I have been posting information on Iran …. I wanted it to be anonymous, just give the information pure. I did not want to cross reference the two sites. Unfortunately, I was accused of Spamming and therefore, I had to only provide links…..back to my site. That was never my intention.

The Iranian people and friends must know what is happening, but not find excuses to not participate.

This site…I love this site. This site helped me through my Chapel Perilous. This album….it resonated through my fight. I have nothing but praise for the authenticity of the work.

But….

I knew people didn’t like my “way of blogging”. Look, I have been working since I was 12 years old. Blogging was never going to be something that I would have time for. Until the events that transpired in my life….so I learned there.

I know I come with my own design. I have always been respected (even when I was annoying the regular bloggers)…..they never made me feel unwelcome.
I never have been challenged either….until yesterday. Of course, those of you who follow me know I wasn’t working yesterday. For fun….I thought I would share this with you:

Kidding…I have a dry sense of humor and love to play with words.

I wasn’t a good student in school. My parents taught me only how to farm and survive off the land. I had no time to sit at a dinner table, learn to put a napkin on my lap, or for god’s sake which fork to use and in what order.

I was confused when Cheerleaders got better grades than I did. I was frustrated when my teachers read a news paper and told me to read a history book.

I read in US Today about a college in the top 10 list. This is the same college Matt Groening (Simpsons) graduated.

In 11th grade I made an appointment with the counselor and explained my catch 22. I said, “I can learn here.” and I was told I was accepted.

I was pretty punk rock. I can remember my two friends Greg & Tommy I played with at recess from K-3rd grade.

I remember in 4th a girl coming up and asking to be friends … ugh.
I remember in 6th the popular girls had a club. So the unpopular girls wanted their club.
I remember standing in the middle of the field….group to my left….group to my right. I said to myself….Heather….You belong to no group.

In my senior year of high school I was put in a Foster Home. I was emancipated, but on one condition. I returned to the farm for 2 weeks and the night I graduated (at 17) I was allowed to move out on my own before the legal age of 18.

I didn’t go to my high school graduation party. I went straight to Evergreen State College.

Well….when I arrived….I was a Christian, Skateboarder, wore make-up and shaved my legs. I was a total outcast. Students couldn’t wait to debate me and I couldn’t wait to proclaim they were sheep.
Thank God I was a Christian. Because as one guy told me at a party, “At least you are not a hypocrite….you drink Dr Pepper and never have sex with anyone.”

My room mates….they all caught a VD. I escaped through college…….there….

now the Prince….
I was introduced to that book and I was the only one who saw it for as it was. Fucking Human Nature.
Hate it all you want….we have not evolved, and he told it like it was.

Also….
The CIA came to campus and wanted to set up booths. OMG…everyone had a meeting and I decided to show up. I listened for hours to the “liberals” discuss taking away free speech on campus. I finally couldn’t take it. I shoved the whole table back with everyone sitting around and I said, “ENOUGH….you have spoken for hours about the atrocities of the CIA, and why they should not be allowed on CAMPUS, but you are condemning the Freedom of Speech, a constitutional right, and if you decide who is allowed to speak, than someday someone else will decide who is allowed to speak, and it will not be you or I. Do not become that which you say you do not represent. Allow them to have their voice, and you come and pass out flyers and talk to people who are attracted to the booth and tell them why you do not think they should be supported, but to ban them, is to only ban ourselves.

People are concerned about the economy, taxes and corruption. The Indepedent took more votes from the Corzine, he is down 5% from earlier exit polls. Numbers are not lining up for John Corzine.

New York 23 will not be called until the morning – area is spread out and many parts will not be reporting the votes.

This political movement might last to the next year’s voting cycle. This could have a direct impact on votes for Health Care Reform. Already the bill will not be passed this week.

Consciously I can not prepare a new site without giving some attention to the updates. I decided I must make time in my day to share the information I am following. Currently, it is the human suffering in Iran. I have completely given up on cable news. I find it like watching a soap opera, and when I turn it on, I think to myself, they are STILL talking about this! Does the plot ever change? Unfortunately, no. What is the news telling me, or telling you? I know what it is doing, it is distracting us from what is important. It is feeding into fear, and it is causing dissention instead of common good. So as important as child abduction is, we do not see the children of all colors and creeds being covered: Natalie Holloway in Aruba, or the beautiful Elizabeth Smart, Haleigh in Florida, Jaceey Lee Dugard in California, Madeline McCann, and the list of blond girls abducted leading the news goes on and on….which thank god they get covered, and with due diligence, but wait ….. there are so many abductions, rapes, murders of many boys and girls ….. don’t you think the news time spent beating a story to death could be spread out to mention and support all the other victims?

So if the news is using image to attract viewership and sell ads, then what does that say about us who watch it? The question begs asking, “Why is the news not leading with the Iranian story?” Is it because we are a Christian nation and they are Muslims? Is it because they are unjustly labeled as terrorists? Is it because we think that they deserve what happens to them? Why? These things happen everywhere, as in The Rwandan Genocide, 1994 mass killing of hundreds of thousands of Rwanda’s Tutsis and Hutu political moderates by Hutus under the Hutu Power ideology. Over the course of class; class=”hiddenSuggestion” pre=”">approximately 100 days, from the assassination of Juvénal Habyarimana on April 6 through mid-July, at least 500,000 people were murdered. Most estimates indicate a death toll between 800,000 and 1,000,000, which could be as high as 20% of the total population.. Why did we not help? Was it because they were black? Seriously? Why do we not demand truth in our information? Why do we watch hours and hours of discussion about Michael Jackson, when any updates could be handled in 30 seconds? Do we really need to contemplate that for months on end? Why are we discussing for hours and hours the rape of innocent children….because of the sex and debauchery, and violence. Everything we say we deplore and yet feed into the consciousness of our brains? Sigh.

The “Islamic Republic News Agency” Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran’s official news agency, announced that, with two-thirds of the votes counted, incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had won the election with 66% of the votes cast, and that Mousavi; Mir-Hossein Mousavi had received 33% of the votes cast.  Union European Union and several western countries expressed concern over alleged irregularities during the vote and some analysts and journalists from the and United Kingdom news media voiced doubts about the authenticity of the results Mousavi issued a statement accusing the Interior Ministry, responsible for conducting the election, of widespread election fraud and urged his supporters to engage in peaceful protests. Khamenei then announced there would be an investigation into vote-rigging claims. On 16 June, the Guardian Council announced it would recount 10% of the votes, admitting that there were irregularities. However, Mousavi stated that a recount would not be sufficient since 14 million unused ballots were missing, giving the Interior Ministry an opportunity to manipulate the results. On June 19, Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei denounced the pro-Mousavi demonstrations as illegal, and protests the next day were met with stiff resistance from government forces, with many reported deaths.

A shockingly awesome animation from Warcraft – a music video to Sky Is Over. My thoughts are any time music combines with motion of animation, and syncs really well, speaks volumes to the artists …. who most likely never even met each other. I have no idea if this had any collaboration, but it is a classic. Both artists stand on their own in having high standards.

I wrote to the creator of this animation video and she responded that the video is purely fan made and has nothing to do with Serj or Warcraft, neither they have any connection. She wrote: 

First of all with my gratitude, thanks for enjoying it, it means so much to me. Secondly Im a girl =P as in credit you can see I’m a member of Girl Gamers Club Vietnam. I simply just like the song and at the same time I also like Warcraft. I don’t make AMV to make the song fit with the scenes, I indeed make the scenes fit with the song. In brief, I liked the song and decided to make an AMV for it, then I started to look for games FMV that can describe my feeling about that song. Warcraft came to my mind, which Sky is Over is a great song about War and Loss (in my own feeling). I made it using Ulead Video Studio 11 and it was made for my friend’s bday (which was last December) and in case you are interested, in the video there is only 1 scene I took from Frozen Throne which I put it in purpose to see who can find it. Most of you are wayyyyyy hipper than I am. I am such a geek that I thought that Chop Suey song came out last summer when I arrived to LA and heard it on KROC, apparently the release was in the beginning of this decade….eye yi yi. In fact, I read that the song was taken off the radio on 9/11, because people were afraid that since the band was all Armenian, that the lyrics could have been misconstrued to be in support of the terrorists, and yet, everyone still says it was a set-up. We really are a confused country.

I discovered this after my break from work and I really loved it, but I didn’t know that this person was Serj and he was with SOAD (System of a Down) and I didn’t know that the music was about being politically active and work towards clean water, and so forth. In fact, I went on the board and was so excited about the album, I couldn’t figure out why nobody was discussing the deep and layered meanings to the songs, until a few weeks went by and I found out, OH, it was released 2 years ago……they are talking about the next project…..and boy, did I feel ….. old? No not old, just really really boring….out of touch, and must have spent way too many hours in my life working ….. with absolutely no balance – but then again, I was never with the trends, I was always by myself, in one way or another.

When I tripped the night fantastic onto the www.serjtankian.com website, I was stunned. It isn’t like those websites where you are catalogued and explained every last position in your detailed life. I had someone send me a website of the Tea Parties, I guess my website generates a “right wing radical conservative republican” feel to it. That has generated quite a bit of controversy and I don’t understand why we can not all discuss topics without being labeled, or argued on our points instead of on our appearances. I think reading the content is a good place to begin before engaging in canned opinions. I wrote back, um…..I hope you are not disappointed, but I’ve never seen this website, and I am not interested in it. I support the Tea Parties and people standing up for the laws of our country, but when I want to relax, I like websites that make me think, and that make me think there is something hidden behind every computer screen. Oh my gosh, I literally spent a couple weeks just on the front page (I mean each day I check on it, not fixated). First, it has to load, and he is looking at you with this graffiti behind him, and smoking…a spirit rebellious. I kept wanting to play my computers narrator because I was sure something was there, but I did, and I don’t think there was. Now the front page, holy cow….it is all in flash, and it took me weeks to see how if I clicked on different things I could see different parts of the picture that were not privies to at first glance. I literally spent two weeks on this. It took me that long just to click to go inside. I also found out to get to the private room, I needed a code. So I had to figure out where to buy the CD “Elect the Dead”. I couldn’t just buy it anywhere, because then I wouldn’t get the code. I found it of course on his site and I purchased it, but it took forever to get to me. Once I received it though, I was really happy with how good the packaging was. I felt like I received value for what I paid for the code and CD’s. Plus you are getting a glimps of some of the pictures on that site.

The whole journey of my arrival to begin a blog and join a board room started when my musician friend’s eyes glazed over and I am drawn to come near him. He shows me this picture on the computer of a dog that I later came to know as Dobbs. In my quest to find out who this spirit friend was and why he was hanging with us, I wanted to know about his life…. which lead me to….. Lynn Strait. I haven’t listened to music in 10 years, I had never heard of SOAD, let alone SNOT. Now, thank god he used my musician friend (who from now on I will give the name of “SAM”) as a conduit for me to speak with him directly the first and last time. I sat in my corner on the computer, and I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to explain to Sam what had happened. Sam says something to me, and I said, “I’m glad you’re back.” He was curious what I meant and I told him, “You left, someone else was here talking to me.” He remembered things before that conversation, and afterwards, but not the exact words that were spoken between Lynn and I. He admitted he had felt Lynn’s presence but I suppose had I not said anything, he had no reason to share that with me. Lynn led Sam and I on a convoluted path….which won’t be easy to explain…..where one hint leads to another and leads to here….type type type…..

Lynn usually liked to appear in the witching hour, and I have been on hiatus from work, so I spent my time off doing research about this soul. Not much information could be gathered in Google searches, and requests for information seemed inappropriate to burden or alarm his family, so out of respect I didn’t contact them.

There was One “friend” I thought I found of Lynn’s that would “get it” but replied in an email how she found message disturbing (and I didn’t even tell her the ghost story!). By that time, with Lynn’s direction, I found Elect the Dead, so I replied that I had found what I was looking for and thanked her for taking the time to respond. I thought it was interesting that someone would be disturbed that I wanted to know what was important in Lynn’s heart, because I felt he was here for a reason, he had something left to do that was important to him.

On the spirit quest to learn about this soul Lynn and what was important to him. Not much was written about him, but from what I could piece together …. he did care about making a difference in the world, he was disappointed in others for causing unnecessary hardship, and he shared a kinship with Serj who I believe gave him purpose to his gift.

Lynn was prophetic and his song Absent sounds as if he already knew his fate and agreed – but I think there was more he wanted to do ….

Now – extend the journey – and the next place in Lynn’s heart is Serj ….. and I see many symbols of Lynn on the www.serjtankian.com  website.

When visiting with Lynn (or more so, Lynn visiting with us), he doesn’t take my friend’s body over for very long….he likes to hang out within him so it’s not like I can sit down and chat. In fact, I am important to the degree that I do what it is he wants me to do with the research, but he doesn’t want to spend his time talking to me. He never knew Sam on Earth, but he likes him, and I can see why. They both have this agro thing going on, and they both love to listen to music.

Sam is not a pretentious person, in fact, you wouldn’t even know he is a musician if you met him. He never shares with others how talented he is, but he can play guitar (and many other instruments), song writer, etc…..but his guitar skills connect on a universal level, a vibration, a heavy sound, that I have only been privileged to hear on occasion. We could be out and meet musicians who are talking about their next deal, song, bla “>bla bla bla, and he never says a word unless it is of well wishes for them. One time he shared a song with someone from a private recording, and this person was a known performer now in his 50’s, and I thought he was going to pass out. All he kept saying is Sam should be doing this and that ….. and Sam just seemed sorry he bothered. He doesn’t need the fan fare to make him feel important, or resolve childhood issues….or money and fame to make him happy. Well, that’s Lynn’s kind of guy, and is why he comes over from time to time in the last few months to hang out, listen to music, watch videos, etc. I watch Sam out of the corner of my eye and he seems to be putting on the computer whatever Lynn wants to watch. Lynn sometimes has Sam repeat an interview with someone who is speaking of him after his death, and listen to the same line over and over again…..gets me a little creeped out. I would have thought we wouldn’t worry about what happened on earth once we died, but I guess if people are pretenders, using your name to promote a friendship that never existed……well…..let’s just say it pisses Lynn off more now.

Since I have never dealt with a spirit before, it took me awhile to catch up to speed. Everything had to be done in house…so I started with each song from his band Snot, which gave me some insight to this spirit who liked to spark debate between my friend and I. Really liked hanging around and feeling earthbound. Sometimes I got the sense he felt ripped off, that he wasn’t ready to go, but maybe that’s how I would feel if I was him. That’s been a thought that has been with me regarding his whole death, a turmoil that I think I wrestle with, because as far as I can tell, Lynn knew and agreed, and left with his best friend together. Whether he did so consciously and freely is unclear.

Lynn really liked when we researched and researched and debated over each song meaning – really loved his dog – had very few friends who knew him and cared – but don’t we all. His energy attracted so many around him – the glare of insincerity must have made his jokes funny but scary if you understood how he was testing you. That’s how it was when he showed me Dobbs…..childlike humor but scared me when he spoke – then again – my first time talking with someone from that realm. Sam told me the night I spoke to Lynn he too had some scary sounds he heard when playing Snot. We knew this was Lynn, not some demon, so we had to figure out what was the interpretation…..so I stayed with it, in my corner and did my homework – while Lynn hung out with Sam.

The first place took me to the meanings behind The Box and Deadfall. I’m not going to talk about Lynn’s personal life. If he wants me to write a book for him and give the proceeds to his family then that will be an appropriate time to discuss those issues. If for some reason, a person close to Lynn reads this and becomes upset, then I apologize for causing any harm. I do not have any intentions, I do not have any goals in the music industry, and I have no personal reason to be doing this except for the fact that this is something that I feel I’m supposed to do. I welcome any discussions privately. I know this is a disturbing story, but I have a feeling that Sam and I are not the only people that Lynn has been with since his passing. The only insight I am willing to share is a concept from the two songs mentioned: because Lynn was so intelligent, he was concerned about the effects electric waves had on him when they were baby-sitting him, and the effects he was generating back.

Under Lynn’s guidance, the song Chop Suey from System of a Down came into my radar. This next part is speculation but there is so many meanings, this topic was shared with one of the Serj Board members posts to me:

Sometimes even the creator of the works do not have an explanation of what they have created. Ive done that before.Not saying this is the case with Serj but it can happen. lol

 It’s so great to see someone creating not only messages of social behavior, modification, representation, prayer and change ….. but I have a strong sense that he is going to be instrumental in a paradigm shift –

Elect the Dead has so many layers to potential meanings (maybe no meaning at all?)

crap – I think it is all rolled up into one -

I guess I would imagine Serg like this …..

dreaming – dreamed something not quite remembered – smoking – thinking of something not quite as important as quitting – drinking – randomly discussing passions – feeling – having a sense of connection – seeing – what is it to see from a stand point of culture – success – and complete insight privied not to most souls -

music – universal connecting -

causes -

business – development -

spiritual beliefs – a unique sense of purpose – a calling – a gathering – frequency -

and then …. just another menial day of waking up, eating, taking a shit

I’m a decade behind on the current interest of the discussion boards – like …. “Why is the song named Chop Suey?”

That question has been rolling with me since the discovery of System of a Down a month back, and I have been formulating it.

 Without divulging why those lines above were important or the process of finding the final definition (which I think there is layered meanings, but I always do….conscious or unconscious of the writers)

According to one very hard to find article -

Chop Suey – is a play on words from the song’s original title “Suicide” to make it “radio friendly”

I shared this with my musician friend who from here forward to protect his identity will call Sam.

Sam said ….. oh I get it …. they put the name on the chopping block and told the band they had to change it

so they chopped the name suicide ….. “Sueycide”

I might of called it Chicken Dumplings ….. because if it was about Lynn before he left for that drive that ended the life of him and his beloved dog Dobbs…..then the food would have meant Chicken DumpLYNNS.

From SOAD to Serg and the discovery of Elect the Dead: as I weaved in and out of study on the music scene I had been absent from…….there’s more, but I will leave with this last thought for now…….

There was also something else that was significant: what was happening to Sam and I with meeting Lynn, had happened to Lynn too. The only difference is that Sam and I had each other to confirm and roll with it, Lynn was alone during these experiences. Not being able to express things have a funny way of coming out from the great burial. We exhibit symptoms of erratic behavior and confusion, signs of alcoholism, or drug abuse, all of which is just being isolated from like minded people who have no common ground for him to connect to. When you see things that are so profound that don’t fit into the “norm” of society, it’s hard not to look at people with disdain and frustration. On the flip side, it’s easy to see a pure heart, and a noble cause.

PS: Dobbs is a mature dog, behaves and happy in a car, in Lynn’s home with a crown on and his head, with the sound of his toe nails tapping the floors when he walks.

 Serj Tankian خواننده سابق صلح دوست و ضد جنگ گروه System of a down که چندی است از این گروه احتمالا جدا شده است، دست به ارائه آلبوم جداگانه ای با نام Elect the Dead تحت نام خودش در سال گذشته زده است که شباهت بسیاری به موسقی گروه مذکور دارد. در میان این آهنگ ها، که تقریبا برای هر دوازده تای آنها ویدئو کلیپ هم ساخته است، آهنگ جالب Beethoven’s cu.nt وجود دارد که به نکته ظریفی اشاره می کند.

از آنجایی که همسر Serj Tankian، قبل از ایجاد گروه system of a down، رهایش می کند و او را مجبور به طلاق می کند، این فقدان دستمایه ای می شود برای بسیاری از شعرهای عاشقانه و یا ضد عاشقانه ای که در این سالها می سراید.

در ابتدا عنوان این آهنگ، فرد را دچار سردرگمی می کند، چرا که در شعر آهنگ نیز اشاره ای به بتهوون و احتمالا آلت تنا.سلی ما.دگی شان نمی کند –قابل توجه اینکه تاریخ نشان داده است که بتهوون مرد بوده است! اما از آنجا که پدرِ خانمش یک آهنگساز¹ بوده است، عنوان آهنگ به صورت “دختر هر.زه یک آهنگساز” درک و ترجمه باید شود. در این آهنگ به مقوله بی وفایی در رابطه عاطفی اشاره شده است و ویدیو کلیپ آهنگ بسیار زیبا، بسیار توضیح دهنده و بسیار جالب است.

در جایی از شعر چنین می آید: “«همیشه بسیار دوستت داشته ام» را همه در پایان راه می گویند؛ و قلب دیگری را می شکنند”. شاید هنوز تمدن بشری در گاهِ آزمایش شدن است.
