This is one of the best cooking tools I have owned. I have owned one for a week now. I have cooked 2 turkeys and 2 chickens in that time. I used an injected marinade and the meat is moist and tender. All were devoured quickly by my family. I use the fryer in my garage with the door cracked about a foot and have no complaints. Clean up is quick and easy.

The electric turkey fryer is a good choice if you don’t want the mess or hazards of using oil for deep frying. For the money it does an okay job of doing nothing more than cooking your turkey and collecting the drippings. All in all, only buy this product if you want to make room in your oven or grill to cook somthing else at the same time. One good thing about this fryer though is the wood chip tray for smoking. It seems to impart good smoke into the meat. Perhaps this fryer will work better as a low temp smoker. Will try that next. So, in short, if you are looking for that deep fried crispiness and look…this won’t give you that.

I was looking for a turkey fryer and purchased this because without oil it would be cheaper and healthier.

When I read the manual, I realized this is not a fryer at all but a glorified roaster. I wrote to the company and inquired before messing it up and yes, it is a roaster. Every recipe in the manual is “roasted”.

According to research funded by EPSRC, a new type of air-fueled battery could offer up to ten times the energy storage of currently available designs

This design would affect a broad ranged of electronic products, most notably laptops and cell phones. In addition, according to the press release, development of this battery could provide a major boost to the renewable energy industry.

An early demonstration model of the STAIR cell, not an electric condom

The expanded capacity is due to a component that uses oxygen, which replaces some of the chemicals currently used in batteries.  Fewer chemicals equals more energy for the same size battery.

The STAIR (St Andrews Air) cell should be cheaper than today’s rechargeables too. The new component is made of porous carbon, which is far less expensive than the lithium cobalt oxide it replaces.

This four-year research project, which reaches its halfway mark in July, builds on the discovery at the university that the carbon component’s interaction with air can be repeated, creating a cycle of charge and discharge. Subsequent work has more than tripled the capacity to store charge in the STAIR cell.

Professor Peter Bruce of the Chemistry Department at the University of St Andrews, reports on the progress of the project: “ Our results so far are very encouraging and have far exceeded our expectations.”,  estimating that it will be at least five years before the STAIR cell is commercially available.

Mazda has announced that it will provide three Mazda2s for conversion to electric vehicles as part of a new test project in collaboration with Itochu Corporation, Tsukuba City and several other companies.

Commencing in March 2010, the Tsukuba Environmental Style Test Project aims to comprehensively assess a low-carbon energy network composed of electric vehicles (EVs), rapid chargers, fixed battery stations, solar panels and a car sharing service.

The main initiatives of the project will be to assess the viability of reusing EV batteries in fixed battery stations, to develop an effective system to use renewable energy in EVs, and to test the viability of a new service to accelerate the establishment of a low-carbon transport society.

Mazda’s role in the Test Project will be to assist in determining optimum vehicle specifications and evaluating vehicle performance.

Through its participation in the Tsukuba Environmental Style Test Project, Mazda aims to further strengthen the base of its future R&D activities, including the i-stop idling stop system, regenerative braking and hybrid systems.

This reflects the brand’s long-term vision for technology development, Sustainable Zoom-Zoom, which was announced in 2007.

I can’t imagine buying these super expensive guitars! But then again, I would probably buy super expensive tech gadgets Hihi. I guess it all depends on what you fancy to collect. The boyfriend’s guitars are sooo beautiful even though I don’t know much about its specs/history. He owns more than 10 guitars I think and it’s growing! He’s planning to buy a Paul Reed Smith guitar or is it an Ibanez (?) I think he would probably buy all of them in the future. Why not right? The Philips Norelco 1050CC Arcitec razor is fantastic. This is the first time I ever enjoyed shaving. Important Background Information before you read the rest of this review: I have used Norelco Electric razors for the past 20 years. I can not & will not use a blade razor as they cut and irritate my skin and I can’t be half asleep using them! I’ve always used Norelco Electric razors because they’ve been fairly comfortable on my skin.

Please note that I shave myself the following way as I refuse to shave dry: Over the sink, I first splash lukewarm to warm water on my face then splash Williams Lectric (preElectric) Shave on my face then splash water once again on my face and then put my electric razor head under the water faucet for a second or two and then shave. That whole process takes just a few seconds & serves to lubricate my skin. I mention this because if you don’t care for the way I shave, you might not get the same results shaving dry.

Specifically, I can not shave dry as it irritates my skin no matter what BS any Electric Razor Company including Norelco says and I get lousy dry shaves! Norelco says you are suppose to shave dry with this razor. I don’t and get great results and that’s all I care about. I’ve used this razor for about 10 months and I haven’t had any problems, whatsoever. If somehow shaving this way eventually wears this razor down faster then it would shaving dry, big deal, I’ll just get another one as I don’t mind paying for comfort!

ANYWAY TO GET TO THE REVIEW YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR: After I fully charged the Philips Norelco 1050CC Arcitec Razor the first time, I was initially very skeptical & puzzled as I did not see any controls to adjust the razor for sensitive or normal skin. The fact is there aren’t any which seems nuts. However, when I shaved I was in ecstasy as it was the fastest and most comfortable shave I’ve ever had. It felt like I was using a paint brush to go up & down- it was that smooth. I don’t have the foggiest idea how or why it was this comfortably smooth & fast. The shave was pretty close too- not 100% perfect but as good as I’ve ever gotten with an electric razor including under my chin and on my neckline.

I’m not going to lie to you though, I’ve always had problems shaving under my chin and on my neckline, and while I can shave more hairs off this area then ever before with the Norelco Arcitec 1050cc and its non-irritating, there are still hairs I can’t get off. I don’t know if there is an electric razor in existence that can shave all the hair off this area without irritating your skin! So right now I’m saying if you want the fastest and most comfortable shave you ever had with decent results, get this razor or a razor in the Norelco Arcitec series.

Apparently from what I can gather, all the razors in this series are basically the same with different non-shaving features (i.e., color scheme, extra leds, razor cleaner, etc). This razor comes with an automatic cleaning system which is incredibly easy, works great and I use daily. You just put in the specific Norelco solution which will last 2-3 weeks & easily rest your Razor on the Jet Cleaner, push on the button & your razor is cleaned each day. It’s almost fun to watch. I salute you, Norelco.
