Those who would take our liberty from us are growing impatient.  They have seen a door opened to them with the election of the mOssiah, Chairman Maobama, and they are emboldened by America’s forced dash towards socialism.  Yet you, the American people, still stand in their way.

It is you, the American people, who can stop and unseat our corrupt elected representatives.

It is you, the American people, who can stop Barack Hussein Obama from pushing us off the cliff of socialism.

It is you, the American people, though it may be difficult, who can recover from the near destruction of our economy.

It is you, the American people, the people of the greatest nation the earth has ever known, the people who made America the shining beacon of freedom around the globe, who stand in the way of an unelected global government who will strip your freedom and wealth from you.

The true agenda behind the global warming/climate change agenda has been revealed by its own proponents.  Global governance is their aim.  On the surface that can only mean lowering your standard of living, taking your wealth, taking your freedom, and giving it to those who have not earned it.  Those pushing for global governance have told us they want to do this.  But what aren’t they telling us?  As is always the case with any liberal proposal, what they tell you and what they really mean are two entirely different things.  The chances that what they steal from us will ever make it into the hands of the African tribesmen or Pygmies in the outback of Australia is remote at best.  They will never see any benefit from wealth stolen from us.  That wealth will only be used to line the pockets and consolidate the power of those who form this global government.

What can we do to aid the less fortunate around the world?  Can it be done without a one-world government?  How can it be done?  The answer is simple.

American exceptionalism and capitalism.

America has ALWAYS been the most generous nation on earth.  We have ALWAYS given more than all other nations combined to those less fortunate nations.  We have ALWAYS been the first on the scene providing aid when there is a natural disaster somewhere in the world.  How have we been able to do this?  Because our American ingenuity, and capitalist free market system have always produced more than we need.  When that system is destroyed, there will be nothing left to give.  When you destroy the wealthy and those who produce wealth, you are left with nothing a-la “Atlas Shrugged.”  Obama and the rest of the liberal elites are using class warfare to justify their increased taxation of the wealthy and middle class.  I will leave you with this short story that explains quite well what is happening.

How Taxes Work . . .(not an original work, author unknown)

Let’s put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men, the poorest, would pay nothing; the fifth would pay $1, the sixth would pay $3, the seventh $7, the eighth $12, the ninth $18, and the tenth man, the richest, would pay $59.

That’s what they decided to do. The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement until one day the owner threw them a curve (in tax language a tax cut).

“Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20.” So now dinner for the ten only cost $80.00.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six, the paying customers?  How could they divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his “fair share?”

The six men realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being PAID to eat their meal. So the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52 instead of his earlier $59. Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. “I only got a dollar out of the $20,” declared the sixth man who pointed to the tenth. “But he got $7!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man, “I only saved a dollar, too . . . It’s unfair that he got seven times more than me!”

“That’s true!” shouted the seventh man, “why should he get $7 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison, “We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night he didn’t show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered, a little late what was very important. They were FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS short of paying the bill! Imagine that!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college instructors, is how the tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore.

Where would that leave the rest?

Unfortunately, most taxing authorities anywhere cannot seem to grasp this rather straightforward logic!

EU President claims 2009 first year of global governance

According to recent statements by the EU’s President, Herman van Rompuy, the year 2009 will mark the first year of global governance. The EU President, a former Belgian Prime Minister, mentioned this in a recent speech upon confirmation of his presidency. Said the newly confirmed EU President, “2009 is the first year of global governance with the establishment of the G20 in the middle of financial crisis. The climate conference in Copenhagen is another step towards the global management of our planet.” This claim has given rise to fears of a possible coup of the American government if the proposed Copenhagen Climate Treaty is signed by President Obama in December.

The climate treaty, it is theorized, would mandate that wealthier nations redistribute up to 2% of their annual gross domestic product to third-world countries in reparation for so-called “climate debt.” In other words, it mandates a handout from richer nations to poorer nations, based on the spurious scientific evidence of global warming. Evidence which has recently proven to be falsified, according to the leak of information from Hadley CRU.

The foundation for these fears that U.S. Sovereignty will be usurped result from a section on governance in the treaty, beginning on page 22 of the proposal. Some believe it would create an unelected world government with direct control over all financial and trading markets, plus the direct power to intervene over the heads of elected governments in the economic and environmental affairs of the nations which sign the Treaty. It is on this basis that some fear the U.S. may lose its sovereignty if President Obama signs this treaty, and Congress ratifies it into law. Among those who warn against the treaty is British Lord Monckton, the former science advisor to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Whether or not these fears and suspicions are well-founded, however, the new EU President nonetheless has displayed a worrying presumption in regards to other nations. Certainly Americans would do well to be vigilant regarding this matter, particularly concerning the devaluation of the dollar, and China’s past urgings to accept a global currency. Yet America has not surrendered her sovereignty, despite the EU President’s implied assumptions that America, along with other nations, will indeed bow to the authority of a one world government in the future. Indeed, many recent reports have sounded the death knell for this treaty. Regardless, America must stand firm against those who would seize or coerce unrightful power; American must not and cannot cede its sovereignty to any person or entity. That means you, too, President van Rompuy.

Poland, Spain want EU help for crime victims

Poland and Spain have begun a drive to create EU-wide protection for victims of crimes such as sexual abuse and trafficking, Polish Justice Minister Krzysztof Kwiatkowski was quoted as saying Thursday.”We want national justice rulings to be applicable across the territory of the European Union, and not just in the country concerned,” Kwiatkowski told the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita.

As it stands, victims of sexual abuse and human trafficking only get legal protection in the country where the perpetrators of the crime have been found guilty.

If they move to another EU member state, the victims therefore face the spectre of cross-border revenge — and starting a new legal process.

The new disease originating in the Ukraine and slowly spreading through Europe is said to be very similar to the 1918 flu that killed millions. Reports claim the pneumonic plague is a combination of three different types of flu strains. It’s being called black lung because in x rays of victims their lungs are black.

The President of Ukraine said “People are dying. The epidemic is killing doctors. This is absolutely inconceivable in the 21st Century. We have sent the analysis to Kiev. We don’t believe its H1N1 swine flu. Neither do we know what kind of pneumonia it is.”

The black lung is being called some sort of viral pneumonia and is said to be very aggressive killing hundreds of people. Officials have contacted the WHO (World Health Organization) and a team of specialists are investigating.

There are conspiracy theories to this new epidemic and this one is perhaps the strangest yet.

Universities, schools and kindergartens have been closed, public meetings have been banned and theaters shut. Last week several border crossings in the country were also closed.

Last night reports emerged of profiteering over face masks, which have sold out since the outbreak. There are also incidents of anti-virus medication being sold for exorbitant prices. A spokesman for the World Health Organization said: “We do not have a time scale for the results of the tests in London, although some preliminary results have been obtained. I cannot tell you what they are.

“We did not have enough of the virus samples so we will have to grow some more before we can come to a conclusive decision about its nature.”

Neighboring Poland has called on the EU to take action, fearing the mystery virus may spread west wards.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has written to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and the Swedish Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, who holds the EU presidency, saying: “The character of this threat demands that rapid action be undertaken at the European Union level.”

Russia, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Romania, countries that border Ukraine, have already launched health checks on Ukrainians entering their territory.

Slovakia has closed two of five border crossings.

A doctor in Western Ukraine who did not want to be named, said:” We have carried out post mortems on two victims and found their lungs are as black as charcoal.

“They look like they have been burned. It’s terrifying.”

(GREEK NEWS AGENDA) In a press conference held on the premises of Greece’s Permanent Mission to the OSCE in Vienna, Ambassador Mara Marinaki set out the Greek chairmanship’s goals for the organisation’s 17th Ministerial Council meeting (December 1-2). 

The Council will review the progress achieved on a number of OSCE’s engagements, including the progress on the so called “frozen conflicts” (Georgia Moldova, Nagorno-Karabakh). The Greek Chairmanship will then seek the adoption of a common declaration.

Marinaki pointed out the difficulty of such a venture, given that decisions are taken unanimously and that last time a common declaration was adopted by all OSCE members was in 2002 (10th Meeting of the Ministerial Council, Porto).

Answering questions by the press, Marinaki noted that all OSCE members support the Greek chairmanship’s efforts as well as the promotion of the “Corfu agenda.” 
The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the 56-member Organisation, hosted by the country which holds the annually rotating chairmanship of the organization.

The French Navy amphibious assault ship Mistral—named for a cold French wind—visits Saint Petersburg today. This is not just a port call; it is a sales call—with ominous geopolitical implications.

“We plan to buy one Mistral class ship in France and with technical support from the French to build four helicopter carriers of this class under license,” said Vice Admiral Oleg Burtsev, First Deputy Chief of the Russian Navy Staff. It would be the biggest ever NATO country military supply to Russia.

The Mistral class of ships is designed to attack the shore from the sea, an ideal weapon for Russia to intimidate its neighbors. Mistrals can carry 16 heavy or 35 light helicopters, 4 landing craft, 900 soldiers and up to 70 military vehicles, including up to 40 tanks.

At about $800 million apiece, France’s motivation to sell Mistrals is understandable. Besides, sale proponents argue, a few modern ships to Russia’s barnacle-ridden navy will hardly threaten American dominance at sea.

However, is Paris prepared to reward Russian aggression against Georgia, ignore shredding of the ceasefire agreement negotiated and signed by President Nicolas Sarkozy, accept the help of Georgian soldiers in Afghanistan but enforce an unacknowledged arms embargo on Georgia, and meanwhile sell advanced arms to Russia? Does France really want Russia to have this littoral combat capability?

Ignoring these questions may evoke pleasant noises in Moscow for a time, but Russia will not reciprocate in any concrete way. Indeed, it will demand ever more to be appeased. And eventually Russia will employ the Mistrals in another act of aggression, thereby making France complicit.

Regrettably, the potential sale of Mistral class ships to Russia appears to spring from worse than unprincipled economics. France’s partnership with Russia, Prime Minister Francois Fillon recently said, “can take several forms in the defense sphere, from military cooperation to close industrial partnership.” Recall that Fillon a day before the April 2008 NATO Bucharest Summit, told France-Inter radio, “We are opposed to the entry of Georgia and Ukraine because we think it is not the right response to the balance of power in Europe and between Europe and Russia.”

It is difficult to imagine what power Fillon imagines France will balance with the sale of Mistrals to Russia. However, one can readily discern Russia’s motivation for the purchase.
Moscow will not soon challenge US Navy dominance of the oceans. The Russian Navy for the foreseeable future will be a green water navy, operating close to home, largely as a complement to Russian land forces. And those forces undergird Russia’s intent to halt NATO’s eastward enlargement, particularly to Georgia and Ukraine; to retain its Black Sea Fleet headquarters in the Ukrainian port of Sevastopol beyond the 2017 expiration of its leasehold; to discourage NATO from planning and exercising the defense of the post Cold War NATO allies; to challenge American cooperation with those allies; and eventually to roll back what it characterizes as encroachment from the west.

“All that we consider ours will remain ours,” said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, toasting the 80th birthday of well known Soviet and Russian foreign policy specialist Yevgeny Primakov. The Baltic Sea, once a Soviet lake, is no doubt one of the places that Putin had in mind. When the Mistral navigated Skagerrak and Kattegat, the straits that lead from the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea into the Baltic Sea, it steamed by the shores of united Germany; by Gdansk, catalyst to the upheavals that toppled the communist world that Putin so reveres; by Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, now NATO members, once occupied but never cowed by the Soviet Union.

On Baltic shores, apart from Saint Petersburg, only Kaliningrad—headquarters of the Baltic Fleet founded by Peter the Great—remains of the world for which Putin yearns. And it was no coincidence, therefore, that in Kaliningrad on September 28, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told Russian troops who had participated in the exercise Zapad 2009, “I am convinced that we will be able to reestablish our navy in the next decade…We need a strong navy.”

And the Mistrals are part of the plan. On inland seas such as the Baltic or the Black Sea, Mistral class ships would make a big difference—and the Russians know it. Referring to Russia’s August 2008 invasion of Georgia, Russian Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Vysotskiy recently remarked, “A ship like that would have allowed the Black Sea Fleet to accomplish its mission in 40 minutes, not 26 hours, which is how long it took us.”

Consequently, the Mistral’s call in Saint Petersburg must capture the attention of every NATO ally. The French sale of Mistral class ships to Russia would be a major adverse geopolitical development and a potential alliance buster—it must be stopped.

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said he does not expect a solution to the long-standing name row with Greece to be found at his meeting Friday with his Greek counterpart George Papandreou.

Attempts are being made to raise expectations for the forthcoming meeting, he told local media on Wednesday, stating that his remarks regarding the talks are not pessimistic but based on realism.

“I expect pleasant discussion, dialogue, exchange of views and also I expect the meeting to contribute to an overall improvement of the atmosphere between Macedonia and Greece. I don’t have any expectations that the meeting will result in a solution to the long-standing issue, that’s been unresolved for 18 years, but I believe that it will give a positive impulse to our relations,” Gruevski said.

Gruevski reiterated Macedonia’s stands in the row.

“Our country fulfilled the required standards, reforms and criteria, and we will proceed with the same commitments in the future” he said.

“Unfortunately, now we are in a situation when things depend on somebody else, and nobody can guarantee the outcome. We will do our outmost to convince the other side that it is important that we solve the problem together. Nonetheless, I cannot guarantee that the other side will do so,” Gruevski concluded.

Officially, the two prime ministers will meet on the sidelines of a regional meeting on climate change to discuss issues related to both countries.

Macedonia has until 7 December to avoid a second stand-off with Greece due to the unresolved name row. Athens has threatened to block a decision by the EU Council to give Macedonia a date for the start of its accession negotiations with the bloc if there is no breakthrough on the name issue.

Last year Athens stopped NATO from extending an invitation to Skopje to join the Alliance, arguing that Skopje’s official name, Republic of Macedonia, implies territorial claims towards Greece’s own northern province which is also called Maceedonia.

The announcedmeting between the two PM’s was greeted by high EU and US officials. The US ambassador to Skopje, Philip Reeker said that the parlay might prove curtail n the solution finding effort.

To celebrate the 26th anniversary of the National Day of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the representative, Hasibe Sahaglu hosted a reception at the Shamadan Hall of the Serena Hotel, which was attended by ambassadors of the CARs and Arab countries and Pakistanis from different walks of life.

The guest of honour was Minister for Industries and Production, Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo and he cut the cake along with the hostess, the ambassadors of Turkey and Azerbaijan against a backdrop of the flags of Pakistan, TRNC and Turkey.

Guests were happy to see the hostess looking well after her recent illness and congratulated her not only on her national day, but on her recovery. It was a cosy and enjoyable reception not too crowded so that invitees had a chance to interact with each other and relax while having their dinner in which cuisine from TRNC was served. Some guests were surprised to see ‘herise’ on the menu which is similar to the Kashmiri ‘harisa’ both in looks and in taste, except that the Kashmiri dish has small kebabs and is a little more oily because onions are browned and spread over before serving.

A young Cypriot lady from the embassy was the centre of attention both of the guests and the cameramen because she wore a peacock blue sari and carried it off very well although she said it was only the third time she had worn one!

On the gents side it was a smart young officer of the Armed Corps, who was wearing the dress uniform of his battalion, drawing admiring remarks. Guests wondered aloud, as to which country he came from with most of them saying Turkey, but they were surprised to learn he was from Pakistan!

Information on the TRNC says politics takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the president is head of state and the prime minister head of government, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the Assembly of the Republic. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

The president is elected for a five-year term. The current president is Mehmet Ali Talat who won the presidential elections on April 17, 2005. The legislature is the Assembly of the Republic, which has 50 members elected by proportional representation from five electoral districts.

In the elections of April 2009, the right-leaning pro-independence National Unity Party defeated incumbent Republican Turkish Party and won an overall majority. Freedom House has classified Northern Cyprus as free in its annual reports for the last several years.

According to an announcement from the White House, United States soldiers will not be in Afghanistan eight years from now. This statement was meant to be some justification for Barack Obama’s new plan to have 30,000 more troops sent to the Mideast over the course of the war, which is currently in its eight year.

This war has been one of the longest, most expensive and unyielding, uneventful wars of the twentieth century – if not all of the above. The cost of this war will run in excess of a million dollars a year for every new troop deployed, adding to the current deficit of $1.4 trillion.

And where will the money for such a war come from? Taxes of course. A new tax – “war taxes” – have been called for in order to fund the fight.

The task of these troops will be to train Afghani soldiers, which means that when American troops are finally withdrawn there will be an American-based democratic government in power, commanding an American-based army, enforcing American-based laws in a post-modern Afghani society with a failed economy.

I’ve never had much of an interest in the war in the Mideast. It bores me for the most part and when something grabs my attention, it usually infuriates me because of an abundance of idiocy or ignorance.

The fact that a needless war, started without cause, that has seen the destruction of at least three countries as well as being the root of the wreckage that is the global economy, is still being allowed to commence and increase in assertion is just plain arrogant.

There has been little to no NATO involvement in peace-keeping. The United Nations have made no attempt at delegations, nor have they tried to impose any sanctions to change the bearing on this event. And while the European Union has no need or reason to be involved in this war, it’s voice has been that of a whimpering, beaten dog obeying it’s owner.

I choose no sides in this war. Anybody who does wrong to someone else, whether they be American or Afghani or Iraqi, should be blamed and punished justly. I have no reason to anger readers with my opinions. I feel I’m simple being honest and blatantly so at that.

With the lack of the internal support from Afghani and Iraqi and Iranian civilians and politics the Americans are fighting a losing battle worse than that of Vietnam, because at least in Vietnam it was their first mistake. Fool me once, and all that.

Obama will address the American people on December first revealing clearly his plans for this daring, costly and potentially hazardous idea.

This really gets better by the day.  The newly formed European Empire who knows no boundaries, literally, appointed a dubious Belgium politician called Rompuy as the EU’s President and a Labour peer who has never stood for election, ever, the aptly named Baroness Ashton as the EU’s Foreign Minister.  People I have never heard of and would most definitely not voted for are now “leading” the European Project into new territory.

Baroness Ashton, the new European Union foreign minister, is facing questions over her role in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament amid claims that it may have had financial links to the Soviet Union.

Not only was she once in the CND, calling for Britain’s disarmament, she is an unelected Labour life peer who helped ram the Lisbon Treaty through the House of Lords.  “I spent 76 hours of my life getting the Lisbon Treaty though the House of Lords. I would very much like to see it come into force,” she is on record as saying.

The UK Independence Party has written to Jose Manuel Barroso, the European Commission President, asking him to investigate whether Lady Ashton was party to payments allegedly made to CND from the Soviet regime in Moscow.

The letter, based on allegations made by Vladimir Bukovsky, a former Soviet dissident, claimed that it is “very likely” that CND received “unidentified income” from Moscow in the 1980s.

“CND was notoriously secretive about its sources of funding and did not submit its accounts to independent audit; however, after public pressure they were audited for the first time in 1982-1983,” Gerard Batten, a Ukip MEP, wrote.

“It was found that 38 per cent of their annual income (£176,197) could not be traced back to the original donors. The person responsible for this part of CND fund-raising, from anonymous donors. . . was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain.”

Only allegations but the financial links between CND and the Communist Party of Great Britain still remain.  And not only that but CND had links with the Communist-linked Labour Party of Old.  Of course, the entire European Union is Government model is a replica of the old Soviet system, democracy only for the chosen, freedom is slavery, that sort of socialist utopia.

Nigel Farage, Ukip’s leader, was officially reprimanded for asking in the European Parliament whether Mr Barroso would to investigate whether Lady Ashton had received money “from enemies of the West”.

He said: “I do not think she is a fit and proper person to do this job.”

Jerzy Buzek, the parliament’s president, has summoned Mr Farage for a meeting where he will be told to “restrain his language and refrain from making improper comments in the chamber” or face disciplinary action.

Lady Ashton’s office declined to discuss CND’s funding in detail. It said that she “left CND in 1983 and had no involvement after that”.

Her spokesman said: “Like many young people in the late 1970s, Catherine Ashton was involved in the big campaigns of the time.

“She never visited the Soviet Union, she had no contacts with the Soviet Union and she never accepted any money from Soviet sources. The first time she ever visited Russia was as trade commissioner. She has never been a member of the Communist Party.”

A CND spokesman described the Ukip claims as “decades-old unsubstantiated allegations”.

Even if Baroness Ashton didn’t know about it, she was in the Commie-infected, Marxist-loving, Labour party so is corrupt by association in my short-sighted (and very much pissed-off) mind.

Yet who to believe in all this.  Lets see.

Motives:  The European Economic Community has become the European Union run by unelected officials who have lied consistently and will continue to do so until the Empire is complete?  Or Soviet Dissidents like Vladimir Bukovsky who is from the USSR and has experienced first hand the horrors of Soviet Style Communism?

Then there is the plausibility of such events occurring.  It is highly likely that Soviet Russia would prefer a Nuke Free Britain.  It would serve their interests.  It is highly likely that the CND, through outside help, would take whatever help was offered in either the misguided hope that Peace would prevail or the perverted desire to see a Communist takeover.

I’ll take my chances with the dissident as the EU has told too many porkies.

Solution:  Treason needs to be re-instated as a hanging offence.  It will get rid of the corrupted and also employ over 20 million people, from the executioners to the undertaker, burger stands and programmes, live entertainment.  All Parties opposed to the Big Three, the Gov’t Cartel, the Three Stooges, Liblabcon, the Corruptibles, the liars, cheats and traitors, time to start spreading the message, NOT YOUR PARTY MESSAGE but by constantly reminding all and sundry of the nefarious activities of the State apparatus in the hands of the Crooked and Corrupted.

My only fear now is that our complete enslavement is not long away, for if the EU flexes it’s muscles now it has control over the whole of Europe, we shall not be allowed to leave peacefully.  What they will pull out of the hat is anyone’s guess but just like the Baroness, it will be for the Greater Good of Europe, or so they will tell us.

We are suffering the death of a thousand pricks and will soon be in the morgue, we need resuscitation fast for if we are to survive as a Nation.  We are constantly fed the fear of death by war, death by disease, death by CO2, and if we’re really naughty, no doubt the hairy runts’ would bring out the scriptures and inform us of our impending doom from the four horsemen of the fucking apocalypse.

Those who can, should.  Next chance you get, take it.  When people have nothing left to lose, they have everything to gain.

Pay attention to what he says and how they use scare tactics to attempt to persuade us into their web of lies.

But if there is not a real global warming then why would we allow and need the hundreds if not thousands of new taxes that will be placed on evey person, industry, and just about anything you can think of in the world? It would be deemed absolutely unnecessary.

The number of species of plants, animals, and microorganisms, the enormous diversity of genes in these species, the different ecosystems on the planet, such as deserts, rainforests and coral reefs are all part of a biologically diverse Earth.

   

    Appropriate conservation and sustainable development strategies attempt to recognize this as being integral to any approach. Almost all cultures have in some way or form recognized the importance that nature, and its biological diversity has had upon them and the need to maintain it. Yet, power, greed and politics have affected the precarious balance.

It is feared that human activity is causing massive extinctions. From various animal species, forests and the ecosystems that forests support, marine life. Large sums of money promised to developing countries to tackle climate change aid are unaccounted for, according to the BBC. A BBC investigation has found that it is not possible to verify whether the 410 million US dollars a year pledged by industrialised countries in the 2001 Bonn Declaration has actually been paid or not. The annual payments, due to run until 2008, should have totalled 2.87 billion US dollars. However, the BBC reports that only 260 million US dollars have ever been paid into two United Nations funds earmarked for the purpose. The European Union claims the climate change aid was paid out in bilateral deals, but it has no data to prove it. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has accused industrialised countries of failing to keep their promise.

31.03.09 What do you think about Obama’s ultimatum to Chrysler and G.M. and Chrysler’s merger deal with the Italian company “Fiat”? The president of the United States, Barack Obama, has asked yesterday Chrysler and General Motors to change a lot in a fast way or face bankruptcy. Obama gave the first company one month and the second one 6o days to change.

Meanwhile Rick Wagoner, G.M.’s former chief executive, has retired involuntarily in this deal and, as for Chrysler, the American government has asked it to complete the Fiat merger till April 30 or have taxpayer help cut off. In case of a conclusion of the deal the gain for the American automaker should be $6 billion in additional taxpayer aid. Last, but not least this is what I wrote some months ago.

I would like to write more about the automakers in the Usa when I will have more time. In the meantime I refer to Barack Obama’s opinion about Bush’s announcement.  President’s actions – it is the most important point in Obama’s response – “are a necessary step to help avoid a collapse in our auto industry that would have devastating consequences for our economy and our workers”. Then Obama addresses the societies in an indirect way: “The auto companies – it is his opinion, but I think it is a general opinion – must not squander this chance to reform bad management practices and begin the long-term restructuring that is absolutely required to save this critical industry and the millions of American jobs that depend on it”.

A Letter to the Presidents of the Hemisphere

Dear Presidents,

I write you in my role as President of Honduras, valuing the excellent relations between our countries and in defense of the democracy violated in Honduras as consequence of the Military Coup d’Etat perpetrated June 28 of this year, when soldiers invaded my home and at gunpoint kidnapped and took me to Costa Rica.

The National Congress forged my resignation letter and, abusing its power, emitted an illegal decree which “separated me from the charge of Constitutional President” without Constitutional backing to do so. The same was the case for the arrest order that the Court had emitted without having received any legal complain and without my having been cited to appear before any tribunal or trial. It has been condemned and described by all the countries of the world as a violent and surprising rupture of democratic order, a Military Coup d’Etat.

At this moment in Honduras we are in a de facto State. There is no Constitution. Nor are there Constitutional powers because they have been destroyed by force by the military Coup d’Etat on that ominous day of June 28, 2009.

The Constitution of the Republic establishes in Article 3: “No one owes obedience to an usurper government, nor to those who occupy public positions or jobs by the force of weapons or using means or procedures that bankrupt or fail to recognize what the Constitution and the law establishes. Those actions by so-called authorities are null and void. The people have the right to insurrection to defend the Constitutional order.”

In reading that article, you can understand that the Honduran people are legally empowered to act using all means, styles and forms that they consider necessary to restore democracy. We have consciously taken the path of peaceful resistance, with the goal of establishing noncooperation and nonviolence like methods of civil disobedience and twenty-first century popular struggle against the rise of military force.

We thank the entire international community for your support for our labor to reconstruct the State of Law, that being the last effort of the poorly reached Tegucigalpa-San José Accord, backed by the OAS and the US Department of State. Its letter and spirit has as its proposal the “return of the title the executive branch to what it was prior to June 28.” And it was openly violated by the de facto regime which in which Mr. Micheletti pretends to head a government of reconciliation, refusing to convene the National Congress, in definitive noncompliance of the timeline and text.

Now, unilaterally, he seeks to utilize the aborted accord by convening the National Congress on December 2, a date upon which the political actors of the accord will have been substantially modified, in the sense that by then they will have already been submitted to the opinion ofthe voters without having restored Constitutional order.

The elections of November 29 and their use of public funds under a de facto regime, without having previously restored democracy and the State of Law as OAS and UN resolutions demand, without even having installed the government of unity and reconciliation, are illegal, illegitimate, and constitute a criminal act.

At the moment that the de facto regime with its soldiers convenes a spurious electoral process under repression, without legal guarantees, and without a political agreement, in which the military dictatorship is the guarantor of the law, it only strengthens its actions of force and impunity.

Precisely today, Channel 36, property of journalist Esdras Amado López, the only television chain that has opposed the regime, has had its signal blocked and taken off the air by the dictatorship.

The de facto regime has frontally disregarded the resolutions of the OAS, the UN and the European Union. It has also violated the Democratic Charter of the OAS and its resolutions while some of Honduras’ friends among countries demonstrate ambiguity and support for the electoral process without having restored democratic order and without political dialogue. That permits the de facto regime to impose its will by force.

As President of Honduras, I communicate with you to say that below these conditions I will not back the electoral process and will proceed to challenge it legally in the name of the men and women of my country and of hundreds of community leaders that suffer the loss of democracy, the repression, the unfair circumstances and the suppression of freedom.

These elections have to be annulled and rescheduled to when the sovereign will of the people is respected.

In these difficult moments for our brother countries of América, we ask for your solidarity with Honduras.

    * That you accompany us based on the facts that you know, reiterating the position of not supporting a unilateral intent to give validity to an accord that was quickly rescinded by the violations consummated by the dictatorship.
    * Reaffirming the condemnation of the coup d’etat of the military State and not supporting a de facto regime whose existence today shames all the peoples of Latin América Latina, that after all the attempts by the international community to reverse the coup d’etat have ended in a total failure for everyone.
    * Appealing to maintain your firmness in the execution of the resolutions passed by the OAS and the UN and not adopting ambiguous and imprecise positions like those displayed today by the government of the United States of America, with whose final posture has weakened the process of reversing the coup d’etat, demonstrating division in the international community. By feeding this coup d’etat the democratic security in the hemisphere and the stability of the Presidents of América is put at risk, with the resurgence of military castes over civil authority. Legitimizing coups d’etat by means of spurious electoral processes divides and does not contribute to the unity of the nations of América.
    * I ask for your cooperation so that this Military Coup d’Etat its bloody violations of human rights do not go unpunished. Already, the International Criminal Court has received complaints and allowed them to proceed to trial to obtain justice for our people and apply the corresponding sanctions to those who committed treason to the Nation and crimes against humanity in Honduras.
    * We voice our energetic rejection of those who support the maneuvers to launder the coup d’etat, covering up for the golpistas to leave their crimes protected.
    * With our full attention, we invite all the nations to recognize our government and that they abstain from supporting the actions of the illegal regime that usurped power by force of weapons.
    * We cordially demand and exhort your representatives to the OAS and the UN to continue defending and supporting the rights of the people and of the legitimately elected governments, since when one of our nations suffers an assault it is an affront to all América; and, each time a government elected by the peoples of América is toppled, violence and terrorism win and Democracy suffers a defeat.

In wait of your response, I appreciate the invaluable support demonstrated until now for these principles and I send you greetings reiterating my esteem and my highest consideration.

EU telecoms chief Viviane Reding has warned that the European Commission would take action against Spain if the government moves to cut the internet access of content pirates. Earlier this year, France introduced new legislation that cuts off internet access to copyright scofflaws and the UK is expected to present similar legislation in the coming weeks. Spain is also understood to be looking into such measures, but the government has yet to announce any new laws. Ms Reding said that she had been “following with interest the discussions in Spain” and warned the government not to consider measures that ran afoul of the European-level protections of the rights of internet users. She argued that the development of a single European market for online content was a superior path to take to counter internet piracy, lamenting the fragmentation of copyright law across the EU
