I am now an official winner *throws confetti toasts self*  And now the real work begins. The story is not complete and I definitely need to go back to the beginning and edit A LOT! Taking the NaNo challenge was pure madness. There were days I thought I would end up typing ”my story sucks” over and over to reach the 50k but I stuck to it and finally I had the 50k. And ya know, I’m sure I’ll do it again next year.  Unless of course I sign a major multi book multi million dollar deal.  Bahahahaha. 

NaNo made me focus on writing the story and although I did edit some my main thing was to keep writing and somewhere hidden among all the adverbs, the ands, buts and likes there turned out to be a viable story.  Now I just have to go back and calm down the adverbs and lose some of the extra words.  I no longer have a deadline looming over my head but the story has sucked me in and I desperately want to know how it ends. And after all the promises and never gonna happens…I am a now a writer of a shmexy vampire story.  Holy shit!

Navin Hardyal of Skeptic Media releases this online edit, initially intended for his video NoWhere Close, of captured Brooklyn Banks footage over the past three years. Most of the footage is of Evotek Media’s Why So Serious Competition with a bunch of great angles and coverage of tricks done during the comp. Skaters include Rafael Herrera, Evan Grimball, Alex Nunez, James Perez, Jesus Medina, Trevor Johnson, Sean Agoliati, Will Sorto, Tim Frankin, John Bolino, Anthony Chen, and Brian Shima. “Ive been sitting on this edit for about two months now. I was going to save it and use it for my video but i decided its been a while since i’ve put anything out and its been dying to be seen for way too long” – Navin Hardyal.

I posted a blog about our ring road project and how we were going to use Top Gear as the influence. After the meeting where we discusses our idea with out tutors we decided that it was too challenging to do with the time span and could be hard to make it interesting. We all went away and came up with various ideas each. When we next met up we discussed our ideas and one of my ideas was chosen. I had said about doing a nightmare scene where the person wakes up in the Allen Terry. After we did some story boarding we began to film. We are filming at night to enhance the nightmare genre. We are uploading the footage we have so far today and then we are going to decide what else we need to film.

I did my ELP test today for advantage, i passed with 82%, it was mainly common knowledge i thought!

Anthony Williams aka “Lil Montre” posted up a small edit of himself skating the Ring Rails and his basement the Bronx, NY. Besides skating a normal practice rail Anthony got creative and made a kicker to ledge setup where he laces a sick AO Fishbrain. Check the edit and start getting as creative as Anthony.

Psyko team rider Alejandro Velez is a great skater to watch. I’m a big fan of his creative yet technical style. It’s rare to see someone mix both aspects of skating, while also making it look good, and this edit is a great way to see it. Spots include Korean Rail and John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, NY along with various spots in New Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Revolt is one of the the best companies around LA and creating the Unite & Fight promo was a blast. I’ve never had this much input from the owners of a company, yet so much creative control. Looking forward to the next one.

Fight The Good Fight

Ben and I arranged to meet at Green Park Station, the old train station in Bath, which is conveniently undercover, lit up and with smooth wooden floor, for 5pm, and I was to bring the p-rail with me. This was a mistake. The thing weighs in at 20kg, which is a third of my bodyweight, and I was to carry it 20 minutes each way. My back and shoulders soon gave up and Ben came in the opposite direction to meet me.

Green park station was quite empty, though with two skateboarders skating the flat ground. They were immediately impressed with the rail, and asked to skate it, but I chose to decline as I doubted the plastic would hold up against a skateboard smashing down on it. Ben and I got skating eventually and found it quite weird to get used to, but once the break-in was over and done with we started hitting out tricks (see the edit).

All in all a great session, well worth the money and time spent on it, and hopefully the rest of the gang can make it next time!
