<p>2.  Design Engineer (Mechanical/Civil)<br />
 KEY RESPONSIBILITY </p>
<p> Read, understand client specifications (data sheets/standard)<br />
 Prepare preliminary designs of mechanical static drawing equipment, storage tanks, pressure vessels, etc<br />
 Provide material take off (MTO) of products for weight estimation during bidding<br />
Review client comments on engineering deliverable; design calculation/drawings for final approval<br />
Raises deviation requests (DR)/ concession request on necessary to meet project specific requirements<br />
Familiar with detailed design with velite/compress software tank<br />
Understand and applies relevant design code e.g ASME section viii div I PD 5500 etc<br />
Prepare MTO from detailed design/drawing for procurement<br />
Ensure products satisfies client, requirements and standard codes<br />
QUALIFICATION: B.sc/HND in mechanical Engineering with minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience<br />
3.  Design Engineer (Civil/Mechanical)<br />
KEY RESPONSIBILITY </p>
<p>Prepare preliminary designs of steel structures for weight estimation during bidding.<br />
Perform quick structural member size determination<br />
Basic knowledge and application of relevant structural design codes such as BS 8110 etc<br />
Familiar with detailed structural design using staadpro/sacs etc<br />
Review structural fabrication drawings for client approval<br />
Generates MTO for weight estimation of steel structures during bidding<br />
Ensures that structural products are safe and meets clients and code requirements<br />

<p>The programs taken must be accredited by the ABET. Regardless of what type of engineering career you want to pursue, most prospective employers will require you to have a mathematics and physics background. Once you have graduated, you will need to obtain a license to prove your credits and training. You will need bout three to four years of supervised training beforehand since you are required to have about four years of relevant work experience. Once you have some work experience under your belt, you will need to pass a state exam. Once you have done that, you can venture out to look for work. Continued education is usually required after a certain period of work, or if you wish to move up the ladder in the field you have chosen.</p>
