[...] No meio de tanto conteúdo o documentário Us Now me rouba a atenção.

Us Now is a British documentary which looks at and online networks and the self-governing structures which make them possible. The premise is that that we can all be the government and top-down bureaucratic structures will be eventually replaced. The potential of social networks, new technologies and the internet generally, the type of participation demonstrated in the examples used, it is claimed could change the way way countries are governed. The film uses several examples to argue the point: opensource software Linux OS, CouchSurfing, mums helping each other on Mumsnet, loans from people not banks at Zopa. Slicethepie, a platform enabling music artists to get financing from fans, who can also earn money from reviewing and promoting. The fans of EbbsFleet United who own, manage and pick the players of their football team. Access to technology, I thought was neglected from the discusssion. If the means of production was to change (in the ways suggested) surely everyone would need to have access? What do you think? Leave a comment.

This week we turn our attentions to my home town, Gravesend and get an update on how Ebbsfleet are d

This week we turn our attentions to my home town, Gravesend and get an update on how Ebbsfleet are doing from our resident Man of Kent, Glenn Bowie.

So Glenn, nearly a quarter of the season gone, how has the season gone so far for The Fleet?
Not the greatest of starts to be honest with only one win and five draws from our first eleven games. This leaves us sitting just 2 points above the relegation places. Almost the entire first team squad was released last season so it’s nearly a completely new team. However, the team is now starting to gel and we have moved out of the bottom four relegation places so we’re moving in the right direction.

Still Gravesend & Northfleet to me

What is the situation with Myfootballclub? Last season was the vote to determine whether they would still continue to invest – what happened in the end?
The Myfootball club membership renewal figures reduced from something like 30,000 to 9,000 which really hit us hard in terms of the playing budget for this season. We had to release the majority of last season’s first team squad and had to put a new team together, basically made up of pre-season trialists who had been released by League clubs. It does seem that the 9,000 members that are left in the venture are in it for the long-term and continue to support The Fleet. So for the foreseeable future, Myfc are here to stay.

The club has attracted some big name sponsorship – a kit supplied by Nike and sponsored by Eurostar. Has that given the club a boost?
We attracted alot of big sponsorship deals when the Myfc deal was announced and in addition to Eurostar & Nike we had EA Sports sponsoring the back of our shirts as well. The Nike deal has now ended but we have secured a deal with Vandanel for this season. The Eurostar sponsorship continues which if I’m right is up for renewal at the end of next season.

What’s the best team you’ve seen Ebbsfleet play this season?
So far I’d say Cambridge United. Although we produced a great first half display against them, they really stepped up a gear in the second half and were far too quick and clinical for us on the break and we ended up losing 3-1.

What have the home crowd been like at Stonebridge Road this season?
Given that we haven’t seen the team win at home so far this season, (our only win came away at Eastbourne Borough), the crowd have pretty much backed the team. The performances have been good but we have struggled to score goals. We’ve pretty much matched the teams we have played and really should of had wins instead of draws against Rushden & Diamonds and AFC Wimbledon.

Liam Daish was rumoured to be off to Cambridge a few weeks ago, how did the fans react to that?
With the very minimal finances he is having to work with the season and having to rebuild the team from scratch alot of fans were of the feeling that they wouldn’t blame him if he went. It would have been an offer I don’t think he would of turned down and there was a rumour that he did in fact have an interview for the post before it was offered to Martin Ling.

Almost a second

Do you agree that the Blue Square Premier is an unfair playing field due to the structure of promotion/relegation from the football league? Luton Town, Wrexham, Cambridge United and Oxford United all attract crowds on a par with League Two (and One in some instances) clubs, yet others such as Hayes & Yeading and Gateshead barely get 400 people. Is that right?
I love it when the so-called big ex-League clubs come down to the Blue Square Premier as the majority of their fans have the arrogance that they shouldn’t be here, etc, etc. The majority of the teams that come down don’t usually go straight back up which gives an indication that the Blue Square Premier is a good League. The away following of the ex-league clubs does help the smaller clubs in terms of finances when they visit. We usually get between 900-1,000 but this usually increases to 1,500-2,000 when an ex-League club comes visiting.

What are the best expectations for the season?
Realistically it’s still got to be to finish just above the bottom 4. With the announcement that we have purchased our Ground last week (see here for details), this should give us something to build on for the future of the club and help us achieve our aim of getting into the football league in a few years time…..hopefully!

You can sign one player on a free – who would it be?
Thierry Henry. I’ve had the pleasure to watch, live, many great footballers around the world but he’s one of the best I’ve seen. Maybe more on our level, I would always welcome back Charlie MacDonald from Brentford. Whilst only having Charlie with us for a couple of seasons, he was without doubt a class goalscorer and probably the best finisher in I’ve seen in a Fleet shirt since the great days of our all-time leading goalscorer, Mr Stevie Portway.

Thanks Glenn for the update. We will be down to Stonebridge Road later in the season for the game versus Luton Town in March next year. For details of our previous trip, have a read of the post here.

One of the principle ingredients of innovation is capturing good ideas. ”Designers at IDEO, w

One of the principle ingredients of innovation is capturing good ideas. ”Designers at IDEO, which is based in Palo Alto, California, seem obsessed with learning about materials and products they have no immediate user for. At lunch one day, we watched two engineers take apart the napkin container to look at the springs inside.” (Source: Building an Innovation Factory, Hargadon & Sutton) Additionally, open source software has shown us that the masses of innovative product users can drive innovation by overcoming the inbred ways of thinking in corporate environments that shun openness.

It stands to reason that a larger pool of people capturing good ideas can play a role in increasing innovation capacity, provided that an effective experimentation and measuring process is place.

When Sony “set up a web site to support hackers who are interested in exploring and developing new types of games that could be played on the Sony PlayStation… it quickly attracted 10,000 participants, a number that vastly exceeds the number of in-house and contract developers creating games for the PlayStation. It’s likely that, taken individually, in-house developers are technically more skilled than most user-developers. But the user-developer community mobilized by Sony is diverse in its skills and interests.” (Source: Creating Breakthroughs at 3M, Hippel & Co.)

Just as we know that the inbreeding of royal familes of yore led to predictably bad results, inbreeding of a company’s idea generators is also bad. Openness is the solution, and thus I present to you the top 15 companies from The Open 100 from NESTA Connect.

It’s very easy to get carried away reading blogs, especially with the automatically generated links that often appear at the bottom of them. I just read first a post on smoke in English football back in the day – in a way that I can’t really hope to imagine, soccer players a hundred years ago must have found it almost impossible to run given the air quality. I find even cigarette smoke noxious nowadays with smoking bans all over the place, and can’t imagine trying to play a game in a smoke-filled environment…

I was then taken on to an article on corruption in soccer over the years – back when safety regulation was sparse if at all existent, and player power was restricted by various regulations, soccer clubs must have been lucrative businesses for owners, and hence one can only imagine the scope for corruption…

Finally, the automatically generated links took me to an article in Time about Ebbsfleet United, a soccer club in Kent owned by a website, MyFootballClub.co.uk. The members of the website vote on various matters related to the club, such as team selection, although the club manager has to make second-by-second decisions out there on the soccer field in-match. The team finished mid-table last season in the Football Conference, English football’s fifth division and one division below the Football League. The novelty is likely well worn off now for this club, given the Time article was written in November 2007, so it will be interesting to see where this experiment in the running and financing of a soccer club gets to in the coming season…

After a morning introducing the students to HTML, the afternoon session in week 1 gave the students a chance to step away from the computer screens and have a general discussion around the uses of social networks.

As a way of sparking dicussion we showed a film called Us Now, a film project about the power of mass collaboration and the internet.

The film featured the following examples of Internet-based group collaboration/organisation:

Mumsnet

Couch Surfing

Directionless

Ebbsfleet United

mySociety

Zopa

Wikipedia

Linux

The film isn’t a perfect teaching tool – it’s overlong in places, in some cases some better examples could have been used and not everything chimes with the realities of Internet access in the developing world.

However, the general themes raised are good, in particular the possibility of using the internet to enable mass collaboration.

Many themes came out in the discussions, with the different classes of school students, teachers and community organisations all bringing a different perspective. Topics included:

the pros and cons of crowdsourcing

privacy issues

the lack of ubiquitous access to the Internet (especially vulnerable people in developing countries)

spam, malware and viruses

the reliability and accurracy of Wikipedia as an educational tool

organisations following their audiences by establishing a presence on social networks

Last night I was on a panel following a special screening of the documentary “Us Now” in

Last night I was on a panel following a special screening of the documentary “Us Now” in Parliament. It’s a fascinating film which examines the nature of traditional power in a world where people are able to organise themselves so effectively online.

Case studies featured in the film include the football club Ebbsfleet United (now owned by a group of football fans who, organising themselves online, purchased a 75% share) and Zopa, the social lending website which claims to be the only bank that is actually liked by its customers.

And, inevitably, the film looked at what effect the internet revolution will have (and is having) on our democracy – and Helena Kennedy, Rupa Huq, Sion Simon, Ivo Gormley (the film’s director) and I took part in a panel discussion on that very subject following the screening.

Inevitably, there were some disagreements. Rupa Huq, for example, quite reasonably questioned whether the Number 10 petitions site could ever be taken seriously after hosting such petitions as “Jeremy Clarkson for Prime Minister” – which went on to gather over 50,000 votes.

Ivo Gormley answered this point perfectly, arguing that the reason that so many of these “joke” petitions are posted and subsequently voted up is that the public realise that none of them will make one bit of difference and therefore treat the site with disdain.

It was a far more articulate version of something I had raised earlier – that the Number 10 site basically allows the Government to do online what it excels at offline: ignore people’s concerns.

In David Cameron’s recent speech in Milton Keynes, he set out plans to transfer control from the powerful (the government) to the powerless (the public). But what role does the internet have in this?

Watch “Us Now” (in the best traditions of the internet, Ivo has made it available to watch in full here) and let me know your thoughts. Either leave a comment on this blog post, send me an e-mail, or contact me on Twitter – I’m @craigelder.

US Now:

Us Now takes a look at how this type of participation could transform the way that countries are governed. It tells the stories of the online networks whose radical self-organising structures threaten to change the fabric of government forever.

Us Now follows the fate of Ebbsfleet United, a football club owned and run by its fans; Zopa, a bank in which everyone is the manager; and Couch Surfing, a vast online network whose members share their homes with strangers.

The founding principles of these projects — transparency, self-selection, open participation — are coming closer and closer to the mainstream of our social and political lives. Us Now describes this transition and confronts politicians George Osborne and Ed Milliband with the possibilities for participative government as described by Don Tapscott and Clay Shirky amongst others.

Our Baseball Haven (OBH), a venture based in New Haven, Connecticut, takes the fantasy sports model to the extreme. Based on a business model that originated with an English minor league soccer club (Ebbsfleet United), OBH seeks to bring a baseball team to New Haven that is owned and controlled by the masses. For $100, one can become an owner and vote on everything from concessions, lineups, transactions and the team name and uniforms. Voting will be conducted through the internet and an interactive social media site.

Nothing could have made “the best fans in the world” happier. But Shearer has rightly been critical of Mike Ashley. There must be doubt as to whether Shearer will remain as manager over the long-term if Ashley remains as owner of the club.

Newcastle has previously given us “the people’s bank” – Northern Rock. Barcelona’s co-operative model of ownership is probably the closest that football has got to the people’s club. Andy Burnham has spoken warmly of this. So has Geoff Mulgan on the much smaller scale of Ebbsfleet United. If Ashley’s ownership is the bar to Shearer staying, then the obstacle to a long-term period of management from Shearer would be overcome by deploying Barcelona’s co-operative model and giving us the Premiership’s first people’s club. This might prove that Newcastle’s fans are, indeed, the best in the world.

So the MLS season is a short 12 days away, which means it’s time for us to get off our asses and start writing on here again. We’ve got big things planned for this year. Weekly pre and post game analysis of Fire matches, the odd commentary on foreign leagues, and plenty of miscellaneous bric-a-brac to keep us (and hopefully you as well) mildly entertained. Pretty lofty goals for two guys who can barely remember to bathe on a regular basis…

L.A.'s Galaxy will have one less star in 2009.

It has been a fairly uneventful offseason, domestically speaking, with the exception being the clusterfuck in America’s asshole (i.e. Los Angeles). The “will-he-or-won’t-he” David Beckham soap opera appears to finally be coming to an end with a deal reported to be struck between the Gals and the Rossoneri (which I still think sounds like a drug for erectile dysfunction). Essentially what is “supposed” to happen (and I mean that very loosely, as nothing ever plays out how it’s supposed to in this league) with Mr. Spice is that he will play out the rest of the Serie A campaign in Milan, then rejoining L.A. 17 games into the season just in time to collect his final round of Boos before buying out the remaining time on his contract with the roll of cash he keeps tucked in his armani tighty whiteys, before hightailing it back to the San Siro. While this may give creedance to the global view of MLS as a bush-rate feeder league who is able to be pushed around by the powers that be of European football, the real victims here are the nation’s thrift stores who will soon be inundated with thousands of Herbalife™ 23 jerseys, which were bought at upwards of $70, but sold for 98¢ (49¢ if you go on ½ price Wednesdays). Keep your chin up though Salvation Army and Goodwill, just keep them in a giant box by the busted appliances, they make great dishtowels!

The other big (again… depending on what you consider big) news out of LA-LA land is the Gal’s favorite balding son will be returning this coming season. That’s right, you heard it here last, Landycakes swings and misses for the third time in das Bundesliga, striking out and returning to the good ol’ U.S. of A (the only country in which Primadononvan seems to score). It’s a sad state of affairs when “the best current American soccer player” is still playing domestically and a good majority of his USMNT teammates are off in various parts of the world on prestigious teams. Granted, only a handful of them are dressing, and even less actually making an appearance on the pitch, but at least they’re out there living the dream. Maybe he should just go Ebbsfleet United style, use his own cash to buy a financially struggling 4th or 5th tier team, and sign himself. Though he still wouldn’t be granted any playing time. Americans don’t play soccer well you know.

Jedenfalls nichts allzu wichtiges.

Dattenfeld, Aachen, Duisburg, Bielefeld.

Wesentlich sorgenvoller stimmen mich da Nachrichten vom englischen Vorbild. Laut diesem Guardian-Artikel steht Ebbsfleet United wohl in finanziellen Untiefen.

Reports of the possible demise of the internet-owned non-league club Ebbsfleet United raise questions about the viability of fan-ownership schemes once the novelty wears off.

This week, the renewals are due for MyFootballClub.co.uk, the fan website that, last year, brought Conference club Ebbsfleet United. The numbers, so far, do not look good for the club.

Over at Soccerlens I crunch through the numbers and try my best to analyse why there’s been such a drop in membership (if my figures are correct, about 20 thousand won’t renew) and also what this means for the club.

It probably won’t be pretty.

When I first heard about MyFC, I was naturally cynical. I’ve spent enough time watching, reading and reporting on football and have seen enough ambitious and often hare-brained schemes collapse.

MyFC always seemed a bit different.

There was always a chance it would work, that the club would achieved success and, buoyed by that, it attracted legions of more fans and would be able to compete in the league.

There was also a (to me) higher chance that the voting elements, especially fans voting on picking the team, would cause more problems than it was worth. And the idea of a business model based on an unpredictable number of yearly subscribers looked shaky.

That said, even I’m surprised at how quickly things look like they’ve started to go wrong. I always maintained the idea would have short-term success but the acid test would come about two or three seasons down the line. Looks like my estimate was a little out.

Ebbsfleet were owned by fans but not owned by their fans. That, I think, was always going to be a key issue.

Anyway, that’s the article. Read. Comment. Bookmark. Pass it on. And if there’s anything you can add to it, please do.

Ebbsfleet United are the world’s first and only web-community owned football club. With over 3

Ebbsfleet United are the world’s first and only web-community owned football club. With over 30,000 members, Ebbsfleet, formerly Gravesend and Northfleet, is owned by it’s fans, who have each paid £35 for the privilege of being able to decide if the manager stays or goes, or if they should sign a tough no-nonsense centre back or a free scoring striker.

The community is thriving. There are over 25,000 posts in the club’s forums each month as well as a bustling chatroom where all the big topics are debated. This is the perfect example of a community saying what they want and doing just that.

This is, it could be argued, the first example of social media having an impact on people who are involved, without them knowing it. To many of the fans, it could be safe to assume that they are involved because of the chance to own part of a football club – something that doesn’t happen very often – and to have thier say in the running of the team.

What they are in fact doing, is taking part in a huge experiment to see if a group of people who have never met can work together with the Internet as the primary conduit. So far, it would appear, it’s working. Ebbsfleet are mid table in this season’s Blue Square Premiership, which is four promotions away from English football’s top flight, and they won the FA Trophy last year.

Following on from Danny Brown’s post about a social media soccer team, it got me thinking how possible it would be to actually put one together in the Ebbsfleet model.

The first challenge would be working out how to garner revenue on a regular basis, before even thinking about making money through the club itself. There could be a one off fee each season, as with Ebbsfleet, but are there enough Twitter users who would be prepared to get involved and put their hard earned cash into such a (possibly doomed) project?

Another issue would be deciding where the team should be based, let’s call them Twitter UK FC for now. London would make sense due to population density and potential supporter base, but, this would alienate users in the farthest reaches of the UK. So perhaps Birmingham, in the middle of the country would make sense.

Then, finding a stadium would be tough. We’d need to find a suitable space or disused ground that a council would be persuaded to let us use – and then of course we’d need to lease it. The easy part would be finding players and getting the club into a Football Association league!

The Ebbsfleet story is compelling, and it has only just begun and I will be watching with great interest to see if this community run club can make it’s way to the football league and one day face Manchester United in a league game.

Let’s get one things straight….It’s not Ebbsfleet, it’s Gravesend & Northfleet. Money may be able to alter the future but the past is past and the club now owned by a million people around the globe who sold out so spectacularly last year still represent my home growing up, and the venue of legends for a player in the Gravesend Under 12 league. You see having been poached at such an early age by Milton & Denton I enjoyed years of success through boys and then youth football and the cumulation of most seasons was the Cup Final which was played at Stonebridge Road, home of Gravesend & Northfleet.

The club at the time bounced around the Alliance Premier League as it was called then, playing local derbies against Dartford in front of crowds of 4-5,000. Then football changed and “the fleet” found themselves in the Southern League trying desperately to get back to the big time. It took a bold move in switching divisions to the Rymans Premier League to get them back on track as with non-league legend Steve Portway scoring hatricks for fun in between cashing cheques still for NatWest. In 2002 the club eventually returned to the Conference league after winning the Ryman’s league, holding off a strong challenge from Aldershot Town.

Since 2002 the club have sat firmly in lower middle table, not threatening anyone. And then came three life altering events. In the summer of 2007 Eurostar surprised the footballing world that they had agreed a sponsorship deal with the Fleet in recognition of the opening of the new Ebbsfleet station less than half a mile away from Stonebridge Road. In return for a few first class tickets to Lille at Christmas, the club changed their name at the drop of a hat to Ebbsfleet United.

Six months later the club, with their fancy new name hit the footballing headlines around the world when they became the first ever club to be taken over by Myfootballclub.com, a consortium of football fans around the world who had clubbed together on the internet and raised just over a £1m by paying £35 each in exchange for a say in team affairs. The original plan was to get all 3,000 members to vote on team selection, transfers and tactics but this has not happened, fortunately – the lunatics have not taken over this asylum YET! As if the whole story was being covered by Boys Own Magazine or a story featuring Roy Race the club went onto to reach the FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium where they beat Torquay United 1-0.

I’d been a regular visitor in the past but not since the takeover in February 2007. The last time I visited was when Barnet were the opposition, managed by Martin Allen in a 2-2 draw. What amazed me at the time was the poor state of repair of the ground which was without doubt one of the ugliest in the top levels of English football. It must have been one of the only grounds in the country that has power lines draping between two huge pylons across the ground. There was no real main stand, just one covered seating area with 7 rows of seats, but even that nearly lost part of the roof when a ball landed on it.

So with West Ham playing on Sunday this week I took the opportunity of a short drive down to Gravesend to watch the game versus one of the most hated teams in Non-League football still, Rushen & Diamonds. I’m not going into the whole history of Rushden’s formation but safe to say that the excessive investments made by Max Greggs and his Doc Martens company literally bought them the league and their passage into the Football League structure. Promotion to the third tier soon followed, but as soon as Sugar Daddy Greggs pulled the plug on his investment the club slid down the league and two consecutive relegations saw them back in the non-leagues. They may have the best stadium in the non-leagues nowadays but with crowds half of what they saw in the Football League the future for the club is bleak to say the least.

As I parked in the shadow of the new Ebbsfleet Eurostar stadium I was amazed by the fact that the outside of the ground still looked exactly the same as when I used to cycle past on my way up the hill to Swanscombe. Oh, there was a small sign on the side of the roof proclaiming their Wembley victory in May 2008. Paying my £13 took me into the ground and it was as if I was back at the Milton & Denton versus Riverview United in the Under 10’s Cup Final. The small house that had been converted into the toilets were still there, as too was the catering hut, now selling Chilli and Chips and Jacket potatoes as well as the standard football fayre. Nothing had changed. The club shop was stocked to the brim of smart Nike made Ebbsfleet merchandise complete with Eurostar and AustrianAirlines logos but it was still the same old ground. This is your traditional non-league stadium, although it was disappointing to see the Plough End had been converted into seats.

Ebbsfleet United 1 Rushden & Diamonds 0 – Stonebridge Park – Saturday 17th January 2009

How did he miss this one?

Both teams came into the game firmly rooted in mid table in the Conference. The home side needed the win more than the visitors, as they were sailing a little close to the bottom four of the league for the liking of the owners who were due to vote on whether they renewed their £35 per annum subscription in a few weeks time.

You got the impression when the two teams emerged onto the pitch that Rushden weren’t popular. Whether that was because of the past histrionix between the two teams or the simple fact that the way they reached the Football League last time went against all that non-League teams stand for. What was noticable though was that for a club that regularly had crowds of 5,000 plus a few years ago they had brought just 127 fans (I counted them twice to make sure – once in each half). Where had all the fans gone? Football in the south eastern midlands has hardly had a good time in the past few years and it was now a hot bed of Conference rivalries with Kettering, Cambridge and Histon playing local derbies against Diamonds.

The game was hardly a classic as both teams seemed intent on playing the ball long. Ebbsfleet at least tried to pass their way around the pitch with Stacey Long and Luke Moore providing some width at times. The one and only real chance of the half was at least converted as Long managed to beat the Rushden full back and his low cross was turned in by Neil Barratt in the 41st minute.

After the break Ebbsfleet pushed forward to try and get a second and somehow Michael Gash managed to hit the ball straight at the goalkeeper from three yards out in a chance that would have been easier to convert than miss. After Rushen failed to take a few half chances the game exploded in the 83rd minute when Rushden fullback Simon Downer delivered a very late and high challenge on Ebbsfleet’s Simon Moore just in front of the benches. Chaos ensued as the coaches, substitutes and one of the mascots piled onto the pitch to join in. Stweards ran (well waddled) from both ends to try and restore order and it was clear that the referee had completely lost control. He retreated to the centre circle with both linesmen and the fourth official before marching back over to the touchline and sent both coaches plus a couple of substitutes to the stand. Great idea, but as I have already mentioned the Main Stand has all of 7 rows meaning these sinners ended up sitting some 10 yards from where they were previous. Downer was of course red carded in the mayhem and can have no complaints.

Despite seven minutes of injury time played neither team could create a chance and with the wind gathering strength for a night of gales in south eastern England I headed off back to the car. The win was much needed for their league form, but who could rule out a return to Wembley in May again?

About Stonebridge Road
On one side of the ground is an old looking wooden Main Stand. This single tiered covered stand, is all seated and runs for around half the length of the pitch. This stand has a fair number of supporting pillars running along the front of it, although the seating is raised above pitch level. There is also a tiny terrace in front of this stand. Entrance to the seated Main Stand is gained within the ground, on payment of a transfer fee (£2 per adult, £1 per concession). Opposite is a fair sized terrace, which has a simple rusty looking roof which covers the middle portion of it. One end is known as the Plough End, gaining its name from the pub that is situated just behind it. This is a former covered terrace (to the rear), that was made all seated in 2006. The stand looks quite picturesque with a wooded hill just beyond it. The other end, known as the Swanscombe End, is an open terrace, that is dominated by a huge electricity pylon which sits directly behind it. The Club Shop is located inside the ground.

The Club was formed in 1946, following the merger of Northfleet United and Gravesend United. It was renamed Ebbsfleet United in 2007.

*Thanks to Duncan Adams for the above information.

How to get to Stonebridge Road
The nearest station to the ground is Northfleet, which is only a few minutes walk away from the ground. The station is served by trains from London Bridge & Charing Cross. Just come straight out of the station and turn left at the top of the road. The ground can be then seen down on the right.

If you are drving then the A2 is the nearest main road. Take the exit for Ebbsfleet Station which is about a mile after the exit for Bluewater, and 2 miles east from the M25 junction. Follow the signs for the football ground and park in Car Park C at the new Ebbsfleet station which is a 2 minute walk away and costs £3.

How to get a ticket for Stonebridge Road
All ticket games are about as common as a warm afternoon here and it is nearly pay on the gate. Admission is £13 for Adults and £7 for children. For this you can stand anywhere in the ground or in the seats behind the Plough End goal. If you want to sit on the main stand you will need to pay an extra £2 to transfer.
