Been listening to Stephen Jones’ (him from Babybird) Almost Cured Of Sadness for the first time today, co-incidentally Babybird had their big hit with You’re Gorgeous in 1996.

I can’t help thinking that if this record came out today, fronted by a bunch of pretty teenage Hoxton chancers, the N.M.E. would be falling over themselves to call them the future of music. Or something. Our very own Andrew Mueller gives a rather sniffy review of it on Amazon but since when did any of us trust music journalists?

Judge for yourselves. Here’s one of the tracks I’ve picked at random.

In molti hanno già definito l’evento “djset dell’anno”. Senza dubbio lo è: per la prima volta a Napoli (più a sud di Roma non si erano mai spinti) il duo elettronico inglese formatao da Tom Rowlands ed Ed Simons. Sceglieranno i dischi per noi, tra i loro brani e non solo, deconstruendoli e mixandoli in un delirio di big beat, elettronica acida, techno ed attitudine rock.

Si perchè i fratellini chimici sono rock, almeno non nel senso classico del termine, ma nella loro attitudine. Rivoluzionari, rappresentanti della “nuova psichedelia” che fa muovere milioni di persone, hanno collaborato in passato con artisti non solo della sfera dance, come Noel Gallagher degli Oasis.

Questa sera al Golden gate di via Campana (ex Ennency) arriveranno verso le 2 per partire in un vorticoso giro di anime e sensi della durata di 3 ore. Apre la serata alla console JG Bros, per un evento prodotto da Hello Box.

Hello Box è il nuovo “one night project” nato da una costola di Orbeat e Angels Of Love, stranoti promotori di eventi dance a Napoli ed in tutta Italia.

English singer Lily Allen took a walk with her doggy earlier today in Ladbrooke Grove, London. She has taken away that funky pink hair she was sporting recently and went for a more natural looking chestnut color.

Lily has recently reunited with Chemical Brothers and ex hunni Ed Simons. She originally changed her hair to pink due to their break-up.

They suffer from severe narcissism. They tend to be more boring then interesting. They are desperate for attention at all costs and they like to live their lives under the microcosm of the media lens.

Yes kids, were talking about ‘C E L E B R I T I E S’.

But alas, like us, they also fall in love too. Swoon.

And they fall out of love too. Say it ain’t so offi-cah!

So our Lily the ‘attention seeking mediocre’ Allen singing talent is back with Ed then? Jeez Ed, you’re some looser. Was it the pictures when she was showing off her vagina-you wanted it back? Or the pictures were she embarrassingly had tipped the paps to take nude pictures of her on a random boat in Cannes-even going as far as to stick her smudgy little tongue out with a grin on her face?

You’re about 20 years in age gap-were you bowled over by her maturity? Yes, that’s it. The way she handled herself this past year got your male juices boiling.

And then we have Drew ‘mediocre in acting but ALWAYS in love’ Barrymore, who has broken up with Justin Long.

Hmmm. Were they ever going out? It seemed to convenient that they were ALWAYS snapped together especially as we haven’t seen any pictures of her for months and months! My point is-paps may be good but they ain’t god kids. You go were you know they will be their to have your pic taken-be it some hipster NY club that you know all your hipster crowd will be their or some strip in Hollywood.

Fact.

Now if they were going out-then this is no surprise. Drew is certifiable. I’ve never witnessed a celeb with such a kick to be seen ’soooo in love’ with her latest paramour. And furthermore, Drew has that unfortunate Hipster attitude. You see Hipsters loathe to make out like they love attention or mainstream affection, it’s just not cool. You have to look like you don’t give a shit-in a dress and in attitude.

So poor Drew feels that she gets that-the whole presence thing…that’s HER! But were Drew fucks up is that she always wants to date the wrong kind of Hipster dude-the one at the end of the spectrum of genuinely NOT GIVING A SHIT about what you think and who he should be. These type are always honestly talented and have only been accepted through the Hipster gang not by their own doing but due to the sheer fact that they actually ‘don’t give a shit’. That thing that Hipster wishes he/she could actually have and be but aren’t.

So there you have it. Another one bites the dust with Drew. He thought he was going out with a refreshingly un-Hollywood, Hollywood starlet-which is false and she thought she was going out with a refreshingly Hipster, Hipster boy about New York.

Shucks eh?

All-Areas-Magazine (Pressemitteilung) 23.06.2008 – Platzregen, der Scheibenwischer schafft kaum die Wassermassen. Auf dem Weg zur mobilen Arena schüttet es wie aus Eimern. Ein wenig nass geworden, harren hunderte Fans darauf, die Chemical Brothers live zu sehen. Mehr Andrang als bei HIM und Duran Duran. Bei den fast subtropischen Temperaturen machts dann auch nichts, ein paar heftige Tropfen abzubekommen. Manch einer hatte dann doch vorgesorgt und einen Regenschirm eingepackt.

Leider haben nicht alle vor der Halle ein Ticket bekommen. Teilweise gelassen, manche sogar verärgert (siehe Foto: Chemical Brothers – Köln – 230608 – 460.JPG [51]).

Am Wochenende feierten Tom Rowlands und Ed Simons noch mit tausenden Fans auf den Huricane und Southside Festivals. Am Sonntagabend gaben die beiden CHEMICALS nochmals richtig Gas. Mit fetten Beats im Koffer, aufgemischt mit Laser- und Lightshow dröhnten sie die tanzhungrigen Party People zu.

Lily Allen’s new TV program, Lily Allen and Friends, had its premiere on Tuesday night on BBC Three in the UK. (BBC Three is the corporation’s ‘youth’ channel, aimed at viewers aged 16 to 34.)

The UK newspaper The Mail on Sunday reported on Sunday that the program was not good, the jokes were bad, Allen did not sing on the show, as was expected, and audience members walked out in droves. In a blog on her MySpace page, Allen claimed that the taping of the first show ran long and, as a result, some audience members had to leave to catch trains, buses, and the Tube home.

Allen recently suffered a miscarriage and shortly thereafter broke up with her boyfriend, Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers.

Die britische Popsängerin Lily Allen (22) hat eine Fehlgeburt erlitten. Es wäre das erste Kind für sie und ihren Freund dem Musiker Ed Simons (37) gewesen. Lili Allen hate ihr Leben für das Baby komplett geändert und sie träumte von ihrer kleinen Familie.

Th Sun is reporting that Lily Allen had  a miscarriage.

“Lily and Ed are in a state of shock. The bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are absolutely heartbroken. Lily’s entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed. She had turned her back on her party girl image and had turned over a new leaf. They are surrounded by friends and family are offering support. It is a really difficult time for them.”

Her rep confirmed the miscarriage saying, “We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Sadness. All the best to them.

Esattamente un mese fa l’abbiamo ammirata sulle pagine di GQ per un servizio fotografico di tutto rispetto, poi la notizia inattesa della sua gravidanza, ed oggi la ritroviamo in copertina per il numero di Febbraio di Marie Claire, in splendida forma e vestita “da brava ragazza”.

Abiti bon ton, accessori discreti, pettinature retrò, questa l’immagine consegnata da Lily Allen al magazine circa due mesi fa, poco prima di annunciare la sua gravidanza. La principessa del pop inglese era celebre per il suo caratterino, per le sue apparizioni sul palco fumando sigarette e bevendo birra, per i suoi abiti eccentrici e la sua sana corporatura. In poco tempo, diagnosticatole un soffio al cuore, è dimagrita di tanto, ha cambiato abitudini, ha smesso di fumare ed ora ammette di essere finalmente in pace con se stessa e con tutti.

E’ frutto dell’amore con il cantante dei Chemical Brothers, Ed Simons, il bimbo che Lily porta in grembo, lei che prima della gravidanza dichiarava di essere troppo giovane per avere un figlio e criticava le altre giovani mamme, adesso ammette di essere emozionata e terrorizzata al tempo stesso e fa progetti sul futuro del suo bambino.

Jamie Lynn ha rivelato d’essere incita ad OK Magazine dove, in un’intervista di sei pagine, ha raccontato di come ha conosciuto il padre Casey Aldridge (19 anni) ed ha dichiarato di voler tenere il bambino. C’è chi urla allo scandalo, io più semplicemente mi chiedo quale sorte si sia abbattuta in casa Spears e penso che le cose “accadono” anche nel patinato e luccicante mondo delle celebrities e piuttosto che inorridire dovremmeo pensare che una ragazzina di 16 anni adesso deve fare i conti con qualcosa più grande di lei.

Meno prematura e scioccante, la gravidanza di Lilly Allen, adesso ventiduenne, frutto del rapporto con Ed Simons dei Chemical Brothers. Secondo la portavoce della cantante entrambi i futuri genitori si dicono spaventati, ebbene anche i vip sono comuni mortali.

In case you’re not big into tabloids (but of course you are, since like, what else is there to read these days?), Little Spears isn’t the only one on the fast and furious “accidentally pregnant” train. 22-year-old singer Lilly Allen announced she’s carrying Chemical Brothers musician Ed Simons’s baby almost at the exact second Jamie Lynn jumped onto the cover of Ok! Magazine, while beating out both starlets in the baby drama department was presidential hopeful John Edwards.

That’s right. John Edwards. The guy with the hair. Who’s running for president.

Apparently, some chick told the National Enquirer a few months back that Edwards cheated on his sick wife with her, leaving her sperminated and disgraced.

The news today is that an “ex-key official” in Edwards’s campaign (who has a family of his own) is actually the baby daddy, allowing Edwards to have some of his integrity back, but not all, since he totally had a lying bastard working for him.

Now, I’m aware that sex is a pretty popular activity, but when the hell did it start to become popular to have unplanned pregnancies?! Obviously, this sort of thing happens, but when you’re rich and famous, one would think you’d have enough change in your pockets to buy a few boxes of condoms or get yourself a nice supply of birth control pills.

Kids aren’t like designer purses. Just because they’re fashionable right now doesn’t mean that you can trade them in for something better later. Young Hollywood (and ex-presidential officials) better start smartening up fast, or there’s gonna be a whole lot of baby backlash.

Bloc Party ya actuaron en la última edición del Summercase, mientras que Alex Turner y los suyos dejaron un buen sabor de boca en el FIB tras conseguir con su primer álbum, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not,  el récord del elepé de debut más vendido en sus primeras semanas en el Reino Unido, superando al Definitely Maybe, disco de debut de los legendarios Oasis.
