If you’re over 21, you can now play slot machines based on two of your favorite shows, “American Idol” and “Sex and the City.”

Both slots were new releases at the 2009 Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. In “American Idol,” slot players can trigger a bonus round that lets them become one of three judges — Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi or Randy Jackson — and then plays video clips of past contestants, good AND bad.

According to Sphere.com, Paula Abdul was the lone holdout participant even BEFORE she announced she was leaving the show. Innnteresting.

Meanwhile, the “Sex and the City” slot machines are subtitled “Change of a Dress.” Clever, no? They feature bonus rounds that include video clips of all four women plus Mr. Big.

International Game Technology spokeswoman Julie Brown told Sphere, “There’s shoes and purses and lots of bling and big bonuses and the music track, and it’s a very interactive game.”

Speaking of Mr. Big, Chris Noth helped unveil the “Sex and the City” slot machine in Las Vegas. Video below.

“Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany turned down the role of Carrie on “Sex and the City”

Dana Delany has opened up about turning down the role of Carrie in “Sex and the City.”

The actress and multiple Emmy winner, who first hit it big as Nurse Colleen McMurphy on “China Beach,” is enjoying currently stardom again on “Desperate Housewives.”

But the “Desperate” star also passed on the role of Bree on the hit ABC show before agreeing to play newbie housewife Katherine.

Delany told the L.A. Times: “I’d hate to be thought of as the person who turns everything down,” and says she has an explanation for how she goes about choosing roles.

Turns out that the Irish-American actress was simply trying to avoid type casting.

“[‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry] had offered me the role of Bree, but I had just done ‘Pasadena,’ and I thought the role was too similar to that, and I don’t really like to repeat myself,” she said.

“I’ve never ever been in this for the money. I just like to do what challenges me. Thankfully, Marc circled back. That’s unusual in Hollywood. Usually when you say ‘no,’ they hold it against you for the rest of your career. I’ve experienced that.”

The experience Delany alludes to could be her rejection of “Sex and the City,” which she passed on for similar reasons.

“I had done a movie called ‘Live Nude Girls’ with Kim Cattrall that was somewhat similar. It was women sitting around talking about sex,” Delany said.

“[‘Sex and the City’ creator] Darren Star was a friend of mine, and he had joined up withCandace Bushnell and came up with this idea and he asked if I’d be in it. It was very much in the early stages, and I had just done ‘Nude Girls’ and ‘Exit to Eden’ and I just said to Darren, ‘I cannot do a show with “sex’”in the title.’ People will lynch me if I do one more thing about sex.”

Its initial broadcast took place on October 27, 1966, on the CBS network, preempting My Three Sons; CBS re-aired the special annually through 2000, with ABC picking up the rights beginning in 2001. The program was nominated for an Emmy award. It has been issued on home video several times, including a Remastered Deluxe Edition of the special released by Warner Home Video on September 2, 2008, with the bonus feature It’s Magic, Charlie Brown which was released in 1981.

The gangly and lanky Ichabod Crane is the new schoolmaster in Sleepy Hollow. His somewhat odd behavior makes him the ridicule of the rambunctious and robust town bully Brom Bones. Despite his odd appearance, Ichabod quickly proves to be a ladies’ man charming all the eligible local ladies. Finally, however, Ichabod discovers the local town beauty, Katrina Van Tassel. Brom decides to take advantage of Ichabod’s strong belief in superstitions.

It tells the story of Jack Skellington, a being from “Halloween Town” who opens a portal to “Christmas Town”. Danny Elfman wrote the film score and provided the singing voice of Jack, as well as other minor characters.
The genesis of The Nightmare Before Christmas started with a poem by Tim Burton as a Disney animator in the early-1980s. With the success of Vincent in 1982, Disney started to consider The Nightmare Before Christmas as either a short subject or 30-minute television special. Over the years, Burton’s thoughts regularly returned to the project, and in 1990, Burton and Disney made a development deal. Production started in July 1991 in San Francisco. Walt Disney Pictures decided to release the film under their Touchstone Pictures banner because they thought Nightmare would be “too dark and scary for kids”. The Nightmare Before Christmas has been viewed with critical and financial success. Disney has reissued the film annually under their Disney Digital 3-D format since 2006.

Halloween

is a 1978 American independent horror film set in the fictional suburban midwestern town of Haddonfield, Illinois, USA on Halloween. The original draft of the screenplay was titled The Babysitter Murders. John Carpenter directed the film, which stars Donald Pleasence as Dr. Sam Loomis, Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, and Nick Castle, Tony Moran and Tommy Lee Wallace sharing the role of Michael Myers (listed in the credits as “The Shape”). The film centers on Myers’ escape from a psychiatric hospital, his murdering of teenagers, and Dr. Loomis’ attempts to track and stop him. Halloween is widely regarded as a classic among horror films, and as one of the most influential horror films of its era. In 2006 it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

“None of the cast I came up with saw this future for me,” reveals Morgan in ‘I Am the New Black,’ out next Tuesday. “All I have to say about that is, where’s Chris Kattan now? Where’s Cheri Oteri now? That b—- can’t even get arrested.”

But it wasn’t just work at ‘SNL.’ Morgan goes into erotic detail describing an unofficial road trip to an illegal strip club called the Loft.

“I invited everyone to go down there one week,” explains Morgan. “And Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and a few others came along. I didn’t tell any of them what they were in for, so it was all cool when we got there. … Then these two girls came out onstage and started [engaging in sex acts], and that just shut it down. All the grips and crew guys from ‘SNL’ were standing around and loving it, but my castmates took one look at that, turned right around and rushed out of there.”

Morgan felt misunderstood by the ‘SNL’ cast. “I had my finger on the pulse of urban comedy, but when I brought my act to ‘SNL,’ those mother——— just felt bad for me,” confides Morgan. But he does have praise for his ‘30 Rock’ co-star, Tina Fey. “Tina wasn’t scared to come into my world and find the funny up in there. She’s that kind of cool,” he writes.

Morgan also delves into the deeply personal. Coping with diabetes, being estranged from his mother and losing his father to AIDS.

Tracy Morgan, 40, was discovered performing stand-up comedy at Harlem’s Apollo Theater and was a member of ‘SNL’ from 1996 to 2003. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on ‘30 Rock’ in 2009.

Recently I went back home to of course visit my family but also to visit the two stylists that I tra

Recently I went back home to of course visit my family but also to visit the two stylists that I trained under, Jody Iacovelli and Vincent Scerati. I owe these two pretty much everything. Especially Vincent. He noticed me across his salon about 5 or 6 years ago when I was just a client of his salon. He ran across the room to ask me why I wasn’t doing hair, and why I wasn’t doing it in his salon. At that time, I always wanted to do hair, but my father didn’t think it was the most lucrative career path. But about a year or so later I decided that I would send myself to cosmetology school. It was hard I had to work full time and go to school 4 nights a week for almost two years. Vincent promised me a job when I got my cosmetology permit before he even saw any hair that I did. He just saw it in me. Finally when I recieved my permit I ran to Vincent that day and he hired me. I started out shampooing but I moved up to being Jody and Vincent’s personal assistants in less than 6 months. They pretty much taught me everything that I know. And have supported me since the beginning and even still after his salon had to close a little over a year ago.

Well anyway, the reason that I started this post…

my new goal is this…

an Emmy

Yes an emmy award… That is what I want… It surprises me that I never even thought to myself that you could win an Emmy for hair or make-up. But now I am obsessed… I want one.

So you are probably wondering where this came from. It is because Vincent’s partner Jimmy D’ Marco won an Emmy for best make up for a drama series category for his work on One Life to Live. Jimmy, not only works on One Life, but he has also done work on Ugly Betty, and is an international make-up artist for NARS. In other words, he is amazing at what he does.

Jim D' Marco posing with his award

The best part of being nominated is that you get to go…. hello gift bag… hello fun dress… hello fun shoes… I totally would have watched at least the red carpet this year if I have known Jimmy had been nominated because apparently they made it on tv, I would have loved to see what Vince wore and to see Vince’s face.

Ultimately Jimmy has the life I want. he is well known enough that he can live back in New Jersey and have a nice house, and has a name for himself that makes people want to pay him to commute back to New York to work. Don’t get me wrong.. I love New York. But I know it will get a little old soon, and I really do think that I am a Jersey girl through and through. Plus I am a girl of many luxuries. I like full size bathtubs, full size closets, roomy bedrooms, and most importantly central air! Of course all these things are available in New York, but I know I can’t afford it lol. I like the idea of the option to not have to be in New York and that you can still be desirable in another location. Right now I am paying my dues, living where I have to, and working on getting my name out there. But I will get my Emmy. haha

Sigourney Weaver (born October 8, 1949) is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Lieutenant Ellen Ripley in the Alien film series and as Dana Barrett in the Ghostbusters movies. Weaver is also a three-time Academy Award nominee for her performances in Aliens, Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl. She is still one of the very few actresses who has ever been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in a science fiction movie (Aliens).

Although Weaver has played a number of critically acclaimed roles in movies such as Gorillas in the Mist, The Ice Storm, Dave, and The Year of Living Dangerously, she is best known for her appearances as Warrant Officer/Lieutenant Ellen Ripley in the blockbuster Alien movie franchise. She first appeared as Ripley in Ridley Scott’s 1979 film Alien. She reprised the role in three sequels, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection. She was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for portraying Ripley in Aliens. She also starred in two films in 1988, receiving Academy Award nominations for her roles as Katherine Parker in Working Girl and as naturalist Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist. She lost out to Geena Davis and Jodie Foster respectively, although she received Golden Globes for both roles.

Weaver also appeared in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II as Dana Barrett. She played the role of agoraphobic criminal psychologist Helen Hudson in the 1995 movie Copycat, and went on to become one of the most highly paid actresses of the 1990s. In addition to her trademark role as Ripley, Weaver has recently concentrated on smaller roles such as 1999’s A Map of the World and 2006’s Snow Cake. She has also appeared in comedic roles, such as Jeffrey (1994), Galaxy Quest (1999), and Heartbreakers (2001), in which she starred with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

In 1997, Weaver won the BAFTA Award for her supporting role in Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm. In 2003, she was voted 20th in Channel 4’s countdown of the 100 greatest movie stars of all time. She was one of only two women in the top 20 (the other was Audrey Hepburn). That year, she also played The Warden in the movie Holes. In 2006, Weaver returned to Rwanda for the BBC special Gorillas Revisited.

Weaver was approached to star in The Accused but felt the nature of the story was too violent. She was considered for the role of Catherine Tramell in Basic Instinct, but Sharon Stone was cast instead. Bryan Singer originally wanted Weaver for the role of Emma Frost in X-Men: The Last Stand, but Singer (along with screenwriter Dan Harris, who had directed Weaver in Imaginary Heroes) left the project, and the idea to include Frost was dropped. In 2009, Weaver starred as Mary Griffith in her first made-for-TV movie, Prayers for Bobby, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award. She also guest starred in the TV show Eli Stone in the fall of 2008.

Weaver also has done voice work in television and film. She had a guest role in the Futurama episode “Love and Rocket” in February 2002, playing the female Planet Express Ship. In 2006, she was the narrator for the American version of the Emmy Award-winning series Planet Earth. Also in 2006, Weaver narrated “A Matter of Degrees”. A short film that plays daily at The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks (The Wild Center) in Tupper Lake, New York. In 2008, Weaver was featured as the voice of the ship’s computer in the Pixar and Disney release, WALL•E. She also voiced a narrating role in another computer-animated film, 2008’s The Tale of Despereaux, based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo. Weaver has also expressed interest in starring in a fifth Alien film. Pre-production details for the film are expected to start soon.
