Dr. Enric Sala, a Marine Ecologist and a National Geographic Fellow want to take us on a journey back in time, show us what our oceans, islands and coral reefs looked like before our (human) impact. He promises to show us how we can preserve these ecosystems and sustain them for our future generations. Dr. Sala is setting out on a six week voyage through the Southern Line Islands, part of the Republic of Kiribati in the Central Pacific Ocean. This expedition is called Ocean Now because we must act now to find, survey and protect the last of the healthy and undisturbed parts in the ocean. However, to make a global difference, this work must be shared and we are invited to join Dr. Sala and his team.
