The waterwheel quilt block is one of those blocks that looks like it would be complicated to sew.

It’s a great quilt for either strip piecing or using scraps from your stash.

It was a song from when quilting daughter, Stephanie, was in preschool. I don’t remember much of it, and I haven’t thought about it in some time.

But as I began to write this evening, these words popped into my head – “they’re all in their places with smiles on their faces.”

I probably wish I could remember the rest – but those words say it all.

The holidays are officially over now. Last Tuesday I put engineering son, Bubba, on a plane back to Indianapolis and his work and school.

Mom is back to her routine without the interruption of holiday comings and goings – much as she enjoyed the variety in activities.

And now I can get fully back to work and planning a new year.
