rise. Their graves were once marked by a log enclosure which has become part of the growth and soil accumulation on their graves. There is a small stone which appears to be the top of an old marker over one of the graves. There are probably other Dill family members buried here.

The Pitts family owned the property in more recent times and the home site has been owned by the George Todd family for 30+ years, 2008.

Milton Quadrangle:  LOCATION: The cemetery is located  about one and one third miles NE of Milton, TN., and about one half mile from the road on a private farm access road. Seek permission before going to cemetery. The cemetery is located next to where an abandoned church (probably Presbyterian) once stood. Some of the foundation of the church remains. It is not known when the church was moved but the last recorded stone is dated 1871. The cemetery is not fenced and is in poor condition with mature trees standing among the stones.  The standing stones appeared to have been reset so they may not be in their original position. Other stones could be buried but since no attempt was made to locate others, the five standing stones are all that were recorded.

Concerning the Patterson family, John Patterson was the father of Robert Wilson Patterson. Samuel was the son of Robert Wilson Patterson. The infant daughter was the child of John Patterson’s daughter, Rebecca and her husband, AS (Alexander Smith) Dickson. The Patterson stones were professionally cut but the Farr stone seemed to be of fieldstone and was extremely difficult to read. The cemetery may not be in existence for many more years. The stones are currently very hard to read and it will not take much more weathering to completely erase the names and dates.
