A telling profile provides the expertise, talent and temperament of a person. It is like a beautiful

A telling profile provides the expertise, talent and temperament of a person. It is like a beautiful painted portrait, it shows the layers of information about the topic and your readers a strong sense of her as a person.

A telling profile you can do at least three things, communication for your hospital:

1. Remind your community that despite all the high-tech equipment and the steely-eyed surgeon, you will be a place of healing
2. Carry your> Hospital 's valuable know-how
3. Develop a connection that has the stock, sometimes called a marker.

The most important aspect of an eloquent profile is the content. Here are eight tips for all the right elements for your profile:

Tip 1: How to start each writing for the public, you, given your target audience. Are they doctors, physicians or others with a technical interest in the field of your topic? Be especially sure that you have the information properly.
Are theyPatients or family members? If so, you may want a sidebar for highly technical material to be used. Here is a good example, when you need one, technical sidebar material from The Journal of Knee Surgery: Clinical and functional results of knee reconstructive procedures were correlated with the accuracy of the implant and limb alignment and the quality of soft-tissue balancing. "

Tip 2: Describe what brings the issue into the clinic. A director of development will celebrate their 20thanniversary, for example, will have raised a specific amount of money for the hospital, and she will also have made some very important projects possible, such as a pediatric oncology play area, or a renewed and refreshed emergency waiting room.

Tip 3: Tell your reader what hospital staff think about your subject-as long as it’s positive! For someone just joining you, see if you can get a good comment from a previous employer.

Tip 4: Find out how your subject came to be what they are. And look what they liked about their work and what most rewarding. For example, if you write about a nurse, it is also interesting to read "since I was a kid I always wanted to be a nurse," as it is to learn, "I was in my forties and working with homeless children as I was fascinated by the idea of nursing. "

Include Tip 5: Not just home from work again. Try with the person who directly or speak with someone who knows him well, too. Lists for theQuote that sings. This information comes from an interview with a pharmacist: "When I was a little kid, I loved experimenting with materials in the kitchen. Then I discovered the high school chemistry, and that the mixture could be actually a science." You do not want to see this in a resume, and yet it gives a sense of the pharmacist 's depth of interest in his work.

Tip 6: Make it clear that, as you did your readers, your subject is a life beyond work. Whether you like surfing in Australia or paintingWatercolors, this is a good way to convey their humanity and to develop connections with your readers.

Tip 7: Add some of the family, especially if it is to be the bigger issue in context. If it just so happens that your new boss cardiologist husband is an avid vegetable gardener, this is of interest and to find a way to tie it to the position-perhaps in this case over to heart-healthy vegetable diet.

Tip 8: AQ & A format is an alternative to a simple narrative of yourMake it easy subject, and, since then, questions were being to get your information. Suppose, says Dr. LaSalle, she loves to play the clarinet, and loves to give informal concerts. Your profile might read: "Dr. LaSalle loves to play the clarinet in informal concerts. It could also mean:

Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I love playing the clarinet, and get together with friends for informal concerts.

And finally: Remember to always get on the subject of the consent, prior to publication.

This is a clip of NY Senator Diane Savino speaking in the New York Senate yesterday in support of a motion to legalise gay marriage in the State of New York (sadly, injustice prevailed and the motion was shot down). Senator Savino gives one of the most eloquent speeches I have ever had the privilege of hearing.

“We in government don’t determine the quality or the validity of people’s relationships. If we did we would not issue three quarters of the marriage licenses we do.”

Each month author Lucy Harmer dedicates her journal entries to the theme of “transformative and inspirational living” – finding the fun, magic and laughter in everyday occurrences!
Shamanic Astrology
Exploring the Personality of your Spirit Animal Sign

© Copyright 2009 Lucy Harmer

Last month in my journal (October 2009), I gave an overview of what Shamanic Astrology is. This month, I am going to explore the twelve spirit animal signs of the medicine wheel a little deeper, so that you can begin to discover the special qualities each sign possesses.

There are twelve astrological “signs” on the medicine wheel, which are represented by twelve different spirit animals. Shamanic Astrology teaches us that inner power derives from knowing the properties, characteristics, and qualities of each spirit animal (known as their “medicine”), and applying this in our own lives.

To get you started, here are some of the main strengths and weaknesses of each of the twelve spirit animals. It is really interesting to note that weaknesses are often just a mirror of our strengths and qualities. What we see as “weaknesses” can often be transformed into “strengths.” Take Falcon people, for example, whose “weaknesses” can be their tendency to be impulsive and headstrong. Transformed, these qualities become Falcon people’s strengths – their spontaneity and pioneering nature.

(If you are not sure which spirit animal sign you are, you can find out by looking your birthday up in the second table below – “Which animal sign are you?”)

Strengths and Weaknesses of the twelve spirit animal signs:

I always find it fascinating to look up the qualities of my friends, family and work colleagues. It is amazing how much their spirit animal sign can tell you about why they may behave in certain ways!

You can find out more about the personality of your own spirit animal and how you relate to the other signs, in my book Shamanic Astrology: Understanding Your Spirit Animal Sign. You can also discover the different spirit animal clans that you, your friends and family belong to, and your own special plant, stone, element, color and life path.

Which animal sign are you?
To find your spirit animal sign, just locate your birthday from the dates below, according to your place of birth. If you were born north of the equator (eg; USA, Canada, Europe), then look for your date of birth in the column headed “Northern Hemisphere.” If you were born south of the equator (eg; Australia, New Zealand, South Africa), then look for your date of birth in the column headed “Southern Hemisphere.”

This month, I wish you lots of fun and magic in exploring the strengths and qualities of your own spirit animal sign, and discovering those of your friends, family and work colleagues too!

Love and blessings,

I’m going to steal an idea from Glenn Beck’s blog. (love him!) It’s kind of a fun little game. And I apologize that I’m slacking with my insightful posts that you guys seem to enjoy. I just have nothing on my mind but this political & economic stuff so here it is -

I am going to start my approval rating of Obama with 100%. This rating is valid as of the second he became president. I will subtract or add a maximum of 10 points for everything I find good/bad about his presidency. I will do a quick recap of the past few weeks to see where he is now.

He lost a point fast during his Inauguration speech when he said, “The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works.” If you need explanation for why this is a ridiculous statement, you should not even be reading this blog.
99%

(This may go out of order)

Obama recently made a speech promoting this stimulus bill. (-9. horrible stimulus bill but he keeps one point because I think we DO need SOMETHING to stimulate the economy. However, the bill needs basically totally rewritten. He just wants the horrible thing passed with whatever the bias Democratic congress decides to put in it.) 90%

In this speech he said, “there has been no bill this big passed without earmarks”….Thereby implying that we should pass it with earmarks. Aka. earmarks are ok. We should be ok with them. -6 Don’t put your foot in your mouth Obama. Just because others have done it doesn’t make it ok. Earmarks are BAD.
84%

He is appointing some of the most important positions of government to people who haven’t payed their taxes! And one of them is managing money! WTF. -10. Epic fail. He also stated that we can’t set separate standards for those in the government vs. the people of the united states. Yet these people who haven’t payed their taxes are getting in no trouble. If any average citizen didn’t pay taxes they would have all kinds of problems.
74%

He gave a convincing speech. He’s eloquent. (not really important but he’s just lost so many points I feel the need to cut him a break.) +2 to end at 76%

I went to the sea and I asked her, What is faith? And she answered me faithlessly. And so I went to the hawk, and I asked him. He said it was keeping your back to the sun. But I couldn’t quite believe him either, and so I asked the chickadee, and I asked the mouse, and I asked all the little insects crawling in the grass and underground, but they wouldn’t speak to me because they were afraid, though I heard a few singing as if they would. I have been transcribing some of those notes, but I can make no better sense of their songs than I can the spinning of the earth or the constellations turning in the sky. Would that I were as eloquent as they. Would that I were as blind, and never had to ask. And as soon as I thought that, it came to me, a cloud, a mist, a nebula. It darkened my brain, but I went on anyway, as if I had been called.

1. Not everything is a federal issue; some things are for the states to decide.
2. I hear what you’re saying and you have a good point.
3. One of the beautiful things about our constitution is the liberty given to individuals to pursue their dreams. There is great opportunity in our country to succeed.
4. In an effort to stimulate job growth and despite the objections from my party, I am working with Congress to reduce taxes for small businesses.
5. I am saddened by the cycle of poverty that exists in our major cities, and here is a way we can empower the next generation to break the cycle and fulfill their God-given potential….
6. The folks at the town hall meetings and those who came to Washington on 9/12 were exercising one of the greatest rights we have as Americans, freedom of speech.
7. Stop already with all forms of ‘cult of personality’ behavior. I am a public servant, just like all those who have served before and all who will come after my term is complete. It’s not about me, it’s about the country.

Bismillaah Dear Reader, Abu Hurayrah (radiyallaahu anhu) reported that Allaah’s Messenger (sal

Bismillaah

Dear Reader,

Abu Hurayrah (radiyallaahu anhu) reported that Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Love the one whom you love to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be someone for whom you have hatred, and hate the one for whom you have hatred to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be one whom you love.” (at-Tirmidhee)

Hudhayfah (radiyallaahu anhu) said: “People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah about the good times, but I used to ask him about the bad times fearing lest they should overtake me. I said: Messenger of Allaah, we were in the midst of ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good (time through Islaam). Is there any bad time after this good one?” He said: “Yes.” I asked: “Will there be a good time again after that bad time?” He said: “Yes, but in it will be a hidden evil.” I asked: “What will be the evil hidden therein?” He said: “(That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know good points as well as bad points.” I asked: “Will there be a bad time after this good one?” He said: “Yes. (A time will come) when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whoever responds to their call will be thrown into the fire.” I said: “Messenger of Allaah, describe them to us.” He said: “They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language.” (Saheeh Muslim)

Allaah (Subahana Wa Ta’ala) said: “And of mankind there is he whose speech may please you (O Muhammad), in this worldly life, and he calls Allaah to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of the opponents.” (Al-Baqarah 2:204)

‘Abdullah bin Umar (radiyallaahu anhu) narrated that 2 men came from the east and addressed the people who wondered at their eloquent speech. On that Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Some eloquent speech is as effective as magic.” (Saheeh al-Bukhaaree)

And we are in a time where the ignorant ones are giving verdicts in matters that they have no knowledge about, and people are taking these ‘ignorant ones’ as scholars.

Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallaahu anhu) said: “There will not come upon you a time, except that it is more evil than the time before it. I do not mean a leader better than another leader, nor a year better than another year. But your ‘Ulemah and fuqahaa (i.e. your Scholars) will disappear, and you will not find anyone to succeed them. Then there will come a people who will give verdicts according to their opinion.” (Ibn Hajr related it in Fathul-Baaree). And in another wording: “It is not due to abundance of rain, nor due to its scarcity. Rather it is due to the disappearance of the Scholars. Then there will come a people who will give verdicts on matters based upon mere opinion; and thus they will destroy Islaam.” (Ibn Hajr related it in Fathul-Baaree)

And that, which affirms the truth of what Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallaahu anhu) said, is what is reported in the Sunnah of the Prophet, in his (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam’s) saying: “Indeed, Allaah does not snatch away the knowledge, but He takes it away by the passing away of the Scholars. Such that when no Scholar remains, the people take ignorant ones as their leaders. They are asked and give verdicts without knowledge. Thus, they misguide themselves and misguide others.” (Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim)

And the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Indeed it is among the signs of the Hour that knowledge be sought from the asaghar (minor / lesser people, in lineage or knowledge).” (Recorded by Ibn al-Mubarak in az-Zuhd, 61 and al-Lalaka’i in Sharh Usool I‘tiqad Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa‘ah, 102)

And in the Hadeeth of Anas (radiyallaahu anhu), the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) mentioned some more signs of the Last Hour, amongst which he said: “Knowledge will be lifted and ignorance will become widespread.” (Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim)

And the following statement of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam): “Towards the last days, a people will emerge who will be young in age and have foolish ideas. They will speak with the best speech of the creatures. Their Eemaan will not go past their throats. So wherever you encounter them, kill them, for indeed there will be a reward for the one who kills them on the Day of Judgement.” (Recorded in as-Sunnah of Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal)

Muhammad bin Sireen, Maalik bin Anas and many more of the Salaf (Rahimullah) have said: “Indeed, this knowledge is the Religion! So look carefully towards whom you take your Religion from.” (An authentic narration on Muhammad Ibn Sireen reported by Muslim in the introduction to his Saheeh Muslim)

So when taking knowledge we have to be extremely careful where we take it from because taking knowledge from untrustworthy, unreliable and unqualified sources has led many a people to confusion and eventual straying from the straight path. So this taking of knowledge is something that could be a matter of heaven or hell.

It was said: “The people will not cease to be in good as long as they obtain knowledge from the Companions of Muhammad and their elders. But when they obtain knowledge from their asaghar (minor / lesser people, in lineage or knowledge), then that is when they shall be ruined.” (Recorded by Ibn al-Mubarak in az-Zuhd, 851 and al-Lalaka’i in Sharh Usool I‘tiqad Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa‘ah, 101 and others)

The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “This knowledge shall be carried by the trustworthy of every generation, negating the distortions of the extreme from it, as well as the impersonation of the false people, and the interpretations of the ignorant.” (Related by Ibnul Wazeer al-Yamaanee in ar-Rawdhun Naas (1/21-23), it was authenticated by Shaykh al-Albaanee in Takhreejul Mishkaat (1/28-38/248) and by Shaykh Saleem al-Hilaalee in Hidaayatus Sultaan no. 38)[B]Abu Hurayrah (radiyallaahu anhu) reported that Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Love the one whom you love to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be someone for whom you have hatred, and hate the one for whom you have hatred to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be one whom you love.” (at-Tirmidhee)

Today the desire to die has been overwhelming thoughts of suicide compiling. The thoughts turn in to more and more idea’s. How should I do it? Jump in the Savannah river death their would be quite poetic. Hang myself from the rafters in the garage that could work, but what if the rope breaks or slips? Doing it the way my Grandfather did a knife to the abdomen right in the aorta bleed out. That would be an honorable way to do it. Overdose on pills not as messy, but what if I just end up in a coma ending up in a sublime altered state not alive not dead just waiting. All in all maybe today is not a good day to die, but in all I think the Savannah River would be the sweetest end jumping from the bridge swallowed up by the water and pulled out to sea. Death by your own hand or own terms seems so eloquent but its the easy way out the coward way out, but why does it seduce me so damn much pulling me towards it whispering in my ears telling me it will be the end to my disdain for this world and even more for myself.

I discovered this message in my inbox a few days ago, but when I tried to track it back, it was nowhere to be found! I am reposting it here because the author makes a damn good point. I think I know why they erased it. When I was a kid, I’d get pretty upset if someone disputed my latest theory of how dinosaurs went extinct. I still think the “alien’s came down and shot them with laser guns” theory holds some weight. I hope the author doesn’t mind me reposting the comment so that everyone can see it:

Ref. “jackass” and “inscrutable” issues, thanks for kudos on my depth and interest.

Unfortunately foreclosures and poverty are indeed 1. very capable of being investigated, analyzed, or scrutinized. 2. easily understood; not very mysterious; fathomable: or scrutable. 3. capable of being seen through physically; physically penetrable. Most of all, foreclosures and poverty are tragedies that need not exist on such ridiculous scale in our “exceptionalist” country. Political, social, and economic solutions indeed exist in a Democracy.

Enlightened, fearless, and Free Citizens just need care and act.

So here were my responses:

sarcastic sophistry: I guess the question is: inscrutable to whom? The liver filters poisons– to it, this job is quite scrutable. To the heart, filtering poisons is utterly inscrutable. Each body part knows its job, but cannot fathom any other.

The same applies to people. The dilemmas of anthropology are inscrutable to the biologist. The dilemmas of history are inscrutable to the…

self loathing and guilt: Dammit, who am I kidding. I’m just lazy. I have research skills. I could scrutinize many issues. I could scrutinize like a son of a bitch. Sure, it would take me an afternoon, or two. Man, I’m lazy…

defeatist: Then again, when you consider the subtlety and depth of knowledge held by those who study an issue their whole life, what chance do I have against them…

enlightened: Ahh, so I see issue-talkin’ as a competition, a mental jousting match. I could probably learn a lot from people such as the Writer of the Comment, if I wasn’t afraid of losing an argument.

pragmatic: I almost went out and researched poverty there…but I didn’t. Why? Because today is grocery day. A man has to eat, don’t he?

and finally…

advice to better mankind: Writer of the Comment: why don’t you enlighten the world about poverty? Lay it out for us all. Make that shit scrutable. Blog it up, man.

I’ll keep this one brief. I’m typing without a shirt on, and though I have the general fur and blubber layers of your everyday panda, I am quite cold.

Lately, the desire to completely erase both my posts and start over from scratch has tugged at my mind. Upon first creation I think, Yeah, not bad. As time goes by, snippets of my own writing bubbles up into my memory, and I’m appalled. You’re not really going to let other people read that, are you? That’s what I say to myself. Then panic sets in and I have the nearly overwhelming urge to annihilate it all and start over. This is writing in a public arena, I suppose: the critic in you takes over and is never satisfied until you produce awe inspiring beauty (or capitalized roflmao’s). I’m still learning how to tell my inner critic to F-off now and then (but not forever, man. I need you!) Doing this type of writing definitely helps.

Ok. I’ll come clean. This isn’t my first blog. My first was in a stream of consciousness style in which I subtlety dropped hints of my own psychological issues into each posting. One could begin to see themes: fear of writing, fear of teaching, fear of other stuff. It was all very clever. Somehow I fought the urge to erase it for an entire week. Until I started reading other people’s blogs. It wasn’t that there’s were better (I mean, come on). Rather it was one blog in particular devoted to the topic of Androgynes. That is, folks who appear to be both male and female at the same time. Being an appreciator of ambiguity in all its forms, the topic fascinated me. But then I started to believe that *I* was an androgyne. (Having a beard, receding hairline, bald spot, and a man-gut didn’t seem to factor into my analysis). One night I wrote a lengthy post that perhaps revealed too much of my obsession with androgynes.

Needless to say, I erased it the next morning. And the whole damn blog. That’s how freaked out I got.

So now I’ve decided to do this: instead of erasing this blog, I’m just going to keep piling more and more crap on top of it with each post. Did I say “crap”? I’m sorry, I meant “fresh and eloquent commentary.”

This week, Eloquent Liar Nancy Pelosi made a trip to Shanghai to discuss “energy and climate change” also known as “escaping the heat back home.” This woman never ceases to amaze me. First she boasts that the 111th Congress is “the most ethical Congress” ever, then she attacks the CIA, saying they “mislead Congress.” Now she’s running away to China as a way of distracting the nation.

When it comes to human rights, China is not exactly the forerunner. The 1989 Protest in Tiananmen Square and China’s policies in Tibet have all been harshly criticized by Speaker Pelosi so how does any of this make sense? All of a sudden, she’s in Shanghai, shaking hands with the devil himself? This is all more rediculous than Bill Clinton bombing a Middle Eastern desert during the height of the Lewinsky scandal.

This proves for the thousandth time that Nancy Pelosi is nothing more than a corrupt politician. Why do we as Americans keep re-electing greasy car-salesmen types like her?

I started and ended my day at the Police headquarters. Most of the afternoon was spent in Europe’s third largest male prison. There were conversations with a prison governor, a human rights lawyer and a deputy chief constable alongside fascinating chats with assorted representatives drawn from the great and the good….All very enlightening…. BUT the really interesting part of my day came with meeting some very ordinary people; the people caught up in, or working inside our criminal justice system. My biggest learning moments yesterday came from listening to prisoners and to prison officers and to policemen and women, to healthcare workers and to community educators.

The issues pre-occupying most minds in the media and in the Westminster village at the moment are not, generally speaking, the principal issues uppermost in some other people’s minds. At least, not at first glance anyway. When I was listening I found that nobody really wanted to talk about MPs allowances, mortgage interest fraud, moats, forests, gardens or duck ponds. However, what really surprised me was the degree of sophisticated and highly nuanced analysis that the very same people could bring to bear on the issues which are currently exercising the attention of our most eminent economists, business people and political leaders. I didn’t expect to find too much insight into the consequences of a contracting economy, or of negative price inflation, or of how these phenomena are linked together. I have to say that all my prejudices and pre-conceived notions about the people I met were confronted, contradicted and confounded all day long. Their attitude to the shenanigans of our political elite, on the other hand, was largely dismissive. The most telling comment I heard was “Why should we expect anything better from them, than what we can expect from ourselves.” General unanimity also prevailed on both the principles of ‘natural justice’ and on the sense of betrayal. “If they’e done something that would get me banged up, then that’s what should happen to them!” Hear, hear, I hear you say?…Well read on then…….

Some of yesterday afternoon was spent with a lad who is ‘getting out’ in a few weeks time. He has a three year old daughter and a partner waiting for him. When I met him he was taking a group of businessmen and community leaders for a tour around the workshop where he has been working his ticket. He absolutely impressed the hell out of me. He was eloquent, articulate, well informed, passionate, intelligent and……Convincing! I’d give him a job tomorrow! He’s worked really hard to learn a trade and he’s actually found himself a job to go to when discharged too. He’s decided to relocate away from home to start over ‘without his past’ in the town where he wants to work. The original misdeed that resulted in his incarceration for the last 12 months had a net cash value that was just a small fraction of the money defrauded from the public purse by the least of our ‘respectable’ pillars of society. While they are taking up media air time with their TV apologies we are in real danger of losing all sense of perspective and proportion. This didn’t seem just or fair or proportionate to the young lad conducting us around his prison workshop…AND, of course, the justice meted out for white collar crime is altogether different to the deserts that my prisoner and his peers receive.

I learned that it is very difficult to expect anyone else to live by our rules when we fail to live by them ourselves. I’d like to summarise the gist of some of the other discussions and conversations yesterday. When the Police commissioner was asked what he wanted from us. He told us he’d rather we pay for a thousand extra family health visitors than a thousand more officers on the beat. Our prison officers and health workers were equally clear that there would be no impact whatsoever on managing crime with criminal justice interventions until the public were prepared to put their support behind dealing effectively with drug and alcohol abuse. Everyone was clear that the debate needs to be moved beyond notions of popular morality beloved of our ‘red top’ newspapers. The appeal of religious and family values, however, was acknowleged with astounding generosity and thoughtfulness. On balance, it was clear that the values which previous generations have lived by, have now lost their general utility if not their nostalgic attraction. A longing for days gone by will not help us manage our lives today. I asked the prison governor what he wanted from us. ‘Understanding!’ was his one word reply.

I learned yesterday that there are interventions which would probably work in my country and I learned that they were already working well in other countries too. The behaviours which we currently pay the criminal justice system to contain for us cannot be contained indefinitely; and the cost of this failed strategy will increase. The cost of the proven alternatives will be greater in the beginning but a return on this up-front investment can be expected in the end. The forthcoming election throws our choices into stark relief. My collaborators from yesterday rather expect that a largely discredited and venal political class will present us with the choice of high taxes or low taxes at the forthcoming general election. The outcomes we will obtain for the society we live in are linked closely to our choice at the ballot box! The question eventually boiled down to how we would like to settle our bill. The economic analysis produced yesterday is every bit as stark, as uncompromising and as clear:-

There is insufficient liquidity available in the economy to purchase the goods and services which we have the installed capacity to produce; (people do not have enough money to buy the things they need and want).

Investment in developing more new productive capacity is depressed because returns on this investment do not justify the outlay; (people are hanging onto their money rather than investing it).

A climate of depressed demand and depressed investment has resulted in a flight of capital; (those who have got money are finding a home for it somewhere safe).

Negative price inflation results from a contraction in the economy; (people defer their purchases while waiting for prices to fall).

Held back demand has accelerated elimination of surplus stock and over-capacity; (we don’t need to make things that nobody wants to buy).

Unemployment is the lagging indicator, the last indicator to peak; (people are losing their jobs because nobody is buying the things that they make).

Don’t panic!….Everything’s under control!….Now how would you like to settle your bill?

Lived under bully ?

well..by contesting for congress party from kerala, he is changing that. Do you know who is the bully of kerala ? It’s CPIM !

..you may think.. how can a Marxist Communist party can be called a bully..is’nt..

one has to live and experience those kinds of things. One just cant feel that vicariously.

Coming back to your blog.. Mr.Tharoor is no way going to be the future PM of India. Where do you think Mr.Boyish Gandhi will go ? ehhh

In any case, like u mentioned Mr. Tharoor will be a good foreign policy player of India, especially in the new global order. He is a good candidate for the vacancy left over by Mr. Natwar Singh.

Even after 60+ years of Independence, Thiruvananthapuram still looks same as in 1947 with its royal pride. When Indian leaders talk about development, they all mean erecting high towers and railroads and bridges. Mr.Tharoor having lived in many parts of the world and known the life of the people there, should know that development is all about STANDARD OF LIVING OF A PERSON IN THAT TOWN, nothing more and nothing less.

Talking in national sense.. I never heard a speech from any of the Indian politician/leader for the last 2 years which could inspire me …in an iota. The best I have heard post 2002 is from ex President Abdul Kalam. Sadly, he was not given a second chance even though VOX-POP was in his favor. My current favorite among indian political speech givers are Mr. Lalu Prasad and Mr. Navjot Sidhu for obvious reasons. The whole India will benefit if Congress can form the next government and Mr.Shashi Tharoor in some important chair in Delhi – to inspire the billion people.

According to a statement read by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, President Obama, noted for his near total dependence on the teleprompter when speaking, was leaving a practice session for an upcoming press conference when he happened upon a muted television set near the White House Briefing Room on which someone had activated the “closed captioning” function.

“Apparently, Mr. Obama mistook the captioning for his new flat screen teleprompter and began reading the text aloud,” Gibbs said. Gibbs stated that “what followed was a tragic marathon speaking session that lasted for nearly 14 hours before staff discovered Obama and disconnected the device.”

The President’s accidental filibuster was said to have included a 2-hour episode of “The Biggest Loser,” a much anticipated “Law and Order: Special Victim’s Unit,” the local evening news, and a late night paid infomercial for “natural male enhancement.” The press later described Obama’s reading of the captioning as “eloquent” (New York Times), “historic” (CNN), and “emotionally moving” (Newsweek).

This event comes on the heels of several embarrassing teleprompter gaffes by Obama, including one in which he thanked himself for being invited to the United States when he accidentally read the teleprompter text intended for the visiting Prime Minister of Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, his repeated mispronunciation of the written word “Orion” at an event for Orion Energy in Milwaukee (staff had apparently neglected to spell it phonetically on his teleprompter), a little reported campaign event in which Obama’s thoughts disappeared with his flickering teleprompter image, and a news conference in which Obama responded to complaints about his addiction to the teleprompter blocking the view of photographers by having a giant flat screen TV installed on the back wall and reading his thoughts from that.

When asked for an explanation of how such an event could occur to the President of the United States, Gibbs responded, “That’s a good question. We’re investigating now. How anyone could leave the closed captioning on like that is just inexplicable. The White House staff should know better by now.”

A source at Bethesda Naval Hospital, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the President was doing fine, but was “quite hoarse” and getting some much needed rest ever since doctors turned the screen on his heart monitor around so that he couldn’t read it anymore. “Before that he just kept saying ‘Heart rate 98, Heart rate 97, Heart rate 98…’” the source said, adding, “It was kind of weird, but since we removed that he’s been OK. Although I’d hate to see what would happen to this guy if someone accidentally left him alone in the room with the crawler on the Fox News Channel.”

Another source at the hospital commented that Obama’s dependence on the teleprompter was predictable given his earlier self-admitted addiction to his Blackberry, or “Crackberry,” as it is popularly known. “Those Blackberrys are like a gateway drug,” the source said. He added, “First you’re getting your jokes and ideas from that apparently harmless little toy, and the next thing you know, you can’t even speak like an adult unless someone feeds you your thoughts word for word on a giant television monitor hung right in front of your face. It’s sad — just sad.”

“Oh, and Happy April Fools’ Day.”
