Boot camp business lesson Imagine getting up at 4:30 in the morning to go work out. You’re no

Boot camp business lesson

Imagine getting up at 4:30 in the morning to go work out. You’re not really in shape but you’re not too bad but you want what the boot camp owners are advertising: lose inches, shed weight, get firm, and build sexy muscles. You get out of your nice, warm, cozy bed to suit up and go out into the darkness.

At the boot camp, you realize that although you are not the slowest, you are in the group of middles — middle aged and middle ability. You are being taught by a young and fit “hardbody.” She makes you run which is something you hate but you’re too much of a people pleaser to do anything about it except run. After all, you paid to have this young woman tell you what to do.

You are running around in the dark at a local park with a bunch of women you don’t know, and she says to you as you pass by, “Keep going, Betty!”

And you pant, “My name is Cathie.”

You go around again and she says, “Step it up, Charlene!”

And you reply again with a little impatience, “My name is Cathie.”

The third time is the charm, you think, because the instructor has now been told your name a combined total of three times.

Holding your breath, you run past her again, and she says, “Faster, Wanda!”

And you reply with a less-than-patient voice because it’s 5 o’clock in the morning and you’re running, “My NAME is Cathie!”

The instructor replies with, “Yeah, whatever. I have 20 people to remember and you’re just one of ‘em.”

I don’t know about you but I would rather have someone say something positive as I run by than use a wrong name to address me. Now, I know that the instructor thought she was using the right name but if she truly felt she had too many names to remember, then she should have used her self-awareness to keep a positive tone and skip the name part until she was confident she had them all down.

The lesson in this is, if you’re a small business owner and you’re sending people out in your place to be the face of your business, you may want to train them on how you want them to treat your customers. Never assume that they know what to do with people out of their generation especially if your business is targeting a specific one.

People in my generation want to be treated with respect and kindness. Heck, which generation doesn’t want this??

I eventually hurt my back badly at the boot camp three weeks into my torture of duty and couldn’t attend for a while. I asked the boot camp owner if she would be willing to transfer my remaining classes to a new month — I was only going three days per week and what I was asking for was to add a fourth day for three weeks of a new month.

She wouldn’t work with me. Remember, I was only one more body at an in-progress boot camp and all I wanted was what I had already paid for but she wouldn’t budge.

I never went back to that boot camp and told as many people as I could about my bad experience. I won’t name the name here because the boot camp has new owners and it appears the new owner is more enthusiastic and professional, and I wouldn’t want to penalize her for the former owner’s mistakes.

Bottom line is, when you have a small business, make sure all your employees are on the same page about how to treat clients and customers. Also know that even when you have rules when it comes to a sale, it is advantageous at times to be flexible with those rules with good customers.

What is a good customer? One who is willing to come back.

When the owner decided not to do the right thing (in my opinion), she not only lost the $99 I was paying her but all the future business from the women I told about her camp. In an area where there’s many boot camps from which to choose, her biggest mistake was not looking at the big picture and only focusing on following the rules she wrote. The owner could have had her biggest fan promoting her through word of mouth advertising; however, she decided that her rules trumped good business sense.

I found a new boot camp to attend — it’s smaller and it’s much closer to my home, and although the instructor sometimes uses someone else’s name when she’s calling on me to work harder, she immediately apologizes and uses my correct name. I think that’s the right way to create a customer for life.

A re-creation of the famed Surfing Madonna mosaic is being auctioned to help artist Mark Patterson cover the fines and fees he racked up after the city ordered him to remove his artwork from public property.

Patterson and Carlsbad artist Bryan Snyder collaborated on the re-creation, which is about half the size of the original. This new version features an image of Surfing Madonna, which Snyder painted using his signature drip technique, never allowing the brush to touch the canvas—as evidenced in his behind-the-scenes video of the project. Patterson then created an intricate mosaic along the edges of the canvas using glass from the original Surfing Madonna mosaic.

The bid opened Tuesday, and as of now, there is no closing date. Anyone interested in buying the artwork can send an email to theartist@snyderartdesign.com. There’s not a starting bid, though the men are hoping to bring in enough money to cover Patterson’s $6,000 art installation debt.

The re-creation also aims to promote the original Surfing Madonna and its message of ocean conservation. Keeping in that vein, the men have also launched a website dedicated to the project and its mission.

The original Surfing Madonna mysteriously appeared underneath an Encinitas bridge just before Easter. It was weeks before the public learned that Patterson was the mastermind who put it there. In June the city ordered that the mosaic be removed from public property. Several busineses and residents have since expressed an interest in buying it, and Patterson is keeping the artwork in storage until he decides its permanent home.

The central portion of the Surfing Madonna and the smaller re-creation will both be on display during the annual LeucadiArt Walk on Aug. 28.

Last Sunday I headed to the Encinitas Street Fair with my mom. The fair was much bigger than I imagined and full of talented vendors. Here’s what I picked up!

The silky dress will make a perfect swimsuit cover-up or would look great paired with leggings. I stopped back by the booth as they were packing up so I got a deal! I got both items for under $30.

We have it all laid out before you in an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand, regulation-size FREE map.
Encinitas Motel And Encinitas Lodging For Passing The Vacation With Family

Author: Moe Kittaneh

When people think of Encinitas, they unavoidably imagine year around sun and beautiful beaches. Encinitas California sits on the coastline of the Pacific Ocean. To the north of Encinitas there is Batiquitos Lagoon and the San Elijo Lagoon to the south. First people living in the area of today Encinitas Ca were Indians called San Dieguitos, the La Jollans, and the Dieguenos.

Diegueno’s group were mission converts and they wanted to build the Spanish Missions. In the year 1669 Governor of Baja California, Gaspar de Portola, was traveling throughout the San Diego and Monterey in California area. His plan was to build so called presidios, where the population could learn and attend religious service.

The expedition was traveling thru City of Encinitas and Gaspar de Portola named the area of Encinitas for the small oak tree. He named the Encinitas area Encina Canada, that mean in Spanish “Hills of live oaks ?. The worst time to visit Encinitas is from the middle of May through the middle of June. During this time period, the coast is socked with low clouds and the sun breaks through for no more than a couple of hours a day. In fact, we call the annual process by the name of June Gloom.

Assuming you come at a different time, the beaches of Encinitas offer up plenty of variety and beauty. There are literally hundreds of beaches you can visit, but a select few are worth a mention.

If you are looking for the beach with college kids and a party scene, Pacific Beach is the place to be. The beach is wide, wild and packed. A sidewalk runs the length of the beach to the south and is a great place to people watch. If you prefer an alcoholic beverage with your people watching, the outdoors deck at Lahainas is the place to be. The suds flow all day, but make sure to get there early as the deck is small.

If you prefer to have most of the beach to yourself, you need to look to the beaches backed by cliffs. People are lazy, so they tend not to congregate in these areas since you have to hoof it up and down the paths to get to the beach. Stone Steps in Encinitas is a personal favorite. The beach is used sparsely, which makes it a good place to swim and just loaf.

Visiting Encinitas for the first time can be quite overwhelming, especially when you consider that there are so many things you can do. Deciding where to go and what to do can be quite time consuming, which is where, we can help. InnAtMoonlightBeach.com has Encinitas motel which you gives the contentment of living. Our other Encinitas lodging also will be great for your pleasure.

No matter what season you visit, the beach is one area that personifies the entire Encinitas lifestyle. Whether you watching the tide come in or soaking in the sun, the beach is where the action is. From Mission Beach to the Belmont Park rollercoaster – make sure you hit the beaches here.

Some days ago we some of friends went to Encinitas. We spent considerable time poolside at the Encinitas motel and when we felt we were being too lazy, we hiked along several of the bay’s bike paths. People-watching is one of the main resort activities and one prime spot is the Bayside. Encinitas lodging a great place for afternoon or early-evening refreshments while watching the sun go down over the bay. We also enjoyed dinner there, where we chose from a creative selection of entrees.

The Encinitas motel was changing out many of its room furnishings while we were there and, by now, most guests should notice the tasteful new room designs that are in keeping with the motel four-diamond rating. Our room had just been changed out with new furniture, plush pillows and comforters and everything felt brand new. Internet service is included and the hotel offers shuttle service to some nearby shopping areas.

We enjoyed Encinitas motel provided by InnAtMoonlightBeach.com as the Encinitas. Now I’ve plan to go Encinitas lodging with my family. I hope you people will enjoy the Encinitas as like me.

Encinitas Accommodation Gives The Real Taste Of Vacation Which Makes Perfect Encinitas Hotel.

Author: alinur

You’re in Southern California, driving down the 5, top down, ocean on your right. About twenty miles north of San Diego, you draw off the throughway and top into a town full of surfers, breakfast burritos, outdoor cafes, and beaches so good-looking they will congeal you in the sand.

Welcome to Encinitas accommodation, California. As you take a drive along the 101, you pass a million bikers out for their daily workout. People here live the casual life. They take walks, smile a lot, lie on the beach, keep active outdoors, talk to strangers, and for the most part, enjoy life. How couldn’t you when you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world?

It doesn’t matter what time of year you stay, Encinitas accommodation is always out of this world. With skies of neon blue and palm trees and grass in the most stunning shades of green, it’s almost as if the sun has set this town on fire. Stop by one of the many cafes and treat yourself.

Buyers are responding to the homebuyer tax credit and affordable housing prices, this has boosted the sales in March, according to the NAR.

Existing-home sales1, which are completed transactions that include single-family, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, rose 6.8 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.35 million units in March from 5.01 million in February, and are 16.1 percent above the 4.61 million-unit level in March 2009.

Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, said it is encouraging to see a broad home sales recovery in nearly every part of the country, with two important underlying trends. “Sales have been above year-ago levels for nine straight months, and inventory has trended down from year-ago levels for 20 months running,” he said. “The home buyer tax credit has been a resounding success as these underlying trends point to a broad stabilization in home prices. This is preserving perhaps $1 trillion in largely middle class housing wealth that may have been wiped out without the housing stimulus measure.”
