Having become accustomed to the simplistic but effective Iron Gym pull-up bar, this Bowflex Bodytower arrived as a welcome replacement. Assembly of the unit was relatively easy and took about an hour, but it could be possibly shorter with two people. The tools needed to assemble are included and only a box knife is needed to open the box and extract the nuts and bolts from their plastic-covered cardboard backing. The box includes both an Assembly Manual and an Owner’s Manual in English, separate manuals in French, and the option to view the Spanish manuals at the company’s website. The Owner’s Manual includes safety information, a few pages of general workout tips, a muscle chart, and nine pages of suggested exercises (most of which include illustrative images). Exercises include push-ups at various elevations, chin-ups, supine rows, and the triceps dip.

Though the Bodytower is primarily interested in upper body workouts, the unit does allow for assistance with crunches and calf raises. As others have mentioned here, the unit will most likely feel slightly undersized for those over six feet all. I’m 6’3″ and the unit is entirely functional though I imagine I’d be a bit more comfortable with a slightly larger unit. Regardless, the Bodytower is an excellent home gym addition for those interested in increasing upper body strength. It’s well constructed for the low price point and offers a myriad of different exercises. I’ve used the Bodytower for several hours and have yet to find an outright negative. Definitely recommended.

Assembly was routine for this type of product. I used some ratcheting wrenches and an electric drill so it was pretty easy. The hardest thing was extricating it from the copious amount of wrapping and packaging. It seems pretty sturdy and should last a long time. After putting it together I played around with a few of the exercises. I’m really looking forward to expanding my workout routine using the variety of things it will let me do.

The Bodytower is a well-built machine with more functionality each time we use it. The box arrived in good condition–everything wrapped well, nothing got too jostled, and no wasted space. It took 2 of us about 30 minutes to assemble the tower, although 1 of us could have done it. Nearly half the time was spent unwrapping everything and laying it out, but I’d rather have that than the opposite. The instructions were easy to follow, and if you have your own tools – basic hex wrenches – it might go more quickly. The cool thing about the Bodytower is the adjustable bar, which is easy to move up and down, and increases both the intensity of the workouts but also the # of exercises. There is a flimsy card with exercises to put on the bar, but we just put it next the machine. There are videos online but we haven’t looked at them yet. I’m 5’8″ and my husband is 5″11 – the tower is fine for us. I think if you’re taller, like over 6’1″ or 6’2″, it might not feel as comfortable, although it would probably work just fine. Overall, this was an easy purchase to make – and we can’t wait to find more new exercises to do on this.

Ordered the treadmill because it met my budget and functionality requirements. Also received an email from Maxima to, confirming my order requirements. The treadmill was delivered on the due date, and I had it assembled within 15mins. The booklet is straightforward, and operation of the treadmill is simple, which is what I wanted.

The programmes all work, with plenty of variety so that you don’t get bored with the routine. Used my ipod with the speakers, and they are clear and a reasonable volume. Folding away the treadmill is a simple one person operation that takes 5 seconds.

The running surface is fairly large and comfortable to walk / run on, and the structure of the treadmill is solid and looks very durable. Incline and speed are easily adjusted on the hand rails too, which makes life a bit easier. Also tried the heart measurement, which works fine.

Received detailed programme information from maxima on the exact incline / speed profile for each programme, which allows you to identify your favourite programmes.

Superb treadmill and excellent service, recommended without hesitation.

First of all, my treadmill arrived on the day and on time promised, which I was extremely impressed with. The technicians were fantastic in fitting up the treadmill and explaining fully how the equipment works with all the various set ups which came with it. The instruction manual and photos are easy to follow and has been helpful to me in understanding the treadmill. Since delivery I’ve been using it 3-4 times weekly and is really happy with it.

I wanted something that was simple and clear to use and this is just right, the treadmill also feels strong and sturdy and is value for money. I use the side weights alot and have just received the written out 48 programmes guidance. It’s not often that after purchasing anything these days you feel you can contact the aftersales team without dread. With the Maxima team this is not a problem at all, they are courteous, helpful, polite, and happy to speak to you personally on a one to one, email you or phone directly with further indepth explanation.

A fantastic treadmill and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Maxima treadmill to any of my friends, family or colleagues.

We’ve had this running machine for a couple of weeks now and it’s great. Two guys from Maxima Fitness came out and installed it for us (no extra charge). It’s run smoothly ever since, with only a couple of minor adjustments at the very start.

It comes with 48 set programmes of varying difficulty. You can set the slope and speed, there’s some speakers you can plug your mp3 player into, and some weights that go on the side (haven’t used those yet). Basically, it does what it says on the box and does it well with the bonus of support from some guys that care about their products and business. Recommended!
