I think I saw Gustav Klimt references in an anime that I’ve watched called Elfen Lied.

Which, by the way, is one of the craziest anime series I have ever watched. Setting aside all the awesome gore, the awesome Gustav Klimt inspired intro gets me so excited. I feel bad for all the people who don’t know the connection.

Szokásom szerint megnéztem, van-e már Soul Eater 2. kötet, amikor rábukkantam az Elfen Liedre, aminek az ára azóta se ment le: kemény 4069 Ft. Nem mondom, régen szerettem ezt a sorozatot (a 13 évesnek minden király, ami véres… lulz?), de ki a fene adna ki ennyit a mangáért? Hiszen tudjuk, hogy az anatómiával nem teljesen volt tisztában az első valahány kötetben Okamoto Lynn… nem nézett ki rosszul, de láttam sokkal szebb mangát is, akárcsak a Soul Eater esetében.
Tehát mi az oka ennek az árnak? Trillianéktől vették el? Mert náluk kapni ennyiért, ami elég durva, tekintve a Bookline árajánlatait: 850 Ft-től az 1500 Ft-ig bezárólag adják ált. a mangákat.
Keményborítós? Nem hinném. Frissen, melegében lett kiadva? Az előfordulhat, de még mindig nem tisztázott az ok… ha valaki tudja, szóljon, mert most teljesen tudatlan maradtam…

SINOPSIS

La historia comienza con una joven, llamada Lucy, escapando de unas instalaciones de investigación en una isla cercana a la costa de Kamakura en la prefectura de Kanagawa de Japón. Desarmada y desnuda, a excepción de un casco integral de metal que le cubre la cabeza y oculta sus rasgos, Lucy consigue salir del recinto tras desmembrar y asesinar a varios guardias y empleados utilizando, aparentemente, una especie de poderes sobrenaturales. Momentos antes de escapar, un francotirador le dispara a la cabeza con un rifle antitanque del calibre 50, partiendo el casco, provocándole una herida leve y descubriendo dos protuberancias óseas, como pequeños cuernos, saliendo de su cabeza; tras esto, Lucy se despeña inconsciente por un acantilado y cae al mar.

Lucy no es un ser humano normal, sino una diclonius, una mutación humana con dos pequeños cuernos en su cabeza parecidos a las orejas de un gato. Los diclonius tienen una percepción extrasensorial que les permite sentir la presencia de otros diclonius. También parecen tener poderes telequinéticos, aunque en realidad se trate de sus vectores, largos brazos invisibles capaces de vibrar a una frecuencia tal que llegan a cortar materiales muy duros como el metal o la piedra. Los diclonius pueden reproducirse de la forma convencional o infectando a un humano al insertar dichos vectores en su cuerpo. Los futuros hijos de esa persona serán diclonius, de una variante llamada silpelit; a diferencia de los diclonius normales, los silpelits crecen el doble de rápido que los humanos y son estériles en el sentido convencional, pudiendo reproducirse sólo a través de sus vectores.

Un mystérieux virus est apparu et a entraîné la naissance d’enfants mutants, appelés diclonius car ils ont des cornes sur la tête. Dotés de pouvoirs psychiques très développés, ils sont gardés au secret dans un laboratoire où des scientifiques étudient l’étendue de leurs pouvoirs et leur incroyable résistance à la torture.

Elfen Lied est un animé peu commun, ne serait-ce que pour son premier épisode, qui démarre très fort. Difficilement classable, il ne pourra pas vous laisser indifférent.

Comme je l’ai dit juste avant, le 1er épisode rentre de plein pied dans le vif du sujet. Adieu les intros longues et pas très passionnantes. On plonge directement dans l’univers gore d’Elfen Lied, avec un gros massacre dans les règles de l’art. Bien sur, on a peur que le reste de la série suive le même chemin où le sang prime sur le scénario. Perdu. La série parvient très vite à trouver un bon équilibre entre combats gores et histoire travaillée.

On suit très vite les aventures de Kota, héros perturbé, et Lucy/Nyu, “héroine” moitié-guerrière, moitié-enfant, avec un certain plaisir. Les relations entre les persos sont fouillées et constituent l’un des points forts de la série. Chacun d’eux ayant un passé plutot mouvementé (dont Mayu qui est la plus triste de tous) et apportant un élément tragique au scénario. Que ce soit clair, Elfen Lied est loin d’être joyeux et comique et certains passages vous mettront mal à l’aise, grace à la justesse des antagonistes.

Mais si l’animé est aussi bon, la musique et le graphisme n’y sont pas étrangers. Pour la musique, dès l’opening, le ton est donné: tout simplement magnifique, tant sur le plan de la mélodie que sur l’esthétisme (véritable oeuvre d’art). Chaque thème est employé avec justesse et accentue l’émotion, qui est palpable.

Pourtant, tout n’est pas parfait. Je pense notamment à certains points de l’histoire qui sont laissés de coté. Des explications finissent par manquer, surtout concernant Lucy, qui est quand même le perso principal. A la fin du 13ème et dernier épisode, on a un sentiment d’inachevé. A vrai dire, la fin ne ressemble pas vraiment à une fin mais plutot à une ouverture pour une éventuelle suite. Un peu frustré pour le coup.

Au final, je conseille cet animé, sauf à un public trop jeune. Elfen Lied vous touchera directement par la dureté des sentiments, accentuée par une musique émouvante. Je pense que le coté gore ne doit pas vous rebuter, car j’ai trouvé que c’était plutot un élément secondaire. Pour avoir une fin, lisez le manga qui apporte plus de réponse.

Et en prime, l’opening, vraiment magnifique:

A lot of times, people think back to the “good old days” of any medium (film, TV, music, anime), and only remember the good stuff. They tend to forget about the huge mountain of shit that got produced every year. That’s why they can get tricked into thinking that the current stuff is terrible, but in the past “EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING ZOMG!!!1!!1!”

Anime is not free from this. While it does seem that, with the onslaught of moe shit, never-ending shows like Naruto, Bleach, and Inuyasha still on the airwaves, and the fact that studio Gonzo still exists, anime is on the decline. However, that isn’t the case at all. Anime companies in Japan have continuously produced giant, steaming turds every single year, just like Hollywood.

One of those turds is a series called Planetes, which, like so many shows, started out as a good idea but was spontaneously aborted by really shitty writing, and what was left was such a bloody mess that nothing of worth could be salvaged.

Planetes, while technically a very well made show (nice animation and great music), had such a disappointing story (notably the ending), that it completely prevented me from enjoying it.  I was actually able to sit through to the end, but that was a punishment in itself. Fortunately, I’m a masochist. Once I had managed to drag myself to the completion of the series, I could see why it did not perform well in ratings or DVD sales.

As I mentioned before, the biggest problem with this show is the horrible writing. The depiction of space was excellent and, for the most part, realistic, but the characters were so fucking annoying that it totally killed my interest. Plus, it deals with topics too heavy-handedly to be enjoyable in any way. If I wanted to watch failed relationships, death from cancer, terrorists, and people acting like assholes to one another, well, I already have real life. I don’t need to see it all again in anime form. Anime should really only be about one thing: tentacle rape. And there is no tentacle rape to be found in Planetes. Instead, it’s just a bunch of whiney teenage melodrama that would fit right in on MTV or the CW.

Hachimaki, the protagonist, is the one that annoyed me the most. He’s brash, an oaf, arrogant, self-centered, and all around a huge douchebag. The show could have been great if it had centered on ANY other character: Tanabe, Fee, Yuri, even Hakim would have been better. But instead they picked the least likable and least interesting one.

What I can’t understand are his motivations. He spent his whole life resenting/hating his father for always being away in space and never being there for him and his mother. And then, what does he do? He leaves his girlfriend, family, and friends behind so he can go on a selfish mission for 7 years. What? The? Fuck? He bitches and moans about being alone, but he’s constantly surrounded by people that love him and reassure him. He acts like a complete asswipe to Tanabe who, for some inexplicable reason, loves him regardless. It probably has something to do with how all women* love “bad boys,” and secretly want to be treated like shit.

In the end, after he get the girl and starts a family, he still goes away on the Jupiter mission. After all the emotional shit he went through, it turns out he learned nothing and still considers his own happiness and goals above everything else. Yeah that’s right, there was no character growth whatsoever. After 26 boring, annoying, so bad it’s suicide-inducing episodes, there was no payoff. What was the point of all that anyway? I can’t believe that Tanabe would actually be willing to wait for him for SEVEN FUCKING YEARS with their unborn child (whom he won’t see for first 7 years of its life) almost immediately after their marriage. Way to be there for your family, buddy.

Overall, the writing was just sloppy and lazy. The show began well, stalled a little during the early episodes, picked up steam around the middle, and then just fell apart in the end. Did we really need 10 episodes about Hachimaki doubting himself and acting like a brat to everyone? He’s a bigger whiner than Shinji from Evangelion. At least Shinji kicked some ass once in a while, but Hachimaki doesn’t ever do anything but mope around.

I get the sense that the writers had enough of a story for around 16 episodes or so, but needlessly stretched it out to 26 instead of cutting it down to 13. The fuckos at Anime News Network said: “Planetes is far and away the year’s best sci-fi series [of 2005].” Well, that would be true if they didn’t watch any other sci-fi series in 2005. However, in a year that also produced (at least in terms of U.S. DVD releases) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Fullmetal Alchemist, Elfen Lied, Scrapped Princess, and Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, there is no fucking way in hell that Planetes is the best sci-fi series of 2005. If by best they actually meant worst, then yeah, it’s the best.

If you want to watch an anime that has good production values, but does not have an interesting protagonist, has no character growth, and has a rage-aneurysm-inducing story, then check out Planetes. You are guaranteed to be disappointed.

Episode 1: “A Chance Encounter ~ Begegnung” (Meeting)
Wherein a naked girl floats around killing tons of people, and then loses her memory.

The number one complaint I’ve heard about Elfen Lied over the years is that it’s over the top. And it is. But the decision really rests with each viewer to decide if it’s too much. (Though it probably is.) This episode is somewhat legendary in the land of anime and animation, which contributes to it’s 5/5 — I leaned towards 4/5 but felt the need to give credit where credit is due, and even if you’re not a fan of this one, I think the first episode still speaks for itself. So yeah, the first seven minutes are the central character, Lucy, who’s obviously not altogether human, escaping from a maximum security facility, which involves her floating around and making all the guards’ limbs ‘n bits play helter skelter around the room. Apparently it doesn’t matter where you get cut, etc.; regardless, blood will EXPLODE out of you, as if you were throwing it out of paint buckets. There is a decent amount of awesome factor here though, as something seemingly invincible goes on a rampage shredding people to chittlins, and that something is a hot, naked girl. It seems reminiscent of bikini babes with assault rifles: the calendar. Regardless, as Lucy escapes, she gets sniped in the back of the head, which blows off her interestingly designed shark-face lookin’ mask, and sends her plummeting into the sea below. She washes up on shore without her memory, and is discovered by a couple cousins who take her to the boy’s home (obviously girl cousin did not think this through, or just didn’t want to deal with the trouble herself), where they clothe her and feed her. She talks like a cat, which is adorable but very strange. And she seems now incapable of functioning in almost any basic way. So she went from unstoppable killing machine to 2 year old. The episode ends on a misunderstanding with the king of all sadists (in merc form) coming to kill the now defunct Lucy. And we’re off to the races!
(Oh, and the title translates to “Elf Song” or “Elfen Song”; I incidentally speak German.)

Elfen Lied OVA – Como una lluvia pasajera

“Lucy tötet jeden Menschen, der in ihre Nähe kommt, sofort. Sie ist eine Mutantin mit abnormalen Fähigkeiten, die in einem Forschungslabor unter strengsten Sicherheitsvorkehrungen festgehalten wird.Dennoch gelingt es ihr eines Tages, zu fliehen. Wenig später findet der Student Kota und seine Kusine am Strand ein hilfloses Mädchen. Da es sein Gedächtnis verloren zu haben scheint, nehmen die zwei sich einander an … Ist es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis Lucy ihnen ihr mörderisches Gesicht zeigt?”

Diesen 432 dicken Manga (alleine der erst Band!) kann ich Anime-Fans jeder Sorte nur empfehlen! Der Manga fällt in das Mystery Gerne und ist mit 14€/Band auch nicht der günstigste. Anmerkung zum Schluss: Die Serie ist 18+ Wenn ihr ihn lest, wisst ihr auch warum.

Szczerze powiem, że jak zaczynałem pisać tę notatkę, to nie wiedziałem jak ją nazwać. Znaczy się pewne pomysły miałem, ale nie mogłem zdecydować się który z nich będzie najlepszy – oprócz tego który widnieje jako ostateczny tytuł myślałem jeszcze nad Anime na bazie Visual Novel. Zwykła adaptacja, czy coś więcej? oraz Oyashiro-sama’s Curse.

No dobra, pomijając rozterki nad tytułem dla notki, napiszę o czym w ogóle będzie ten wpis. Tytuł tej recenzji (mocne słowo) jest bezczelnym tłumaczeniem tytułu tego anime. Mowa oczywiście o Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai oraz Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei.

W tej recenzji postaram się jak najściślej trzymać się zasady ‘zero spoilerów’. Będzie trudno – ale jak to mówili prelegenci od Visual Novel (i hentai’ów) na Polconie 2009: ‘za spoilery przy tym anime powinni wieszać‘. Po obejrzeniu całości w pełni zgadzam się z tą opinią. Tak jak napomknąłem w drugim akapicie – będzie mowa w tej recenzji o wszystkim trzech seriach anime (bo jest oczywiście manga oraz filmy live-action).

Anime powstało na bazie visual novels (chociaż na wiki (link) podane jest iż gry należą do gatunku sound novels), które zostały wydane w ilości 8 sztuk. Pierwsze cztery zawierają w sobie to co działo się w pierwszej serii anime (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). Ostatnie cztery opisują wydarzenia z drugiej serii (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai). Serie mają odpowiednio 26 oraz 24 odcinki, więc jest co oglądać. Na końcu, ostatnia seria, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei składa się zaledwie z 5 odcinków wydanych jako OVA – i to wydanych całkiem niedawno (ostatni, 5 odcinek można było kupić w Japonii na DVD w sierpniu, zaś na Blu-ray jakoś teraz we wrześniu). I to tyle, jeśli chodzi o genezę.

Teraz przydałoby się opisać miejsce wydarzeń oraz czas. Zatem akcja ma miejsce w wiosce Hinamizawa (około 2000 mieszkańców, istotna informacja), w której na polach grają biernie przyglądające się wszystkiemu cykady… Czas akcji – tu jest różnice, ale najwięcej czasu spędzają w czerwcu w 1983. To co widzi widz na początku pierwszej serii, to historia ‘oczyma’ dopiero co zamieszkałego w wiosce nastoletniego Keichi’ego Maebara. Więcej nie jest potrzebne jeśli chodzi o fabułę – dalej to szłyby już spoilery. Serio.

Co rzuca się na początku podczas oglądania tego anime – akcja podzielona jest na autonomiczne rozdziały. Bohaterowie są ci sami, miejsce też, czas w większości przypadków także; zdarzenia – zgoła inne, widziane ‘oczyma’ różnych postaci. Czasami może wydawać się, że historia jest identyczna z którąś z wcześniej opowiedzianych, ale mimo wszystko na końcu okazuje się, że autorzy bardzo umiejętnie pokazali to co było wcześniej wraz z nowymi elementami.

A teraz jak najbardziej własne spostrzeżenia. Gdy ogląda się kolejne części w danym rozdziale to można odnieść wrażenie jakby ktoś zaciskał pętlę dookoła szyi. Praktycznie przez cały czas widz czuje się zaszczuty podczas oglądania kolejnych historii. Cały czas myśli sobie – ‘będzie dobrze, wszystko skończy się dobrze’. Po czym dostaje prosto w twarz ‘nowymi faktami’ (zwroty akcji, nowe wątki, przemilczane wcześniej elementy), które ścierają na proch jego marne życzenia. Cały czas jest się też świadom niezmienności przeznaczenia. Autorzy postąpili tu w podobny sposób, co twórcy japońskiego oryginału Klątwy, czyli na początku danego rozdziału pokazany jest jego koniec (w Klątwie na początku każdego epizodu podane było imię i nazwisko osoby która ma zginąć). Zatem widz wie jak to się skończy, ale jednak cały czas wierzy w to, że to tylko wizualizacja najgorszego z możliwych scenariuszy w opowiadanej historii. Takie rozwiązanie miało miejsce w Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (pierwszej serii), w kolejnych sezonach nie było takich kontrolowanych ‘wycieków fabuły’. Oczywiście zostało to wyjaśnione w ramach fabuły.

Aby to wszystko trzymało się przysłowiowej ‘kupy’, historie muszą dokładnie do siebie pasować. I tak jest w rzeczywistości. Autorzy gier stworzyli naprawdę genialny świat, z którego można czerpać całymi garściami – i do tego wszystko ze sobą pasuje. Rzadkość. Scenarzyści konsekwentnie tworzyli kolejne historie tak, by pozostawały one zgodne wcześniej zakreślonymi ramami świata. Tego trzymali się bezwzględnie… No, ale oprócz samego świata potrzebna jest też umiejętność opowiedzenia widzowi fabuły.

Przy tej produkcji zaprezentowany storytelling po prostu nadaje się do książek jako przykład do naśladowania – tak powinno być zawsze i wszędzie (ciekawe czy na uczelni będą starali się wpoić mi taką wiedzę). Sama historia jest opowiedziana tak, że daje widzowi wystarczającą ilość wiadomości o świecie na daną chwilę. Oczywiście, oglądając to anime zadawałem sobie wiele pytań odnośnie tego co się działo na ekranie, co tylko zwiększało apetyt na kolejne odcinki. Zatem osoba pochłaniająca to anime cieszy się z tego co wie, zaczyna rozumieć tok rozumowania i motywacje bohaterów do podejmowania konkretnych działań. Cudowne uczucie – ogarniać wszystko. Ale wystarczy zaledwie jedno zdanie, ba! Jedno słowo by wszystko legło w gruzach. Niektóre elementy akcji powtarzane są kilkukrotnie, a jednak nie odczuwa się znużenia, wręcz przeciwnie – ogląda się je i chce się jeszcze więcej by poznać prawdziwe motywy działania bohaterów, by zobaczyć co działo się za główną sceną wydarzeń oraz by przekonać się czy to co zobaczyło się jest prawdą (ładna retoryczna trójka mi wyszła).

Z pewną trudnością przychodzą mi te słowa, ale taką formę prowadzenia akcji/fabuły/narracji nie widziałem jeszcze w żadnym anime. A można powiedzieć, że już trochę widziałem (ale tylko trochę).

Co do samych bohaterów. Nie są to same bezmózgie bubki jak ma to miejsce np. w emitowanym teraz Princess Lover. Nie wychodzą może całkowicie poza standardowe typu postaci, ale jednak ich zachowanie, ich przemyślenia – szybko zaczyna się ich lubić (chociaż ja nadal nie trawię Satoko-chan). I wtedy dochodzi do sceny, gdy ulubionym postaciom dzieje się krzywda – najgorzej było w rozdziale o Shion (pierwszy sezon). Od tego można było nabawić się głębokiej depresji. W zależności od tego która postać jest wiodąca w danej historii, widz zapoznaje się z jej przemyśleniami, tokiem rozumowania i postrzeganiem świata – co w niektórych przypadkach może doprowadzić do paranoi. Tego typu podejście do psychologi postaci kojarzę (na poczekaniu) jedynie z pierwszym zakończeniem (z serii tv) Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Mówiąc dalej o postaciach i fabule. Wcześniej, przy omówieniu Basquash!, nieco żartobliwie pisałem o wzruszaniu się. Generalnie wychodzę z założenia, że w anime raczej niewiele może mnie poruszyć (tak na szybko np. łzy Asuki na końcu End of Evangelion, dramatyczne decyzje Hayase w Kimi Ga Nozomu no Eien czy też wyznanie w ostatnim odcinku Elfen Lied). W przypadku tego tytułu było kilka takich scen, które jednak mnie ruszyły. Najbardziej dostałem w kość w ostatnim rozdziale drugiego sezonu – na tym etapie wie się już bardzo dużo o historii wioski oraz o tym co się w niej dzieje. Patrząc na rozpacz jednej postaci w człowieku coś pęka, od razu dół, gorzej się widzi – to naprawdę trzeba zobaczyć samemu. Piękne i bez banałów…

No i by zakończyć rozważania o tym co najważniejsze wspomnę o genialnej rzeczy. Zarówno pierwszy sezon jak i drugi sezon miał po prostu powalające zakończenia. Nie, nie chodzi mi tu teraz o fabułę – piszę o zakończeniach, czyli ostatnich sekundach ostatniego odcinka danego sezonu. W przypadku Higurashi no Naku Koro ni mam na myśli ostatnie zdanie w rozmowie w samochodzie Oishiego. Zaś w Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai ostatnia scena (po napisach końcowych), która miażdży wszystko i wszystkich (‘Not telling you. Because I’m a meanie‘).

To by było na tyle, jeśli chodzi o odczucia po obejrzeniu tego co miała do zaoferowania wioska Hinamizawa. Spotkałem się z opinią, że trzeci sezon (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei) jest fillerem, i tak naprawdę można spokojnie zaprzestać oglądanie na drugim. Nie mogę się z tym zgodzić. O ile dwa na pięć odcinków jest luźniejszych, tak w pozostałych trzech dzieje się – i to dużo. Pomijając same zdarzenia jest tam jedna scena, która tępym śrubokrętem wyskrobuje się na mózgu. Chodzi o rozmowę Rika-chan z Satoko w szkole. ‘Rozmowę’. Przerażająca i tworząca traumę scena, bo odbiera widzowi ostatnią pewną ostoję spokoju w świecie Higurashi. Faktem jest za to to, że już od początku widać pewną zmianę – przy tytule wstęga w tle ma kolor niebieski, a nie jak dotychczas czerwony.

Jeśli chodzi o aspekty techniczne (grafikę) to w przypadku tego anime jest różnie. Pierwszy sezon, pomimo podejmowanej tematyki (i brutalności), wyróżnia się bardzo pastelowymi kolorami. Wiem, że niektórzy uznają to za wadę. Mnie tam było obojętne – chyba już nie zwracam aż takiej uwagi na tzw ‘kreskę’. W drugiej i trzeciej serii kolory zostały stonowane, wkradło się na ekran więcej szarości i zamierzonych artefaktów.

No i teraz jedna z najlepszych rzeczy związanych z tym tytułem (jako ogół) – muzyka. W sumie czego innego można by się spodziewać po panu Kenji Kawaii. Poniżej znajdują się openingi do kolejnych serii. Pierwszy jest genialny, zarówno ze strony wizualnej jak i jeśli chodzi o muzykę. Op do drugiej… jest dołujący, przynajmniej ja miałem takie odczucia po kilkukrotnym odsłuchaniu. Trzeci sezon, nieco za krótka bym się przyzwyczaił do tej muzyki – jak już pisałem, im dłużej słucham tym bardziej mi się coś podoba.

W przypadku openingów ma miejsce ciekawa rzecz – są one naszpikowane całkiem sporą ilością spoilerów. Problem w tym że aby to zobaczyć, trzeba obejrzeć daną serię w całości co jest uczciwym podejściem.

W tej recenzji screenów nie będzie. Na początku chciałem pokazać co fajniejsze momenty, ale zdawałem sobie sprawę z tego że screen mogą bardzo łatwo zespoilerować niektóre rzeczy. Więc po rozważeniu ‘za’ i ‘przeciw’ wyszło że nie będzie screenów i już!

Na zakończenie…

Seria naprawdę warta obejrzenia, graficznie może nie powala w porównaniu do najnowszych produkcji w hd (itp), może też nie spodobać się tym, którzy są niecierpliwi – ze względu na powtarzalność elementów. Ale warto zobaczyć, by poznać naprawdę dobrą historię bez banałów, jak to teraz wrzucają na potęgę autorzy.

Z dużą dozą prawdopodobieństwa Higurashi no Naku Koro ni spodoba się tym, którzy w anime szukają niebanalnej fabuły, którzy potrafią napawać się nagłym i nieoczekiwanym rozwojem zdarzeń oraz są w stanie nieco poczekać na spotęgowanie intensywności doznań dostarczanych przez ’spokojny’ rozwój sytuacji na ekranie. Nie można też zapomnieć o genialnej formie opowiedzianej historii – po prostu imho mistrzostwo świata.

Mógłbym też polecić tę serie (jako całość, trzy sezony) tym, którzy na co dzień nie oglądają anime. Po to by poznali coś dobrego i by przekonali się, że anime to nie tylko chińskie zboczone bajeczki czy też wilkookie stworki, które musisz wyłapać co do jednego.

Zapewne nikt się nie spodziewał tak wiele od adaptacji sound novelek, nie?

Oby tylko widzowie zainteresowani jedynie w goliźnie i wielkości piersi bohaterek, tu dzież w bizonach nie spowodowali, że tego typu serie odejdą w zapomnienie lub przeminą niezauważone.

A mnie teraz nie pozostaje nic innego, jak tylko zacząć oglądać Umineko no Naku Koro ni.

P.S. Do tej recenzji zabierałem się od dobrego miesiąca, najpierw po obejrzeniu pierwszej serii chciałem coś napisać, ale wtedy pomyślałem że trzeba zobaczyć kontynuację. Jak zobaczyłem drugi sezon to miałem podobne odczucia względem trzeciego. Zatem mogłem napisać recenzję dopiero po obejrzeniu całości, bym nie żałował później że coś pominąłem.

Sinopse

Diclonius são uma espécie de humanos mutantes, que dizem, são os escolhidos de Deus. Dieses Wochenende gibt´s den Shopping-Eintrag (vermutlich) in zwei Teilen. Weil ich nämlich heute schon eingekauft habe und nicht weiß ob morgen noch was kommt.

Zuerst mal ist heute Miyuki bei mir angekommen (siehe den letzten Shopping-Eintrag). Und ich hatte recht, es ist die Figur auf dem Bild. Daher gibt´s jetzt nicht noch ein Foto. Vielleicht dann zusammen mit Yuki, wenn die endlich kommt. Außerdem ist School Rumble 18 jetzt da.

Neu gekauft habe ich neben einem Lugia-Handyanhänger (^_^) folgendes:

He is my Master Volume 4 – Ich hatte schon Angst, dass ich Band 4 nicht mehr bekomme, da er bei Amazon eigenlich ausverkauft war. Aber jetzt war plötzlich wieder einer auf Lager und ich habe sofort zugeschlagen. Schade, dass es den Manga nicht auf Deutsch gibt.

Elfen Lied Band 4 und 5 – Endlich bin ich dann zumindest bei Elfen Lied auf dem aktuellen Stand. Ich habe beide nagelneu und noch in Folie zusammen für 22 Euro gekauft, was ja immerhin 6 Euro Ersparnis sind.

Tja, und dann habe ich mal wieder im Internet herumgestöbert und bin mal wieder auf Lugia.us gelandet. Das hat mich daran erinnert, das ich schon immer ein Plüsch-Lugia wollte. Hab auch eins gefunden, was ich aber aus Japan importieren müsste:

Elfen Lied – Lucy

I don’t know if this is a screen shot or if someone made it, but it’s the only decent picture of child Lucy I could find on Google. Actually, I found this on Konachan.com. It has awesome wallpapers of pretty much any character, but it also has a lot of porn apparently. I picked Child-Lucy because let’s face it. A psychotic child that kills people around her violently with invisible arms? That’s just awesome. And if you want to look in depth, then I guess you could look at how deep of a character Lucy is.

• She developed ill feelings toward humans after all of the trama that seemed to befall her in her life.
• This then developed into a split personality disorder when she was shot in the head (helmet).
• Even after this, her “evil” side develops from an evil person to a good person, leaving Nyu (her good side) behind.

That’s a very very basic view of her depth, but I’m trying to make these reviews quick, because who the fuck likes reading? The manga is better if you want depth. The end of the manga (SPOILER) is probably the only logical solution (albeit a bit messy), but is also kind of sad.

Ergo Proxy – Re-L Mayer

Ergo Proxy was one of the best shows that I’ve seen. I felt like the whole atmosphere of the show made me feel like I was going through the same things that the characters were. Also, it reminded me strongly of The Matrix, one of my top ten favorite movies. Re-l is awesome because, well, first, her name is cool (both looking and sounding), and second (and more importantly), she is a girl who is dark, cold, but also just a normal girl, who gets scared at monsters that break into her house (literally, break) after a shower. I mean, just a normal girl. She’s got the swagger, she’s got the appearance (literally one of the coolest character designs I’ve seen, even though it’s pretty simple), and she’s got feelings. She matches the show perfectly. Of course, there’s more to Re-l than meets the eye, and I’m not going to go into details…..ERGO PROXY IS AWESOME. I WISH THEY MADE MORE SEASONS!

There is some bullshit Greek mythology, but I just ignore that.

Excel Saga – Nabeshin (aka Shinichi Watanabe)

This one should have been a no brainer for people. I mean, Nabeshin is easily the best part of this show (a show that I enjoyed because of it’s random/retarded humor and long sentences that were spoken very quickly by characters such as Excel and that never really had any point but were spoken in that way nontheless that kind of reminded me of Ace Ventura when he takes a deep breath to explain something very long and then eventually runs out of breath right when he’s done talking.).

Nabeshin is just a fucking awesome character. The picture (which I found on Google) does a good job at explaining a bit of my reasoning. He might be one of the top ten best characters ever (or maybe not, but he kicks ass).
