It’s unfortunate that this great achievement will be overshadowed by her appearance on the Today Show where she chose to announce mid-interview that she needed to ‘poop’.

Bill Cosby had it right – kids say the darndest things, no matter how ‘genius’ they may be…

3-year-old Emmelyn Roettger is the youngest American accepted into Mensa at age 2. Her intelligence came to light as soon as she was supplied with the necessary equipment that opened up her world…glasses! Emmelyn’s precociousness  and honesty should be a great asset to her in the future, though she will likely keep future bowel movements to herself as she gets older. 6-year-old Wasik Farhan-Roopkotha - being able to use MS Word is child’s play, literally. Wasik is likely the youngest, self-taught programmer in Bangladesh, and maybe the world. With Computer Science and Computer Engineering being one of the most valuable degrees, it looks like he’ll have his pick of educational institutions to learn from. By all means, this is not an all-inclusive list and there are a lot of talented children out there  from the next door neighbor who mows the lawn, to the child who is a voracious reader.  A common thread that these children have are supportive adults that recognized their potential and nurtured their growth.
