จากที่เราได้รู้วิธีการทำ embed กันไปแล้ว ต่อไปถ้าหากเราจะทำการ สร้าง tag embed ใส่ใน TextInput แล้วให้ผู้ใช้สามารถก็อปปี้ tag ยาวๆๆ ไปใช้ได้อย่างสบาย สบาย มาดูกันเลย

เริ่มจากสร้าง TextInput ตั้งชื่อว่า textbox_txt แล้วเข้าไปเขียน action ใน scene

เราต้องการให้ ผู้ใช้กดที่ TextInput ดังนั้นเราต้องเขียนใน onRelease function ดังนี้

textbox_txt.onRelease = function(){

//…

}

ต่อมาก็เขียนให้ select all ใน textbox ด้วยคลาส Selection

textbox_txt.onRelease = function(){

Selection.setFocus(“textbox_txt“);//กำหนดว่าจะให้ select object ไหน ส่งค่า TextInput เข้าไป

Selection.setSelection(0,textbox_txt.length);//กำหนดตำแหน่ง เริ่มต้นและสิ้นสุดของการ Select

จากโค้ดจะได้ผลการรันออกมาดังนี้

แล้วเราก็จะได้ตามนี้หละครับ ตอนนี้ผู้ใช้ก็จะสามารถกดที่ TextInput แล้ว select all ตัวหนังสือยาวๆ ของเราได้แล้ว หากผู้ใช้จะคัดลอกข้อความใน TextInput ก็กด clt+c แล้วเอาไปวางได้เลย

หากท่านใดมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับว่าเมื่อเราทำ embed flash file มาแ้ล้วเราจะส่งค่าไปให้กับไฟล์ flash ของเราอย่างไร
จากปัญหาที่ผมเจอตอนทำโปรเจค zomdo นะครับ ผมจะมี embed file ที่แสดงแต่ตัว player ครับ มันเลยไม่รู้ว่าจะเล่นวีดีโออันไหน ก็เลยจะต้องส่งค่า id video ไปให้ flash นั้นรู้ด้วยว่าจะเล่นวีดีโออะไร

• การรับค่าในไฟล์ flash (.fla)

ใน scene แรกเลยนะครับ ตั้งชื่อตัวแปรที่ส่งมาจาก embed ไว้ลอยๆ ก่อน คือ var video_id:String;

หากจะเรียกใช้ก็เรียกใช้ผ่าน _root คับ ด้วยคำสั่ง _root.video_id ก็จะสามารถใช้ค่าที่ส่งมาจาก embed file ได้แล้วนะ

เราก็จะได้วิธีการที่จะส่งค่าจาก embed ไปสู่ไฟล์ flash เอาไปใช้ในงานของเราได้แล้วนะครับ ส่วนการส่งค่าผ่าน embed flash file as 3.0 เนี่ยไม่ต้องใส่ tag param FlashVars เพิ่มครับ เพียงแค่ เพิ่มตัวแปรและค่าไปเหมือนกับการผ่านค่าแบบ GET สู่ไฟล์ php ดังตัวอย่างครับ

• ในไฟล์ php (.php) (ส่งค่าจาก embed flash as3.0 +เพิ่มให้ครับ)

ส่วนวิธีรับก็สร้างตัวแปรมาเหมือนที่กล่าวไว้ด้านบนครับ มันง่ายกว่าและเป็นที่นิยมของเวปวีดีโอแชร์ลิ่งดังๆ อย่างเช่น youtube และ vimeo ครับ

At the start of the CampBlog, I was really excited to make blogs but since the first few days of our stay were lessons, I lost my interest on it. I actually lost my interest because I am sleepy of listening on the lectures though I know those will be some of the elements on doing and making my own blog.

As soon as I was acknowledged on how to make my own blog, I became enthusiastic and more eager to make my post and to see it gradually becoming complete. It was made possible because of the use of WordPress’ tools. Their tools are really powerful in creating a blog for readers to view. Some of the tools that is most interesting were the WordPress’ ability to embed videos. I recently used that tools and I think this would help me to make the readers appreciate my blogs. Also, the use of tags is really important because using this, a reader will be able to view my blogs. If I will not use this tool, only little will be reading my blogs and that means that my blog is not too important to be posted.

As I was searching through the vast world wide web today, I cam accross a very good website, named “Countdown To The Year 3000.” Enabling you to countdown the years, months, days and minutes to the year 3000. You can also embed a timer on your website.

The armed forces remain a mystery to a huge section of UK society. I thought this quite strongly when our bus rattled over the cattle grids at Caerwent training area yesterday.

As us 10 trainee journalists skidded along the rain-soaked roads of the 1,500-acre site, we got held up by marines with tired-looking black and green faces and their guns. Smashed-up warehouse buildings and barbed wire lined the roads while skeletal sheep grazed the tufts of grass around them. It was like entering another world.

We were there on a Senior Command Course to watch marines Non-Comissioned Officers – the forces’ real on-the-ground elite – compete for promotion from corporals to sergeants. We were herded around on patrol, ‘embedded’ with the military to test their skills in keeping us alive. Read on to find out if they managed it.

But we also had to test our skills as journalists – whether we could pick through the miles of jargon and chaos, and of course, darkness and freezing rain, and come out with a usable story on the other side.

The military and the press have always been at odds. Journalists take risks; they don’t fall into line, and the soldiers looking after them have to risk their necks to pull them back, like children, from the side of the road.

But it’s worse being a freelancer. If you’re not embedded with a unit you have the advantage of uncensored copy – but the disadvantage of being blown up or kidnapped at any second, as the case of Javed Yazamy proves. According to the International News Safety Institute, 23-year old Mr Yazamy, a freelancer who contributed to the Canadian Press, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Kandahar City, Afghanistan on 10 March this year. He was in his vehicle at the time. There are countless cases like his.

So the MOD’s line recently, especially since Iraq, has been that they’re in support of the press. “It’s part and parcel of being in a liberal democracy,” Major Andrew Ferguson told us.

“Some journalists, once they’re embedded, decide to go against the military to get the story they want. But the individual will be ostracised – and they won’t be allowed to work with the military again.”

The two of us, he said, must work under the same sense of brotherhood the forces work with themselves. And surprised though we were, once we were on patrol with the marines they treated us like family.

The troop, made up of 38 corporals from all over the UK, took us under their wing and showed us round. The men in their mid-thirties, all with years of operational experience, were spending the 10-day period camped out in one of the deserted buildings. They lived on an hour or so of sleep every 24, and 7000-calorie ration kits which included dehydrated lamb dinners, unbranded milk chocolate and even tiny bottles of tobasco sauce.

It was few days in and they were already exhausted; five had dropped out from an original 43, one due to appendicitis. While they sat around and told us their war stories, the November wind whipped through the broken windows of the old ammunition factory where they still are now.

The time came for orders – their briefing - and they all gathered in a darkening corner of the warehouse where a model of little cardboard boxes and crepe paper had been put up. We sat on a cot bed along the wall and were introduced as “our friends in the media”, which earned us a curt nod from around the room. The report points on the model were given names like Kate Adie and Trevor McDonald, in honour of us.

The mission was to make a reassurance patrol in a fabricated Afghan village down the road, with the intention of setting up future civic projects. Those in charge of the various sections ran through a dazzling array of jargon that we tried furiously to scribble down in the near-dark. They explained parts for us, which we just about understood before they moved on again. By the end of the orders we were fairly confident the three of us would just be following the troop sergeant in single file the whole way.

But, as could be expected, the mission didn’t go to plan. We were at the rear of the troop when those at the front came under fire from insurgents (played by members of the army). We were impressed by how we were looked after. They had us sit completely still while supposed chaos unfolded and gunfire rattled overhead.

Some of our colleagues, playing freelance journalists, were locked in a toilet and told to stay there until things calmed down. They weren’t told what was going on; we were. We had various officers retreat from the front line to calmly reel off what they were doing now; even to make some light conversation. Many of them seemed to enjoy having guests in their midst.

Then a corporal from one section was ‘injured’ by a ‘gunshot wound to the leg’ at around 6pm. He was stable, and so it wouldn’t be newsworthy, we were told. As there was a risk of injuring civillians the troop withdrew back to the base. We came back cold, wet, and without a story.

We got back, debriefed, and the men went off to get some kip while we were driven back to our base. It felt like we’d hardly started; and when some young riflemen we got chatting to back at the base went out to play more insurgents at 11pm, and left us to sleep, we felt inadequate.

Before they left, they were a little suspicious – asking if I was hiding a dictaphone under my Times - but more often they were just incredulous about our work, much as we had been towards theirs. Maybe our relationship with the military is not so much hostile as, well, ignorant.

So we could all do with learning a little more about each other - even if the work’s not to our taste. And it seems the feeling’s mutual. As one 21-year-old rifleman said: “Is that all you do? Read papers all the time? I’d rather be shot at any day.”

By now, you may have noticed the nifty mp3 player at the top of my blog’s homepage, and perhaps you’re wondering how I managed to embed that into WordPress.

Firstly, that mp3 player is already provided by WordPress! Simply use the following code to embed it into your WordPress posts:

[audio enter-file-url-here]

Replace “enter-file-url-here” with the URL of your MP3 file.

Perhaps now you might be asking, “But I don’t have a site to host my MP3 files!” Well, there are several sites out there that will let you host files and allow hot-linking, such as Hotlink Files, FileDen and many more. But I didn’t want to waste time maintaining another separate file hosting account. So I’ve turned to WordPress itself.

“Wait a minute, my free WordPress account doesn’t allow me to upload MP3 files!”

Here’s where my nifty little “hack” comes in. WordPress blocks file uploading by extension, so you won’t be able to upload any files that end in .mp3. However, the audio player doesn’t check for this! So we can trick WordPress into accepting our MP3 file, and still play it back using the built-in audio player.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Change the extension of your MP3 file. For example, I have a file called “MyMusic.MP3“. I can rename this to “MyMusic.JPG“
2. Now we can upload this file onto WordPress! Since the extension is now .JPG, it passes the checks, and we’re allowed to upload this into our account.
3. Use the audio tag provided above, and replace the file URL with the one that you got after uploading your fake JPG file. It should look something like this: http://yourusername.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/MyMusic.JPG
4. Save your post and test it out! Voila, we’ve managed to use the WordPress audio player to play our own MP3, and it’s stored in our WordPress account as well!

Okay, this post is going to be quick and dirty. The premier one-or-two-service gadget makers Peek recently released the TwitterPeek.

It comes with a lifetime service plan but only does Twitter.

That’s right. No email. No internet. Not even WAP support.

Just reading and sending status updates.

Which you can do, by the way, via SMS text message from any phone, with or without internet connectivity.

There is no reason for anyone to spend $200 on this device when they can get a killer smartphone for the same amount of money, or a dumbphone and 6 months of basic service.

I hate the TwitterPeek and everything it stands for. And I am not alone:

I use Picasa Web to store a lot of my pictures. Many times I want to include them in a post in this blog. It is easy to link to pictures or to an entire album.

For example, here’s a link to some photos I took last year of the band at SuanLum Night Bazaar in Bangkok:

But Picasa Web has another feature: you can embed a live Flash slide show of an album in a your blog. I wanted to do this for some pictures of Bang Sue Railway Station.

Picasa Web makes it as easy as possible with a screen that includes code you copy and paste into the HTML view of the post you’re writing.

It gives you some options for size, auto play and whether to include captions.

But WordPress.com does not permit that. You can paste the HTML into your page but the WordPress preprocessor strips it out without even a warning.

Similarly I tried embedding a search tool for aviation photos from the well-known site Airliners.net. But WordPress would not allow it. I’m surprised they trust me enough to embed simple links in my blog.

I know why WordPress.com does it. They want to be safe for both blog authors and viewers. There are so many cases of people using such embedding tools to distribute malware. I bet it even happens that an innocent blog author has been persuaded to embed something bad in her blog with disastrous consequences.

And of course WordPress.com is free so any bad person can sign up.

But still it is annoying for the huge majority of bloggers who are just trying to share information from one site to another. It’s sad when one big company (WordPress) cannot find a way to trust content and tools provided by another (Picasa Web is of course from Google). Surely they could work together to ensure that what I’ve embedded is a valid slide show?
