So the last two days have been a little more eventful the usual. Yesterday was my brother’s birthday so instead of coming home from soccer practice at 10:30Pm and going straight to bed, I stayed up with him and his friends and my other brother to play the game ” Things ,” and then Crokinole. By nearly 2:00AM, I was more then a little tired and ready to call a quitz. By the time I fell asleep, it was nearly 3:00AM. However, I never ended up getting the sleep I’d wanted. I suffered from one of what I like to call “Insomnia” attacks, where I wake up every hour or so, for no apparant reason. I can’t explain why this happens, but it does. It’s incredibly frustrating and my mental awareness suffers in the morning.

Today I could hardly function due to a combination of the lack of sleep and stress I’m starting to feel over the assignments, exams, and things I need to get done before I leave for Mexico in a little over eight days. After a grooling day at school, I opted out of working out at the gym to go home and rest, stopping only to pick up sushi and cash a work cheque to pay the bills with.

Took this photo today. Thought it looked almost like a piece of Roman Potteryand decided I might as well photograph it for fun. It’s also appropriate and relatable to the book I’m reading currently, which has to do with the Roman Empire and Augusts’ reign.

Hace un tiempo se comento que dos ambiciosos proyectos como The Getaway 3 y Eight Days habían sido cancelados para comenzar con otro proyecto (EyePet).

Pero resulta que ahora uno de los productores y directores artísticos de Sony en Londres afirma que los proyectos han sido, más bien, suspendidos que cancelados. Según cita Nicolas Doucet, “yo no diría que no han sido cancelados, sino apartados.” debido a que “se había hecho mucho trabajo. El estudio tan sólo quiso concentrar sus esfuerzos en EyeToy y SingStar.”

Según Doucet los proyectos se encuentran a la mitad de su desarrollo y lo más probable es que se retomen. Más buenas noticias para este mercado.

I don’t know what I want to write about. I don’t know what I want to do right now. I don’t know what I want to do with my life.

Well crap, talking to Brendan always makes me think about the big things. God and life, love, materialism and all of those… big things. Deep thinking. Like floodwater deep (and that’s pretty deep, kids).

Oh man, does my head hurt. It’s just beginning to start to pound. My sister has a friend over, so it’s not like I can go in my room and sing to music. Or even practice and try to talk myself out of the headache. Nope, I have to be a docile little girl and not scare the shit out of Tara with melodic lines warbling through the troposphere.

I think I might grab some cappuccino (we went to Wal-Mart today) and head downstairs anyway, turn on some Avett Brothers or Anna Netrebko or maybe Bob Marley. I don’t care about what my sister’s friend thinks about me, that’s not why I’m not going to practice. I do care that my vocal techniques might make Tara’s somewhat critical and clique-y attitude whip toward my sister. They already call me the Opera Freak… therefore I won’t make Michelle pull more excuses out of the air about me. I think she already has enough of a hard time, because so many people that know me end up meeting her. She came home from Drama Camp one day and told me I was the Devil’s spawn. Ripley called her Kim. Emma called her Kim. Everyone else called her Kim’s little sister, except for like, Colleen. I think it gets a little old after a while.

So I won’t put any more stress on her. I’ll lay low and put together my bag for school (eight days!). I might cobble together a “first day” outfit. Drink some caffeinated beverage, and organize some old story snippets.

Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. It’ll be a cozy, hopefully relaxing end to the day. Maybe.

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/20/08…

1. I am DONE WRAPPING PRESENTS!?!?! I love planning & shopping, but wrapping – not so much. Oh sure, the first few are fun and I listen to Christmas music while I do it. But fifty or so in & it starts to get old! And then I said to hubby tonight, “I’m sorry, but I’m not being as creative as I usually am wrapping things.” *pause* Him: “You’re usually creative wrapping things?” *SCREAMS* Normally I try to wrap stuff so you can’t immediately tell what it is. Nice to know my efforts were noticed & appreciated. LOL!

2. The HD_Holidays posts. I hope to go back and rec at some point but I’m too tired to find links right now.

3. I got to SLEEP IN for the first time in AGES today. And by sleep in I mean I didn’t get up until 4pm. Okay, I didn’t leave the BED *leer* until 6pm or so. But I was awake at 4.

4. Did I mention I got my wrapping done? Ridiculously excited about that!!

5. Teasing with my husband about the alleged bishie boy he’s bought me for Christmas. LOL! “Have you fed him tonight?” “Is he lonely up in the attic?”

6. Pandora. As in www.pandora.com. I can’t recall if I’ve already mentioned this in these lists but I don’t think I have. Pandora lets you “seed” your own radio station with certain artists or songs & then it pulls & plays music that matches those artists or songs. I have a “anything & everything” channel that plays classical & 80’s & random J-pop. I also have a “Musicals” channel. Love that one. And I have a Christmas music channel. Woo!

7. Singing in the car at top volume. While I don’t THINK I sound like a cat in heat caterwauling for the local toms, I’m by no means a GREAT singer. But in the car, by myself, I love belting songs out. Heaven help me if anyone ever bugs my vehicle. Or maybe heaven help THEM! HA!

8. Pizza. (Hey, didn’t Joe use this one too?) On second thought – I’m changing this one to *samebrain* or perhaps *semebrain* *grin* *samebrain* rules!!

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/18/08…

1. Snow. We don’t have any here and you’d think it was the APOCALYPSE when they even hint at it, but I love how pretty and quiet and peaceful everything seems when it snows.

2. Prompts. I love coming up with crazy prompts. For example – plastic paperclips, small stuffed cow, gift card, jar of M&Ms (or just candy). (Oddly enough, I have all of those things on my desk at work. LOL!) Now go! Write! WOO!

3. Auntie Drommie. *snort* Brilliant.

4. Advent stories / drabbles. I haven’t had a chance to keep up with very many of them but I’m SO looking forward to playing catch-up in January!!

5. Getting the giggles. Joe – I’m pretty sure I used 1/2 a roll of tape. On ONE. Heh.

6. Related to #5, silly things you’d like to do. We have an attorney who looks like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. The other day I rounded a corner and he was standing there. For a brief moment I wanted to flinch, throw my hands up to shield my face, and go, “Oh! Geez!! Come ON! I just ate!” I didn’t but it made me grin the rest of the day to think of what would have happened if I had.

7. Reading everyone else’s Happy Meme posts. Perhaps that’s a cop out but I love reading what brings people joy. And it gives a bit of insight into the daily lives of my lovely flisters! *snuggles*

8. Good friends you can vent to. I have symbiotic relationships with a number of lovely ladies to whom I can bitch, and who can bitch to me too. It’s nice to have that support network. And different ones can commiserate about different problems. For example, my co-worker friend completely understands what I mean when I say I kinda want to punch the new guy in the face. It’s refreshing to not be alone in your frustration.

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/19/08…

1. Having a lunch routine. Monday’s = Amigo’s (yay for chips & salsa), Tuesdays is usually Steamboat (yay for chicken chili taco salad), Wed. & Thurs are open to suggestion and then Fridays are Taco Mac (yay for chips & cheese dip) – If they ever come up with a chips/cheese dip/salsa diet – I’m gonna be sooooo thin! LOL!

2. Weather. It is gloomy and overcast today but it’s WARM and NOT RAINING and the breeze feels nice. YAY!

3. Having a sweet, bed!Plump. Let me explain. My black cat is named Mayonaka (midnight in Japanese – Ai, correct me if I’m wrong). However, she is about the size of a throw pillow. A very heavy, large throw pillow. So we sometimes call her Plumpy (it started out as My Plumpling Dumpling but has become Plumpy) or just Plump. My other cat, Nezumi (mouse/rat in Japanese – again, Ai, smack me & correct me if I’m wrong) will only get on the bed with us as we’re going to bed or when we’re waking up. She’ll snuggle for a bit & then go away. Also, if we move around at all she jumps down. But when we’re awake and about, she’s extremely needy and will sit in our laps all day long. Plumpy is only a lap kitty if she wants something. But at night she’ll sometimes get on the bed. And once she settles at the foot of the bed, there is NO moving her. You can roll around, adjust the covers, whatever. As long as you’re not kicking her repeatedly, she’s not going anywhere. So we call her bed!Plump. And she’s usually pretty tolerant of petting, snuggling and general harassment by her adoring people. All of that to say, she was a bed!Plump this morning & it was precious!

4. “Draco & Harry” by The Whomping Willows. I can’t swear that’s the official title but I think it is. YAY for H/D-shipping in the Wrock world! LOL!

5. Under-the-bed restraint systems – and confusing/terrifying your co-workers with details about them. (FYI – The straps go under, the plaything goes ON the bed… unless you just like keeping your pets chained under the bed. LOL!)

6. Being there to counsel my friends. I have several friends who come to me for advice & chocolate. One of them even calls me Lupin. Although I like to pretend she means TEDDY Lupin. LOL! (I kinda said this one before didn’t I? It’s been a counseling kinda week.)

7. Harry & David’s Milk Chocolate Covered Bing Cherries – OMG AWESOME!

8. Sharing in others’ joy. I know so many people who can’t be happy for themselves, much less other people. I, however, love when others are happy, either through my actions or outside factors. I try to be the “bouncy happy” friend that everyone wants to share their exciting news with.

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/16/08…

1. Great mix CDs. My truck radio can play MP3s so I have this massively huge MP3 CD I play and every time I put it in I go, “Oh yea, THIS is on here. I forgot I added that to the list.” It makes me smile.

2. Songs that remind you of old friends. ‘Gridlocked’ by The Pogues, ‘Fade Into You’ by Mazzy Star, ‘What’s New Pussycat’ by Tom Jones and ‘I Wanna Hippopotamus For Christmas’ will always remind me of my best (guy) friend from high school, Jacob.

3. Inside jokes. I have inside jokes with most of my friends. It is so fun to be in a crowd of people and still be able to speak in our own private code. I can look at my BFF and say, “Ooltra” and watch her crack up. I can look at another friend and say, “There was a bee” and she’ll crack up. Good times.

4. Falling asleep on the couch watching hubby play Viva Pinata. LOL!

5. Chips & salsa!! Oh, and cheese dip! Mmm….

6. Spreadsheets. I’m a dork, I know. I have this ridiculously complex spreadsheet for my Christmas shopping and I spend almost as much time tweaking the spreadsheet to make it more “efficient” as I spend actually picking out Christmas presents. It’s so much fun!

7. Flisters who get and appreciate my bizarre sense of humor! “Hocus what?”

8. The Dresden Dolls – I haven’t heard the latest CD but “The Dresden Dolls” and “Yes, Virginia” are AWESOME! It doesn’t hurt that she’s adorable and he’s pretty darned hot (woohoo for drummer abs)!

AND

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/17/08…

1. Being able to mark stuff off of a “To Do” list

2. A hubby who will offer to drive me around to finish my Christmas shopping (so I don’t have to battle Mall traffic alone, in the dark)

3. Tokio Hotel – BILL! GUH!

4. Space heaters – I am perpetually frozen so these little guys are a life saver!

5. Organizing presents. I only like wrapping about half the time, but sorting everything out is fun.

6. Childhood books – “The Strange Disappearance of Arthur Cluck” and “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs” in particular!

7. Bendy straws – since Cheryl gave me that prompt I realized I use them at home & at work quite a bit. LOL!

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/15/08…

1. Interesting or unexpected use of music in a movie or television show. I mentioned Smallville yesterday and that reminded me of a pivotal scene where the action was sweet & romantic, but the song they were playing in the background is Gus’s version of “Don’t Fear The Reaper”. It took a cliched scene & made it powerful!

2. Nutella & banana crepes… *drool*

3. JOEBABY!!! (Told you I was gonna repeat this one) My darling who squees and plots and encourages!! *squishes*

4. Princess Princess D (aka Puri Puri D) – Cute SLASHY anime / manga / tv show with yummy boys!

5. Receiving Christmas cards from LJ friends! Thank you, enchanted-jae!! That makes two oldenuf2nb Drarry cards I’ve gotten! WOOT! Who else is sending cards? I want the rest of the set? LOL!

6. Receiving Christmas presents in the mail! Okay, so they’re presents for other people, but still! YAY for mail!

7. Happy accidents. I ordered a present for someone and somehow ended up with two of them. I SO wanted to be benevolent and give the second one to someone else but… I don’t think I can part with it. So, yay for happy accidents and self-indulgences during the holidays!

8. The smell and soft, velvety feel of roses. I need some Christmas roses porn! LOL!

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/14/08…

1. Kitty snores – my fat cat is propped on the couch, dead to the world, & giving this grunty little snore from time to time. It’s adorable.

2. Lazy evenings with hubby – my parents were here this morning & a friend of ours stayed til the afternoon (which was cool), but now it’s just the two of us & the kittehs, reading and relaxing.

3. Picture texts of the new nephew. My sister sends me cute baby pics every few days with sweet or funny sayings.

4. Email spam stories. *squishes*

5. Receiving Christmas cards from LJ friends! micolerose and alaana-fair – I got your cards a few days ago but have been too swamped to mention it. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

6. Finding shoes that fit. I have small feet & picky taste so finding a style that I like in a size that actually fits is a rare treat.

7. Restaurants that let you draw on the tablecloth. My BFF’s rehearsal dinner was at a restaurant that puts butcher paper on the table & has crayons out so the kids can draw & keep themselves occupied. We entertained ourselves for longer than our age should have really permitted. LOL!

8. The word détente. There was an episode of Smallville wherein Lex says to Lionel: “If I find out that you have any agenda that could hurt the Kents, this amiable father-son détente will come to an abrupt end.” Something about the steel in his voice, the splash of French, and the fact that he’s damned hot just made me all shivery!

Okay, it’s really just Eight Days of Happy! LOL!

Stuff I’m happy for on 12/13/08…

1. Two of my very best friends got married today (okay yesterday, Saturday, one of those days) without a hitch and are now off on their honeymoon. It was a beautiful ceremony and I’m so happy for both of them!

2. My parents made it up for the wedding (they don’t get up my way often) and stayed the night. I’m going to have breakfast with them in the morning – yay! I’m excited!

3. I got to spend time with The Group this evening! The Group consists of crazy college friends who are very dear to me. There was much revelry! (Which is good because we normally get together on New Year’s but with the holiday being mid-week, we probably won’t this year.)

4. My nephew, who was born a few weeks ago is doing well, as is my sister. I’ll hopefully get to see him again at Christmas & hold him finally. Briefly. Babies are too breakable thanks! *shivers*

5. I have the best husband EVER who occasionally wears a collar and poses for yaoi-boy (slash-boy) pics for me!! *LUFFS HIM*

6. My Joe-Baby!!! Can I just put this down for every day? Are you allowed to repeat? She has been my sanity and my escape for weeks and weeks and months and months. There isn’t enough money or slash in the world to repay her for all she’s tolerated from me!!

7. My Christmas shopping is almost DONE! WOO!! I really, REALLY want to be done before next weekend so I can stay safely home and far, FAR away from the mall! O_o

8. Future plans. Hubby and I are planning a Mediterranean cruise for our ten year anniversary (in 2010) and even if it never comes to fruition, it has been nice to fantasize about it these past few weeks when RL has been pulling me in about 10,000 different directions!

P.S. I’m going to try to start catching up on my LJ stuff here in the next week or so. (Of course Christmas travel is going to throw me behind again. *grumbles*) But if there is anything in particular you want me to see… please link me so I’m sure to see it! SORRY!!!

In my wanderings I’ve come across various ARG players and PMs, all of who have been friendly and informative. One of those encounters has led TheArkPariah to find me on Twitter. From what I can tell, TAP (because I’m too lazy to spell out the long handle more than once) is a high school student with a flare for code and YouTube videos.

Several classmates met after class and pondered over this code literally for hours to no avail. A couple of them figured out that 222. represented www. and from that inferred that .05t had to be .com or .net, but we couldn’t figure out the pattern. If 2=w, how can 5=c or n?

While allowing our subconscious selves work on the code, we scrolled through some of TAP’s earlier tweets and found a semi-hidden web address.

This led us to a recording at asleepinyourworld.net. The site played the recording, but also had a blue pixel on the left and a red spot on the right of a black screen.

In checking unforum we found that there are at least two threads: [INFO] List of Websites and Contact Info and [NEW]John on Twitter. This tells us two things: One, this game is bigger than just a couple of Twitter messages and two, the community already knows about it and has done some legwork. Yay to both!

So, I’ve followed @thearkpariah, @mrtoasty, and several others that @thearkpariah has followed, tweeted to, or who follow him. Given that Twitter is a broadcast format in 100% pull media fashion, I was skeptical about how well it would work as a rabbit hole. Obviously, it works quite well. I’ve no doubt this is an ARG and @thearkpariah is a character. I’ve yet to determine what the game is called, but will continue to work on it until I can find some answers and confirm that Twitter is, in fact, a great jumping off point.
