Tralasciando il fatto che la tv italiana è davvero di un trash assurdo… o meglio – tralasciando il fatto che la tv commerciale e quella dedicata a un pubblico decisamente giovanile è di un trash assurdo.

Oggi ho voluto sfidare me stesso e la mia capacità di sopportazione. Prima di andare al lavoro, preso da un attacco masochista di stampo alfieriano, mi sono legato alla sedia della cucina e mi sono guardato “Secondo voi”: quel bellissimo programma condotto dall’illustre pezzo di cacca ambulante Paolo del Debbio, esatto.
Insomma, l’argomento dell’intervista di oggi era L’Omofobia. Ero pronto a qualsiasi tipo di affermazione, davvero. Anche perchè ieri, facendo zapping, mi sono imbattuto in uno dei soliti incontri/scontri nel “Barbara D’urso Show” (che eleganza). Insomma, dopo Cecchi Paone a difesa (in piedi e a braccia aperte, stile crocifisso di un Lachapelle senza fama e senza gloria) di un parterre invidiabile di omosessuali uomini e donne, ho visto tutto.
Ma torniamo a noi. A parte il fatto che, caro Paolo: A) non sei credibile quando punti il dito contro l’omofobia B) non mi bastano venti minuti in cui difendi il gay o la lesbica per farti diventare simpatico e gradevole; ma vabbe’. Le risposte erano “abbastanza” soddisfacenti. Ma tutti con un tono tra il superiore e l’indifferenza. Salvo qualche brillante (e sono serio) uscita, del tutto rispettabile e condivisibile. Ma poi è arrivato lui: il macellaio [rispetto alla categoria] rozzo e buzzurro che pronuncia queste parole: “Eh, se sono così, che si facciano ricoverare“. Just Great.

Ora, la mia riflessione è questa. A parte, ovviamente, sui motivi che mi spingano a guardare ancora questi programmi.
- Devo necessariamente aspettare 20 anni per vivere tranquillo la mia esistenza? Devo davvero attendere che la morte favorisca il ricambio di cervelli e menti e classe politica per avere delle novità, della MODERNITA’ attorno a me?

Giuro, io spero con tutto il mio cuore che questi famigerati “Uomini delle Stelle” che dovrebbero salvarci dal 2012 siano tutti dichiaratamente omosessuali. Così forse potremo dare un senso maggiore alle teorie Darwiniane.

Una din cărțile alea care intră greu, trebuie citite cu lingurița, într-un mediu cât mai aproape de condițiile ideale. Că na, Nietzsche le zice în stilul lui, și trebuie să fii cu creierul pe recepție când citești.

Ecce Homo este un volum de sinteză a întregii evoluții din gândirea lui Fr. Nietzsche, scris pe la sfârșitul vieții – și, în plus față de asta, aduce aspecte autobiografice. Omul mai face referiri la părinți, la mediul copilăriei sale – toate venind în contextul unor capitole care se cheamă “De ce sunt atât de deștept?” sau “De ce sunt atât de înțelept?”. Pentru că da, subtitlul cărții și scopul ei declarat este “Cum devii ceea ce ești?”. Acuma… detalii despre carte se găsesc și aici, nu e nevoie să le rescriu și eu. Iar citate iarăși nu pot să dau: că ori sunt date biografice – care scoase din context nu au nicio noimă – ori sunt cugetări de-ale lui, care-s multe, că din asta e alcătuită cartea. Dar am reținut cumva o idee care mi-a cam zburlit părul:

“Pentru ca să-ți poți iubi prietenii, trebuie să fii în stare să-i și urăști”.

În fine. Două recomandări pe cartea asta: 1) cine are posibilitatea, ar face bine s-o citească în germană. Probabil că traducerile sunt bune, dar… la mama ei acasă e altceva; și 2) capitolul “De ce scriu cărți atât de bune?”

Es frecuentemente citada en libros y en el cine: Por ejemplo, la película “Conan el Bárbaro” (Conan the Barbarian, dirigida por John Milius y protagonizada por Arnold Schwarzenegger en 1982) se inicia con la frase en inglés: “That which does not kill us makes us stronger” (Eso que no nos mata nos hace más fuertes”).

Mike, over at Ecce Homo, thinks a vindication has taken place, saying,

“Today’s word is: vindication. Say it with me, children, ‘vindication.’”

I have my guesses at what he’s getting at, but it’s glad to see Mike joining the conversation, even though we don’t know what he really means and continues to be silent on the current topic. (This is my ploy to drag you into this, Mike… is it working?)

Zespół istnieje od 1992 roku. Po 17-stu latach wspólnego grania (w tym samym składzie) różnych zorganizowanych dźwięków, sześciu rozpadach i trzynastu powrotach oraz “spłodzeniu” stu kawałków podjęła próbę przypomnienia lubelskiej widowni dlaczego rock’n'roll to zabawa, a przekaz i klimat są najważniejsze.
Muzycznie ECCE HOMO porusza się gdzieś pomiędzy  klasycznym rockiem, punkiem, heavy i transowymi klimatami (czyli nadal nikt nic nie wie… ). Na fali powrotów dinozaurów i innych jaszczurów kapela też chciałaby zarobić na emeryturę.
Jeżeli lubicie brudne gitary,  improwizowane solówki i  inteligentne teksty poczujcie się swobodnie w sobotę w Tekturze!

Mike Whitenton wrote a short post on studying the bible and included a quote that I wanted to repost.  I think this quote by James McGrath captures well a common problem with reading and interpreting Scripture.  The quote is from The Only True God, page 100:

[The fact that early Christians were completely unlike us in terms of world view and cultural context] is an unsettling result, to be sure, for those accustomed to read these writings as sacred Scripture, and in particular for Protestants who traditionally emphasize that anyone at all can read and interpret that Bible. The truth of the matter, for those readers without knowledge of ancient languages, ancient cultures, and other such subjects, the meaning of the Bible is at times not all clear, while at other times it can seem to clearly mean things that it is unlikely to have meant in its original context. The possibility of misunderstanding a reader today in a Western cultural setting is at least as great as the chances that the same individual will experience a cultural or linguistic misunderstanding if traveling to a foreign culture. By emphasizing these points, I do not wish to discourage interested individuals from reading the Bible in English translation – far from it. it is important, however, for all readers to understand that they are having the Bible interpreted for them by those who have translated it into their native language and are then engaging in interpretation themselves through the act of reading. The books they are reading derive from a very different world, and therefore one should not cease reading but should utilize the multitude of books and other resources that scholars have made available, expressly with the aim of helping readers make sense of these ancient texts. Having done that, one should then go on to express one’s conclusions about what these writings mean with an appropriate humility and tentativeness, aware that what seems obvious to a reader today may not have been what seemed obvious to a first-century reader.

By reading a text with regard to when and where and how it was written, radical shifts in interpretation can occur.  An example is from the book, The Lost World of Genesis One, page 113, by John Walton:

…This book has proposed, instead, that Genesis 1 was never intended to offer an account of material origins and that the original author and audience did not view it that way. In fact, the material cosmos was of little significance to them when it came to questions of origins. In this view, science cannot offer an unbiblical view of material origins, because there is no biblical view of material origins aside from the very general idea that whatever happened, whenever it happened, and however it happened, God did it.”

I find observations like this fascinating.  There’s an entire world behind the text that our contemporary theology and sunday school classes have disregarded.  That world I believe, is what actually brings the text to life and makes the characters and texts real.
