Uno dei quattro punti fondamentali della carta di clan è la strada, ed è per questo che quest’anno abbiamo sentito il bisogno come comunità di affrontare
una route mobile nelle Prealpi vicentine, luoghi interessati direttamente dalla prima guerra mondiale.
La prima tappa che abbiamo raggiunto è stato il Rifugio Papa dopo aver percorso la strada delle 52 gallerie, scavate nella roccia come baluardo di difesa.
Percorrendo questo sentiero roccioso abbiamo avuto l’occasione di sperimentare la fatica di quei soldati italiani che, nei primi anni del 900 si trovavano
barricati nel versante della montagna per difendere le pianure venete, ed erano costretti a trasportare l’artiglieria pesante fino al dente italiano situato
in cima al monte Pasubio.
Giunti sul far della sera abbiamo piantato le tende e ci siamo preparati a trascorrere la notte in alta quota. Fu una brutta sorpresa svegliarsi prima del
sorgere del sole con i crepitii della pioggia che battevano sui teloni delle tende, tra un sbadiglio e qualche parola scambiata tra tende adiacenti ci siamo
riaddormentati, in attesa che sorgesse il sole e smettesse di piovere.
Dopo aver ripiegato le tende ci siamo incamminati verso la seconda tappa, percorrendo il sentiero degli Scarrubi per arrivare a Posina dove, grazie a un
passaggio che ci è stato offerto dai frati francescani, siamo giunti al Passo Borcola. Lì ci siamo preparati a trascorrere la notte al riparo di una
cappelletta costruita dai pastori del luogo.
Alla sera ci siamo recati alla malga Borcola per scaldarci un po’ lo stomaco e scambiarci quattro chiacchiere dopo una lunga giornata di cammino.
Nonostante le poche ore di sonno dovute ai continui scampanellii delle mucche al pascolo, ci siamo svegliati il giorno seguente consci del fatto che quella
sarebbe stata la giornata più ardua. Alle nove e mezza è iniziata la scalata che ci avrebbe condotti in cima al monte della Borcoletta, attraversando un
terreno abbastanza scosceso. Giunti in cima abbiamo proseguito lungo un sentiero fino al Colle Maggio dove si potevano ammirare ancora le trincee costruite
durante la Grande Guerra. La fatica iniziava a farsi sentire ma muniti di buona forza di volontà abbiamo continuato il cammino, passando per Passo Coe
attraverso tratti di discesa e salita, e siamo giunti a destinazione solo nel tardo pomeriggio, dove i frati salesiani ci hanno ospitati nel Rifugio
dei Fiorentini per l’ultima sera di route.
L’indomani avremmo preso il treno che ci avrebbe riportati a casa.
Ricordo che lungo la salita che ci avrebbe portato alla cima del monte Maggio, mi voltai un attimo per vedere a che punto erano i miei compagni di viaggio.
Fu in quel che mi accorsi di Lisa, che camminava a pochi passi da me. Soffermatasi un attimo per riposarsi e contemplare il paesaggio che si estendeva
sotto di noi mi disse: “Giacomo, non sembra anche a te di trovarci nel paesaggio descritto da Tolkien nel Signore degli Anelli? Quando Frodo e Sam cercano
di arrivare in cima al monte Fato che sembra però irraggiungibile?” A quel punto mi voltai e scoppiammo entrambi in una risata fragorosa, che coinvolse
ben presto gli altri rover che venivano dietro di noi.. Quella era la dimostrazione concreta dell’ottavo punto della nostra legge: la guida e lo scout
sorridono e cantano anche nelle difficoltà.

La legge è stata esaminata associando i vari articoli alla nostra vita quotidiana e dopo varie discussioni e riflessioni, sia a livello personale che di
gruppo, siamo stati tutti concordi nell’affermare che la legge scout può diventare uno stile di vita solamente se crediamo fino in fondo ai valori presenti
nella legge stessa e se siamo coerenti con tali valori anche nella nostra vita di tutti i giorni. Tutto questo allora potrà creare un cambiamento nostro e

कही ककरहा ताल सरोवर निर्माण की अदभुत परंपरा तो नही !

कल रात में खीरी के एक गांव छाऊछ जो शहर से जुड़ा हुआ है, में मैं मेरे मित्र हिमाशु तिवारी के घर पर था, अलाव जल रहा था और मेरी गुफ़्तगू चाचा श्री प्रकाश चन्द्र तिवारी जी से शुरू ए हुई मामला पौराणीक बातो तक गया और फ़िर गहराई लेते हुए महाभारत काल तक, कई चीज़े सामने आई जिनसे मै बिल्कुल अनिभिज्ञ था, इस शब्द के बारे में मेरा मानना है, कि अनिभिज्ञता ही जीवन में उल्लास और संवेदनशीलता लाती है, और जिज्ञाशा भी ! नही तो हम बुद्ध हो जाये और संसार की व्यवस्था देवलोक जैसी किसी व्यवस्था में तब्दील हो जाये और यह भयानक परिवर्तन कैसे परिणाम देंगा यह सोच कर मै विचलित हो जाता हूं खैर बात शब्दों की हो रही है ।

छाऊछ में मध्यकाल के किसी राजा की गढ़ी के अवशेष है किन्तु उनका इतिहास अब विस्मृत हो चुका है।

यही मुझे मालूम हुआ कि लखिमपुर में बेहजम बस अड्डे के पास एक पक्का तालाब और एक सुन्दर बगीचा जिसमें एक खूबसूरत निवास स्थान बना है आज वह मन्दिर का रूप ले चुका है किन्तु संगमरमर से सजाया ये सरोवर और इमारत कभी महेवा रियासत की रानी विजया कुंवरि का प्रसाद हुआ करता था और यह सरोवर उनके जल क्रीड़ा का स्थान किन्तु उनके बनारस चले जाने के बाद उनकी जमीने जिन्हे उन्होने ने अपने सेवकों के हवाले कर दी थी और एक सन्त ने इसे मन्दिर का रूप दे दिया।

इतिहास की ये झलकियां मुझे और जानने की जिज्ञासा की ओर दौड़ने को कह रही है। मैं जब उस जगह पहुंचूगा तो आप सब को मिलूंगा एक नई कहानी के साथ!

वालदा-

इस शब्द को जानने से पहले बग्गर शब्द को जान लेना जरूरी है, बग्गर गांवों में प्रचलित शब्द है जो उस स्थान को कहा जाता है जहा मवेशी पाले जाते है और उनके खाने आदि की व्यवस्था यह स्थान एक मैदान जो घिरा भी हो सकता है फ़ूस-टटिया से कांटों से या चारदिवारी से मध्य में वृक्ष आदि और एक घारी(कच्ची निट्टी का बना घर ) और उसके आगे छप्पर, घारी में भूसा, चारा वगैरह और कृषि संबधी उपकरण रखे जाते है और उसके आगे के छप्परों में मवेशियों के रहने की व्यवस्था। और इस घारी और छप्पर वाले स्थान को वालदा या वाल्दा कहते है। अर्थात बग्गर में बना मवेशियों का घर वालदा कहलाता है।

छाऊछ में कुछ एतिहासिक प्रमाण_

मै उत्सुक रहता हूं ग्रामीण भाषा के शब्दों और उनके इतिहास को और यही उत्सुकता मुझे ले गयी छाऊछ के कुछ एतिहासिक स्थलों में मेरे यह पूछने पर कि चाचा गांवों में ककरहा नाम ताल क्यों होते है उनका भी जवाब मेरे अनुमान से मिलता जुलता है क्योंकि मैनहन, दुधवा और अन्य स्थानों पर तमाम तालों के नाम ककरहा या इससे मिलते जुलते है और इन सब जगहों से भी मैं परिचित हूं, तालाब की तलहटी में कंकड़ होना ही इस शब्द कि उत्पत्ति का कारक बना, किन्तु इन सभी ककरहा तालों में ये कंकड़ कहां से आये जबकि इनके बिल्कुल समीप के तालों की तलहटी में चिकनी मिट्टी मौजूद है?

मैनहन में ककरहा ताल से जुड़ा हुआ कुण्डा ताल जिसमें चिकनी मिट्टी है और वह ग्रामीणों द्वारा डेहरिया, कच्चे घरों की मरम्मत और मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाने में इस्तेमाल होती रही है।

मैं सोचता हूं कि कही ये तालाब निर्माण की कोई व्यवस्था तो नही थी जिसमें इसकी तलहटी में कंकड़ डाले जाते हों ताकि सोतों से स्वच्छ पानी छन कर आये और उसमे नहाने वाले लोगों के पैर मिट्टी में न धंसे और यदि कोई चीज़ तालाब में गिर जाये तो वह मिट्टी-कीचड़ में पैबस्त न होने पाये बल्कि तलहटी में कंकड़ों पर सुरक्षित रहे। यहां एक बात गौरतलब है कि ये  कंकड़ नुकीले न होकर गोल है ताकि मनुष्य और जानवर दोनों के पैर सुरक्षित रहे, छिद्रदार कंकड़। झाऊ पत्थर के………………।

तालाब निर्माण की तकनीक जो प्रचलित थी हमारी प्राचीन ग्रामीण सभ्यता में। कुछ आप भी सोचिये और बताइये।

और यह तकनीक जोड़ती है उन सब क्षेत्रों को जहां ककरहा ताल है और उन लोगो को भी .ये सभी एक ही परंपरा के लोग रहे होगे।

चाऊछ में भी मुझे पता चला ककरहा ताल के पास मठहा ताल है उसमें कंकड़ नही है और वहां पांच मठ बने हुए है इतिहास में इसके प्रमाण है कि विराटपुरी खीरी जनपद के बड़खर गांव में थी और यह सारे क्षेत्र उसी राज्य की सीमा में थे इस लिये अज्ञातवास के सम्य पाण्डवों के दुर्दिन भी इन तमाम जगहों पर बितीत हे जिनमें छाऊछ का जिक्र मैने पहली बार सुना जबकि आज के दुढवा टाइगर रिजर्व के जंगलों में कई स्थानों पर पाण्डवों के निवास करने की बाते कही जाती है।

इन मठॊ में चार मठ एक स्थान पर और एक थॊड़ा अलग और विशाल, कहते है पांचाली इसी मठ में रहती थी और इस मठ के द्वार पर जिसकी खड़ाऊ मौजूद होती थी तो यह अन्य भाईयों में मान लिया जाता था कि आज द्रौपदी के साथ रात्रि विश्राम कौन कर रहा है!

Shankar always looked forward to his weekend day trip to Maasa’s Shamba. This was a farm owned by Maasa, the elderly neighbour who did not mind talkative, inquisitive 9 year olds tagging along whenever he visited his farm. But unlike the normal notion of a farm, that grew cash crops and had a farmhouse, all within about 20-30 acres of land; this Shamba was 800 acres large and almost sustained a township within it, with a grocery store, farm implement store, a diesel pump and a primary school, all within the shamba. Shankar looked forward to the trip as it let him be footloose, fancy free, and appreciate nature from real close; not that he lived in a big city. He lived in a small town on the shores of the large lake on the equator. The shamba was actually a sugar cane estate that grew tons of the sweet grass to be supplied to the nearby sugar mill. The weather was tropical, yet pleasant with warm mornings, slightly humid afternoons, rainy evenings and cool nights. The weather stayed uniform all year round and so the farm grew the cane for harvest all year round, too. The beauty of this crop is its ability to regenerate more than once – so if the “first” cane is harvested, in a few days, fresh shoots will grow in place of the short sugar stumps and regenerate into the 1^st ratoon and even if that is harvested, quickly springs up the 2^nd ratoon. This is convenient for the farmers as they have to till the land only once in a year or so, but the short growing season ensures that farmhands are occupied enough. Shankar’s shamba trip would always be in a multi-terrain four wheel drive vehicle as the murram roads within the estate could be quite tricky – slushy in places, while dry and dusty more often. At times, little streams needed to be crossed which only a sturdy vehicle could manouevre. Lunch would always be at the farmhouse clusters – hot Gujju food served by the local Luo cook; lip-smacking wholesome goodies, most of which were grown in their backyard. On some of the afternoons, Shankar would ask to be taken to the nearby forest and the natural water springs – just to savour the cool and bubbly water that flowed freely from a banana grove and on his return to the farmhouse, he would be treated to stories of a gorilla attack last weekend or the hyena that almost caught a school going child. Wild stories that scared him, but at the same time, egged him to return to the shamba every other weekend, at times with his siblings and parents.

There was furore in Delhi last week on the sweet grass, and more in the parliament this week too. I guess some other issues demolished this little niggle, as the D Street Boyz settled to see some political action that transcended into religion as well. Of-course, as is usually noticed, they were taken by surprise as some northern state announced a pact with the cane farmers paving the way to a sweet compromise (I presume) and the happy, sweet feeling and the green grassy sweet canes ensured that even the SENSEX remained lush and green all through. And like the real cane, even when there were threats of decimation (when the SENSEX slipped down), it rebounded like the 1^st ratoon and 2^nd to keep the day green. Someone predicted a volatile session, which it was in the second half, but if a 60 point here and another 50 there could scare the D Boyz, then they would not be D Boyz. So taking it in their stride, they ended the day on a sweet note up 67 points at 17198.

Before returning from the shamba, the all-in-one cook would load the four wheel drive with some fresh produce from his kitchen garden – plump purple brinjals, fresh broad beans, bundles of aromatic dillweed, crisp green ladyfingers, cobs of fresh white corn, freshly uprooted groundnuts, log like cassava, and once in while, some freshly cut cane sugar, to be peeled, cubed and quartered and eaten while watching the football match on TV that night!

With high-speed Internet, and my desk in my office, I was ready to test it out today.  10mbps down and about 900kbps up and I was cookin’. 

I had to take some kraft paper and put it over the windows.  The sunlight coming in causes some terrible glare.  I’ll have to talk Elizabethe into makeing some curtains for the windows, or find some sort of suitable blinds.

It’s kind of a wiring nightmare right now.  I have to re-route cables and zip-tie them and make it neat, but hey, it is usable at last.

Elizabethe and I worked at the temple tonight.  When I got there, the parking lot was about empty, however, it was quite busy.  I had to learn some quick Spanish.  I think I butched it.  But, the Spanish-speaking guests thanked me for my efforts.   (Maybe it is time to breakdown and purchase Rosetta Stone software for learning Spanish.)

RICS анкетира 430 от членовете си от цял свят. От института определят като проблемни имоти тези, за които има съдебна заповед за принудително отнемане или се рекламират за продажба на стойността на ипотеката върху тях, като вероятно ще донесат по-ниска цена от пазарната си стойност. „Офертите за проблемни имоти вероятно ще се превърнат в по-голяма характеристика на глобалния пейзаж на пазара на недвижимости в идните години, тъй като рефинансирането на заеми и подобреното ценообразуване създават прозорец от възможности за банките да намалят част от експозицията си към заеми за имоти“, коментира старши икономистът на RICS Оливър Гилмартин, цитиран от Ройтерс. Не може да се твърди, че банките са се разбързали да отнемат имоти с просрочени ипотеки през третото тримесечие, като по-малко от една пета от оценителите регистрират увеличаване на заповедите за отнемане, колкото и през предходните три месеца. Прогнозата на института е през четвъртото тримесечие ситуацията с проблемните активи леко да се подобри, като се очаква ръст на сделките с проблемни имоти да има в 19 от 25 страни поради стабилизирането в ОАЕ и Южна Африка. За разлика от тях Русия, САЩ, Испания и Ирландия може да станат свидетели на най-големите повишения на продажбите на проблемни активи през периода от октомври до декември. От RICS са попитали членовете си също да оценят нивото на интереса от страна на фондове, специализирани в покупки на проблемни активи. Става ясно, че интересът расте в 18 от държавите, като начело е Китай.
