<title><![CDATA[ESIA 3D : la cuvée Bachelor 2009 !]]></title>

<p>Et pour achever en beauté l&#8217;année scolaire passée, mercredi ont eu lieu les jurys clôturant le Bachelor Infographie 3D cuvée 2009.</p>

<p>&#8230; de quoi être un peu impressionné quand on est étudiant et qu&#8217;on va chercher du boulot dans la semaine qui arrive&#8230;  Une sorte d&#8217;entretien d&#8217;embauche blanc qui met bien dans le bain&#8230; Merci encore à tous ces professionnels, sévères mais justes comme il se doit (sauf Joëlle qui a été trop gentille <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  ) et dont le regard s&#8217;est montré bien affûté (mais on n&#8217;en doutait pas une seconde !).</p>
<p>Allez, je balance quelques images des films, sachant que je ferai des posts sur ce blog sur chacun d&#8217;entre eux. Une sorte d&#8217;amuse-bouche (je ne crois pas qu&#8217;on puisse dire &#8220;amuse-oeil&#8221;&#8230;).</p>
<p>C&#8217;est pas tout ça&#8230; les <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">bizuts</span> nouveaux étudiants sont arrivés cette semaine et planchent déjà sur Photoshop, les deuxièmes années sont en stage d&#8217;animation 2D intensif et les troisième année sont à fond sur Maya avant d&#8217;attaquer la préprod de leurs films&#8230;</p>

<title><![CDATA[iHate - Test Drive: Unlimited]]></title>

<p>Macie tak, że czasem wyrzucacie pewne gry z czytników swych konsol już po 5 minutach obcowania z nimi? Ja tak mam, dokładnie wczoraj padło na <strong>Test Drive: Unlimited</strong>.<br />

Nawet nie wiecie jakie zdziwienie przeżyłem gdy na starcie gry musiałem&#8230; wybrać sobie któregoś z okropnie wyglądających kierowców, który to ma być moim wirtualnym odbiciem. Ponieważ nikogo na tyle konkretnego autorzy gry nie stworzyli, zadowoliłem się „dziewczyną z sąsiedztwa”, która wzbudziła we mnie minimalną sympatię dzięki t-shirtowi Ecko unltd. (z Ecko znamy się od lat, zatem przykuło to moją uwagę). Potem miałem wybrać jakieś autko, a potem&#8230; nastąpiło najgorsze. Wyjechałem na Hawajskie ulice by kupić dom -_-</p>

<p>Co to ma być? Gram w racera czy bete Sims 4? Nie rozumiem po co mi wirtualny dom, wirtualny kierowca i wirtualna wyspa skoro ja się tu mam tylko ścigać. Tak podirytowany minąłem kilka przecznic, zauważyłem, że gra wygląda paskudnie (Race Driver: Grid, GTA IV ani Burnout: Paradise to, to nie jest), dojechałem do pierwszego punktu, obejrzałem mapę w menu (od czasu incydentu z <strong>Mass Effect</strong> postanowiłem w każdej grze sprawdzać czy jest mapa w menu), wróciłem do jeżdżenia i&#8230; koniec. Nie mogłem zdzierżyć tej oprawy, tego modelu jazdy i bezsensownych w mym odczuciu elementów.</p>
<p>Po 5 minutach płyta wystrzeliła z napędu i już tam nie wróci. Obecnie jest za dużo świetnych wyścigów bym miał się męczyć z tego typu potworkiem. Nie polecam, Grid wciąż rządzi.</p>

<p>A man comes to in an apartment building in New York City but has not idea who he is and why the building appears to be eating people and crumbling to pieces around him.</p>

<p>How come no-one at any point during development pointed out that the game (on 360) was virtually uncontrollable and wilfully ignores what the user does? It&#8217;s a gigantic shame as the game, with normal human controls, would be nearly very good. As it is, this is something of a glorious failure that fits in perfectly with Atari&#8217;s company policy of releasing broken games. Just to make sure there is absolutely no good will toward the legion of should-be-great moments, brilliant puzzling and super ideas, Eden Games inserted a soul-sucking sequence of horribly elongated gameplay (burning roots) which goes against the pace of the rest of the game. The finalé is largely cool, though, involving terrific simple-but-satisfying light puzzles, a satisfying baddie despatch but then, again, undermines itself with a where-do-I-go driving sequence and a world-ending decision to make without any information to base that decision upon. As it turns out, SPOILER <font color="#ffffff">out your decision is meaningless.</font> Great.</p>
<p>This game contains frequent sexual swear words and strong melee violence, strong blade violence, strong gun violence, graphic fire violence, strong horror violence, gory and unpleasant scenes, single instance of extreme and extremely graphic gun violence in cut-scene and sensuality.</p>

Lembrando que as melhorias também serão feitas na versão do Xbox 360, como já foi confirmado pela Eden Games.</p>

<li class="article_body">Total liberdade na câmera: melhor controle da câmera que permite melhor uso em primeira pessoa para uma jogabilidade ainda mais imersiva;</li>
<li class="article_body">Melhoria no tempo de resposta:  reações mais rápidas e suaves do seu personagem em terceira pessoa para movimentos mais rápidos em situações difíceis;</li>
<li class="article_body">Sistema de inventório mais acessível: inventório na jaqueta melhorado, com a habilidade de combinar objetos usando apenas o D-pad e mais fluidez nos movimentos, que melhora a seleção de itens;</li>
<li class="article_body">Mais dicas: os jogadores terão toda a ajuda necessária para passar de cada situação e aproveitar o máximo do jogo;</li>
<li class="article_body">Visão espectral: um tutorial explica como usar esta visão e uma melhoria na dificuldade faz com que essa habilidade seja menos necessária para completar o jogo;</li>
<li class="article_body">Melhoria na dinâmica e uso dos carros: o uso dos carros foi melhorado para fazer com que dirigir no parque seja melhor, incluindo mais suspensão e menos <em>drift</em>;</li>
<li class="article_body">Melhorias no nível da 59th Street: uma das seqüências mais empolgantes do jogo acaba de se tornar melhor. A 59th Street foi otimizada para uma corrida mais satisfatória contra os inimigos. Um checkpoint foi incluindo no Columbus Circle e direções claras dadas por Sarah serão feitas;</li>
<li class="article_body">Nova seqüência de ação: uma seqüência exclusiva foi adicionada no Episódio 6 para maior variedade de jogabilidade no episódio;</li>

<p>Não sabemos se o último item será mesmo exclusivo no PlayStation 3 ou também irá para o Xbox 360 futuramente. Veremos se as mudanças melhoram a experiência do jogo.</p>

Y prometen que para el lanzamiento del juego en su versión del PS3 tanto la camara, texturas y otros detallitos seran corregidos, dando una versión mejorada de la actual. Si me lo preguntas . . . y que con la versión del Wii . . . sigue soñando porque asi se queda.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">&#8220;Alone in the Dark&#8221; inicio el genero de Survival Horror hace ya muchos años, hoy en dia juegos como Silent Hill, Fatal Frame y en menor medida Resident Evil son los herederos de esa epoca. Los fans de corazon esperabamos que este titulo fuera el mejor del genero, ya que se mostraron muchos avances que demostraban que el gameplay era digno y mas aun la historia. Pero se volvieron a equivocar.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Alone in the Dark fue lanzado para el PS2, Wii y XB360 . . . la versión para el PS3 espera aun su lanzamiento a finales de 2008. El juego fue recibido de buen agrado, pero poco a poco los detalles empezaron a salir. Hablando solo del aspecto grafico y banda sonora, puedo decir que es hermosa la presentación del juego, ya que estan muy bien definidos sus detalles . . . y la musica que acompaña tu aventura es de lo mejor. En cuento a la trama puedo decir sin dar ningun SPOILER, que veraz nuevamente como Nueva York es destruida por una amenaza desconocida donde solo un hombre puede salvarla. El diseño de personajes y texturas es sorprendente . . . cada enemigo se ve muy bien y no hay nada mas que decir. La interacción con los distintos objetos de cada nivel de abre muchas posibilidades y es admirable lo bien que estan ideadas algunas de las situaciones.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Hasta ahorita no hay nada malo, pero como dicen por ahi . . . algo falló. Considero yo que un juego no es bueno por sus graficas o su musica, ya que lo que realmente te hace querer u odiar al titulo es la manera en la que se juega, asi llegamos al . . . <strong>GAMEPLAY</strong> . . . que me da mucha pena decirlo, pero por esto el titulo es una porqueria; cuando te encuentras en tercera persona el uso de armas es lento y no preciso . . . te gastaras tu arsenal antes de que le atines a tus enemigos . . . cuando estas en primera persona tu punteria es mejor pero tus enemigos te mataran porque eres tan lento que eres presa facil. Si bien es cierto que la interacción con los escenarios es buena, hay situaciones que de veras te desesperan y comienzas a jugar en modo &#8220;INTENTO-ERROR&#8221;. Moriras muchas veces, maldeciras otras tantas esto llevo a la ruina al juego.</p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">&#8220;`</span>If I had drunk enough beer I might have started belting out old ‘80s songs, like the one by Heart that goes “And the night goes by so very slow, but I hope it won’t end though, alone…” only I’d change the lyrics to “And the game goes by so very slow, but I hope it will end soon though… moan.”  On the other hand, if I had been drunk maybe I’d have enjoyed myself more with this game.</p>
<p>To say that I was really looking forward to Alone In The Dark, by Eden and Atari, would be a massive understatement.  I, on hope and based on many of the pre-release videos (which to use a Heart line again, “chilled me to the bone”), even predicted earlier in the year on this very site a possible Game Of  The Year title.</p>
<p><a href="http://xboxoz360.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aitd-1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2785" src="http://xboxoz360.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/aitd-1.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="228" /></a><span style="color:#ffffff;">&#8220;`</span>Instead what I’ve found is an overambitious underachieving game that moves so very slow and has so many problems that it falls into the “should have been a contender” category.</p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">&#8220;`</span>So what the heck happened to make such a promising game with genuine glimpses of brilliance turn into a tedious frustrating mix?</p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">&#8220;`</span>The Xbox 360 needed another adventure game and Alone In The Dark looked to combine the adventure and survival horror styles perfectly.  It has many fantastic ideas, like the way you can combine so many items you find and have stored in your cool jacket inventory. You can then use them to light things on fire or throw and shoot them to create huge explosions against monsters or destructible doors.</p>

<p>The ability to improvise and choose your way to deal with monsters and situations is the glimpse of brilliance.  There are many examples: if you have a knife you can puncture a car and then refill your empty bottles with more flammable petrol….or if you are being attacked you can shoot the petrol tank and make the car explode.</p>
<p>Grabbing a chair, setting it on fire, then breaking down a door that in any other game would be unrealistically indestructible, is a great gameplay mechanic.  If everything else had worked that well, this game would have been something special.</p>

<p>It begins shrouded in mystery as you click the right analogue stick to blink yourself awake and overhear the first snippets of an intriguing conspiracy involving a ‘stone’, a ‘ritual’, and a ‘path of light’.  You also discover that Carnby, who you play, has had a strange and violent past he has forgotten.</p>
<p>Amnesia is always convenient, but it helps with the mystery.  All sounds good so far.  Then some weird fissures in the walls start chasing you around and grabbing people and hope begins to dim.</p>
<p><a href="http://xboxoz360.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aitd-31.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2790" src="http://xboxoz360.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/aitd-31.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="263" /></a>There is a long list of detracting problems, beginning with the unforgivable sin of terrible clunky controls reminiscent of the original Resident Evil games previous generations ago.  I thought we were done with the Michael Jackson moonwalking in games, but apparently not.</p>
<p>When you’ve played as Altair or even Lara Croft and experienced fluid motion and intuitive controls and then you play the robot Carnby and have to press a dozen buttons to do something as simple as get out a gun, load, and shoot it, you don’t feel that immersed.  Even the NPCs walk on the spot like they are stuck on a treadmill sometimes.  You can move in both first person or third person view, but first person view isn’t much better.</p>
<p>The camera angles, especially in the early sections of the game (which are probably some of the worst levels), can make movement even more cumbersome and inaccurate.  The fact you use the ‘look’ analogue stick to also swing objects you are holding just makes the whole control scheme a mess.</p>

<p>Even though you can run by holding A, the game has a very slow feel to it.  The frustrating numbers of times you need to repeat using trial and error in unforgiving sections or solve some illogical puzzle also makes the game protracted and artificially long.</p>
<p><a href="http://xboxoz360.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aitd-5.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2793" src="http://xboxoz360.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/aitd-5.jpg?w=212" alt="" width="212" height="300" /></a>I would have said the only exception was  the initially exilirating car chase where you speed to the amazingly haunting (and brilliant) soundtrack music by the award winning Mystere Des Voix Bulgares, chased by earthquake fissures as cars blow up and fly through the air around you.  But after you repeat the section a hundred times because there is no room for error, the car handles like it was driving on ice sliding all over the place, and solid objects everywhere stop you cold and get you killed, it stops being fun and you start praying for a miracle to fluke your way through.</p>
<p>In theory the much touted ‘episodic’ approach of the game, where you can skip ahead whenever you want to and get a fun ‘previously on Alone In The Dark’ trailer, allows you to continue the game and solves these sorts of ‘getting stuck’ frustrations.  However, if you want the level complete achievements or just to finish the level for pride’s sake this doesn’t forgive the poor mechanics of the game that tend to lead to frustration the most.  It is good, though, for those who cannot solve some of the more difficult puzzles later on.</p>

<p>The game, strangely enough, is extremely linear, despite the ability to jump to any episode of the game and despite the few times you have access to the whole of Central Park.  For these ‘freedom’ sections you can run around or find and jump-start a car using one of the cool mini-games that involve wires (also used for doors and starting power generators elsewhere).</p>
<p>Then you can drive around (or rather slide around) the park smashing into zombies and the many indestructible objects but there really isn’t any relevant plot point for doing so unless you count the rather boring parts where you have to find and burn ‘roots’.   When driving, unless you keep to boring roads, you are more likely to slide into trees, benches, lamps, or any of the many other objects that get in the way too often.  It feels very different to the park in Dead Rising, which seems more open, despite the fact that Alone’s park is so much bigger.</p>

<p>The sound is well done with that fantastic soundtrack and various background atmospheric sounds, but the voice acting is average at best with a script full of unnecessary expletives that does nothing to add to the tone of the game.</p>
<p><a href="http://xboxoz360.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aitd-4.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2798" src="http://xboxoz360.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/aitd-4.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="235" /></a>The graphics seem to suffer from a perpetual gray haze and the fog in the park doesn’t help.  They just don’t seem as crisp as they did in the videos and lighting is hit and miss…sometimes really well done, other times just odd.  There are strange visuals like when the background is blurry in third person view but when you switch to first the background suddenly becomes clearer.</p>
<p>The game suffers from the usual screen tearing and lots of clipping too.  These problems can cause death; I was being burnt to death by a fire that went invisible and another time my car was stuck in the environment until I restarted the game.  With such a great environmental concept for a game in Central Park, there was great promise of diversity, but most game environments seem sadly underwhelming.</p>
<p>The puzzles are great and horrible in equal measure.  For every great forklift driving puzzle section there is a terrible ‘shine the light at the black unexplained goo on the floor’ section.  In the end you need the patience of a saint or a shameless attitude to fast forwarding.</p>

<p>The use of fire as a game dynamic is fantastic; it really is fun to knock a monster around with an axe then drag his sorry ass into a fire, or to use a lighter and spray can as a flamethrower.  Also the ability to replay any section of the game when you are finished is a feature all games should have.</p>
<p>In the end, despite some of the fantastic concepts, the game gets bogged down in the mediocre mechanics and issues, and unfortunately the poor pacing so that ‘the night goes by so very slow’ makes this game tough to recommend.</p>

<p>Carnby himself actually says it best when Sarah, the obligatory sexy side-kick, says: “Just one more problem.”, and he exasperatedly replies: “And I’m supposed to find this surprising?”   No, unfortunately.</p>
<p>In this game the problems overshadow the brilliance, and the player ends up feeling that frustration too often darkens the fun.</p>

Sinceramente, aunque he sido bastante imparcial a la hora de juzgarlo y he puesto una nota digna con respecto a las tristes carencias que presenta, he de decir que personalmente el juego me ha gustado bastante. Nunca he tenido demasiado apego por los survival horror, pero oye, éste al menos es bastante original y te lo pasas teta combinando el inventario para hacer cócteles molotov y demás burradas.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><!--more-->Todos nos preguntamos cómo es posible que la gente de Eden Games haya conseguido plasmar en su juego muchísimos detalles, tanto gráficos como jugables de impresionante factura técnica mientras que conceptos mucho más básicos y primordiales relacionados con la jugabilidad han sido dejados de lado. Aún así, nos encontramos ante un gran juego de factura cinematográfica que aunque no revolucionará el género, abrirá el camino hacia una nueva senda en la evolución de los survival horror.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Todo apuntaba a que este Alone in the dark (al final se ha quedado con ese nombre a secas) encumbraría el genero a un nuevo nivel, buscando nuevas fórmulas jugables que dejarían de lado los trillados cánones establecidos en este tipo de juegos. Al final ha quedado todo como una verdad a medias, con momentos brillantes y momentos algo pobres a partes iguales, tan dispares como la opinión de los usuarios, pues este juego, dadas sus peculiaridades o lo odias, o lo amas.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Como una película:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Prácticamente el mayor interés a la hora de ir avanzando en la aventura es sumergirnos más en el desarrollo de la historia que se nos relata de forma magistral desde el primer minuto de juego. Salta a la vista que las intenciones del estudio han sido las de dotar al título de una apariencia cinematográfica, cosa que se hace notar en cada plano de cámara o video in-game. Además, y como colofón a la aplicación de este estilo, el propio juego está dividido en 8 capítulos de una duración aproximada de una hora de juego, como si de una serie de televisión se tratase. Es más, cuando cargamos una partida guardada, nos aparecerá un pequeño vídeo resumen que comienza con un “Anteriormente, en Alone in the dark”, todo un acierto.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Lo que no llega a ser comprensible con respecto a la distribución por capítulos es que estos estén disponibles desde el inicio del juego, por lo que desde el principio podremos acceder a cualquier parte de la historia, perdiéndose gran parte del desafío que supondrán algunos retos al tener la posibilidad de saltárnoslos si no tenemos suficiente fuerza de voluntad.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">No sería nada beneficioso para el jugador que diera muchos detalles sobre el argumento, por lo que a grandes rasgos, mencionar que encarnamos a un tal Edward Carnby (cuya identidad es una de las mayores sorpresas del juego), que al inicio de la aventura despertará amnésico capturado por un grupo de misteriosos hombres que pretenden deshacerse de él. De pronto, algo extraño comienza a suceder en el edificio donde nos encontramos y sus aledaños, y un extraño “ente” capaz de atravesar las paredes comienza a destrozar el edificio, del que tendremos que escapar en un frenético inicio de juego. Esa escapada nos llevará al mítico Central Park, uno de los reclamos del título al estar recreado con gran exactitud y ser el lugar que esconde un terrible secreto (como bien dice la frase que remarca la campaña publicitaria del juego).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Una gran factura técnica:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Visualmente no cabe duda que nos encontramos ante un juego “next-gen”, aunque esté ya bastante sobada la coletilla. Todos los elementos en pantalla lucen estupendamente. El nivel de detalle de los personajes es abrumador, e incluso en planos cercanos podremos ver hasta las imperfecciones en la piel de nuestro protagonista. Todos los escenarios están perfectamente construidos, y su ambientación y dinamismo ayudan a sentirnos inmersos en la aventura. La calidad de las texturas es digna de reseñar, aunque se encuentre alguna que otra que desentona con el resto por su escasa definición.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">En cuanto a las animaciones, nos topamos con una de las lacras del juego. Las escenas cinemáticas (reproducidas en tiempo real con el propio motor del juego), así como muchas acciones concretas de los personajes están reproducidas utilizando captura de movimientos y son de lo más vistosas, no así los movimientos de nuestro protagonista, cuyas animaciones no quedan del todo bien al encadenarse unas con otras. Cuando intentamos que Edward efectúe un salto nos encontraremos con una animación bastante tosca, al igual que al caminar. Tal vez, este efecto sea fruto de un dificultoso sistema de control más que de las propias animaciones en sí, pero sea de la forma que sea, el resultado final no es como debería. Una verdadera pena porque salvo esos detalles estamos ante un apartado gráfico sublime.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Otra de las características estrella es la aplicación del fuego como elemento interactivo y necesario para el desarrollo de la aventura. Las llamas se extenderán sobre diferentes superficies y objetos de una forma bastante realista acorde con el material que esté ardiendo. Así, veremos como arden muebles, vigas y puertas con un realismo inusitado del que seremos partícipes en tiempo real, por lo que si acercamos un objeto susceptible de ser quemado, la combustión tendrá lugar de forma progresiva e incluso podremos utilizarla como arma a la hora de enfrentarnos a los enemigos, especialmente frágiles al elemento hasta el punto de ser obligatorio su uso para acabar con algunos de ellos.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>En la variedad está el gusto:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Alone in the dark pretende ser un survival horror, aunque se le han dado protagonismo a situaciones y elementos poco usuales por estos derroteros. Los puzzles están a la orden del día, siendo algunos de ellos bastante originales, aunque pequen de ser simples en muchos casos. Otros, en cambio requerirán de nuestra imaginación para ser llevados a cabo, ya que aunque constantemente se nos lleva de la mano por el camino a seguir, existirán momentos en los que no tendremos muy claro cómo avanzar. El uso del fuego y la interactividad con el entorno da bastante juego en determinadas situaciones. Todo esto nos hace suspirar de alivio al no ser los combates con enemigos el núcleo jugable, cosa que es de agradecer. Incluso en determinados momentos podremos conducir vehículos, siendo cierta escapada en coche una de las mejores escenas de todo el juego, por lo que más variedad imposible. Al ser el juego extremadamente corto las situaciones planteadas no suelen repetirse, y constantemente vamos sorprendiéndonos con las escenas en las que nos vemos inmersos a medida que superamos capítulos.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>El dichoso control:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Y por fin nos topamos ante el mayor problema del juego, el manejo del personaje. Da la sensación de que han querido abarcar muchas posibilidades de manejo y no han sabido gestionar su control de una forma práctica y eficaz, pero vayamos por partes.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Tenemos dos posibilidades de juego, en tercera o primera persona. Con la vista exterior manejaremos a Edward con el stick analógico, con el otro stick moveremos la cámara y con los diferentes botones podremos disparar, correr, saltar o abrir el inventario. Esta perspectiva es bastante cómoda a la hora de movernos, salvo determinados momentos en los que la cámara nos juega malas pasadas, ya que usualmente ésta se posiciona fija para mostrarnos planos cinematográficos en vez del seguimiento al personaje.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Al utilizar la vista en primera persona el control se convertirá en el de un FPS, permitiéndonos apuntar con nuestra pistola de forma precisa. También usaremos esta perspectiva para usar el extintor, elemento indispensable en muchos momentos en los que tenemos que batirnos en duelo contra el fuego.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Como ya se ha comentado, a lo largo de la aventura podremos interactuar con un sinfín de objetos que encontramos por el suelo, desde mesas y sillas hasta bombonas de butano o ramas secas. Cuando cogemos uno de estos elementos para atacar a un enemigo, el control volverá a ser diferente. En este caso, podremos fijar la vista en el contrincante con uno de los gatillos. Con uno de los sticks manejaremos a nuestro personaje y con el otro zarandearemos lo que tengamos en nuestras manos. Es decir, que si queremos asestar un sillazo al costado del monstruo de turno, tendremos que mover el stick de control de un lateral a otro para que se ejecute el movimiento. Lo que podría resultar una forma original y práctica de combatir a veces se convierte en todo un desafío, ya que por mucho que nos esforcemos el control no es demasiado preciso, y suele ser bastante normal que nos quedemos a merced del enemigo al asestar un golpe al aire.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">También tendremos la posibilidad de utilizar objetos de nuestro inventario y combinarlos para crear armas más letales. Si encontramos un bote con cualquier tipo de líquido inflamable podremos lanzarlo lejos y hacer que explote en el aire disparándole con la pistola. También podremos crear cócteles molotov usando botellas y trapos que encontremos, o usar un spray de vida tanto para curar nuestras heridas como para crear un improvisado lanzallamas. Pero la cosa no acaba aquí, también dispondremos de un mechero con el que incendiar las zonas que previamente hayamos rociado con gasolina o similares a nuestro antojo. Pudiendo incluso prender surcos en el suelo para levantar muros de fuego y evitar el paso a los enemigos. Las posibilidades por tanto, son enormes.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Las posibilidades son casi infinitas, y aunque existe una forma para crear atajos rápidos en donde seleccionar la combinación armamentística que necesitemos, al ser todo el sistema de menús en tiempo real no tenemos muchas oportunidades de cambiar de estrategia mientras peleamos, por lo que tendremos que ir con las ideas claras, y menos mal que existen muchos puntos de control, porque será bastante usual que tengamos que repetir algunas escenas unas cuantas veces.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Otro de los elementos indispensables de nuestro inventario será la linterna, que cobrará una importancia mayor que la que tuvo en la cuarta parte, donde tan solo nos servía para alumbrar el camino y ahuyentar a algunos monstruos. Ahora la necesitaremos mucho más, ya que en determinados momentos tendremos que usarla para deshacernos de cierto obstáculo que solo sortearemos con su ayuda. Además, tendremos que dosificar su uso, ya que funcionarán durante un tiempo limitado hasta que se gasten las pilas, momento en el que tendremos que cambiarlas, y si no llevamos en la chaqueta una buena provisión de estas, lo tenemos crudo.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Críticas dispares:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">El problema de todo este entramado de control es que cuesta acostumbrarse a su manejo. Este baile de menús, perspectivas y sistemas de movimiento puede resultar muy engorroso, y no llegaremos a ser conscientes de su potencial hasta avanzar unos capítulos en la aventura. Éste ha sido el sumidero de críticas del sector hacia el juego, condenándolo injustamente en la mayoría de los casos.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Quizá estamos acostumbrados a una percepción tan concreta y explícita de cada género en el mundo de los videojuegos que ante cualquier cambio en su planteamiento ponemos el grito en el cielo. Sobra remarcar que el principal referente en el género de los survival horror es la saga Resident Evil, y cualquier juego de corte similar es comparado inmediatamente con estos. En este caso, con Alone in the dark se ha pretendido alejar a conciencia de las fórmulas clásicas para ofrecernos algo parecido a lo que se nos mostró en esos ya lejanos primeros títulos de la saga durante la década pasada: Una aventura con puzzles y algunas escenas de acción que, aunque pueda pecar de lineal, nos lleva de la mano a lo largo de una interesantísima historia, siendo éste el verdadero atractivo de cara al jugador<span> </span>y no el mero hecho de masacrar enemigos. Es un estilo diferente de juego, que como ya he dicho, encandilará a unos y repugnará a otros.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Algunos se quejarán de la linealidad del argumento, otros de lo poco preciso que resulta el sistema de combate, y otros de nimiedades tales como la reaparición de algunos objetos dentro de armarios y muebles u objetos indispensables para la historia. Yo no veo todos estos pormenores como fallos, sino modificaciones para sentir la experiencia de una forma diferente. Hacía tiempo que no me sentía tan presionado y agobiado en un videojuego, y las carencias de nuestro protagonista no hacen sino acentuar esa sensación. Otro problema radica en la duración del juego, pues si somos curtidos jugadores no nos llevará más de 8 horas acabarnos de cabo a rabo la aventura, y dada su naturaleza lineal la rejugabilidad es casi nula.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Pero sin duda, la verdadera lacra del título son los constantes fallos y bugs con los que nos toparemos con demasiada frecuencia, ensombreciendo la experiencia jugable por culpa de momentos en los que tendremos que cargar la partida de nuevo por situaciones como chocarnos con muros invisibles infranqueables, personajes que se quedan atascados en recovecos del escenario y nos bloquean el paso, saltos al vacío no intencionados o paredes atravesables mágicamente. Muchos de estos errores son consecuencia de un poco o nada depurado sistema de colisiones, que produce comportamientos indeseables cuando interactuamos con algunos objetos, y que provoca entre otras cosas que las escenas de conducción se hagan la mar de tediosas al quedarnos clavados con un mísero roce contra un muro u otro tipo de obstáculo. Resulta difícil de creer que tras un desarrollo tan extenso y unos resultados espectaculares en otros ámbitos del juego, este problema tire al traste todo el trabajo.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Resulta realmente difícil puntuar este juego con una clasificación numérica. Normalmente suele ser complicado hacerlo con cualquier otro, ya que lo más normal el realizar comparativas con otros títulos y sentenciarlo si no llega a las cotas de calidad de estos. En este caso, sería absurdo comparar este Alone in the dark con un Resident Evil o Silent Hill, ya que los planteamientos jugables son radicalmente distintos. Tal vez estamos ante el renacimiento de un nuevo género que mezcla sabiamente (pero de verdad) puzzles y escenas de aventura con elementos de acción, y es casi seguro que veamos una continuación de este juego. Ahí podremos apreciar realmente si la nueva senda abierta resulta fructífera. De momento, el primer paso ya está dado, y sus prestaciones, aunque satisfactorias, se ven echadas a perder por culpa de un sistema de juego engorroso y multitud de bugs. Veremos en qué acaba todo esto.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Well, I have been playing the new Alone in the Dark game that came out a little more then a week ago. First off the plot line is very well developed and includes many tense moments and gets 5 stars from me. The thing that has got me in a rough is how the game play is executed. This game plays a lot like the original Alone in the Dark, which is a bad thing. It has been well over a decade and they are still using an inferior playing style, and at many points it can be downright frustrating. But Eden games realized this and put in a first person mode. (If I had my choice I&#8217;d play the entire game in first person) the bad news is the game will switch you out of first person mode without your consent which was enough for me to slam my keyboard a few times! (I don&#8217;t condone keyboard abuse or will be held responsible for what you may do to your computer if you play this game.) To add to the annoyances often you will get stuck in your inventory screen, which causes you to start over from your last save or restart the entire events sequence. (2nd Keyboard broken)</p>
<p>Complaining aside, the things that I can think about this game that are good, include a good storyline, an original soundtrack and the most cinematic experience I have seen yet in a game. You will likely be happy to know that if you get stuck on one part in the game, you are able to fast forward the game to the next series of events, which can be very helpful at times. (keyboard is safe for now). If you have been looking forward to playing this game go ahead and get it. If your not sure if you should get this one, go to your local Blockbuster movie store and rent the game on your PS3 or 360 (in truth this game is probably better played on a console.)</p>

<title><![CDATA["Alone in the Dark" : L'esprit d'équipe...]]></title>

<p>Juste un petit post (un rien amer quand même, j&#8217;avoue&#8230;) pour réparer un &#8220;oubli&#8221; malencontreux&#8230;</p>
<p>Je m&#8217;en fais un devoir vis-à-vis de personnes que j&#8217;estime beaucoup et qui n&#8217;ont pas eu la reconnaissance qu&#8217;ils méritaient.</p>
<p>Alors que dans un mois sort le jeu &#8220;<strong>Alone in the Dark V</strong>&#8220;, une édition collector va être mise en vente accompagnée d&#8217;un art book : un recueil fourni de dizaines etde dizaines d&#8217;images parmi les centaines que nous avons produites ces cinq dernières années, mon équipe et moi.</p>
<p>Il y a du bon (beaucoup) et du moins bon (peu <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  ), mais globalement c&#8217;est de bien bonne facture, et je réitère ici mes félicitations à toute l&#8217;équipe qui m&#8217;a accompagné pendant quatre ans et demi, ainsi qu&#8217;à ceux qui sont restés durant les neuf mois suivants sous la nouvelle direction artistique de Jean-Christophe Blanc, ex-Etranges Libellules, qui a tout mon respect.</p>
<p>Le hic, c&#8217;est que de nombreux éléments de cette équipe, dont votre serviteur (10 % de ma vie passés sur ce jeu), ne font pas partie de la galerie de portraits créditant le travail de ces nombreuses années.</p>
<p>Par un hasard extraordinaire, il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;artistes (pour un art book, c&#8217;est quand même important, non ?), et en particulier des artistes qui ont démissionné durant la production pour autant de raisons qu&#8217;il y a d&#8217;individus oubliés (Roxan, tu y es quand même : il doit s&#8217;agir d&#8217;une erreur !&#8230;).</p>
<p>Je tiens donc ici à témoigner tout mon respect, mes regrets et mon meilleur souvenir aux personnes suivantes sans qui Alone serait très loin de ressembler à ce qu&#8217;on peut voir circuler sur le net (je sais, c&#8217;est moins classieux qu&#8217;un art book, un post sur le blog de Gilles, mais c&#8217;est mieux que rien, désolé les gars ;)  )</p>
<p>Voici donc une liste des gens grâce à qui le jeu est ce qu&#8217;il est aujourd&#8217;hui :</p>
<p><strong>Vincent Joubert</strong> : responsable de la production des décors. Les vidéos et images qui circulent actuellement sur le net sont le fruit de son travail et de celui de son équipe. <p><strong>David &#8220;Paduction&#8221; Cellier</strong> (putaing cong) et<strong> Arnaud Real </strong>: je les mets dans le même sac, mais c&#8217;est parce qu&#8217;ils sont les auteurs de l&#8217;hilarant court métrage &#8220;Tong&#8221; ( <a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2um70_tong_fun">http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2um70_tong_fun</a> ) et qu&#8217;ils étaient inséparables dans leur &#8220;bureau des offrandes&#8221;. Ils ont travaillé des mois durant sur les expressions faciales des personnages du jeu. C&#8217;était sans doute le bureau le plus sympathique de l&#8217;étage (avec Nitro et Tof : que des bons gars !).  <a href="http://www.paduction.com/">http://www.paduction.com/</a> </p>
<p><strong>Mathieu Granjon</strong> : responsable également d&#8217;une partie des décors du jeu pendant plusieurs mois, il lui a sauvé la mise à l&#8217;aube d&#8217;un important salon en réalisant la fameuse scène de la façade qui s&#8217;écroule, avec laquelle le jeu a survécu deux ans. Il est aujourd&#8217;hui lead artist chez Widescreen Games et il mérite aussi de beaux projets. Bonne chance ! <p>Bien sûr, sur quatre ans et demi, j&#8217;ai conscience d&#8217;oublier certainement quelques personnes dont le passage a peut-être été bref mais qui ont apporté quelque chose au projet graphiquement (ou simplement leur bonne humeur). Qu&#8217;ils m&#8217;en excusent et n&#8217;hésitent pas à me faire signe : je les ajouterai aussitôt à cette dark liste&#8230;</p>
<p>Bref, pour ma part, neuf mois après, je crois avoir vu environ une douzaine d&#8217;images qui n&#8217;existaient pas quand j&#8217;ai quitté Eden (il y a neuf mois) : quatre ou cinq pages sur 71 (il y en a d&#8217;ailleurs de très réussies, bravo !). Les personnes citées plus haut restent les maîtres d&#8217;oeuvres des images présentes dans le art book.</p>

<p>En cette période où j&#8217;essaie de communiquer à mes étudiants l&#8217;importance de l&#8217;esprit d&#8217;équipe et du respect des individus et de tous les corps de métiers (oui, même le marketing !&#8230;), j&#8217;ai comme un goût amer dans la bouche et je me demande ce que je vais bien pouvoir leur expliquer pour les rassurer sur leur avenir&#8230;</p>

Нещо интересно което се вижда в трейлъра, е как главният герой сече чудовища с прилично голям меч, тоест трябва да очакваме и такъв вид арсенал в играта&#8230; Аве яко <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>I remember that old game - Alone in the Dark! I played this one way back in 1994 on my cousins old 486. It was a fantastic game, I still remember the wolf like creature that attacked in the attic and the sense of fear that was instilled in me. It was one of the first ever 3d horror games made and was the start to franchise with great potential. The game is a thinking game, using your head and the world around you to stay alive and work your way through the story. Unfortunately the second and third games were not very well received by the gaming community. It&#8217;s been 15 years since the release of the first game, and Eden Games along with Atari are set to release their new upcoming game Alone in the Dark: Central Park for June 26, 2008.</p>

<p>According to the developers the game is just in its polishing up stage, getting ready for the big release. From the numerous number of videos being released all over the Internet, it looks like they might just get it right this time. The world is much like a sandbox game, the number of different ways that you could kill creatures in the game number in the hundreds. They claim there will be over 30 weapons available to players in the game, and the way you use them will be up to you. The biggest tech-feature of the game will be fire. Fire is dynamic and propagates as you would expect it too. Items caught in flame will eventually burn away to nothing but ash. Atari claims that fire will be your primary method of killing off the creatures in the game.</p>
<p>The story will pick up nearly 80 years later in central park New York with Edward Carnby waking up to the hell that has consumed central park. So far the storyline is looking very epic, much on par with the the movie Cloverfield with city wide destruction and survival horror alike.</p>
<p>Expect nothing but the best from this game, as usual the PC will be the best platform for play even though it will release on 360 and the Wii, and later on the PS3. Check out the videos below.</p>

Mais certains vieillards dans la profession apprécieront ce petit retour aux sources, quand des crayons et des pinceaux étaient encore éparpillés sur les bureaux des graphistes et que de l&#8217;aquarelle apparaissait dans les notes de frais des boîtes de jeu vidéo.</p>
<p>Décidément, le premier personnage est vraiment le grand-père de Noa ! Surprenant (pour moi en tout cas !)&#8230;</p>
<p>Donc tout ça est fait au crayon et à l&#8217;aquarelle : rien de numérique là-dedans à part le scan. C&#8217;est marrant, ce blog : plus c&#8217;est récent, plus c&#8217;est vieux <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
