Facing quite literally the harsh light of the paparazzi last week at D&G and The Cinema Association’s New Moon film screening in NY Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart and the rest of the Twilight cast braved hysterical flashbulbs to bring you these EXCLUSIVE red-carpet glimpses.

With rumours that crazed fans spend their days riding lifts in the stars’ hotel hoping for a glimpse of their idols, moles amongst the Twilight cast leaking their every move and stalker-iffic photos of the cast consuming the blogasphere it’s no wonder the Twilight cast need to let their hair down occasionally…Go backstage with us and get all the screening (and screaming) action here.

Gio (Freddy Rodriguez), Daniel (Eric Mabius), Henry (Chris Gorham).

I had some spare time this weekend, so I decided to catch up on a few episodes of “Ugly Betty.

I had some spare time this weekend, so I decided to catch up on a few episodes of “Ugly Betty.” Seeing as how it’s currently November and I still hadn’t seen the season finale from May, it was about time.

I found that once I got back into the series, I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. This forced me to lounge around and watch three of the four episodes that have been aired so far this season. (Sorry, econ homework).

I must say, the show is the best it’s been since season one. However, ratings have gone down something like 37 percent from last year?? I’m blaming the show’s Friday night, 9 p.m. time slot for the dip in viewers. I’m betting a lot of fans, myself included, watch episodes online when they have spare time, not at 9 on a Friday night.

While some critics believe that Betty (played by America Ferrera) has run her course, I wholeheartedly disagree. The show still has the same wit it had during season one, which is one of the best parts of this show. It would be nothing without Amanda (Becki Newton) and Marc (Michael Urie) slinging insults at Betty, and now that she’s more confident, her handing them right back.

*SPOILER WARNING*

To get you up to speed thus far…season four finds Betty working her way up the Mode food chain, as she is now a junior features editor for the magazine. She and Marc were both up for the position, and Marc is not at all pleased Betty beat him out for the job–and he makes no effort to hide his disdain. To add to Betty’s stress, her ex boyfriend, Matt (Daniel Eric Gold), is now her boss and tries to make her life as difficult as he possibly can. Daniel (Eric Mabius) is trying to get back into the swing of things after the death of his wife, which includes hiring a new assistant at Mode and befriending a woman in his therapy group.

*END OF SPOILER*

Here’s some of that humor I was talking about. The following clip is from episode four of this season, where Betty and Marc investigate the top 10 worst jobs in NYC and pitch their idea to Wilhelmina. One of these jobs is that of a hot dog vendor…

To catch season four of “Ugly Betty,” tune in Friday at 9 p.m. on ABC, or catch up on episodes here.

Fashionistas get ready for my favorite feel good show, Ugly Betty!

UB returns to TV tonight on ABC with a two-hour episode at 9PM. This gives me a new reason to stay in on Fridays like the TGIF days in the 90’s.

Three reason why Ugly Betty is a stylista’s must-have:
- UB highlights the best and worst of contemporary fashion
- NYC Love
- Great cast with amazing guest stars including Shakira this season!
- Inspirational storyline. Ugly Latina girl from Bronx, breaks into high-fashion. The total underdog story! If she can, anyone can!

Ugly Betty came out at just the right time. The Devil Wears Prada had just hit theaters (and the movie, unlike the book, had an actual storyline, garnering it a lot of fanfare) and with America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway also a big deal, fashion was at center stage.

Ugly Betty is by no means a unique story, since it is almost the exact duplicate of the movie, at least in regards to the main character Betty Suarez’s storyline. Of course, they expand the story by adding in the family drama of the Meade family–the mother charged with murder, the long lost brother who has had a sex change, a vindictive Wilhemina always plotting to steal playboy Daniel’s position, Betty’s immigrant family (well, her father) and their various troubles, Christina’s husband’s illness, etc. The show keeps coming up with new twists and turns that are sometimes unexpected and other times just plain unlikely. And yet I can’t help but keep watching. (But this isn’t a review about the show itself, which I will write at some point, so I’m not going to go on…)

What are they scheming now?

One of my favorite parts of the show is Mark and Mandy. They’re just ridiculous and awesome. So think of how pleased I was to find minisodes centering around those two characters. I don’t know how long it’s been online, but it must have been a while since there were six episodes up on the ABC website. Now, maybe it was 4:30 am, but I could not stop laughing. If you’re looking for a way to kill five minutes here and there or you need an Ugly Betty fix before the season returns, check it out. You won’t be sorry.

The entire concept of minisodes has burst onto the internet in the last few years. It is one of many gimmicks companies have employed to get viewers more invested in the show. It’s also a nice way to let us get more of characters that are a lot of fun but often get ignored during the show.

Catch up now with seasons 1-3: Ugly Betty: The Complete Seasons 1-3

Filmen The Crow kom 1994 och fick kultstatus.

“I joined the marines after someone very close to me was killed by a drunk driver. I just wanted to stop thinking about it and have some structure in my life. But, I was still filled with such rage and frustration that I had to get it out before it destroyed me. One day I just began drawing The Crow; it came pouring out” – James O’Barr

Men samtidigt otroligt bra.

“I don’t believe Eric is a hero. He can be absolutely cold-blooded and ruthless at times. When he goes into a room to get one person, everyone else in the room is probably going to die as well. I think what he’s doing is terribly romantic, but I wouln’t call him a hero“

(ps.

1994 Kom den storslagna filmen The Crow.

Just det, Heath Ledger….

Men lyckades aldrig.

Kropparna slängs sedan ned i havet.

Mabius ville egentligen spela Funboy i originalfilmen.

Mabius spelar Alex Corvis.

Dock är The Crow i hennes bok homosexuell.

Här ser vi Edward Furlong bli The Crow.

Written & Directed By: Eric Schaeffer
Cinematography By: Kramer Morgenthau
Editor: Michael Stanley

Cast: Eric Schaeffer, Callie Thorne, Eric Mabius, Samantha Buck, Jim Gaffigan, Keri Lynn Pratt

This is obviously a very personal film and though the character is under another name it is obviously based on him and for once wisely he knows to give the heavy lifting in this film to other actors and act more as a older version of the main character. But still has very few scenes. The film definitely shows a artistic growth in material and skills

This is the story of Wirey Spindell who is on the eve of getting married and getting cold feet so he decides to go through his past and experiences to examine what is caring him so much he is also a ex drug addict and sex addict and as we see him grow over the years we see how these addictions started and shaped the person he is now.

There will probably be some uneasiness with a lot of scenes involving his child age and teenage self. In sometimes graphic sexual situations. But if you pay attention it is worth it and for a reason. The film is filled with sight gags and actual jokes that are funny well thought out and set up. Instead of like in his past films there just to be there.

The Film feels like a piece of art and fully formed. It is more personal then his past films as this one doesn’t seem to have a filter or a side plot to distract from the main story. With this film there seems to be a maturity to the work a deepness that illustrates the work and no matter how far down the road or the bad decisions made you still care about the characters. The mood of the film still seems dark but it feels like you must go through all of this, To truly understand themselves and learn from there mistakes.

It’s a nice low budget film fairly entertaining film that will make you definitely feel something after you watch it you may even find yourself reliving scenes from your.

One talent he has maintained throughout all of his work he has a definite eye for talent. He gives them a early showcase.

The Husband:

After a season of wildly fluctuating success, Ugly Betty finished off its season with style and grace, and even though some stories ended up deflating considerably, others found a bit of truth in them, while one caught me completely off-guard. After what I thought was a damn good fall half of the season – some would disagree with me, especially in regards to one Ms. Lohan, but if anything, the comedy was top-notch for this show at that point – everything just kind of dropped off, and with the exception of all the YETI drama, the only thing that really got me through was Betty’s relationship with Matt.

But what’s been going on since I last checked in? David Rasche, who will forever be Sledge Hammer to me, came in as Matt’s billionaire father Cal Hartley to save the near-bankrupt Meade Publications and threw everything for a loop, pissing both Daniel and Wilhemina in the process. It’s always tough when you have an owner who knows virtually nothing about fashion and seems to design the magazine around how his dick feels. I guess that rubbed off on Matt early in his life, as we found out episodes earlier that he had been a bit of a he-bitch man-whore. (Cal Hartley, btw, once impregnated Claire Meade, but that’s neither here nor there, as the baby never came to be.)

In other news: you know that Slater-Meade baby that was created inside Christina using Wilhelmina’s egg and dead Bradford’s sperm? Turns out that, after Christina caused some major issues by becoming too attached to the child, the baby is actually hers, as she had relations with her estranged husband right around the same time as the Slater-Meade child was put in her. Hey, shit happens. This in turn led to the much-publicized exit of actress Ashley Jensen, my beloved Scottish lass from Extras, in a respectable bit of non-insanity (which is surprising from this show). I will miss you, dear Ms. Jensen. I can’t wait to see where your career goes next.

And while Marc loses any true upward mobility at YETI, he redeems his earlier vicious ways by having a nice heart-to-heart with young Justin Suarez, who was crushed upon being rejected from LaGuardia High School (a.k.a. the Fame school), only to have Marc tell him that he was also a product of the public school system, and look how fabulous he turned out.

I'm just going to imagine that the mannequin is a physical manifestation of Molly's cancer. It's a lot more interesting that way.

Meanwhile, Daniel Meade has to deal with what I consider a fairly big fail in regards to his story with Molly. I dug the love square that put them together and I really liked Molly herself as a character, but once they finally became a couple, the writers just stopped caring. I understand the need for conflict, but having Molly’s cancer resurface was, in my opinion, lazy and cruel. All you’re really telling us is that Daniel can’t be happy, and when he tries to become a better man, it only hurts everybody else. What kind of message is that? And as the disease ate away at Molly, they threw out any semblance of interest in the character, only redeeming themselves (slightly) with the finale where Daniel pulls a Perry-Cox-On-Scrubs-In-That-Episode-With-Brendan-Fraser and hallucinates Molly being with him at the award show, only to find out that she had died at home that day.

But I’ve been stalling. What the hell happened to Betty? After succeeding considerably at YETI and scoring a junior editing position at a major publication (I forget which), the one and only Bernadette Peters abuses her privilege as Betty’s mentor and steals the job right out from under her. While I feel like the Bern was underused on this show, that was a damn great way to get the Great Red-Haired One out of the show and into that corner of our mind that remembers miniscule details of prime-time soap opera plots a decade down the line. And thus, Betty and Marc begin to battle for an editing job at Mode, thanks to the suicide of the previous reclusive editor Rachel Dratch (in a very bizarre role as identical twins). While Betty gets the job simply based on a coin toss, she has other shit to deal with. That’s right, Henry’s back in town.

It’s not entirely important what led to the big finale, but know this: while Henry came into town (after being involved in that whole crazy murder plot off the coast of Washington over on CBS Saturday nights) he technically had a girlfriend with him there in NY, he still managed to reignite Betty’s loins, or at least long enough to have Matt spy them having a final goodbye makeout session in a random NYC park. And as Betty loses Henry as he leaves town once again, Matt dumps her once and for all. But we’re not done with Matt, not by a longshot, because after all of this emotional wreckage, he has a surprise for her: as his father owns Meade Publications, Matt will now be working at Mode as Betty’s boss. And thus, a romantic interest becomes next season’s big villain, and I will readily admit that I did not see it coming.

So yes. It wasn’t a great season. It really couldn’t recover once Rebecca Romjin left to have her twins, and it’s also a shame that Amanda really wasn’t given much of a story at any point. But I love the way Marc came into his own this year, I liked everything revolving around any member of the Hartley clan, and while I wished that Daniel would be treated more sympathetically as a character, his arc with Molly was good while it lasted.

I’ll see you on Friday nights next season, Ugly Betty, which will hopefully not be your last season despite basically being pushed into a death slot. I wish Dollhouse as much luck as possible opposite you, and as I do not watch either Southland or Medium and cannot really pass judgment, I just hope that enough viewers find your bright and breezy counterprogramming to be a success. (Okay, I could lose Medium from the schedule, but I honestly would rather see all of them succeed, which is certainly a tall order.)

Comes fall, ABC will move Ugly Betty to Friday nights at 9pm which everyone knows its what networks

Comes fall, ABC will move Ugly Betty to Friday nights at 9pm which everyone knows its what networks do when they want a show to fail. I can rant all I want but it isn’t going to change things so I’ll just say this: Fuck you ABC! and move on to last night’s season finale:

Rachel Dratch guest stars

I was surprise at the relatively small quota of guest appearances last night: Rachel Dratch and Antonio Sabato Jr. were the only ones and of course Henry (Christopher Gorham) return, and that was probably my biggest beef with the episode: Betty seem a bit too desperate to get back with Henry after realizing he was back in town and though I understood the purposed (read: create drama) it just didn’t feel quite honest to the character, they could have achieve what they wanted without so much desperation from Betty.

Overall, it was a solid season finale and the first *two hours* ep the show’s ever had. There weren’t as many funny one liners as one would expect, which is the main reason some people watch the show but to me it doesn’t have to always rely on snappy dialogue, it is a dramedy after all and sometimes a more somber mood fits, besides, this show loves killing character’s on its last episode and last night was no exception: Molly finally croaked. You knew it was coming and after her hospital scare last week, there was no doubt she was going to bite the bullet before the show was over. I liked her ghost visiting Daniel while he was making his award speech bit, though I wasn’t a big fan of her *sick* look which basically meant she didn’t have any make up on.

What the episode did more so than any other season finale was set up the next season in a really big way; let see:

Betty and Matt are over (for now) and as she takes her new features editor’s position he becomes her boss, and since she broke his heart that only means he’s going to give her hell, (not like his father’s kind of hell but a more dorkish, trying to be mean but not really kind of hell I’m sure.)

Wilhelmina plans to overturn Claire’s position backfire as you knew they would, compromising her stake at Mode, which sends her on a quest to find Connor, which means he’ll be back.

Speaking of Connor, he may or may not be the unidentified intruder in Wilhelmina’s apartment, or someone else from her shoddy past.

Claire’s new found abortion that never happened. You knew as soon as they said “bastard child” that it only meant said bastard child is going to surface next season to add more drama to the show.

I liked how they have completely incorporated Matt’s family into the show which in turn has given the show a whole new set of story lines that they can run with all of next season. I only hope that now being part of the Friday night graveyard block won’t hurt their chances, if so, hopefully they’ll get to go out in style…no pun intended.

ALTERNATIVE SERIES

“SHARK TANK” From Mark Burnett, executive producer of “Survivor” and “The Apprentice,” and Sony Pictures Television comes “Shark Tank,” an exciting new reality show that gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to make their dreams come true and become successful – and possibly wealthy – business people. But the entrepreneurs must first try to convince five tough, multi-millionaire tycoons to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to jumpstart their ideas. In these trying economic times, it’s difficult for an individual possessing a dream or even a working small business poised for growth to get a loan for a risky venture. Whether it be an imaginative enhancement for an existing product, a family recipe that has all the ingredients to become a profitable culinary treat, or the latest technological gadget that could take the world by storm, most of these dreams die an early death because no one dared take a financial chance on someone with an unproven and oftentimes outrageous proposal. Many of these people now see “Shark Tank” as their last chance at success. Some have been laboring on their ideas for years or even decades, have invested large amounts of money, and are being pressured to throw in the towel by friends and family. Others have simply never had access to the means to live out their dreams, until now. Enter the Sharks of “Shark Tank” – Barbara Corcoran (Manhattan real estate titan), Kevin Harrington (king of infomercials), Robert Herjavec (technology tycoon), Daymond John (fashion mogul) and Kevin O’Leary (venture capitalist) – five multi-millionaires who lifted themselves up by their bootstraps to make their own entrepreneurial dreams come true and turned their ideas into empires. Each week ambitious entrepreneurs from across the country will present their breakthrough business concepts, products, properties and services to the panel of ruthless investors. Their goal is to convince these merciless moguls to invest their own dollars in the concept. Convincing real-life millionaires to part with their own money is no easy task, because when the idea is poor, the Sharks will tear into the ill-prepared presenters and pass on the idea with a simple, “I’m out!” — sending them running for the exit. But these Sharks aren’t just out for blood, they too have a goal: to own a piece of the next big idea. Entrepreneurs will be asked to give up a percentage of their companies’ equity to the Sharks in order to get the investment they need. But when the Sharks hear a really top-notch idea, and more than one of them wants to sink their teeth into it, a war between them will erupt. Then the once-desperate entrepreneur can rejoice when the Sharks reveal their true interest in the product and bid up the price of the investment.

RETURNING SERIES

DRAMA

“BROTHERS & SISTERS” “Brothers & Sisters” continues to follow the California-based Walker family through the complicated maze of American life today. The compelling one-hour drama series is about a collection of five enmeshed and somewhat damaged adult siblings, their spouses and their strong and passionately devoted mother, Nora Holden (Oscar and Emmy Award winner Sally Field). The Walkers’ lives have not been without challenge; romance, parenting, divorce, infidelity, addiction, war, birth and even death have pushed each of them to the limit, but they continue to work toward living their lives as individuals, while loving each other unconditionally and trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy after the loss of their larger-than-life family patriarch, William Walker. “Brothers & Sisters” stars Dave Annable as Justin Walker, Maxwell Perry Cotton as Cooper Whedon, Kerris Lilla Dorsey as Paige, Sally Field as Nora Holden, Calista Flockhart as Kitty Walker, Balthazar Getty as Thomas Walker, Rachel Griffiths as Sarah Whedon, Rob Lowe as Senator Robert McCallister, Sarah Jane Morris as Julia Walker, Matthew Rhys as Kevin Walker, Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden, Emily VanCamp as Rebecca Harper and Patricia Wettig as Holly Harper. He then found out that a real-world killer was staging murder scenes depicted in his novels. Castle was questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a bright and aggressive detective who kept her investigations under tight reins, especially the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother. Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, together Castle and Beckett built on their new relationship investigating more strange homicides in New York – as much fun as one could have with death and murder. In the season finale, Castle, against Beckett’s direct order to stay out of her mom’s case, unearthed information in that homicide which may end his relationship with her forever. Also starring in the series are Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan. “Castle” is produced by ABC Studios. But they discovered that the island holds many secrets, including a mysterious smoke monster, polar bears, housing and hatches with electricity and hot & cold running water, a group of island residents known as “The Others,” and a mysterious man named Jacob. The survivors have also found signs of those who came to the island before them, including a 19th century sailing ship called The Black Rock, a downed Beechcraft plane from a failed drug run, the remains of an ancient statue, as well as bunkers belonging to the Dharma Initiative — a group of scientific researchers who inhabited the island in the recent past. They also encountered a freighter stationed off the island that some thought would lead to their rescue, but ultimately almost caused their extinction.
“UGLY BETTY” In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants are the super thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl from Queens possibly fit in? Sweet, intelligent, hard-working and – undoubtedly – fashion-challenged, Betty Suarez dreams of a successful career in magazine publishing. After taking a job at Mode Magazine, the bible of the fashion industry, Betty’s indomitable spirit and bright ideas win over the respect of her Mode cohorts despite continuous predictions of failure. She thrives in the ultra-competitive environment in spite of her lack of fashion sense. Betty forms an unlikely team with her boss, Daniel Meade, the co-editor in chief of Mode Magazine, as they help one another navigate the choppy waters of NYC’s shark infested fashion scene. Now she must prove that she is not just a super assistant with no fashion sense, but an aspiring career woman and editor-to-be while balancing her tumultuous love life and her family responsibilities. “Ugly Betty” stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Tony Plana as Ignacio, Becki Newton as Amanda, Mark Indelicato as Justin, Michael Urie as Marc and Judith Light as Claire Meade. Based on “Yo Soy Betty La Fea,” the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela that became an international phenomenon, “Ugly Betty” is from ABC Studios.
COMEDY

“BETTER OFF TED” “Better Off Ted” is a satirical office comedy about successful good guy, Ted, who runs research and development at the morally questionable Veridian Dynamics. No achievement is too far-fetched and no invention too unorthodox for Veridian. Need cow-less meat grown in a test tube? Done. Need pumpkins that also double as weapons of mass destruction? No problem. Ted’s a single dad to a seven-year-old girl, and he loves his job, but he’s starting to take a closer look at the company’s extremely dubious practices. Do you manufacture the best teeth whitener ever if it could also kill off all of the planet’s fish? Probably not, but… Ted’s also fighting an attraction to co-worker Linda, who enjoys small acts of rebellion against Veridian (she’s secretly stealing and hoarding all the company’s creamer packets). But he holds back about his true feelings. He’s already had his self imposed “one office affair” with überboss Veronica. Incredibly beautiful (if seemingly devoid of conscience and also emotion-free), Veronica lets nothing get in her way when it comes to serving Veridian’s needs… even if it means doing something like cryogenically freezing an employee for testing purposes. And after all, the employee, research scientist Phil, survived (after he thawed out). So what if he screams like an eagle at the slightest provocation? He and his best friend, fellow research scientist Lem, are both geniuses and when they’re not bickering, they’re responsible for many of Veridian’s miracles of weird science. “Better Off Ted” stars Jay Harrington as Ted, Portia de Rossi as Veronica, Andrea Anders as Linda, Jonathan Slavin as Phil, Malcolm Barrett as Lem and Isabella Acres as Rose. “Better Off Ted” is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. Victor Fresco (“My Name Is Earl,” “Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) is executive producer and creator of the series.

“SCRUBS” This irreverent and offbeat comedy received two consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2005 and 2006, and was named TV.com’s “Best of 2007” in Comedy. “Scrubs” focuses on the unique point of view of Dr. John Dorian, or “J.D.” (Zach Braff). After surviving his internship and residency, and year as an attending physician with his own class of unmanageable interns at Sacred Heart Hospital, J.D. is moving on to greener pastures. He continues to face many challenges in his personal and professional life trying to balance his roles as doctor, father to Sam, devoted live-in boyfriend and friend to his very quirky companions at Sacred Heart. In its debut year, “Scrubs” was nominated for two Emmy Awards and a People’s Choice Award. It has received a total of 16 Emmy nominations, and it won an Emmy for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing in 2005 and another for Outstanding Sound Mixing in 2007. In 2004 the series was honored with a prestigious Humanitas Prize. Beginning that same year, it received three consecutive Producers Guild Award nominations, from 2004-2006. “Scrubs” is produced by ABC Studios. Bill Lawrence (“Spin City”) is the executive producer and creator.

“EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION” Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The show has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program, plus the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show/Makeover and the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program. Each episode is self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house – every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping. The lives of the lucky families are forever changed when they learn that they’ve been selected to have their home walls moved, their floors replaced and even their facades radically changed. The result should be a decorator’s delight… if it can be done in time. The design team includes team leader Ty Pennington, with designers Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol, John Littlefield, Rib Hillis and Didiayer Snyder. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The executive producer is Anthony Dominici (“America’s Next Top Model,” “The Amazing Race”).

“SUPERNANNY” “Supernanny” is in its fifth season with Jo Frost criss-crossing America, taking on some of its toughest parenting challenges. She can tame the wildest toddler, soothe the savage six-year-old and get the most difficult child to overcome problems with behavior, sleep, mealtime, potty training and other challenges that have vexed parents around the world for centuries. The series debuted in America in early 2005 and captivated the country with Jo’s practical, no-nonsense style, honed over 20 years of nannying. “Supernanny” is now an international phenomenon; it airs in 172 territories, almost all of them with Frost as Supernanny. The series has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award. Nick Powell is the creator and executive producer of both the American and British versions of the show. Nick Emmerson and Stephanie Schwam are executive producers of the American version. “Supernanny” is produced by Shed Media US.

“TRUE BEAUTY” What makes a person truly beautiful? From executive producers Tyra Banks (“The Tyra Banks Show,” “America’s Next Top Model”) and Ashton Kutcher (executive producer of “Punk’d” and “Beauty and the Geek”), beauty is redefined in the popular ABC series “True Beauty.” Gorgeous female and handsome male contestants assume they’re being judged solely on their outer appearance, but they’re only half right; outer beauty is just one component the judges are looking for. Contestants, unbeknownst to them, are also being evaluated for their INNER beauty as they’re tested in challenging situations that require them to make moral decisions. Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants’ behavior and eliminate one person each week. Only after someone is eliminated will the truth about the show be revealed to him/her, as they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera during the shoot. At the end of eight episodes, one winner will be declared, a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. That person will receive a cash prize and a spot in PEOPLE magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People issue. Executive producers of “True Beauty” are Denise Cramsey (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”), Tyra Banks and Laura Armstrong for Bankable Productions, and Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke and Rod Aissa for Katalyst Productions. The series is a production of Warner Horizon Television.

“WIFE SWAP” Each week two very contradictory families from across the country participate in a two-week-long challenge: The wives exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover daily life in another woman’s shoes. This astonishing experiment repeatedly changes lives and redefines families. In the first week of the swap, the wives move in and adopt their new family’s lifestyle, no matter how different it may be. They agree to follow a manual written by the departing wife that sets out the rules of their new household – how they parent, shop, do the house work, manage their budgets and their social life. In the second week, everything changes. The new wives take charge. They introduce their own set of rules and get to run the new household their way. It’s a radical shock to both families. The results are explosive, enlightening, emotional and often comical. At the end of the show, the two couples meet for the first time. In a highly-charged exchange of views, both couples make a frank assessment of each other and talk about what they’ve learned from the experience. “Wife Swap” is an RDF USA production. The show was created by Stephen Lambert and is executive-produced by Mike Gamson, and Michael Davies of Embassy Row (“Who Wants to be a Millionaire”). Neil Regan, Julie Cooper and Will Nothacker are co-executive producers.

“20/20” ABC News’ acclaimed series “20/20” has distinguished itself as one of the most esteemed news programs in broadcast journalism. Amid the heated, competitive environment of primetime entertainment, “20/20” has demonstrated its ability to consistently attract a significant segment of the viewing audience by offering viewers more choices and more chances to learn about the world around them. For over three decades, “20/20” has continued to combine hard-hitting investigative reports, newsmaker interviews and compelling human interest and feature stories that have changes lives. The program is co-anchored by the broadcast team of Elizabeth Vargas and John Stossel, both award-winning journalists.

During the interview Eric talked about the morning that his wife went into labor and the chaos that ensued when they tried to cab it to the hospital. Like a scene from a sitcom, the couple rushed to catch an NYC cab — only to have it run out of gas en route to the hospital!

“We had to pull over to the side of the highway,” Eric tells Life & Style.

“The driver got out and started waving his hands to hail another cab.”

Thankfully, the couple was able to make it to the hospital in time for the birth of 10 pound, 3 ounce Rylan Jaxson. (WOW!)

In the five months since, Rylan’s put on around 9 pounds. “When he came out, he was so big, he looked like a toddler,” Eric, 38, says with a laugh. “It was wild.”

The couple still hasn’t decided whether a third is in the cards,

“We each come from two-children families,” Eric explains. “We think it’s a good, round number.” And a whole lot of work besides. “Two kids are definitely more work than one,” he says. “But they’re only going to be this age once. I don’t want to miss anything.”

“EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION”
Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The show has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program, plus the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Reality

Show/Makeover and the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program.

“GREY’S ANATOMY”
“Grey’s Anatomy” is the recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and multiple Emmy nominations, including two for Outstanding Drama Series.

The doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital deal with life-or-death consequences on a daily basis – it’s in one another that they find comfort, friendship and, at times, more than friendship. Together they’re discovering that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Real life only comes in shades of grey.

“Grey’s Anatomy” stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Katherine Heigl as Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, T.R. Knight as George O’Malley, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres, Eric Dane as Mark Sloan, Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey and Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt.

“LOST”
After Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, its survivors were forced to find inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against all odds if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their journey, nothing is what it seems, and danger and mystery loom behind every corner, with even those they thought could be trusted turning against them. Even heroes have secrets.

“Lost” stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Henry Ian Cusick as Desmond, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Michael Emerson as Ben, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Ken Leung as Miles, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet and Terry O’Quinn as Locke.

“PRIVATE PRACTICE”
From Shonda Rhimes, the Golden Globe-winning creator of “Grey’s Anatomy,” comes a story about finding a way to begin the rest of your life. Addison Forbes Montgomery is a renowned neonatal surgeon at the pinnacle of her profession. Having left behind Seattle Grace Hospital and a broken marriage, Addison has moved to Los Angeles for sunnier weather and happier possibilities. Now reunited with her friends from medical school, Naomi and Sam Bennett, Addison has joined their co-op practice at Oceanside Wellness Group in Santa Monica. The practice’s resident pediatrician is Dr. Cooper Freedman, Dr. Pete Wilder is the alternative medicine specialist, psychiatrist Dr. Violet Turner and office manager/nurse, William Dell Parker, round out the tightly knit group of professionals. The doctors of Oceanside work together to find solutions to their patients’ needs, but along the way they encounter medical cases that challenge their ethical and moral ideals and their abilities as doctors. For Addison, an old friend’s invitation has brought her to a new city and a new life full of promise – now it’s up to her to take chances in dating and find her place in this new medical environment. At Oceanside Wellness Group, the doctors are dedicated pros; it’s their private lives that need a little practice.

“Private Practice” stars Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, Tim Daly as Dr. Pete Wilder, Audra McDonald as Dr. Naomi Bennett, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman, KaDee Strickland as Dr. Charlotte King, Chris Lowell as William Dell Parker, with Taye Diggs as Dr. Sam Bennett and Amy Brenneman as Dr. Violet Turner.

“SUPERNANNY”
“Supernanny” is in its fifth season with Jo Frost criss-crossing America, taking on some of its toughest parenting challenges.

“UGLY BETTY”
In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants are the super thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl from Queens possibly fit in? Sweet, intelligent, hard-working and – undoubtedly — fashionably challenged, Betty Suarez dreams of a successful career in magazine publishing. After taking a job at Mode Magazine, the bible of the fashion industry, Betty’s indomitable spirit and bright ideas wins over the respect of her Mode cohorts despite continuous predictions of failure. She thrives in the ultra-competitive environment in spite of her lack of fashion sense. Betty forms an unlikely team with her boss, Daniel Meade, the co-editor in chief of Mode

Magazine, as they help one another navigate the choppy waters of NYC’s shark infested fashion scene. Now she must prove that she is not just a super assistant with no fashion sense, but an aspiring career woman and editor-to-be while balancing her tumultuous love life and her familial responsibilities.

“Ugly Betty” stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Tony Plana as Ignacio, Ashley Jensen as Christina, Becki Newton as Amanda, Mark Indelicato as Justin, Michael Urie as Marc and Judith Light as Claire Meade.

“WIFE SWAP”
Each week two very contradictory families from across the country participate in a two-week-long challenge: The wives exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover daily life in another woman’s shoes. This astonishing experiment repeatedly changes lives and redefines families.

In the first week of the swap, the wives move in and adopt their new family’s lifestyle no matter how different it may be.

According to Variety Ugly Betty will return earlier than planned thanks to the disappointing numbers of Motherhood and Samantha at ABC. Instead of the May 7 return we now get our favorite chubb back on April 30. Y’all may rejoice. I know I am. I missed the Scottish lady, that will leave the show at the end of the season, and the comedy duo of gay guy Mark St. James and crazy fashion victim Amanda.

But wait, there is more. On top of getting one of ABC’s topliners back early we also have some interesting casting news.

Okay, the less exciting one first. Ausiello writes “that polar-opposite View hostesses Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck will play themselves in the May 21 season finale. Here’s the set-up: Daniel is invited to appear as a guest to discuss the latest issue of Mode magazine… or so he thinks. The ladies quickly turn the tables and start grilling him about his dying girlfriend.”

Now onto the interesting one. Guess who’s back? HENRY! Yes, Betty’s Henry will make an appearance in the season finale. If you were wondering what the “Ugly” is doing in the series title just wait til you hear Ausiello’s scoop:

“Betty runs into Henry and his new girlfriend Chloe (played by Gossip Girl’s Dream Walker) in the Big Apple. To prove to themselves that they’ve moved on, Betty and Henry agree to go on a double date to a Mets game with their respective significant others. Good times, right? Not exactly…”

Could get “Ugly” indeed. I can’t wait.

The Husband:

So right now, ABC’s Ugly Betty is on a mini-hiatus in order to allow Samantha Who? to finish its second season, as well as let In The Motherhood go through its entire six-episode first season. (Taking the FOX model of trying out six eps of a sitcom is actually pretty smart business, even if it is for a show that I keep accidentally calling Notes from the Underbelly, which is probably not a good sign.) This allowed me to catch up on the four backlogged Betty episodes that were sitting on my DVR, a pretty simple task considering how easy the show it to watch. But what’s been keeping me invested in this show, and, likewise, what issues do I have with the mini-run?

Matt

I love Matt. I think he’s a great foil for Betty, his relation to her industry allows for a type of romantic interaction missing from her Henry/Gio triangle (Henry worked at Meade, yes, but he was an accountant, so that doesn’t really count.) I think he’s a sweetheart, I think his bits of inner turmoil are entirely founded, and I like the way he is treated like an actual human being and not just a character cipher. When we last checked in on this blog, all we knew was that Matt was a sports journalist and cared very little about fashion. Now, we know he’s actually not only the heir to a disgustingly huge fortune, but he has so many notches on his bedpost that…some clever analogy. (Shut up! This is Ugly Betty.) And now, I think that he’s the best beau ever for Betty. Sorry, Gio fans, but I’m really pulling for Matt to become a major regular. Agree or disagree?

I think we need to talk about this obsession everyone has with this Gio person.

Christine Baranski

As Matt’s overbearing, snobbish and protective mother, Ms. Baranski fell right back into her glorious comfort zone after that appearance on The Big Bang Theory, which still annoys me to no end. She was completely miscast there. Here, she may be typecast, but it’s that wonderful kind of typecasting where it works perfectly. I desire more of her.

Ralph Macchio

He returned in a big way, finally bedding Hilda when she realizes that his clean-cut city councilman image may just be a cover for a badder boy underneath. Between this and Beer League and My Cousin Vinny, as well as his appearance on Broadway as J. Pierrepont Finch in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (taking over for Matthew Broderick when he left the cast in the mid-90s), I don’t know why he doesn’t get more active work, or why he’s barely in films anymore. He still looks effortlessly young, still has the comic timing learned from Mr. Miyagi, and yet still looks like he came from the downtrodden wrong side of the tracks. It’s a good combo. Why can’t he be the “best friend” in an Ed Burns movie?

Bernadette Peters

She was used for about 45 seconds in one episode of the four. This is not proper usage of The Bern. Ultimate fail, UB.

Connor & Molly

So after all that love square madness between Connor, Molly, Daniel and Wilhelmina, Connor just suddenly decides to just up and leave in one episode, suddenly desiring to embezzle money from Meade Publications as well as try to steal Willy’s baby and leave the country. This twist came out of nowhere, was not in tune with the rest of his character, and made little to no sense. All it did was save the money it would take to pay the actor to show up to work. That’s the only thing I can figure out. It’s a shame that UB is having trouble keeping story arcs going this season, because the fact that they get completely abandoned every four episodes or so makes me not want to invest as much energy in this series as I assume they’d like. And giving Molly borderline inoperable cancer has, so far, been completely pointless as well. But at least she only disappeared for one episode and came back. The same can’t be said for Connor, despite showing up for a few seconds in a dream sequence.

Steven R. Schirripa

Eh, get a load of this guy here, eh?

Between his appearance here as a competitive TV chef, SLOTAT’s Sausage King and his TV food show that I’ve never heard of (thanks Wikipedia!), Steven R. Schirripa has effectively changed his typecast from mob family comic relief (Casino and The Sopranos) into being the go-to guy for any role revolving around food. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a shift like this, so it’s good that he’s a very amicable actor, both onscreen and on talk shows. It’s tough to not love that face.

Christina

I know that actress Ashley Jensen is on her way out at the end of the season and they have something big planned for her character, but that doesn’t mean that giving her about five lines over four episodes is allowable. She’s definitely in the top three best characters of the show, but you wouldn’t know it from the scripts. Fail.

Matt pops a box into Betty’s hand. It’s a gold bee hairclip, he got it for her in honor

Matt pops a box into Betty’s hand. It’s a gold bee hairclip, he got it for her in honor of the month anniversary. They were going to kiss by the door when Papi opened the door and busted them out of the way. Haha, that was funny. Papi and Justin are going on a trip to the Poconos in a cabin. Wow, Justin’s REALLY going to love that.

Archie drops off Hilda at the back door and goes in for a kiss but she gives him the cheeck. Then Papi busts through the back door into Archie’s head. Haha, that’s funny too. He should have karate chopped Papi! Hilda wasn’t very enthusiastic about her date with Archie.

Justin shows up and asks if he REALLY has to go to the Poconos. He’s not excited about it.

Willy is trying to fall asleep to late night infomercials when she hears someone singing “You Are My Sunshine.” She thinks it’s Connor. She opens her doors and sees Connor singing to her baby. Its a dream sequence. She wakes up alone and looks at her lonely baby.

Mode is producing the first ever “Sex Issue.” They want to get new advertisers and keep the old ones to get people talking. Willy is yawning during the meeting. I love that “round table” they have for meetings. Marc tells Willy that the Olsen twins want her to be in their next coffee table book. Willy appears to be sleeping with her eyes open. He screams she’s dead! She said she was taking a nap. She says she lies awake all night feeling so tense. She says she can’t take a sleeping pill because of that damn baby and that she needs help. He hugs her and says he’s here for her. She meant she wanted him to hire a night nanny. Marc asks if there’s any other night needs that aren’t being met?

Betty wants to do an article on the Modern Day Dating Rituals, something less personal. Betty tells Amanda that Matt is into normal things, she thinks. Betty reveals that her and Matt have not slept together. Amanda is shocked, she asks Betty what the hell she’s waiting for. Betty’s such a little nerd, its so cute!

Betty tells Hilda that tonight might be the night with Matt. Hilda says some guys need more of a push and asks to see her bra. Papi is packing up the entire care. Justin complains he can’t bring a blowdryer. Papi tells him there’s no electricity. Betty tells Papi she’s going to stay in the city tonight.

Molly asks Daniel about what he thinks of her doing a poetry performance. He laughs until he realizes she’s serious. Daniel says that’s brave, and he’d never go up and perform infront of people. He’s scarred from a band performance in highschool. He was laughed off the stage.

Betty and Matt kiss at the end of their date in the street. Matt wonders if he should get a cab. Betty thinks she could come upstairs and see his new wallcolour. But Matt hastily shoves her into a taxi. He’s gay. She’s his hag, it’s decided. The taxi driver chucked and said “that guy couldn’t get rid of you fast enough.” Haha.

Archie calls Hilda an hour after the date to see if she had a good time. Betty hates how Hilda has been complaining about how obsessed Archie is with her. Betty thinks Hilda should just break up with him then. Betty told Hilda what happened with the date. Hilda wondered if he just misinterpreted her signals, since she’s subtle.

Amanda says “Never be subtle.” Betty wonders if a girl is just supposed to come out and say it, “I…want…you.” Betty says she’s can’t do that. Amanda says she’ll personally teach Betty to be sexy, well, as sexy as “this” can be. Amanda says it’ll be great for their article.

Betty is excited about going to a poetry slam to see Molly read. Betty reads a piece of poetry that Daniel gives her and suggests she read it. Betty says that Molly’s poem is very intimate. Daniel thought it was about an ocean. Betty helps him interpret it. Daniel is not happy about this.

Amanda takes Betty back to their old place. Marc shows up for “Betty Sexification.” Betty says she thought it would be just them girls. Amanda says it is. Marc says they only have two hours, they need to work fast and furious. This is so funny. Amanda tells Betty to makesure that he knows her lips are open and ready for business. Oh my. These two are so funny. Amanda asks if the braces can come off. Marc wants the glasses off. Amanda hands Betty a ladel. She asks what it’s for, and Amanda says “you’ll know when it happens.” Oh god!

Willy is in bed and hears snoring so she picks up a bat. She sees a man looking under the couch for a binky. It’s not nanny, it’s a “manny.” And a REALLY hot piece of manny. The manny said he was reading a book and got a little carried away. He wasn’t snoring he was growling…haha. Grrr tiger! Willy stares at his behind before leaving. Who sleeps in full makeup?

Hilda and Archie are out, and Archie keeps telling her how pretty she looks in the light. This trashy blond comes up to Archie, and tells Hilda that they were neighbours. The blond insists that they were more than that, and that the biggest mistake she made was letting him through her fingers. Wow, Hilda will probably like him now that other women are interested. Some women are comeptitive that way.

Daniel was editing Molly’s poetry. He wants to sound less “soft and caressing”, and more “hard and crashing.” Haha. He tells her the poem is about them having sex and he’s shy that she’ll read it in public, he’s going to be embarrassed. She said she’ll just read something else.

The trashy blond joins their table and caresses Archie’s leg. This is awkward. Archie apologizes for her. Hilda grabs his hand and is like “I know! We’re on a date here!” Now she likes him. Haha.

Matt arrives at Amanda’s apartment, and Betty shows up in something black and all seductively. In the way that she can be. She looks like a naughty librarian.

Matt tells Betty she looks great, but the movie’s starting soon. Betty wants to stay in tonight and relax. Her hair looks good like that. She made mojitos and asks if he wants one. Betty is on the prowl! Betty starts tickling Matt’s nose with a feather. He sneezes and insists they go to the movies. She takes off her glasses, and looks like a completely different person. She goes in to kiss him. He gets up to leave and says he can’t do this. It’s not her, it’s him. Yeah, he’s gay?

Hilda is ontop of Archie in post-coital bliss in her salon. Archie said he thought she was going to break up with him. She said she was, but that girl showed up and changed her mind. He realizes that Hilda just liked him cause another woman was into her. He says that’s pretty complicated foreplay. He’s not happy about it, so he leaves.

At Mode, Willy confronts Marc about Manny Poppins. He says that he set her up with a model for her sex life. Willy says that Manny Poppins can stay for now. Betty tells Marc and Amanda how it didn’t work, and blamed herself. Marc says “running away from a girl screaming, sounds like my prom night.” Then Marc realizes that he could be gay. Or a virgin. Or a woman. Amanda says to march over to his office and give him a piece of her mind. Betty says she’s going to do that exactly. Marc says right after she buys them lunch. Haha. They’re at Matt’s building and see him leave. They realize he’s not working through lunch and they follow him. OMG, what if he’s a sex addit! and he’s going to a Sex Addict Anonymous. And that’s why he’s dating Betty, so he won’t be “tempted.” They see him wave at a blond and hug her! They automatically assume he’s two-timing Betty!

Betty says there must be an explanation for this, Betty steps up and Matt sees her and asks her what she’s doing there. Amanda and Marc leisurely walk by. Betty says she didn’t mean to follow him, she was just confused with last night, and says if he’s with “her.” It’s fine. The blond introduces herself as Helen, his therapist. The therapists asks Betty to join them. Wow, awkward. Betty says she’s not sure what to say. Betty says it’s his fault, cause she pushed him into something he didn’t want to do. Matt says he is attracted to her, but… Betty guesses if he’s a virgin, but matt says he’s been with women…a LOT, a REALLY lot. Matt says it must sound wierd. The therapist says that in the past Matt uses sex as a way to connect with people. So Matt made a contract with Helen that he wouldn’t have sex with someone unless he truly had feelings for them. matt says he feels calm now, he’s glad it’s out in the open. Helen asks Betty how she feels. Betty says “Great.”

Later Betty tells Daniel about it. Daniel calls him a dog! Haha. Betty says she’s going to the poetry reading, but Daniel says she’s not going to read about their sex life to everyone. Betty says that his sex life has always been on display. Betty says that Molly is brave enough to stand up to strangers and tell them how much she loves him, and he should be brave enough to show him.

Betty is surprised that Hilda called Archie back and apologized. Betty does NOT want to talk about sex tonight. Hilda says that Betty is important. Betty feels like she’s now “one of hundreds” and doesn’t feel very special. The trashy blond comes in and tells Hilda to back off Archie, her man. Hilda tells her she can’t have him. They get into it. The blond also pours wax over one of hilda’s wig heads. Betty gets between them. Archi shows up and asks what the hell is going on.

Willy sees Manny Poppins with the baby and gets all seductive. She starts a fire and sexin’ music comes on. Her hair is supposed to look tousled, but it just looks bad. Manny Poppins has spit up on his shirt, Willy tells him to take it off, she’ll wash it. WOW. He takes his shirt off and she’s like “thank YOU.”

At poetry night, Betty and Matt are there and a girl waves at Matt. Betty asks who that is, Matt says its just a girl from a coffee place near his building, and THAT’S ALL, if that’s what he’s looking for.

Manny Poppins is singing “You Are My Sunshine” to Willy’s damn baby. Willy then starts crying.

Back at the poetry reading, Daniel tells Molly to read her original poem about the two of them. She seems very delighted in this.

Manny Poppins is consoling Willy with his big comforting naked chest. Willy says she doesn’t want to let it out, she just wants to have sex. Willy tells him to take his pants off. Manny says that she needs to close the door on Connor and concentrate on her baby. She thanks him and says she thinks he really helped her. Willy then fires him, since they won’t be having sex. She’s such a witch!

Betty started seeing all the girls in the room with numbers on their shirts. Like Matt’s numbers. Uh oh! Betty’s being a man! It’s not like she put up a flag, he’s been places before her.

Hilda sees Archie, and he finally got rid of the trashy blond. He asks what’s going on. He thought he wasn’t her type. Hilda says her “type” hasn’t worked out with her so well. She wanted to see what it would be like to be with a nice guy. He thinks he has a type too, the “bad girls.” She says he loved it, two girls going at it over him. He admits it was really hot. So they’re giving each other another chance. He says he’s not always such a nice guy and goes into kiss her. Then Papi busts in the front door. The man has timing!

Betty walks away to get a cab, Matt invites her back to his place to see his wallcolour. Betty says she doesn’t know and admits to being freaked out. Betty says she feels like a number. He says “You are. Number one.” Matt says it’d be the first time he’s been with a woman he REALLY cared about, so technically she is his first. That’s how he charmed 100 other girls into bed. That and droppin’ some bills.

Molly gets up and sees the pic of Daniel from his highschool battle of the bands incident. So Daniel plays her the song that he sang. So romantic!

Willy is asleep and smiles at her damn baby. Archie and Hilda cuddle while watching TV. Betty and Matt run through the streets. Daniel’s song is kinda cheesy, but its good. Its the way he’s singing that’s bad. Matt and Betty go to Matt’s apartment…..we know what happens. Betty better make sure she “double up! huh!”

Ugly Betty

Season: 3

Episode: 16

Episode Title: Mother of a Problem

Betty invites Matt over to their house for breakfast. Did he stay the night? Nurse Naughty did. Betty says she has to meet Daniel at the office on a Saturday. Betty and Matt are going to a Rangers game. Matt is going for work, and Betty owes him. Matt says there’s a lot of boobs in Mode. Hilda says moms love Betty. Matt says his mom is dying to meet Betty. Justin asks Matt how rich IS he. The councilman (Archie) is Hilda’s new client. NurseNaughty and Betty tells Hilda he’s cute and he likes her. She’s not interested.

Daniel says that Molly is crazy that she doesn’t think Derek Jeter is a good looking guy. She hates that he has to go to work on a Saturday. Oooh, Betty is wearing pants, she loks bad in them. She’s a skirt girl. Her shoes are nice though. Not for a Rangers game though. Willy looks great as usual. Her and Daniel are a real team now. They really know each other well. She knows about his upper lip sweat when he gets nervous. He says its water. He washed his face! They’re having trouble paying photographers. The photographer says he can go down to Vanity Fair if they can’t pay. Daniel says it’ll have to come out of their pockets, and he can cover this. Willy says they can split it. She has this, no problem. She looks conflicted.

Betty shows up at Matt’s apartment building. Matt’s mother shows up, Betty says she’s Betty. She thinks Betty is the “help.” Then Betty tells her she’s dating Matt. She’s liek “oh, really.” through gritted teeth. Matt shows up and introduces them. Silence. Matt’s mom is played by the wonderful Christine Baranski! Love her! I wonder heard about this role from Judith Light’s “Sitcom-stars-of-the-90’s” Book Club? Haha.

Betty freaks at Matt that his mom thought she was the maid! Matt says he was hiding her from Betty! Betty says moms love her. Matt just didn’t want to put her through the Victoria Hartley (his mom) taste test. Betty says she has to go through it, it matters if his mom likes her. Betty wants to see his mom again. His mom is having a party on Friday night, Matt invites her. Betty’s really happy about it. Matt tells her she’s the best!

Willy is selling her posessions. Marc asks her if that isn’t one rung up from starring in her own reality show. Haha. He has the best lines. Marc asks her why she just can’t ask one of her rich friends. Willy says she doens’t want to owe those people, her company, her money. Marc cries when she finalizes the deal for selling her things. She tells him he can try on the sable one last time. He stops crying.

Amanda wants to know about the party that Betty is going to on Friday. Amanda tells her that a few more moves, and she’s in gold-digger hall of fame. Betty denies being a gold digger. Well, she’s not! Willy tells someone she’s having afternoon caviar and champage. Marc brings in almonds. She asks Marc what it is. He says they can’t afford her stuff in their new budget, and reminds her she wanted to make sacrifices. Marc tries to choke back an almond. Well, at least Willy can lose weight by not eating? She should be happy.

Daniel and Molly are talking to a doctor, and he tells her there’s only a small chance his treatments will work, but there is a chance, but it’s small. Daniel tells them they’re in. Molly wants time to think about it. Mrs. Meade talks to Betty about the fancy party for this Friday. She asks what the topic is. Betty says she doesn’t know what the topic is. She tells Betty to call the house and ask one of the maids what the topic is. Mrs. Meade talks to “Consuela.” She puts Betty on to talk in Spanish to the maid. The maid tells her the topic is torture. Claire Meade tells her that’s obvious! Why do we get the feeling there’s a broken-telephone situation here?

Marc tells Willy that he heard that Willy has been selling off her clothes willy nilly. And that Willy has been eating nuts and soda water. It’s on the fashion news. They’re mocking Willy. Marc says she has no idea how it got out, he swears he didn’t tell anyone. Marc says there’s a mole somewhere, and he’ll find it. Willy tells him to cancel her calls and meetings, she’s done for the day. She’s pissed.

Betty is going over the topic of “torture.” Justin winces her into a tight outfit, and tells her torture is necessary for this outfit. NurseNaughty and Papi invited the Councellor Archie over. OMG! It’s Ralph Macchio. (V: “…Wait a minute…isn’t that The Karate Kid!) He’s not that good looking, but alright. Kinda a better looking version of Marc Anthony. The singer, not the historical figure.

Marc goes to Willy’s apartment with the auction house people for the pick-up. He searches her place for her, opens her bedroom door and finds her lying in furs and diamonds holding onto them. Provocative.

Hilda is not happy about being setup on this little dinner date. Ignacio is cooking. Archie says he eats Chinese Takeout in his kitchen. Papi and NurseNaughty are really pouring it on! Justin passes Hilda a glass of red wine and says “Mom, here’s your medication.” Haha. I need some meds right about now. Betty’s outfit is crazy, but I actualy really like it. Its quiet fashionable loking. Matt tells her she looks beautiful. Victoria jokes that she won’t ask Betty to bring up her bags tonight! Haha. One of the rich guys comes up to Matt, and Matt tells Betty he has an S&M Dungeon in the bottom of his house. Haha! Victoria announces dinner is served. She is going to announce a piece of art in the collection in her living room that will be featured in the Louvre. There’s some kind of wrapper or food on it, and everyone gasps in horror! Betty looks guilty! What happened? Did I miss something?

Victoria asks what an appetizer is doing on her painting. Betty says something, but Matt interjects and blames himself for it. Victoria says if the artist were alive, he’d get a good laugh, but he’s dead, which is why it’s so VALUABLE! How did that happen? Victoria mutters to Betty it’s not like Matt to do something like that, she guesses she brings out his “playful” side.

Marc and Willy lie in her furs, she said she can’t oart with them, but she needs the money. Marc takes pictures of her on his cell phone and says he hates seeing her like this. Marc says it kills him too, he hates living without HER luxuries. Willy says she came from nothing and accomplished something. Marc reminds her her father was a senator. The auction house woman is there, she tells Marc to take it all. She is in her undies and asks Marc if he likes what he sees. He says yes! And she says “well, get used to it, cause Mama is downsizing!” And Marc is like “but not where it COUNTS!” Haha!

Molly reminds Daniel she’s dying and that treatments probably won’t work. That RIGHT NOW is their future. Daniel says he’ll be right by her side through all of this. Molly says she knows how she wants to live the rest of her life and its not like this. Its a hard decision to make.

So Archie is telling tales about his job, and Hilda looks really bored, but everyone else finds it interesting. Ignacio tells him he hopes they can make the meal a habit. Hilda says sure, she wishes he could come all the time. Sarcastically. I think he’s onto it.

Matt is sitting separate from Betty, cause Victoria says she placed the name cards a long time ago. Wow.

Archie asks Hilda how awkward this is for her when they’re together alone. Hilda apologizes. Archie says it happens all the time. Archie says he’s a catch. Archie tells her her eyes have a story to tell and he has his whole life. Hilda recognizes that’s a Justin Timberlake song. He jokes that she’s glad she recognized it, or that would have been lame! haha. Yeah….

Victoria is talking whilst Matt and Betty are texting. The topic is NOT torture, it’s “The Future of Opera.” Victoria asks Betty if she can start off. Victoria puts her on the spot. Betty looks terrified! Here’s a suggestion, if you don’t know anything about Opera and don’t like it…then maybe your opinion should be that there IS NO future for Opera, in your opinon. Hahaha. Who deigns a topic of discussion at a dinner party? Is this a board game? Do these people not have enough to say?

Betty says her experience with Opera is not so vast, so her opinion is not well formed. Matt texts her about some Mode photoshoot about Opera. Betty says Opera is like fashion, and art. She gives a really good answer. The guests say its the most succinct and insightful piece of criticism that he’s ever heard. She tells people she works at Mode. One of them says they love Mode. Betty compares Opera to Couture. Nice save Matt!

Councilman leaves. NurseNaughty and Papi leave so that Archie can say goodbye to Hilda specifically. Hilda says subtlety doesn’t run in their genes. He says this is where he’s supposed to ask her out. He says he’d love to take her out on a date. He tells Papi that he asked her out and she said yes.

Willy and Daniel get that photographer that they wanted. Wily says she did what she wanted. Daniel tells her that he’s not trying to muscle her out, that life is short. Willy makes fun of him for being philosophical.

Back at the Party…Victoria comes up to Betty and asks Betty where she went to college. She asks Betty if she was the first person to go, Betty says yes. Victoria tells her she’s ambitious. She tells her that Matthew went to Yale and speaks 3 languages, and also plays piano. She asks Betty what her and Matt have in common. Betty says loads. Victoria tells her she has high hopes for her son and she expects him to take advantage of all of his oppotunities. Victoria tells her that she hopes she enjoyed her meal, but they don’t think the’ll be seeing her again. Wow. Poor Betty!

Betty searches for her coat to leave. Matt asks her if she’s cold. Betty tells him what her mother says. Betty asks him what if it’s right. Betty says it’s too much for her. He says he wants both of them, he wants this relationship to have a future. Matt tells his mom he’s not saying goodbye to her, but Betty and him are leaving. He says goodnight mother, he’s leaving with his girlfriend. WOW! Way to stand up to your mother! I’m shocked. I thought he’d willy out a bit.

Marc rolls into Willy’s office with her lunch, its almonds and soda water again. Marc asks if he’s okay. Willy says she’ll kill Marc and eat him if he took a picture. Willy says that daniel helped her. Marc says “Really, Boy Blunder?” And Willy says she’s going to be like Molly and she’s going to live her life until she dies! She pulls away some champagne and caviar.

Daniel tells Betty about Molly. Daniel says he’s done everything right, and for the first time he’s really in love and does not want to lose her. Betty tells him that Molly’s just trying to give him the time she DOES have left. Betty says sometimes you can’t have more, you just have to take what you can get.

Betty talks to Claire Meade. Betty tells her how it went down. Claire tells Betty she’s never going to win that woman over. Claire tells her to grow up cause not everyone is going to like her. Claire tells her she can throw it back at her!

Daniel comes in and grabs a snowball out the window, and throws it at her in the gayest throw I’ve ever seen. Daniel says they will just do whatever she wants, just live life to the fullest. Daniel tells her he wants to go play in the snow.

Betty calls Matt and tells her that she’s here. Mrs. Hartley meets her at the bottom of the building. She tells Betty that Matt’s moving back to his old apartment. VIctoria says she won’t change herself, and Betty says neither will she. Betty says she might be around for a while. Result!
