I don’t think it’s possible for a human being to be more likeable than Ellen DeGeneres. This speech is both funny and inspiring.

I love me a good commencement speech: and a while back, pageslap blogged the transcript of another really good one: comic & writer Patton Oswalt’s address to his own alma mater. Funny, profound, inspiring, and well worth a read.

Once again, it takes a comedian to point out the absurdity of the Republican stance against gay marriage, something no journalist appears willing to take on. In presumably an attempt to appeal to the young vote, Republican presidential nominee John McCain appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Ellen wasted no time talking about the “elephant in the room.” See it here.
