During a conversation with Detroit’s WYCD last summer, Eli said they felt the song told their story–about being a band for the last dozen or so years and “playing every show we could.” And never mind that they didn’t write it themselves. “When a great song comes your way, you don’t ignore it.”

I’ll be heading to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut to enjoy a night full of music.  I can’t think of a better way to describe Kenny Chesney than simply awesome.  I’d say it’s impossible to go to one of his shows and NOT have the time of your life.  I know I’m not the only one who thoroughly enjoys the country music megastar.  Check out this fan site and you’ll understand why I’m so excited for Friday night!

Love & Theft’s “Runnin’ out of Air” holds steady at #2 while Eli Young Band’s “Say Goodnight” climbs up 2 to #3, which is where they were a few weeks ago. ”Tornado” by Little Big Town and “Every Storm (Runs out of Rain)” by Gary Allan each slide down one place to #4 and #5 respecitively.  For Gary, it’s the last week on the chart for his former #1.

There are four songs this week that tied as the Greatest Gainer as each of the following songs gained 12 Total Points over last week’s total:
“Don’t Rush” by Kelly Clarkson featuring Vince Gill
“Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip Moore
“Changed” by Rascal Flatts

This week’s Highest Climber is “Bruises” by Train featuring Ashley Monroe as the song jumped 15 places from #72 to #57 thanks mostly to their win in last week’s Level 0 Poll during the Level Points Voting.

For Levels 1 through 10, we had only 4 songs qualify for this portion of the voting, so only 1 song from Levels 1 through 10 is going to be declared inactive this week.  We will have 2 two-song matchups in Round 1 where you vote for one song.  The song with the most votes in each matchup is kept while the other song moves onto Round 2.  In Round 2, there will be two songs and only gets kept.

Lauderdale Beach will be taken over by the wonderful music of artists such as Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Michael Franti & Speahead… and so very many others that you’ll just have to look at the photo above to get an idea.  And more artists are still joining in!  All for an awesome cause – to help save out oceans!

The Tortuga Music Festival, brought to you by Rock The Ocean and benefiting the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, is a weekend long music festival to help out our oceans, presented by Landshark Lager.
