<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Group starts standing in a circle.  One person starts by beginning to act out an activity, for example, pretending to hoola-hoop.  The next person in the circle asks, “(the first person’s name) what are you doing?”  The first person says something that is completely different from what they are actually doing, for example, “I’m climbing a mountain.”  The second person begins acting out whatever the first person says.  In this example, the second person would begin acting like they are climbing a mountain.  The third person says “(second person’s name) what are you doing.”  The second person says something different than what they are doing.  Again in this example, the second person says, “chasing a lighting bug” (something entirely different from climbing a mountain.)  Continue in this way around the circle.</p>
<p>Tips:</p>
<p>The more outrageous the spoken activity the better.  For example, “chasing lighting bugs in a bouncy castle” better than “chasing lighting bugs.”</p>

<p>Participants write their fears related with the training course on balloons and pop them when they the fears are overcome.</p>

<li>At the session distribute one balloon to each participant and tell them to inflate them up and sail them.</li>
<li>Distribute also markers to each participant and tell them to write on the balloons their biggest fear that they have related with the session.</li>
<li>Tell participants to put the balloons in a corner of the training room on the string.</li>
<li>At the end of each session, create a moment  for participants to stand-up and pop the balloons when they consider that the fear is overcome.</li>
<li>Invite them to express their fears and why they consider of letting go of the fear. Underline any learning points you think are important.</li>

<p>Well &#8211; it’s happening.</p>
<p>Costco recently announced it was no longer selling Coca-Cola products as a result of a price battle.  CVS is dropping most Energizer products and will only carry Duracell and its private label.     Following this trend, Wal-Mart continues to move towards its product mix goal of one top brand, one value brand and its private label.</p>
<p>Costco is betting people will continue to come to Costco and buy alternatives to Coke.  CVS has used its customer shopping data to predict a minimal sales drop if they no longer sell Energizer.</p>
<p>What should all businesses take away from this?</p>
<p>Few brands are indispensable to the customer. In fact, you know your customers could find a pretty good alternative if you were no longer in business.</p>
<p>So what can you do to become as close to indispensable as possible?</p>
<p><em>Know your customers</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Why do they choose to buy your product/service?</li>
<li>What do you offer them that they can’t get anywhere else?</li>
<li>Why do they buy from your competitors if you aren’t available?</li>
<li>What do your competitors offer that you don’t?</li>
<li>How are they using your product or service?</li>
<li>How do they use your competitor’s product or service?</li>
</ul>
<p>(These questions can be easily answered through one-on-one interviews and quantified through online research.)</p>
<p><em>Know your competition</em></p>
<ul>
<li>What are they offering that you don’t?</li>
<li>What makes them unique in the market?</li>
<li>Do they partner with other companies?</li>
</ul>
<p>Upon learning about your customers, develop service offerings that they can only get from your company.  Some ideas could be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Guarantees</li>
<li>Special hours</li>
<li>Rewards programs</li>
<li>Loyal customer specials</li>
<li>Packaged service offering</li>
<li>Something extra every time they do business with you (for example, a local Chinese restaurant gives you an extra appetizer as their way of saying thank you)</li>
</ul>
<p>Why no mention of lowering prices on these lists? Making your brand indispensable is not about price; it is about creating value that your audience can not receive anywhere else.</p>

Not only did Aly perform her duties on Fox &#38; Friends Weekend last weekend but she also guest-hosted on American&#8217;s Newsroom this week and subbed as a Cultural Warrior on the O&#8217;Reilly Factor last night. According to her AN co-anchor Bill Hemmer, Aly will be on F&#38;F as usual this weekend. Ailes has definitely upped her profile.</p>
<p>Today one began to wonder if FNC was trying to put a too serious newsperson spin on Aly. Instead of AN&#8217;s customary full-figure views as the show begins each hour, the cameraperson cropped Ms. Camerota from the waist up basically. Apparently, someone called the offending producer to account toward the end of the show: After 100 minutes without any real stem shots, the camera captured three in the last twenty minutes.</p>

Kesuksesan suatu program akan sangat tergantung dari komunikasi yang efektif dan lancar yang dilakukan oleh para pihak yang tergabung dalam organisasi itu.</p>
<p>Berikut ini adalah sebuah game sekaligus memberikan analogi bagaimana pengaruh komunikasi terhadap pencapaian tujuan organisasi/ institusi. Adapun langkah-langkah game-nya adalah sebagai berikut:<!--more--></p>
<ol>
<li>Bentuklah peserta pelatihan menjadi kelompok-kelompok.</li>
<li>Peserta diminta untuk memilih 1 orang yang paling pandai menggambar dan satu orang yang paling cerdas.</li>
<li>Setiap orang yang ditunjuk sebagai ahli menggambar, dipersilahkan maju untuk menggambar sesuatu yang menunjukkan visi atau motivasi kelompok, misalnya menggambar matahari sebagai gambaran bahwa kelompok tersebut akan memberikan pencerahan kepada semua orang yang ada di dunia ini.</li>
<li>Setelah selesai menggambar,  separoh ahli lukis dipersilahkan keluar ruangan. Sedangkan separoh yang lainnya dipersilahkan kembali kekelompok untuk menjelaskan apa makna gambar yang telah mereka buat tersebut.</li>
<li>Bagi anggota kelompok yang ahli lukisnya keluar dimohon untuk memberikan penjelasan apa makna gambar yang telah dibuat oleh ahli lukisnya yang telah keluar ruangan. Orang yang paling cerdas bisa mewakili kelompok untuk menjelaskan gambar tersebut.</li>
<li>Setelah selesai ahli lukis yang berada di luar diminta masuk kembali untuk memberikan penjelasan gambar yang sudah ia buat. Peserta lain dimohon untuk memperhatikan apakah ada kesamaan atau atau perbedaan penjelasan antara ahli lukis dan anggota kelompoknya.</li>
<li>Tiba giliran anggota kelompok yang ahli lukisnya tidak keluar ruangan dan memberikan penjelasan kepada anggota kelompok untuk menunjuk 1 orang mewakili menjelaskan makna gambar yang telah dibuat olah ahli lukisnya.</li>
<li>Setelah itu ahli lukis dimohon juga untuk memberikan penjelasan serupa tentang gambar tersebut.</li>
<li>Peserta lain diminta memperhatikan apakah perbedaan dan kesamaannya.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Pembelajaran</strong>:</p>
<ol>
<li>Bagi kelompok yang sebelumnya tidak ada komunikasi antara anggota kelompok dengan ahli lukis sangat dimungkinkan akan terjadi perbedaan persepsi tentang gambar yang telah dibuat, sekalipun yang menjelaskan adalah oarang yang paling cerdas di dalam kelompok tersebut. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bawah sebagus apapun hasil karya/ prestasi  seseorang kalau tidak dikomunikasikan dengan baik, maka tidak akan bisa dipahami oleh orang lain atau bahkan tidak akan diketahui oleh orang lain.</li>
<li>Bagi kelompok yang sebelumnya telah mendiskusikan/ mengkomunikasikan  terlebih dahulu tentang gambar yang dibuat, bisa dipastikan penjelasan yang diberikan oleh anggota kelompok akan sama atau hampir sama dengan makna gambar yang dimaksud oleh si pembuatnya yaitu si-ahli lukis. Ini menunjukkan bahwa segala sesuatu yang dikomunikasikan akan bisa dipahami oleh orang lain, sehingga makna dan tujuan dari kegiatan tersebut bisa dipahami dan dijalankan oleh semua orang yang ada dalam organisasi tersebut.</li>

<description><![CDATA[I remember Breast Cancer Awareness month last year all too well. Someone incredibly close to me had ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><span style="color:#ff00ff;">I remember <strong>Breast Cancer Awareness</strong> month last year all too well. Someone incredibly close to me had just been diagnosed with it and within weeks had had a mastectomy. Whilst cancer has featured many times in the years I have lived, each time the news breaks the shock remains as great as the first time &#8211; and so does the sense of helplessness, personally.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff00ff;">However, such an extraordinary amount has been done to enhance awareness of this dreadful killer that day in, day out, women are identifying a potential risk and addressing it so speedily that <em>lives are being saved </em>- your mother, your sister, your daughter, your best friend, maybe you.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff00ff;">Frankly this year I&#8217;ve been a bit useless in addressing this and doing anything to actively help &#8211; until now. I&#8217;ve long known that the easiest way to do things is to incorporate it into your regular routine. It requires little to no extra effort and yet if it can save a life it&#8217;s almost impossible to discount.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff00ff;"><strong>Energizer </strong>and <strong>ASDA </strong>also recognise this and have applied this principle directly. Energizer has issued a limited edition &#8220;Tickled Pink&#8221; (and boy are they pink!) batteries, of which 10p per packet will be donated to the &#8220;Tickled Pink&#8221; campaign launched way back in 1996 by ASDA and endorsed by the <strong>Breast Cancer Campaign </strong>and <strong>Breast Cancer Care.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff00ff;">Now, I don&#8217;t know about you but I have various devices around my home that require batteries &#8211; and if there&#8217;s one thing I seem always to be running out of&#8230; it&#8217;s batteries! Therein, if you have a similar issue would you please join me in popping into your local ASDAs (or George, if there&#8217;s one nearby) and having a little stock-up for the winter.<br />
How simple can it be?</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff00ff;">Better still, I&#8217;ve no idea which life our small effort will go towards helping; which family might escape the devastation of losing a loved one but it strikes me that helping is both humanity and womanhood at its best. </span></p>
