[fr] Le designer bruxellois Alain Berteau a été nominé, dans la catégorie “Home” à l’Index Award 2007 de Copenhague pour la création d’un siège dont l’emballage en carton, utilisé pour l’expédition du meuble, sert ensuite de structure que l’on habille d’une housse en polyester. Le siège, qui a la forme d’un polyèdre, reste solide et peut servir de table.
Existe dans un rouge lumineux, et également en gris-brun et dans deux nuances de vert. Diffusion par la firme néerlandaise Montis (100 €, port compris).

[en] Alain Berteau, Belgian designer has been nominated, category “Home”, for the Copenhagen Index Award 2007. His seat Cover is a package-framed, no waste furniture. He presents the idea : “The box contains a foam pad and a nice upholstered cover in recycled polyester fabric. Everything is used, there is absolutely no waste, no package to throw away. Ecology means economy ? Less energy needed for manufacturing and shipping, and less recycling. Ecology means quality and convenience ? Cover is not a gadget or a disposable product. It’s a gorgeous, lasting piece of furniture using the best green materials available. After a while you forgot its cardboard inside, but if you’re moving, just use the box again ! Ecology is evolutivity ? In the future, packaging will be fully integrated to the products in a smart and simple way. COVER stool is the first piece of a complete range.”
Top nominees for the 2007 award will be made public on this site in late February 2007. Top nominees will be exhibited from August 17 – September 24, 2007 at Kongens Nytorv Square in central Copenhagen.
