Cakewalk has announced that it’s now offering it a bunch of free Windows music software, including synths and effects processors.

Here’s what Cakewalk has to say about each of the freebies:

SFZ+ is rgc:audio’s SoundFont player sample-playback engine, packed in a professional VST/DXi instrument. Outstanding sound quality, stereo built-in effects, adjustable CPU/quality settings to adjust it to your hardware, fully multitimbral operation, multiple stereo outputs, several loading modes including direct-from-disk streaming and a beautiful interface make sfz+ the perfect choice for SoundFont users and professional composers.

Square I offers the warmness and classic sound of the vintage analog synthesizers, combined with the fidelity and precision of a VST instrument. A simple synthesizer, oriented to the serious music enthusiast.

Cakewalk Audio FX 1 is a series of real-time audio processing plug-ins. All Cakewalk Audio FX plug-ins are Microsoft DirectX- compatible, allowing you to use them with any digital audio software that supports DirectX – including Cakewalk SONAR and other Cakewalk applications.

Cakewalk Audio FX 2. Audio FX 2 uses advanced processing algorithms to apply the classic sound and warmth of several different vintage guitar amplifiers and analog tape decks to your digital audio.

Cakewalk Audio FX 3 SoundStage allows you to design acoustic environments in which to play back digital audio, resulting in unique, realistic reverb. Audio FX 3 Features Two Views: Performer’s View and Room View. To create the perfect room, just click and drag your mouse to move walls and change ceiling height. Choose from different microphones, and place them inside the room. Then assign each audio track to different “performer” positions to hear custom reverb on each track. When you’re finished, save your soundstage for other sessions, or use as a template for other designs. Audio FX 3 includes ready-to-use soundstages too.

As everything retro is in many people’s eyes better than everything modern, manufacturers have been

As everything retro is in many people’s eyes better than everything modern, manufacturers have been driven to make modern versions of older devices, instruments and amplifiers in order to capitalise on this enthusiasm for the past. Actually, some of the older kit was designed and built by enthusiasts rather than just engineers (though some of the enthusiasts were engineers as well as being musicians). This gave a certain amount of musicality and artistry to the technology, which is often lacking in these days of hard capitalism and charmless corporate products.

The RE-20 pedal is one of those voyages back into the past to a grand old Daddy of retro FX units, the Roland RE-201 Space Echo. I have an original RE-201 in my studio, so am able to compare the two, albeit in a highly subjective way as with everything musical (one man’s cacophony is another man’s symphony). The old RE-201, for those who don’t know, is a tape echo device with a spring-line reverb unit built in. It has a number of playback heads, and the tape speed can be varied. This allows everything from rapid slap-back echo to long psychedelic repeating phrase type effects. It has the typical decay pattern and sound of tape echo and can feedback on itself to help create wonderful or awful sounds as your taste dictates. It deserves classic status as it really did the job well, and appears on probably thousands of recordings, and is still being used. Boss have used their COSM modelling system to capture pretty much every nuance of what an RE-201 does, and squash it into a double-size Boss pedal. The front panel is obviously based on that of the RE-201 and they have done their best to make sure the same controls are there and that they do the same things.

The RE-20 pedal has a few features that the RE-201 did not. Firstly, you can set the echo rate using ‘tap tempo’ – tapping your foot on the right hand pedal. Personally, I really like this. It also has stereo inputs and outputs and an expression pedal socket. It doesn’t use tapes which wear out, and it is a lot smaller and lighter, and has footswitches built in. The RE-201 has a three channel mixer to increase the knob count on the front panel. I have never used either of the MIC inputs though. Take the lid off the RE-201 and you see the tape cassette, spare tape envelope and head assembly. Inside the lid is a pink and yellow idiot’s guide to using the Space Echo.

So what does the RE-20 sound like? To my ears it sounds very like the original RE-201 Space Echo. I have tried both of them one after the other, and apart from having to match the outputs to get signal levels correct, I could not really tell the difference. I was a bit afraid that the pedal might sound rather digital, but in fact the modelling is excellent. I have read other reviews that compare this pedal to other echo pedals like the Boss DD-3 which is not a fair comparison. The RE-20 is a very good effort at modelling an early ‘80s analogue tape echo with all the noise and flutter that goes with it. It is not intended as an alternative to a digital delay pedal, and in fact sounds quite different, but still good.

I have only tried the pedal as a guitar effect, and I did read somewhere that there are difficulties with using it as a send effect on a mixing desk, which might inhibit it’s use for dub, something for which it’s older tape-driven relative was justly famous. ON the other hand, someone else said this is rubbish and it can be used perfectly well as a send effect. One day I shall try it and see who is right.

Today’s economy has affected many things in our lives, money, prices, and our thought process.

Today’s economy has affected many things in our lives, money, prices, and our thought process. Yeah you probably expected to hear those things.

My mom told me about this lady…She was at a gas station in Orlando, Fl with her three-year old baby, she didn’t have enough money for gas and she walked up to some random man and offered to sell him her baby for some gas money. The man refused and told her was a cop…

Today’s economy is bringing out the worst in people, they offer babies for money, and are getting extremely reckless in traffic.

Yes having NO money would make go crazy, but there is a line of how crazy it will really make you get. (if you pass that line your brain is making you think its worse than it really is). Many people have crossed that line to a unessacerry point. So before you do that crazy stunt cause you don’t have money or for whatever reason…think about it, cause really? If you have no money or a job do you really think that selling your baby for the LITTLE price of gas money will help you get anywhere other than a few miles from the gas station.

Come on people you can only go so far before it is considered craziness.

I got this for 33 pounds on eBay, and it arrived in the original box with all leaflets and packaging. It has no real marks of use, and could well have come straight from the shop. It’s a brilliant pedal. I have often been dubious of distortion/fuzz/overdrive pedals, thinking I just liked overdriven valves. However, to get that sound from a valve amplifier, even a fairly small one, you have to drive it quite hard – meaning it will be very loud. Although the mesmerising beauty of my playing no doubt captivates my family and neighbours, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. I therefore cannot turn my amps up high all the time. This pedal does a great job of overdriving the input stage of my amp in such a way as to provide some great crunch that still has good definition.

I first used it in front of my Fender Deville with a Stratocaster. It sounded excellent after a few tweaks. I haven’t tried the distortion setting yet, but as an overdrive this pedal is very good indeed. You can see the settings I used on the right. I patched the pedal into the clean channel on the amp and could switch between clean/twangy and crunchy/powerful. Very nice little pedal, and at the ebay price great value. I think they are about 60 quid new, and are probably worth that much.

I spend a lot of my time working with effects and finding new ways to manipulate my bass sound digitally but when it comes to recording, I really value taking time to produce organic sounds to create a sonic landscape (this is what we were really going for with ‘Animals‘. A tip of the hat to Diego Stocco for what he’s done to his upright bass in this video! Keep watching through to the end, because the sounds really start to come together to make a nice sonic texture.

Dear, oh dear. The issue of the CRU hack is simply not going to go away. BBC Radio 4 gave some of it

Dear, oh dear. The issue of the CRU hack is simply not going to go away.

BBC Radio 4 gave some of its Today programme airtime to Nigel Lawson this morning. It’s not very clear to the casual listener exactly what Lawson’s position is, since he seemed to claim he wasn’t denying the science, just the policy, perhaps in a similar fashion to Bjorn Lomborg. But (it seemed to me whilst having breakfast) Lawson then went on to question the science.

Annoyingly, Lawson, an experienced politician (though disastrous economic policy-maker – stoking back in the 1980s the sort of boom-bust his party, the Tories are ironically criticising Labour for – so his track record doesn’t suggest a lot of faith should be put in his judgement of complex issues) and therefore used to media appearances, came across rather better than the scientist (whose name I didn’t catch) up against him.

I picked up a couple of points:

1. 1998 still warmest year

Lawson kept insisting it hasn’t warmed since 1998.

The problem here is that the scientists have picked the wrong weapon for the duel. The average surface temperature is highly variable. It varies by much more than the average annual temperature increase, so is bound to vary erratically over relatively short time periods.

The point is that the ocean will take many centuries – possibly millennia – to completely warm up. It only takes a larger than average amount (or strictly area) of cold water coming to the surface one year to reduce the average surface temperature of the planet compared to the previous year.

But the ocean gains heat (and ice melts) every year that the planet is out of thermal equilibrium (radiating less heat away than it receives from the Sun, because GHGs capture the energy). Perhaps the scientists should develop tools for measuring the total heat gain of the planet – or at least the oceans – rather than the average surface temperature. They could then tell us how many PWh (maybe the next up EWh, exawatt hours) we’ve gained each year.

But what really gets me is how much the scientists downplay another major prediction of their theory – that there will be more extreme weather. The rhetoric they use is bizarre. Normally you hear (and Hilary Benn the UK Government Minister said this sort of thing on Sunday) something along the lines of “you can’t attribute a single event to climate change” and “this is the sort of thing we can expect more of in future”.

I’d like to make a philosophical point here. I’d like to dispense with this ridiculous “can’t attribute a single event to climate change” business. Because you can’t not attribute it to climate change either! We do not have the luxury of what scientists would call a “control”. We have no other planet where we haven’t put GHGs into the atmosphere. When someone says “you can’t attribute a single event to climate change” people hear “it might have happened anyway”. No, it might not have happened anyway, because there is no “anyway”.

What I really don’t understand is why the scientists don’t make more of events that confirm their theory. Because that’s how science progresses. The prediction is “there will be more extreme weather events, such as flooding”. In the UK this week we’ve had such an extreme event. We’ve had the heaviest rainfall ever experienced in 24 hours.

Let’s just consider how big a record this is. The UK has been recording weather for a long time – centuries. And in all that time there’s never been as much rain in a 24 hour period. In fact, I’ve heard the previous record – the Martinstown Deluge of 1955 – doubted because of its implausibility!

If it was me I’d be crowing. The theory predicted this sort of thing. The Cockermouth event is strong support for global warming.

Consider other complex systems, the financial markets, say. You might hear predictions along the lines of “continued loose monetary policy will lead to further rises in the price of gold”. When the gold price rises do you think those who predicted it um and ah about how “it might have happened anyway”? You bet you don’t.

2. Datasets not in the public domain

Another point came out of the discussion on Today this morning. If I gathered correctly what was being said, the point was that the hacked emails included cases of data being wiped. And apparently it turns out this is because some of those who supplied the data considered it to be a valuable asset (in fact, it presumably is a valuable asset in that it can be sold). This is unacceptable.

It’s a fundamental tenet that scientific findings must be reproducible. And if the finding is an analysis of certain data, then others are unable to reproduce the findings. Perhaps the Copenhagen participants should spend a little of the $bns they’re throwing at the problem on paying data owners (meteorological offices) to put their data in the public domain. Scientific conclusions shouldn’t have to rely on the integrity of those with privileged access to measurements!

Part of the problem is the science seems so arcane to the general public. It needn’t be. We can all look at weather records and perhaps should be encouraged to do so.

You can, for example, download various historical records from the UK Met Office website and do your own analysis. Basically anyone can put together this sort of thing, from Joe Romm’s site.

My irritation should not, I suppose, be with “the scientists”. I know that’s what I’ve written. But it’s an oversimplification. The problem is partly the way science works. Detailed work is rewarded much more highly, in general, than high level explanation. We need more generalists who can bridge the gap between the nitty-gritty science and the public.

Here, again from Joe Romm’s blog is how the issue should be presented. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid.

First off, I must apologize for procrastinating on Mothpowder. You see, Mothpowder is the result of me procrastinating from essays and other school work, and I’ve been having… more than I expected. Sure, I’m comfortable writing essays, but french ones? not as much. The rules are far more complicated, and the subject isn’t one I’m familiar with, so everything’s gone all loopy with my writing. I go from formal to not, and back again. But these days, I’ve been craving some Mothpowder and I know now why I’m having so much difficulty with this.

For one, writing is not my initial medium. I’ve been taught to paint with brushes, not words. This is a challenge. I have my ideas, but when I start to write them out in order, with some kind of flow, the flow fails and I store it away to be forgotten. I suppose I admit I haven’t been confident in my writing. I’m alright with small writing, like poems, mini short stories. They’re simple and that’s my comfort zone. I don’t like complications or detail. Even in my drawings I rarely went further than sketches. Slowly, I’m returning to the habit of writing. My mom discovered my work (onoes) and encourages me to write more, possibly scripts for films. She’s been nosy, likes to know what I’m up to. But I like my private life, too. Some time alone is always nice and rewarding.

However, I did get a little something out of this writing hiatus. An idea for a sequel. Its title will be Tearlint. For a third, if it should happen, I have Ashenfade. Hurray! Progress. (:<

Earlier today, I was really inspired by the Behind The Scenes footage of the upcoming movie The Road, starring Viggo Mortensen. Written by the same writer/director who did No Country For Old Men. Maybe The Road will prompt me to see the latter, since I haven’t although I’ve been wanting to since its nominations at the Oscars on its release year. For those who don’t know, The Road is set in a post-apocalyptic America, about a pair of remaining survivors; a father & his son. The movie portrays the emotion the two main characters face so beautifully, and I truly admire the director, who refused to have a studio & instead shot the entire film on location. This movie comes out november 25th, so while I waited for its release, friday night, I watched the new Star Trek movie. Loved it. Highlyrecommend it. I mean, I’m no Trekkie, and I totally fell in love with Chris Pine. He’s a babe, first of all, and his friendship with Spock was so cute. <: Okay, some shots were really cheesy, but it was fun and totally worth watching with my mum!

Speaking of movies.

My own film is currently undergoing post-production. We’re working on editing and hopefully filling out as much as possible until the deadline. It’s due tomorrow, my but team & I believe he’s just bullshitting and the project is going to be pushed for later during the week. So far, it’s looking delicious. We’ve got some nice effects, ideas from everyone in the team. I loved to work on this so much more since we all got a chance to do everything. Directing, filming, editing, sound. Everyone did their part. We even got our own stunt-person.

You cannot go more legit than this.

Funny shooting moment:

we’re getting ready to shoot a scene in the woods. all of a sudden, we pause, start looking at eachother. it smelled like rotten egg.

Ally: Okay, who the hell farted.

Marie: Wasn’t me.

Me: Wasn’t me – and I would tell you if it was me.

We ignore it for a while, keep shooting. It smells like shit now.

Ally: we can’t shoot in this stink. WTF!

me: could be a bear. bears are smelly.

marie: (we were by her house in the middle of nowhere) yeah there’s supposed to be one around here.

Ally: oh great. I’m going to be some overgrown animal’s dinner!

We hear rustling in the woods. Everyone gasps.

Turns out it was a dear doing its business nearby.

I love being one with nature. Don’t you?

MİNE TUDUK – Hurriyet Daily News

Bulgaria, Romania and Tunisia have become Hollywood’s backyards because of low production costs, which is also an advantage for Turkish special effects makeup artists. Turkish makeup artists are popular internationally due to their high-quality work and low costs. While some work on projects abroad, some send their designs to foreign countries

Two Turkish space pilots enter a gravitational field during a routine mission and encounter aliens on a strange planet. Cüneyt Arkın, one of the two pilots, fights these unidentified aliens. Yeşilçam’s (Turkish Hollywood) first science fiction film, “Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam” (The Man Who Saves the World), made in 1982, is remembered for these scenes, effects and aliens.

Both Yeşilçam and the special effects industry in Turkey have made advancements since the 1982 film and are now opening up to the world.

Turkish prosthetic and latex special effects makeup experts, who create interesting characters out of their knowledge of anatomy, sculpture, chemistry, color and imagination, are popular not only in Turkish cinema but around the world.

The fact that films are shot in countries such as Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Tunisia and Australia due to low production costs has become a particularly new opportunity for Turkish makeup designers. They are preferred for their high-quality work and low prices, and take part in projects abroad with effects such as broken arms, severed heads or fantastical creatures.

Demand from the underground causes an atelier to close shop

Arzu Yurter is a Turkish expert in the field of latex makeup design. Yurter, who is known recently after being asked to apply latex makeup to Ergenekon case witnesses, discovered the art form eight years ago. She received her education in Turkey and abroad. Working for films, commercials and photography shoots in which latex makeup is applied. Yurter is known for her work in “gothic style.”

“I can make a man a woman and a woman a man with plastic makeup. Even their father would not know them,” she said.

Yurter said recent developments in cinema created a new sector that lets Turkish makeup artists take part in important projects abroad. “Makeup artists’ wages change between 50,000 to 200,000 euros in Europe and the U.S. according to the project. It is between 600 and 1,600 Turkish Liras weekly in Turkey. When Turkish makeup artists work for a foreign project, they earn 400 to 550 euros daily for the projects of the same quality,” she said.

Yurter said she created plastic noses, chins, severed arms and legs for films in Korea, and also worked for many film projects in Italy, Romania and Canada as well as the Far East. She also told the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review about some of the interesting proposals she has received.

“I received very different proposals when my name became known for latex makeup, which was planned to be applied to Ergenekon case witnesses. Security officials visited my atelier for the project, but we did not make a contract. After hearing this, I received interesting proposals that I could never accept. Some said ‘change the face of my gunman.’ Since I became a target, it disturbed me so I had to close down my atelier,” she said.

People come from L.A., Bollywood

Arzu Yurter

Corci is the first name that comes to mind in the special effects makeup sector in Turkey. In his 35 years as a special effects makeup artist, his experience has been applied to many films made in foreign countries. Corci said he has received many proposals in recent years. “Bulgaria and Romania are like the backyards of Hollywood. Turkish makeup artists are preferred because they are very good and are priced low.”

Corci said demand from abroad was not limited to Bulgaria and Romania: “I get proposals from many countries to give training. I have attended many training sessions and seminars in Bulgaria and the Turkic Republics. On the other hand, there are those who come to Turkey for training. Students from Los Angeles, Canada, Iran, France and Bollywood, the heart of the cinema industry in India, come to Turkey in groups a few times a year. I teach them the details of the business.”

Corci

In the 35th year of his professional life, Corci plans to establish a new project: “I will make molds of famous faces for my new project. I am planning to take molds of nearly 35 people and want to open a museum or an exhibition to display these molds.”

Where creatures of your dreams are made

Dükkan-ül Hayal, founded by Emir Özer and Zeynep Nuhoğlu in 2006, is Turkey’s only latex makeup and animatronics special effects atelier. Özer and Nuhoğlu, who can create 2-meter monsters, said latex makeup and special effects require a disciplinary effort. “Recently, we have been working with higher-cost films and directors, but latex makeup is not completely understood in Turkey. They asked us to make a Terminator in three days last week. We were excited about it, but it was not possible,” said Nuhoğlu.

She said the fact that horror and super hero films have recently done well at the box office and the revival of Turkish cinema have increased interest in special effects makeup, adding: “The opening of different special effects and latex makeup studios will develop the sector more. The younger generation, particularly shows interest in this sector. Students from Mimar Sinan and Marmara fine arts faculties work as assistants in our projects.”

Nuhoğlu said they have plans for the sector’s development: “We plan to make a film, written by Emir Özer. We will use various visual effects and latex makeup applications. We will send the film to foreign festivals and prove to the world how good the business is carried out in Turkey.”

As for interesting demands, Nuhoğlu said: “Some people call us from the Black Sea and ask us to completely change their face or make their nose smaller. We don’t accept demands like this unless it for a production, because it is unethical.”

The cost of special effects and latex makeup differs according to each project. The cost of a scene where the artist will be cut in two, the camera dimensions and lighting conditions would cost between 7,000 and 25,000 liras. The cost of face makeup is around 6,000 liras.

I have a lot of comments with the movie itself, the actor who played the character, the graphics used, special effects, the dialogs, the soundtrack…everything.

Now is the time to use it!

In this piece I’m going to talk about Minoxidil side-effects. If you’re pondering using

In this piece I’m going to talk about Minoxidil side-effects. If you’re pondering using Minoxidil, its one of the best options you can go with. Its the only FDA approved ingredient that has been attempted, tested, and proved to excite new hair growth. The main thing you should look into is the complications of using this medication, because it isn’t fully perfect. Below are a selection of these defects users adversely experience when taking it.

side effects you’ll Experience

One of the commonest side effect that many experience when taking Minoxidil is flaking and irritation to your scalp. Inflammation is another common side effect as the scalps of many users become a bit red. Many people seek to have a look for a solution that’s stronger than 5% yet the effects can get pretty serious.

Less common effects include itching and rashes to your scalp.

Rare side-effects with Minoxidil include dizziness, tenderness to the juggs, reoccurring headaches, upset stomachs which result in puking, intense burning in your scalp, reddened skin ( not only the scalp ).

Its crucial to understand the more significant side effects are not common and the common side effects have a tendency to not be really dangerous to your body. In total, Minoxidil is one of the finest solutions you can take to treat your hair. Its necessary to understand that your chances of experiencing Minoxidil side effects are significantly reduced if you follow the express directions that are included in whatever Minoxidil product you choose to go with. Many times folks who overuse the treatment will experience these kinds of effects.

vital points to Note :

One of the finest products you can take that contains Minoxidil is an herbal hair formula called Provillus. I say this because they take multiple approaches to treating your hair, Minoxidil being one of the many. This is important because those that see the most ends up in hair regrowth are those who approach their situation with some different solutions.

On top of including a Minoxidil topical gel, Provillus contains an herbal supplement which is useful in preventing further hair loss. It contains ingredients like Saw Palmetto, which inhibit your DHT from attaching to your hair follicles. It also contains necessary minerals and vitamins your body needs to maintain hair function such as growth. When giving your body multiple solutions for alopecia, this significantly increase your odds of effectiveness. For these reasons, Provillus is one of the finest solutions which contain Minoxidil.

It wasn’t ever planned this way but every winter, prompted I suppose by the long dark evenings

It wasn’t ever planned this way but every winter, prompted I suppose by the long dark evenings, I used to embark on a craft project – normally embroidery or crochet. This week we’ve been lashed by horrible gales, with pelting rain pounding endlessly against the windowpanes and as going out is not really an option, I’ve sorely felt the lack of something creative to be working with in my hands.

Since April of 2003 I’ve had to learn to rely on my left hand and for an intrinsically right-handed person that has brought a series of frustrations. My once beautiful writing (coincidentally, compared by someone to embroidery) is no more, and though friends kindly say that my left-handed scrawl is better than their day to day writing, it’s no comfort to me because I simply don’t derive the pleasure I once did in writing personal notes, birthday cards and crumbs, even the weekly shopping list. Holding a crochet hook has become difficult, a needle and thread virtually impossible on my right-hand side and, more than that, concentrating on a complicated cross stitch, needlepoint or straight embroidery chart seems to frazzle my brain because I get tired so quickly and make silly and frustrating mistakes.

Well no more. I’ve often joked that my bloody-mindedness has been a saving grace in my stroke recovery. Initially I was unable to hold a camera and the fine movement of twitching one finger to press the shutter button was all but impossible. Of all the creative things I did pre-stroke however, I knew that photography was going to be the simplest to get back to. I’m 80% of the way there now – still sometimes struggling with that simple shutter movement and always, always more shaky than before. Thank the Lord therefore (and those clever manufacturers) for ‘image stabilisation’, handy tripods and an ever-helpful and loving husband who is always willing to act as camera assistant and even, sometimes, as improvised camera equipment – providing shade and holding me tight to keep me steady.

I don’t like to be beaten and with the rain once again keeping me inside, today I started to look at simple cross-stitch kits on the web. Realistically I’m going to have to sew with my left hand as holding a needle in my right is currently, quite frankly, a non-starter. However, if I can successfully read a chart, translate it to fabric and complete the task, it’s going to set me on a similar path to my photography – I will improve, given time. I think I’m going to either order this kit (to make a little cross-stitch fronted needle case) or look for something similar locally. It should be quick, simple, and at the end of it all provide something pretty and useful to either keep, or give away. If I plug away at it, who knows? One day – I may graduate back to attempting this.

I’m also going to start practising writing again. I’ve given up on this so many times before because the concentration required to hold and move a pen with my mostly paralysed right hand has, in all seriousness, quickly given me a headache – it has been far easier to simply give up and rely on my left. That too is going to change. I’m going to start short sessions of right-hand writing – the relevant word there being ’short‘. If I do this little and often, like a child learning to write, I’m hoping that one day I can get back to full right-handed writing and if I can do that, well, maybe, just maybe I’ll have enough mobility in my fingers to think about getting back to playing the piano. The creative me is crying out to be released again and although it’s going to be a long journey, I owe it to myself to give it another try.

Protonix – acidic reflux is History With Protonix!

Acid reflux is one of the most common health conditions that can trouble someone day or night. Actually it is understood that hyper-acidity can be significantly worse when you lie down, so for many people, eating and sleeping could be a total nightmare .

Protonix information

Protonix is part of a group of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors that actually lower the quantity of stomach juice secreted by the stomach. Many doctors prescribe it for numerous conditions that are related to hyper-acidity.

Administered in cases of esophagitis and the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, Protonix has shown extremely successful even for the most deteriorated of conditions. However, to increase the efficiency of this medication you will definitely need to adhere to a healthy antacid diet.

Some infirmities require long-term administration of Protonix, but you could have to learn on the pros and cons in the impact this drug can have on the overall health given the undeniable fact that it’s not free of side effects.

In case you have recently used Protonix for quite a long time, you should take some blood tests and see where your mineral and vitamin levels stand. For instance, it is commonly recognized that you’ll develop a deficiency in the absorption of B-12 vitamin and slowly show the signs precise to it : pale skin, exhaustion, fast pulse or trouble breathing.

warnings and Precaution Measures

Some drugs are likely to interfere with Protonix Side Effects so either these or the Protonix ought to be avoided. If taken together, one or each of the drugs may not work properly.

Blood thinners are likely to interfere with Protonix

many kinds of antibiotics could be less efficient if taken with Protonix – one example is ampicillin which is frequently used to treat minor infections

Protonix can also affect certain anemia treatments which work by iron reinforcement, making them less efficient

your physician might change dosages if you want to take Protonix in combination with any of the drugs discussed above. This can cut back your chance of complications.

Adverse reactions to Protonix can include allergic replies, such as swelling, hives or a skin rash. Other complications might be barfing, nausea or digestive symptoms like gas, bloating or butt rot.

Last month, Pat O’Keefe and I were called into the lab by our boss Dr. Colby Leider. He needed our help preparing for a performance that was occurring in three days with Clarinetist Arthur Campbell.

Colby composed seven movements for this performance which required a motion sensor and a microphone to be mounted on the bell of Arthur’s clarinet. He and Pat had been working on the sensor with the help of Stephen Molfetta and Sarah Idriss.

Figure 1: Microcontroller

The sensor is composed of a 3D accelerometer and a gyroscope connected via thin blue wires to a microcontroller, Figure 1, which also has a pedal attached to it that sits on the floor and senses when the musician is stepping on it. The microcontroller is worn on the musician’s belt and transmits wirelessly to Colby’s computer which is with him at the back of the auditorium during the performance.

Colby’s assignment to me was awesome! I was to write the program that captured and responded to the wireless information coming from the microcontroller on Arthur’s belt. The program needed to respond in a couple of different ways depending on the movement (section of music) being performed. To give Colby this functionality, I used the programming environment and language Supercollider. In Supercollider, I created an application for each movement and then created a graphical user interface, Figure 2, to allow Colby to start and stop each application to coincide with Arthur’s playing during the performance.

Figure 2: Twin Prime Conjecture program screen shot.

Here are the most notable program functions:

i. Record and Loop: When Arthur steps on and holds down the pedal sensor, the program records his live clarinet sound. When he releases the pedal, the program begins to loop that recording. He can then step, record, release, and loop as many times as he wants with all the previous loops continuing to play. To stop the loops, Arthur has to lift the bell of his clarinet up above 45 degrees from a vertical position.

ii. Sample Triggering: In several of the movements, Arthur is triggering pre-recorded samples of an orchestra with the pedal sensor mentioned above. For each movement application, a list of samples is collected in the order the samples are to be played. When Arthur steps on the pedal, the first sample in the list will be played. The next time he steps on the pedal, the second sample will be played, and so on. Each sample is a recording of the orchestra playing one chord, in which Colby digitally pitch-shifted into just intonation.

iii. Record and Loop / Sample Triggering: The first movement combines functions i and ii, so that Arthur is able to record and loop when his clarinet is below 45 degrees and sample trigger when the bell of his clarinet is above 45 degrees.

iv. Reson Filter + Feedback: In the final movement, Arthur walks up to a speaker outputting sound from his clarinet, and points the bell of his clarinet into the speaker. This creates feedback which is being controlled and effected by my program on Colby’s computer. Colby had assigned the output of the motion sensor on the clarinet to control the parameters of a reson filter. This is the most “electronic sounding” portion of the performance.

Program Notes

This was an awesome project. I had a lot of fun doing it. Colby and Arthur have a number of performance dates lined up all across the US. Below is a recording of Twin Prime Conjecture from their last performance. Enjoy.

Domestic violence is not reported to authorities. One major reason is that, like verbal abuse, domes

Domestic violence is not reported to authorities. One major reason is that, like verbal abuse, domestic violence is often regarded as "an invaluable".

And to complicate matters, are often not considered abuse in several states and countries, thus giving the authorities say no. Particularly in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, where there are no statistics or the recorded number of children victims of abuse due tolarge numbers and cultural impact.

It is estimated that over 50% of children victims of domestic violence. At this point you may decide to support that ', but 50% of children do not reveal failures'

We must consider the fact that all those who are not satisfied with their lives, approaches and discussions, we know that the examples are only the reflection of the whole given the intensity of their actions.

I suggest you look at the amount of depthPeople who suffer from stress and other mental disorders. Even so, I agree all the blame can only be achieved at national level but also for society / cultural and other aspects.

Domestic violence: The act of physically hurting a human being within the confines of the family.

This applies not only to children but also for women in a very large scale because there is something unusual to hit a woman in many parts of the world.

What are the effectsdomestic violence?

For starters, it gives the impression or understanding with the mind of a child that "violence is good" and take the child to play the violence as a last resort to personal problems.

This, of course, favors not only bullying, but a potential risk factor of injury to the knowledge of other damage.

For women, it is simply a violation of human rights, to say the least of it. One factor that must be understood is that children who see theirmother to be treated with violence are likely to have devastating effects on their attitude.

This encourages gender discrimination that would be another difficult issue to address in some societies and cultures.

The worst effect of violence in the short term is that the national children avoid consultation with parents, for fear of violence and can make decisions based on its assessment that have little experience or knowledge.

Secondly, thisalso creates an environment for the submission of children to adults, regardless of who the adult. Although this does not seem serious, it is the door to sexual abuse of children.

Now the question is how domestic violence can be avoided?

Indeed, several factors must be taken into account

Firstly the training:

1.) Schools must make a sincere effort to condemn all forms of violence andoutside the child's home.

This helps children understand that violence is unacceptable and must be reported, it is the first step, the recognition of injustice.

2.) The government should publicize and make freely available to centers for the protection of minors mass

We must understand that children rarely know where to turn in such scenarios.

Given that, we must make a sincere effort to organize groups of volunteers or officers with authority of governmentdesigned to protect the rights of children, while being easily accessible.

3.) The media should consider increasing and the intensity of the problem

The media are responsible for news and public awareness, and emotions in the minds of its viewers, I think if the media make a sincere effort in bringing glory to specific cases of child abuse that have caused death or serious injury from physical violence, would require the authorities to takeAction

4.) You should make a sincere effort to help every child know that you are victims of domestic violence

At the end of the day, with no media and no advertising may also be useful for a child as a supporting adult who understands and explains his situation. It is very useful for a child to have another adult to renounce violence and violent behavior, while promoting greater freedom in the life of the child, these cases represent a significant difference in the development of personalitythe victim.
