Der TV-Sender Euronews strahlt eine Nachrichtensendung mit dem klingenden Titel “No Comment!” aus. Hierbei werden tagesaktuelle Themen gezeigt, wobei sich die Berichterstattung lediglich auf die bewegten Bilder beschränkt. Kein Kommentar. Nur die reine Wirkung der Bilder.

In Anlehnung an diese Überschrift, sehe ich es als meine Aufgabe, auch im Namen des Menschenrechtes auf Informationsfreiheit, meinen geehrten LeserInnen Informationen zukommen zu lassen, die zwar ohnehin öffentlich zugänglich sind (auf der offiziellen Internethomepage zu finden), aber noch mal mit Nachdruck jedem vor Augen geführt werden sollten.

Ein Auszug der “Wahrheiten” und “Handlungsvorschläge” der Olympia Burschenschaft, die unlängst mit einer Rede von FPÖ-Chef Heinz Christian Strache ihr 150-jähriges Bestehen gefeiert hat:

• “Die Menschen sind nicht gleich, außer im Bezug auf ihre Würde.”
• “Es stellt keine ‘Diskriminierung’ dar, wenn Ungleiches ungleich behandelt wird.”
• “Die Zuwanderung in dem Ausmaß der letzten Jahrzehnte stellt keine Bereicherung dar.”
• “Der ‘Import’ fremder Menschen löst das Finanzierungsproblem bei unseren Sozialnetzen (z.B. Pensionszahlungen, Krankenkassen) nicht.”
• “Jeder, der eingewandert ist, kann auch wieder auswandern.”
• “Wir wurden zu keinem Zeitpunkt gefragt, ob wir mit Zuwanderung, Einbürgerung, Öffnung der Sozialleistungen, etc. einverstanden sind.”
• “Niemand hat uns verboten, Menschen unserer Herkunft im täglichen Leben bevorzugt zu behandeln.”
• “Alle Rahmenbedingungen für eine höhere Geburtenrate wären leistbar, wenn bei den Fässern ohne Boden gespart werden würde.”
• “Es ist in den meisten Bereichen (z.B. Intelligenz, Medizin, Sport, etc.) von Relevanz, von welcher biologischen Abstammung ein Mensch ist.”

Dopo un corteo acqueo in Canal Grande e una processione a due passi dal ponte di Rialto tra due ali di veneziani, turisti e moltissimi fotografi, il funerale di Venezia contro lo spopolamento della città si è concluso con una bara collocata davanti al palazzo del Comune.

Di fronte all’ingresso di Ca’ Farsetti, con i cancelli sbarrati e presidiato dalla polizia, è stata pronunciata l’orazione funebre della Serenissima con una poesia in dialetto veneziano.

Una cerimonia simbolica, a cui hanno partecipato circa due-trecento persone, per dire a tutti che insieme ai suoi abitanti Venezia sta perdendo anche la sua anima. Poi il finale a sorpresa. Once again, thanks goes to Liarpoliticians for uploading this item from Euronews.  At 2.50mins, the newsreader gives a cople of interesting points that needs following up though.

The Treaty will come into force on December 1st 2009, “leaving weeks to recruit new figures”…  Devious bastards!

The “revamped” Union will give “more power” to Europe on the world stage creating 2 new jobs (doubt that’ll make a dent in the unemployment figures).  A “full-time president” and  “a powerful new foreign chief” appointed by the unelected European Council to improve “decision-making”…  Their treason knows no bounds the bastards!

And then one of the biggest lies about Europe ever perpetrated, “that old quip, if people wished to speak to Europe, who do they call” is total bullshit.  The English speaking world prefers to speak to Britain and the rest of the world seem to prefer the French (the Argietines and Iraq did anyway).  Lumping us all together as one block is stupid and dangerous for a whole raft of reasons.

Our National Parliaments will be reduced to be nothing more than an oversight commitee and act in  subsidiarity, which is the principle that political power should be exercised by the smallest or least central unit of government,  a fancy word for Outsourcing decisions to more Government-funded quangos maybe?

Although the European Council may have left a gaping loophole.  Seems they’ve adopted the Swiss model of people power, so if more than one million “EU citizens” banded together, they could ask for new legislation to be put forward.  Five-hundred million people in the EU, surely at least half want out of the European Fascist State?  If so, by December 2nd, the EU will have to contemplate it’s own dissolution.  At least it’ll be in the record books as the Shortest Lived Empire in History.  One can hope at least.

And Euronews also delights us with “introduces a.. formal.. possibility.. for a country to leave the EU…” then cut to a scene of the European Golden Stars’ flag being hoisted up, “the conditions are not specified”.  The carrot and stick approach.  Dangling the Holy Grail of carrots of gaining freedom peacefully while the EU set about sharpening their sticks.

We need out of the European Union for a million and one reasons.  They have lied to us, cheating us out of our Birthrights.  The European Council reminds me of a cheating wife.  Imagine your wife owning up to only wanting you as you were a prize and has been sleeping with every other man, women and even children in Europe “while on business” talking you down every chance she got.  The problem we have is that the European Council don’t see it like that.  They see cushy jobs and higher ideals than us mere peasants could comprehend.  They have their experts and their backers and their dependents to worry about, we are just a means to an ends.

It was in the news a few days ago that the conditional agreement struck by the EU on how it will go about helping developing nations to fight climate change ended without a set figure on what it will pay. The poorer eastern European countries are not ready to commit to financing the 20-50 billion Euros the EU expects to star paying by 2020.

I posted earlier the EU seemed eager to push an agreement on the climate. Watching polish minister for European affairs Mikolaj Dowgielewicz on Euronews yesterday I realized how wrong I was about that. Dowgielewicz made clear that Poland is not like the likes of Germany and others and is interest in economic development. In his words:

’‘Believe me that in a country like Poland, like mine, we have very limited scope for emission reductions after 2020 because we expect high economic growth. We don’t want to become a museum of folklore of Eastern Europe. I would really welcome more effort from rich western European countries to reduce emissions themselves.’‘

The EU expects that climate change will require 100 billion Euros a year mainly as aid to poorer nations for mitigation and adaptation. I think that money will not do Africa any good. If for example hat money is sent to Nigeria it will end up in peoples pockets. Does Nigeria have any plan for mitigating or adapting to climate change? Yar’ Adua’s seven point agenda is based on expected income from crude oil (which we expect to increase). Would it not go along way if the government fixes the power sector and people stop being dependent on generators? We don’t have a plan, and if we are given money without a plan at least then it will be lost to corruption; it will be the same old story all over again.

Si il y a Une émission de TV qui me fascine, c’est bien le No Comments d’Euronews, même si le concept revient à se tirer une balle dans le pied(quand on est journaliste)! Pas de commentaires, pas de travail. Il faut donc avoir du courage, à moins que ce soit de la lâcheté… ne pas commenter, c’est ne pas se mouiller. No Comments c’est malgré tout bien pratique quand l’objet ce suffit à lui même…

Prezentarea muzeului în evidenţa CIMEC

Apesar dos esforços das autoridades brasileiros do turismo para apagar essa imagem, o Brasil continua sendo visto como um dos principais destinos do mundo para viajantes em busca de turismo sexual.

Uma reportagem recente do canal Euronews  comprova que diversos portugueses viajam frequentemente ao Brasil por causa da facilidade com que encontram sexo. Embora o filme da reportagem seja falado em português, ele terá impacto por toda a Europa, pois o Euronews traduz reportagens e as exibe no idioma natal de cada país da comunidade.

E a reportagem não poderia ser mais devastadora para a imagem do Brasil. Embora tenha sido focada em Natal (o próprio titular da Secretaria de Turismo do Rio Grande do Norte aparece em entrevista), todo o tempo é mencionado que a mesma situação se observa por todo o país, ou melhor, nos dois Brasis.

Há um Brasil desenvolvido, para quem a vinda dos estrangeiros é proveitosa; é o Brasil dos empresários, políticos e classe média. E há o Brasil que é simplesmente explorado pelos visitantes estrangeiros; e aí se inclui as garotas que, por falta de opção, se voltam para a prostituição.

E o filme mostra o caso de escolas em que, por falta de professores, os alunos ficam na ociosidade; e o descaso das autoridades que toleram a exploração de menores; e entrevistas com mulheres que narram como, por falta de opções, tiveram que voltar-se para a prostituição. É uma realidade, como nós brasileiros sabemos, que pode ser encontrada nas maiores cidades do Nordeste, como Fortaleza e Recife.

European foreign ministers have criticized the ‘catastrophic’ Friday bombing of north Afghanistan, which left 90 people, including many civilians, killed.

During an unofficial meeting in Sweden on Saturday, foreign ministers from different European Union nations censured NATO’s lethal attack on two fuel tankers, believed to have taken over by Taliban militants in Qonduz province, in which 90 people including dozens of civilians lost their lives.

Euronews, citing German media outlets, reported that Germany’s press blame their government for the attack as it ordered US fighter jets to run the operation.

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner called the attack ‘a serious mistake’ and told EU to “work with the Afghan people, not bomb them.”

Meanwhile, Luxemburg’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn branded the recent episode as ‘an unacceptable catastrophe.’

Also in the meeting, Britain admitted the recent fatal airstrike would endanger the future of peace-keeping mission and called for new strategies to combat militancy.

NATO has pledged to ‘fully’ probe the incident.

No he podido colgar el enlace del mundo.es sobre la noticia que voy a comentar. No sé si es que no lo van a colgar, lo colgaron y lo quitaron, o que se les ha olvidado.

Euronews están planteándose dejar de emitir en español. Después de que TVE tomara hace un año la decisión de salirse de su accionariado, los rectores de este canal están valorando dar el finiquito a las emisiones en español. Ante todo me parece un error por parte de Euronews, ya que si ha conseguido ser una cadena de referencia, cuestionando incluso el liderazgo de la CNN o la BBC, es entre otras cosas por la posibilidad de emitir en varios idiomas, árabe, español, francés, inglés, italiano, portugués y ruso.

Además no sólo emiten aquí, sino que se puede sintonizar en otros lugares del planeta, es decir, en otros sitios donde también se habla español, con lo que habrá que esperar a que estos rumores tomen forma. Repito, sería un error.

A mí no me va a afectar demasiado, ya que con ponerla en inglés me basta y me sobra, pero dado el bajísimo nivel de penetración de la lengua de Shakespeare en nuestra sociedad, con un sistema educativo (o 17) que prioriza un montón de soplapolladas, pues habrá muchos telespectadores españoles (que igual hablan dos idiomas, pero que el segundo no es el inglés desde luego) que se tendrán que fastidiar.

¿Por qué entonces el título de este post? Pues no precisamente por la posible decisión de Euronews, que va. Más bien porque seguimos descendiendo a los infiernos en lo que es la oferta informativa de este nuestro país. Uno de los motivos para que TVE se saliera de Euronews (los turcos por cierto ya han ocupado nuestro sitio, para 2010 emisiones en turco, felicidades a los premiados) es la fuerte apuesta por el Canal 24 horas.

Muy bonito lo del 24 horas, pero como apuntan desde Euronews, no son 24 horas de noticias en español, sino 24 horas de noticias españolas… y que quieren que les diga, a mí eso me interesa lo justo.

Desgraciadamente nuestro panorama audiovisual es cada vez más cerrado, o más bien encerrado en sí mismo. Las escaletas de los informativos dan cada día más pena, dejando la información internacional en un segundo plano, dedicándola unas colas, sin análisis alguno.

Echo de menos debates sobre política internacional a horas decentes. Echo de menos una cobertura un poco más amplia de las visitas que hacen a nuestro país los mandatarios de otros países, y viceversa, las que hacen los nuestros por ahí. Bueno, cuando tenemos alguna Moratinada se le da más relevancia, por aquello del morbo y la chufla, pero en ese momento, cuando se banaliza, se simplifica y se hace tanto reduccionismo provinciano, solo me apetece cambiar de canal.

Sé que a y media y a en punto si me paso por el canal 140 de ONO, voy a poder enterarme de lo que pasa ‘ahí’ fuera, sin alharacas, la noticia y punto. Además sé que podré encontrar interesantes informaciones sobre la actividad de la Unión Europea (sí hombre, esa a la que pertenecemos desde hace 23 años), y que conoceré a los líderes mundiales a través de entrevistas personales, y no viendo las mismas imágenes que tiene todo el mundo, empaquetadas en una cola de 30 segundos me lo resume todo tanto que solo espero a conectarme a internet para saber de qué coño me están hablando.

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que Lorenzo Milá (bueno ahora ya no podrá), Piqueras, o Matías Prats hablaron con Obama, Merckl, Sarkozy, Brown, Medvedev o Durao Barroso? No hay tiempo, entre anuncio y anuncio hay que meter unos sucesos y el último callo en el pie de Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ayer, en Antena 3 estuvo la profesional del sexo que se la ha liado a Berlusconi. Él tampoco se pasará por ninguna cadena, amiga o no, para contarnos qué es lo que hace cuando no está en su villa… a sus cosas.

Por cierto, Euronews está en conversaciones con la FORTA, para cubrir (con euros) la ausencia de TVE. Que se preparen nuestros impuestos. Cualquier día veré Euronews en catalán, al tiempo.

M’agrada Euronews i no se dir-vos ben bé el perquè. Potser per què és un canal de notícies tranquil. Vindria a ser el Barril de les cadenes d’informació contínua… Bé, al tema; el cas és que des que sóc espectador del canal (més d’una dècada) sempre hi he vist una secció que es diu “No comment”. Durant un parell de minuts pots veure les imatges relacionades amb una notícia sense gaire edició i amb el so ambient de quan les van gravar.

A vegades es tracta de notícies d’actualitat “pura i dura” i a vegades, com és el cas de la que he vist avui, es tracta d’una notícia curiosa. Aquí la teniu:

A leading French business newspaper is launching a multi-lingual version of its website using automatic translation, dispensing with journalists but producing often comic results.

“Ryanair loan to make travel of the passengers upright,” read a typically bizarre headline on La Tribune’s site this week above a story in equally mangled English on the low-cost airline’s plans to make people fly standing up.

“The Chinese car in ambush,” “Internet Explorer: mistrust!” and “Assets of the continental right in management of the crisis” were some other mysterious headlines the same day on the site, which is still in an experimental phase.

But the paper’s editors are confident that the project will, once the software is refined and a human hired to tweak the texts, open La Tribune to a potentially huge international audience.

This is totally ridiculous IMHO. For sure, automatic translations tools may help but nothing can replace the skill of a human being AFAIK. As stated in the Rory Mulholland article «…it is generally accepted that translation software cannot, as Google Translate admits on its site, “approach the fluency of a native speaker or possess the skill of a professional translator.” ». This is an example of what I call Techno-imbecility or in french, my native language, de la Bêtise Technologique.

Did they expect to reach an international audience with a such botched job?

The Great Hope of the Imbeciles is to have for few euros or dollars a gadget cheaper than a professionnal, here, a translator. As I remember my youth reading, Karl Marx wrote in The Capital, that in the process of capitalism, humain being are considered useless making all focus on technology.

He was not so wrong indeed! But I beleive that it’s more a Yahoo’s feature and not a bug of an historical period…

I suggest you to check by yourself an example of a multi-lingual european news web site to see what is possible without the oddities we’re talking about. As far as I know, the English, French and German translations appear to be correct and far from the weird and comic effects of that french newspaper.

Suite à l’élection controversée de Mahmoud Ahmadinejad en Iran, de violents heurts et manifestations ont soulevé tout le pays et notamment la capitale Téhéran.

La France qui s’est exprimée très rapidement sur la situation instable et fragile au Moyen Orient, s’est dite très inquiète. En revanche,  le porte parole du ministère des Affaires étrangères, Eric Chevallier, assure que les relations entre les deux pays ne sont pas tendues même si la France partage les mêmes avis et préoccupations que la communauté internationale.

Cet après midi, le premier ministre François Fillon a confirmé ainsi les faits  en affirmant  devant l’Assemblée nationale que la France était “extrêmement préoccupée par la dégradation de la situation”. Il a également déclaré que les autorités iranniennes devaient privilégier le dialogue, au détriment de la force, pour maîtriser les échauffourés.

Nicolas Sarkozy a de son côté lui aussi condamné les violences et les arrestations musclées des manifestants puis il a appelé à faire “toute la lumière” sur les mystérieux résultats qu’ont apporté les élections présidentielles.

Alors que Paris et Washington s’opposent à propos de l’entrée de la Turquie dans l’Union européenne, le conseil d’administration de la chaîne d’information Euronews, présidé par Philippe Cayla, accueillera ce pays avant la fin de l’année, après que le Quai d’Orsay a donné son feu vert.

 La Turquie deviendra le 21e actionnaire d’une chaîne diffusée dans 145 pays, pour 260 millions de foyers, alors que la Grèce et l’Ukraine frappent également à la porte. Au bord du dépôt de bilan en 2003, Euronews est désormais rentable et vise un développement aux Etats-Unis. Première concurrente de CNN en Europe, elle est diffusée à New York et le sera bientôt à Washington.
