Ja jeg vet, jeg har vært forferdelig lenge borte. Sist jeg ga lyd fra meg så klaget jeg over forkjølelse, lykkelig uvitende om at jeg noen dager etter virkelig skulle få ting å klage over. Det har skjedd en tragedie i vennekretsen min. To gode venner av meg mistet brått sitt eldste barn den 1. November. Så det har vært en tung tid, håndarbeid og blogging har måttet vike for tunge tanker og en følelse av uvirkelighet.

Nå tenkte jeg altså å blogge litt igjen, har har faktisk fått tilbakemeldinger om at folk venter på nye innlegg.

Derfor skal jeg vise frem litt av julegavene jeg har laget. Kan ikke legge ut alle enda naturligvis, og i tillegg har jeg flere prosjekter på gang eller som er nesten ferdige.

Dette er en Tripp Trapp lue, som jeg har funnet oppskrift på her.  Har et bilde til av denne på hodet til Min Trofaste Luemodell:

Så har jeg heklet en drøss av luene “mine”. Har brukt både Cortina og Eskimo, og heklenål nr 8:

Pusen skjønte ikke helt greia med den lua ser det ut til.

Prøvde meg på et par heklede votter, ut i fra eget hode. Disse er tovet, og har en usannsynlig lang tommel. Men jeg gir dem bort likevel, for det er så fine farger på dem

Har blitt noen pannebånd også, raske og enkle gaver. Populære blant fjortisene er de også.

Ja, så har jeg faktisk ikke glemt strikkekunsten helt, oppi all heklingen. Strikket et par tøfler i Eskimo, etter oppskrift fra Drops. Har heklet to lilla blomster, men har ikke festet dem ennå.

Nei jeg har ikke klumpfot, jeg bare bøyer foten på en rar måte for å briefe med tattisen.

Det var alt for i dag, nå er jeg trøtt og skal sannelig sove litt. Tidlig opp i morgen for å kjøre fjortisen til reggistannlegen. Vi var der i dag også, en dag for tidlig. Flaut.

Minties, fruit chews and milk shakes are now being made in Thailand and moro bars, Eskimo lollies and jet planes will soon be made in Australia.

I’m not opposed to the shifting of production to other places per se.

If something can be done as well or better for a cheaper price somewhere else it is better for the business and the consumer if it is done there.

But I do have reservations about the manufacturing of anything we eat in places where hygiene standards might not be as high as they are here.

Australia has similar standards to ours, but I am less confident about Thailand.

Next time I need a sugar fix I’ll have to choose jaffas, pineapple lumps, chocolate fish, pinky bars and boxed chocolates which will still be made in the Cadbury factory in Dunedin.

Weather

The western side is generally foggy, breezy, and rainy with summer averaging at about 7 to 9 °C. Majority of Alaska regions savor the midnight’s sun enchantment, an oversupply of daylight which make friends and families trekking after dinner. The later part of August and September provide cooler temperatures as well as fewer sunlight hours.

Best Time To Visit

Since May to September have the longest and balmiest atmospheres, throng of visitors flock Alaska. Certain leisure activities and accommodations are only offered during these peak months. Expect to catch bargains on both activities and lodging come after the peak seasons (May and September to October). During these months, the weather is typically very moderate. For someone captivated with skiing, witnessing the drama of Northern Lights, cheering for the sled dog and ice carving contests and going to the Fur Rendezvous, visit “The Great Land” during these periods. Alaska’s winter time is from November to April.

Getting There

Alaska Airlines, the primary local airline, flies to most cities and towns. Airports are located in Juneau, Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Ketchikan.  Bush planes are available for lease so as to bring you into the midst of the wilds or reach far-flung communities. Public busses are accessible in the bigger cities and towns. However, if you have company of more than two, it can be more economical to hire a vehicle. If you are arriving by marine ferry, you’ll sail alongside Inside Passage watercourse and if you are driving, you will track the Alaska Hwy. European and Asian visitors will have to first stop over in LA, Seattle, Chicago, Vancouver or Minneapolis and take a connecting air travel to Anchorage. In addition, biking can be an efficient and inexpensive means to get around.

Wildlife Watching

The unspoiled, wonderful wilds of the state can be considered as the last remnant of booming inhabitants of North America’s wildlife. You can observe the following rare animals in their untouched territory: Grizzly bears, polar bears, bald eagles, moose, humpbacked whales, blue whales, and wolves and hundred more!

Fishing

The state has several of the most magnificent fishing quests on earth! Alaska brings 627 fish species along with 3,000 rivers, 3 million plus lakes, and myriad streams. You can rent a ferry or fly to unload you to a quiet, isolated fishing nook or stop at the roadside and cast a line. These include freshwater and saltwater fishing, fly fishing, and ice fishing. Selecting where and what species to catch is all up to you.

This poem came from the heart, and I felt it was worth sharing with the world—at least with that part of the world, admittedly an infinitesimally small part, that finds its way to my blog. Lauren was a precocious three-year old when her aunt (my youngest daughter) penned this poem, way back in the last century (1984). The years have passed quickly—Lauren is now 25, a lovely and loving young woman, currently employed as an Early Child Development teacher while continuing her education.

The years have passed, but the Eskimo kisses and the miniature bear hugs persist.

Petite mise a jour du blog aujourd’hui, avec des nouvelles pour Eskimo.

Eskimo a gagné le prix des collèges et lycées au festival Courtmétrange qui se déroulait du 22 au 25 octobre 2009 à Rennes.

Nouveau prix donc pour Eskimo, qui marche toujours aussi bien, avec maintenant une quarantaine de selections et 7 prix remportés.

Eskimo + mouse equals eskimouse. Hinrik is Henry in Icelandic, which seemed fitting based on the backdrop.   After 30 minutes of sketching (seen below) I spent maybe 2 hours or so in Photoshop.  Can’t say much more about this except that I know Aissa will love it.

Without trying to sound like rebore Wu Tang, Wiley has fathered many lyrical and musical styles. However, his recent commercial successes, whilst broadening his rapping vocabulary (or narrowing it, depending on how you look at it), have caused a bit of a dry spell on the production front.

But now, it looks like he’s back to his button-bashing best. Over the past couple of months, a few Wiley productions have surfaced that have really caught my attention. Showcasing frenetic drum patterns, little or no melody and sharp interjections of vocal snippets, they contain a hint of the old school, whilst also being totally current and banging.

They are:

Wiley feat. The England 10 – She Likes To

The drums on this kill it. With two kicks battling against skittish hihats and percussive ‘Yelps!’ this is sure to smash it in the clubs. It’s big, brash and dramatic.

Wiley & Shifty vs. Ghetts & Devlin – 1,2,3, GO

This is oestensibly a rap battle track, fully updated and pumped full of adreniline for 2009. The drums are similar to She Likes To but the repeated ‘1,2,3′ refrain adds a nice lead into each verse.

The third example is Fumin’s ‘Out Of The Game’ featuring Wiley, Ice Kid, Jookie Mundo and Diesle, but I couldn’t find a video for it Sick new style for the Godfather, proving there’s plenty of life in him yet.

Burger King estrena su primer módulo de helados

La temporada de verano se acerca y las novedades llegan al mercado de helados. Al relanzamiento de los ‘clásicos’ Eskimo y Buen Humor de D’Onofrio, adelantado por LaPlaza vía Twitter, se le suma un nuevo proyecto de Burger King. La franquicia operada por Delosi instaló recientemente su primer módulo de helados en Plaza San Miguel, formato ya explotado por McDonald’s y Bembos. ¿Apostará Burger King por nuevas ubicaciones ‘heladeras’ en malls o autoservicios?

Regresando a los ‘clásicos’ de D’Onofrio, los referidos helados estarán disponibles desde el próximo domingo. Al respecto, Nestlé inició una campaña publicitaria para radio y exteriores durante el fin de semana.

Kang Media has very recently uploaded an unreleased mix by none other than Twissler Wino called “The Journey of Clayton Magnet Downtown Brocket Mix” on YouTube. Apparently it shows a North Korean Soldier, who looks an awful like Charles Kang(Kang Chul-Su) ordering the viewer to make a Video for this audio track and upload it to YouTube. This is the first time North Korean elements have been brought into the Brocket 99 universe, so this should prove quite interesting. Good morning!

it’s FRIDAY! hooray!  Don’t have a whole lot going on this weekend.  Adam and I are going to a Halloween party tomorrow night.  I got my costume yesterday; I am an eskimo.  I thought it was very fitting since I am always cold.  It’s cute. 

So, last night, turkey meat wasn’t thawed enough for turkey burgers. Boo, but we had turkey tacos instead, yay!  Didn’t put too much on them, just tomatos and skim milk, low-fat mozzarella cheese.  I like soft taco shells.  So I had 5.  They were little though.  With my tacos I had some winter squash.  It was like 50 calories for half a cup.  They were really good.  Got them in the organic section. 

I didn’t finish all of my lunch yesterday.  Our bread box smells funky.  Adam says it smells like bread, but it’s just weird to me.  So the bread smelled a little funky as well.  It wasn’t moldy or anything.  I just couldn’t eat it.  I had about 2 bites. 

We finally watched Transformers last night.  Not that we hadn’t already seen it, but it was still exciting.  Also had a slight ebay accident last night.  Was looking at phones because I need a new one and saw a Blackberry for like $61.  Figuring I would have already been outbidded for $65, I put it in and wouldn’t you know I won.  I didn’t really even want it.  I was just playing around, wanted to see how ebay worked.  Had to buy the stupid thing.  I’ll check it out when it gets here and if it’s in good condition I’ll use it, but if not I’ll send it back.  Or sell it.  I bet I could get more than $65.  Ugh!

This morning, I am eating a delicious fruit salad made up of red seedless grapes, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and apples.  I’m not really sure what type of apples these are but my goodness they’re good!  They’re sweet.  I don’t really eat much fruit, so this is going to send my body into shock!  It’s probably a good thing though!

sich cool dabei fühlen 20 Hunde an Stahlseilen vor ein Quad zu spannen sich zu dritt auf selbigem rum zu flegeln und Kilometer auf Teufel komm raus zu fressen, trainieren wir derzeit noch die Hunde in kleinen Einheiten um Ihnen die nötigen Kommandos und sozialen Fähigkeiten für das fahren auf Wildtrails im Gelände,  sowie das Überleben mit dem Menschen als Teil des Teams in der Natur  zu vermitteln,  oder diese Fähigkeiten nach der Sommerpause wieder zu vertiefen.

Den nur so werden wir im Winter wieder absolut harmonische Teams haben die mit uns gemeinsam im Zelt oder der Hütte die Winternächte verbringen können, wochenlang ohne Unterstützung von außen als perfekte Einheit ohne viel Worte agierend.

Und wer mal genau hinschaut wird folgendes bemerken: Auch “fette” und “voll gefressene” Hunde arbeiten super hart ( das ist mindestens der 7te steile Anstieg auf 10 Kilometern,  letztes Drittel der Trainingsstrecke ) wenn man es versteht seine Hunde zu motivieren. Dazu braucht es keinerlei Nahrungsentzug, verhaltensgestörte Hunde durch Ketten- oder Zwingerhaltung oder sonstige “Druckmittel” oder Zwangsmotivationen.

Sondern nur Kenntnisse und Handeln nach der natürlichen Bedürfnisse der Hunde und sanfte, nachhaltige Steuerung des natürlichen Willens zum laufen und arbeiten.

Und dann, dann kann man im Winter auch richtig fahren, überall. Ohne Skiidootrails, Trailmaker , Depotsäcke und schlag mich tot. Und wenn es dann mal kritisch werden sollte, laufen die Hunde auch 400 KM im Tiefschnee mit 600 KG auf dem Schlitten ohne jegliche Nahrung. Für Ihr Team. Ihren Menschen.  Ohne gesundheitliche Schäden ( weil genug Substanz zum “zusetzen” vorhanden)  , “langsam”, aber stetig und sicher !!

Und bringen uns in jeder Situation sicher nach Hause… .

Das sind Schlittenhunde. Nichts anderes….

Nachtrag: Und den erbarmungswürdigen Wixern die dauernd die “Eskimos” als Beispiele für Ihre Tierquälerei heranziehen sei mal folgendes gesagt: Das heißt Inuit, den Rohfleischfresser = Eskimo ( man sollte die Worte kennen die man benutzt ) ist eine miese,  rassistische Beleidigung. Und zweitens: Lebt doch erst mal einige Monate  mit Inuit die wirklich noch traditionell leben und ernährt euch selbst mal eben solange fast ausschließlich von Blubber ( Wer nicht weis was das ist soll lernen ). Dann, dann dürft Ihr mitreden. Ansonsten gilt nämlich: Wenn man keine Ahnung hat, einfach mal die Fresse halten !!

Nachtrag 2: Man teilt mir mit ich soll doch nicht immer verbal so auf die Kacke hauen und mal freundlich formulieren…. Hm…. Sehe ich gar nicht ein. Das hier ist mein virtuelles Wohnzimmer und da ziehe ich mir die Pantoffeln an, machs Bierchen auf und habe es bequem… .  Aber nun gut Friedensangebot: Statt Nachtrag wie oben folgende Formulierung: Bildung nebst Lebenserfahrung in der großen,  weiten Welt  tut nicht weh und hat auch noch keinem geschadet ) . Ferner soll das den Horizont , so vorhanden, erweitern… . Und eine Universität die einen beißt habe ich auch noch nicht gesehen…
