El atacante nacional Bryan Ruíz marcó su décimo gol del campeonato y séptimo en fechas consecutivas para darle la victoria al Twente sobre el Vitesse 1-0 en casa. La jugada del gol viene de un centro desde la banda derecha que cabeceó Tiendalli a Ruíz y este aguantó la marca para definir ante la salida del arquero al minuto 84. El Twente sigue líder tras 14 fechas e invicto.

En otros juegos, PSV y Ajax golearon a sus respectivos rivales y se mantienen segundo y tercero respectivamente.

El Twente de Holanda se afianzó en la punta del campeonato con su victoria en casa ante el Ajax de Ámsterdam. El Ajax contó con algunas aproximaciones en el primer tiempo, especialmente un remate del uruguayo Luis Suárez que se estrelló en el poste. Para el segundo tiempo el nacional Bryan Ruíz tomó la pelota corrió por la banda derecha y recibió una falta. El tiro libre ejecutado por Stoch llegó a la cabeza del nacional quien desvió de forma perfecta la pelota para marcar el 1-0 definitivo al minuto 47. El Twente contó con otras opciones e incluso les anularon un gol por posición adelantada de N’kufo. El Twente es líder con dos puntos de ventaja sobre PSV y seis sobre Ajax.

En otros juegos PSV Eindhoven visitó al ADO den Haag y lo aplastó 1-5, mientras que el AZ igualó en casa ante el Feyenoord.

El equipo Twente derotó 1-0 al Ajax con gol del costarricense Bryan Ruíz al minuto 47 del partido y se consolida en el liderato del fútbol holandés.

Se disputó el clásico del fútbol holandés entre el Ajax y el Feyenoord en el Amsterdam Arena. El marcador final fue un aplastante 5-1 favorable a los locales. Los tantos del Ajax  fueron obra de De Zeeuw  a los 42’ y 82’, Emanuelson al 47’, Van der Wiel al 58’ y Suárez al 90 de penal. Para los de Rotterdam anotó Landzaat al 74’.
El líder Twente derrotó 1-2 al Roda JC con un gran gol del tico Bryan Ruíz al 34’ tras una asistencia de Stoch y seis minutos después un potente remate de Stoch se convertiría en el segundo tanto de los visitantes. Jeanviun Yulu-Matondo descontó al 56’.

Gertjan Verbeek didn’t find his way to a coaching job in the top dutch flight the quick way. He earned it the old-fashioned way. Hard work and time served.

Unfortunately for Gertjan, the slow path to the top of the dutch game - as gaffer to eredivisie giants Feyenoord - didn’t appear to provide a cushion for his quick fall. Well, that is until now.

Following a horrid season with Feyenoord, Gertjan found himself a coaching job with Heracles Almelo - where he previously enjoyed a brief stint as a defender and later found his first head coach job with the  eerste divisie side. It looked like he was on a slow path back down into the depths of lower tier football. The club had finished 17th the previous season, one spot above relegation playoffs.

But now, 12 rounds into the season, Heracles is sits sixth in the league table and the team is playing passionate football. With an entertaining win against top table regulars FC Utrecht this past weekend, the somewhat eccentric Verbeek is staying humble. 

“We need to keep our feet on the ground. We’re not even halfway through the competition,” says Verbeek.

Sounds like usual expectation-setting speak from a coach. But for Gertjan, who was schooled under Foppe de Haan at SC Heerenveen, this kind of steady-footedness is more a way of football life then simple interview babble.

At Heerenveen, Gertjan spent most of his 10-year playing career – two of which were in the eredivisie. He was a defender with a knack for finding the back of the net, scoring 10 goals in his best season. In his last season as a player, the club earned its most recent promotion, where it has since solidified its place in the top flight. His status as a crowd favorite and long tenure earned him a position as assistant trainer.

He worked under Foppe de Haan for six years, until he had the opportunity to lead Heracles. He impressed immediately, taking the club from the bottom of the table to a respectable eight-, followed by two fourth-, place finishes. His efforts didn’t go unnoticed and he found himself  heir to Foppe de Haan’s throne at Heerenveen.

During his four-year tenure, his roster was blessed with the striking likes of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Alfonso Alves and Michael Bradley. It was no wonder that he kept the team in contention for European places and completed his seasons with three fifth- and one seventh- place finish.

At last, his moment to the top of the dutch league had come. He would takeover from Bert Van Marwick and lead this band of high-paid, reputable overagers and high-potential youngsters in 2008-2009. But the fairy tale never came true.

After 26 matches, the club was embarrassingly in 12th.  The team sacked him. A string of mysteriously similar hamstring injuries. Demanding and stubborn veterans. Fourteen losses.

“I can’t fight windmills,” Verbeek said immediately after his sacking. The same steady acceptance of the circumstances. Circumstances that helped him up. Circumstances that brought him down.

Despite all this, he always had the support of the most important stakeholders: the fans. That support provided a net so he wouldn’t fall too hard, giving him a place at Heracles.

But now, 12 games into the season, he’s reached higher than he could, given the circumstances at Feyenoord. And, it might just be, that this second chance is just another step, up, on his slow path back to the top.

De macht van de massa werd onlangs weer eens ingezet om de wil van weinigen op te leggen aan de meerderheid. In Waalwijk waren maandagavond 26 oktober jl. vijfhonderd supporters van de plaatselijke betaald voetbalorganisatie op de been. Met een protestmars naar het gemeentehuis wilden de vijfhonderd er voor zorgen dat de gemeente toch nog eens serieus wil nadenken over het redden van hun club. Waalwijk kleurde felrood van het vuurwerk, de sfeer op het Raadhuisplein in het voor de rest uitgestorven Waalwijk benaderde een gemiddelde oud-op-nieuwnacht.

In de problemen
Waar gaat het eigenlijk om? Er is een betaald voetbalorganisatie in de problemen. Dat is geen nieuws onder de zon. De Waalwijkse club is al vaker in de problemen geweest. En telkens moest de gemeente de reddende hand toesteken. Dat schijnen de supporters voor het gemak te vergeten. Een landelijk bekende, maar toch ook weer zo lokale keukenboer heeft de club in het verleden ook al gered. Ook nu wil de ‘Dirk Scheringa’ van de Langstraat zijn beurs trekken. Maar…niet voordat de gemeente de huur van het stadion – dat diezelfde gemeente al eens kocht van de club om de club te redden – verlaagt van zes tot naar drie ton. Dan zal de keukenmecenas het gat in de begroting dichten.

Democratisch compromis
De gemeente wil niet verder gaan dan 4,5 ton. Dit noemen we een democratisch compromis. Maar dat is niet genoeg. Dus werden de supporters weer eens ingezet om de wil van de keukenprins kracht bij te zetten. Of het mag baten, is de vraag. Wat ook de vraag blijft, is de volgende: moet de overheid betaald voetbalclubs steunen met belastinggeld? Een andere vraag: is er in Brabant wel ruimte voor zo veel betaald voetbalclubs? Nog één: wat dragen de voetbalprimadonna’s – ze zijn per man goed voor een ‘jaarsalaris’ van een ton of vijf – zelf bij om hun club te redden? En trekken de supporters hun portemonnee? Wat doen de andere sponsoren? En hoe verhoudt het verlagen van de huursom van de betaald voetbalclub met enkele tonnen zich tot de huur van – pak ‘m beet – een Nederlands Leder- en Schoenenmuseum?

Leuk museum in een foeilelijk gebouw
Nederland telt slechts één museum op het gebied van leder en schoenen. Voor de voetballiefhebbers onder ons: er staan ook voetbalkicksen! Het is een schitterend en leuk museum in een foeilelijk gebouw. Dat gebouw – een aftands fabriekspand op hetzelfde bedrijfsterrein als de meubelboulevard van de keukenprins – is van de gemeente. Het museum betaalt er elk jaar steeds meer huur voor. Van verlaging is geen sprake. De huur benadert nu bijna een ton per jaar. Omdat het museum ook afhankelijk is van subsidies, verhoogt de gemeente het jaarlijkse subsidiebedrag met exact hetzelfde bedrag als de huuropslag. Kan het gekker? Een museum heeft niet alleen een vermakelijke, maar ook een behoudende, opvoedende en culturele taak. Daar zou een gemeente dus zonder zich te schamen geld voor mogen, nee moeten uittrekken. Wat doet die gemeente? Die zal de betaald voetbalclub wel weer gaan redden. Dan kunnen de geelblauwen weer een jaar of vijf vooruit. En dan lopen ze tegen dezelfde problemen aan.

El FC Twente donde milita el nacional Bryan Ruíz goleó al FC Groningen por 4-0. El primer gol fue de Stoch al 5’ rematando potentemente desde las cercanías al borde del área. Al 21’ Tiendalli remató desde una posición similar a Stoch y el portero solo atino a hacer la estatua 2-0. Al 62’ el capitán N’kufo marcó de penal para los locales. Cerró la cuenta el nacional con gol muy trabajado, ya que recibió un balón complicado cerca al área chica, dominó, con la marca de tres centrales y cayéndose remató colocado para poner el 4-0 final. El Twente es superlíder y sigue invicto.

En el juego más llamativo de la fecha, el Ajax goleó de visita al actual campeón AZ Alkmaar 4-2. Los locales fueron mucho mejores en el primer tiempo, sin embargo solo metieron un gol de al menos tres que pudieron concretar. La anotación fue de El Hamdaoui. En la segunda mitad el Ajax marcó tres goles en un santiamén. Primero fue Emmanuelson al 57’, luego el charrúa Luis Suárez cerrando la pinza tan solo un minuto después, le siguió Van der Wiel al 68’. Al minuto 90 una vez más Suárez marcó un gol similar al anterior, rematando en el lado izquierdo del área un centro. Al 93’ Graziano Pelle se volcó de chilena y marcó el descuento local. Ajax es el equipo más goleador y marcha tercero. Ajax jugará el clásico de Holanda el próximo fin de semana contra Feyenoord.

PSV no se quiso quedar atrás y con goles de Dzsudzsák a los 18 segundos, Reis al 15’, Bakkal al 49’ y Lazovic de penal al 53’; derrotaron 0-4 al NEC Nijmegen.

Bryan Ruíz anotó y asistió en el Twente 3-2 AZ Alkmaar.

El FC Twente en el cual milita el nacional Bryan Ruíz, derrotó en casa 3-2 a los actuales campeones del fútbol tulipán. El primer gol de los tukkers fue de Kenneth Pérez al 36, quien recibió un centro desde la derecha, Ruíz intentó rematar de chilena pero no hizo contacto con el balón y Pérez recibió solo para marcar el primero. Empataría AZ Alkmaar con el gol de Mounir El Hamdaoui en el minuto 57’, en una gran cambinación con un compañero y definiendo suave y raso ante la salida del portero. Tres minutos después un centro fue desviado por el defensor Peter Wisgerhof del Twente contra su propia portería. Con el marcador en contra Ruíz y compañía reaccionaron inmediatamente. Al minuto siguiente, N’Kufo tocó de primera un balón que le llegó, ese toque fue un pase sensacional para Ruíz que pasó por encima de los defensores, Ruíz rompió la línea del offside y remató de seguido con su pierna izquierda para decretar el 2-2 al 61’. Cuando parecía que el choque terminaba empatado a dos, un centro de Stoch llegó a la cabeza de Ruíz, al parecer N’Kufo la tocó levemente y batió al guardameta visitante para el definitivo 3-2.

En otros partidos, Ajax venció a Willem II 4-0 con goles de Suárez al 29’ y 90’, Sulejmani al 64’ y Pantelic al 82’. El segundo lugar de la Eredivisie PSV Eindhoven, también ganó aunque de forma sufrida ante el Heerenveen por 1-0, el gol feu de Lazovic cazando un rebote al minuto 81’. En el derby de Rotterdam Sparta derrotó a Feyenoord 2-1 con goles Poepoo al 57’ y Strootman al 84’, para Feyenoord anotó André Bahía al 11’.

Heracles Almelo 1-3 FC Twente

En la Eredivisie, el cuadro del Twente derrotó de visita al Heracles Almelo por 1-3 y este resultado en combinación con el empate entre Utrecht y PSV 1-1, les permite ser líderes en solitario a los de Enschede. Sin embargo el camino no fue fácil para los tukkers en su victoria de hoy. El primer gol del juego fue del Almelo al minuto 9, cuando Everton remató un balón que el portero visitante no supo controlar. A los 30 minutos cayó el empate de Twente por intermedio de Bryan Ruíz en una muy buena jugada en el área que selló con un potente remate de izquierda. En el segundo tiempo cayeron los otros dos goles. Al 54’ N’kufo remató potente dentro del área y un minuto después Janssen marcó con otro gran disparo, solo que esta vez fue de afuera del área de penal.

En otros resultados importantes Ajax empató y AZ regresó a la victoria.
