Pe astăzi m-am hotărât, cam cu greu ce-i drept, să scriu un post despre o parte din cele mai ”delicioase” colaborări, din punctul meu de vedere, între diverse trupe şi diverşi artişti. Poate în viitorul apropiat voi mai face posturi de acest gen, în caz că prind bine.

Încep cu capitolul Apocalyptica. Cei care au ascultat vreodata Apocalyptica ştiu foarte bine că aceasta e o trupă total diferită de orice altceva aţi asculta. Diferenţa asta o face faptul că membrii trupei interpretează piese rock pe 4 respectiv 3 violoncele. Ei au început ca trupă de cover pentru Metallica, dovadă fiind şi sufixul numelui. În orice caz, după primul album (”Plays Metallica by Four Cellos”) care e constituit integral din cover-uri Metallica, băieţi au început încet încet să îşi facă propriile piese, dar totushi neîndepărtându-se total de la vechiile obiceiuri, ajungând să facă cover-uri pe Faith No More, Pantera, David Bowie, Rammstein etc.

Revenind la subiectul principal al articolului, de-a lungul celor 7 albume ale trupei, aceştia au făcut diverse colaborări care mai de care mai reuşite. Nu le voi lua în ordine cronologică pentru că nu le ştiu, şi pentru că sunt prea ardelean in momentele de faţa să caut pe net.

În schimb am să încep cu prima, şi anume ”Hope vol.2”. Încep cu această piesă deoarece de obicei când o ascult îmi dă o oarecare stare de euforie. O voce de care nu mulţi oameni ştiu, dar valorificată de Apocalyptica pe bună dreptate, Matthias Sayer, vocalistul trupei Farmer Boys, face din originala ”Hope” o piesă mult mai… interesantă.

A doua piesă, ”S.O.S.”, sau  ”Anything but Love”, colaborare extrem de reuşită a trupei cu Cristina Scabbia, solista trupei Lacuna Coil. Piesa e extrem de reuşită, mesajul e foarte clar trimis, intrumentalul de asemenea este extrem de bun, nu că am putea avea alte aşteptări din partea Apocalypticei.

A treia şi ultima piesă pe care o menţionez de la Apocalyptica în acest post, este binecunoscuta ”Bittersweet”. Posibil cea mai cunoscută colaborare a trupei cu alţi muzicieni, ”Bittersweet” combină cu un succes incontestabil vocea lui Ville Valo (HIM) cu vocea lui Lauri Ylonen (The Rasmus) cu instrumentalul tipic Apocalyptica. Nu sunt sigur că experienţa ”Bittersweet” poate fi descrisă la modul general, cred că diferă de la individ la individ, şi singurul mod să afli cum ţi se pare este să o ascultţi.

Pentru că nu vreau să mă axez în totalitate pe Apocalyptica în acest articol, las celelalte piese pentru nişte posturi viitoare.

O altă colaborare foarte reuşită, pe care eu personal am ascultat-o zile la rând cu mici pauze, este ”Broken”, colaborare între Seether şi Amy Lee. Original, piesa nu conţine vocea solistei de la Evanescence, dar ulterior Seether au făcut un cover pe propria piesă, featuring Amy Lee. Rezultatul a fost foarte reuşit, vocea artistei potrivindu-se aproape perfect cu vocea solistului de la Seether. Oricine a ascultat vreodata Evanescence, ştie foarte bine de capabilităţile vocale deosebite ale solistei. Păstrându-şi tenta Seether, piesa îşi schimbă sunetul datorită vocalistei şi, după părerea mea, mesajul este mult mai clar.

Ultima piesă pe care am s-o menţionez în acest articol este ”Lily was Here”, colaborare între Dave Stewart şi Candy Dulfer. Ştiu că nu sunteţi obişnuiţi cu astfel de exemple din partea mea, dar piesa era prea ”sexy” să nu o menţionez măcar. Ascultaţi cu încredere dar aveţi grijă că piesa provoacă diferite stări ”spirituale”. La ce să te aştepţi altcumva de la o combinaţie între chitară şi saxofon?

De-a lungul articolelor trecute, am mai enumerat diverse piese de genul, diverse ”featuringuri” cum ar fi ” I Don’t Care” (Apocalyptica & Adam Gontier) sau în special ”Lucky” (Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat).

Acestea fiind spuse, vă las să ascultaţi în pace piesele precizate. Sper că v-am sporit curiozitatea cu acest articol, şi vă las cu mioriticul Numa’ Bine!

Adoro no ir a las excursiones

Depois de duas semanas após o show, eu meio que acordei e vi que não, aquilo não foi um sonho. E foi o melhor dia da minha vida, a melhor semana da minha vida. Foi inesquecível e compensou todo o cansaço de passar mais de 24 horas acordada sem poder dormir nem no avião; as conexões imbecis; as brigas com a mãe; a saudade de casa e do meu amor; a virose seguindo de uma sinusite assim que cheguei aqui.
Valeu a pena passar por tudo isso e gastar todo esse dinheiro – mesmo passando por uma má fase financeira. Eu amei cada minutinho, cada segundinho dessa viagem e desse show e tô muito feliz de finalmente ter realizado o meu maior sonho desde os nove anos.
Amy, Terry, Tim, vocês ‘tavam lindos! Eu não me importo de não ter pegado uma das palhetas que eles jogaram, ganhado o meet&greet ou de ter ido ao hotel – claro que seria bem melhor, mas só de ir ao show e ver vocês de pertinho me fez chorar de felicidade como eu nunca chorei na vida. :~

Esse foi o melhor presente de aniversário de todos. Evanescence. ♥

Evanescence played a secret show earlier this month! And now most of the band members are on Twitter (and have been for a while!). I can’t believe it took me this long to find out. I haven’t been to Evanescence.com  in too long. I stopped checking it awhile ago. I guess I should have. I miss them but am very excited that they are back at it. It kind of inspires me to get back to the piano and writing and stuff.

So what are ya’ll doing for Thanksgiving? I’m not doing anything. That’s right you heard me, nothing. I’ve decided to take a break from the Holidays this year: no time, no money, no Holiday spirit. Yep me. No Holiday spirit. Some people would be surprised about that. I guess it is a part of growing up. You can no longer pretend that the Holidays are so great. So cheerful. No more Santie Claus. I am watching the Thanksgiving Day parade tho. Can’t break tradition (well not all traditions, that doesn’t can’t as celebrating it does it?)

Radio stations are playing Christmas music non-stop again. I turn them on and feel nothing where usually I’d be soooooo excited that Christmas was coming! Not anymore. Maybe again but not now. Not this year.

I feel I’m being dramatic.

Actually talking about drama! Adam Lambert. I liked his performance. Thought it was thought provoking. I would just like to ask: Why did no one think Lady Gaga’s performance was racy if they thought his was?

That’s all I’m sayin’.

My AF classes ended. They were really good and looking back on them fun! I love painting and this class really did remind me why I love it. I think I don’t actually suck at it too. That’s nice too know. I think next weekend I am devoting to music and painting. It’s time I started doing things I love again.

I got Windows 7 in the mail. I haven’t switched over to it yet though. Am kind of scared. I don’t want Windows 7 paint I like the original paint. Yeah I know ridiculous. But paint is the simplest program to use, that’s why I love it. Don’t change that!

Laptop battery is low. Must be going. More to come (maybe). And if I don’t write again before then (which it’s unlikely I will) Happy Thanksgiving!  (Which I’m not participating in so not happy anything to me.)

This track brings back good memories of when G&D were on top of the electronic dance music world. Their productions were amazing back then and couldn’t be matched. If you’ve never heard this before, you’re in for a treat. This track is dark yet beautiful. Listen to this remix and then listen to the original. Tuttut. Je zou zo langzamerhand gaan denken dat Evanescence (= Engels voor vergankelijkheid, voor de nitwits) is blijven hangen de laatste keer dat ze rond middernacht een kerkhof bezocht, want dat doen gothics graag. In 2006 kwam immers haar laatste album uit en sindsdien lijkt ze van de aardbodem verdwenen.

Maar niets is minder waar mensen. Amy Lee leeft! Althans, 9 uur geleden (op moment van schrijven) gaf ze nog een teken van leven. En alsof dat nog niet genoeg is is ze ook nog eens bezig met een 3e album! In juni reeds kondigde mevrouw op haar site aan dat er in 2010 een nieuwe langspeelplaat gaat verschijnen. Naar eigen zeggen wordt het album een evolutie van vorig werk: “Better, stronger and more interesting.” Mijn zegen heb je hoor, Amy. Maar ik hoop wel dat je wat minder hard gaat schreeuwen dan op het vorige album.

“OMG!  Edward Cullen is so hot!  The Twilight books are like so amazing!  I would do anything to live in that world!  Did I mention how hot Edward Cullen is?”  If I just induced you to vomitus, my job is done.  Oh wait, no it’s not, because my job is to paint a picture of why the world would be better off without these “Twi-hards,” or as they should be know, “Twi-tards.”  The tween world is all abuzz with the opening of Twilight: New Moon today in theaters.  Teenage girls with their fellow obsessives, will be lining up today, ready to cut someone’s throat if they don’t get in to see the movie based on the second of Stephanie Meyer’s books.

I can get on board with the Trekkies, the Star Wars nerds, and even the Harry Potter dorks, because at least the worlds created in those sagas were imaginative and thought provoking.  This Twilight piece of shit on the other hand, is nothing more than an overly melodramatic “Romeo and Juliet” set amidst the world of teenage vampires.  Oh!  How novel!  The fact of the matter is that the world purported in “Twilight” doesn’t have anything going for it besides fairly attractive star crossed lovers.  Fuck this franchise!

The idea of vampires glowing in the daylight would be deemed universally retarded.
We wouldn’t have to endure the pussification of vampires at the hands of Stephanie Meyers.
The internet would be significantly faster without the Twi-hards refreshing every “Twilight” fan site every 30 seconds.
Hot Topic would have to file for Chapter 11 after the hit of no one buying “I Heart Edward Cullen” t-shirts anymore.
Shakespeare wouldn’t have to come back from the dead and bitch slap Stephanie Meyers for desecrating the sanctity of “Romeo and Juliet” with her unoriginal stories.
People would realize that if they want to watch vampires and werewolves fight, they should watch the Underworld movies.  They’re a lot more fun and you get Kate Beckinsale in black latex.
• No one would have to endure the clip montages of these crappy movies with some shitty song by Evanescence or equally angsty garbage in the background:

• We could move past the vampire fad finally and onto the next fad to take the country by storm…UNICORNS!

Do me a favor?  If you’re going to the multiplex this weekend, avoid New Moon like the plague.  And while you’re at it, avoid 2012, because god knows, that movie doesn’t deserve another fucking dollar.  If everyone in the entire world avoids going to see New Moon, maybe, just maybe, we can avoid the next 28 Twilight films that are already in pre-production.  Oh who am I kidding?  This movie is probably going to break some box office record for “most misunderstood tweens in a theater at the same time,” in addition to making buttloads of cash.  So go, you Twi-hards, stand in line for hours in your one size too big Twilight t-shirts, and have your mental orgasms as you watch your silly little movie.  Me?  I’d rather go watch Precious, a movie about an inner city black teen who gets impregnated by her father twice and is mercilessly abused by her mother.  Yeah, I’d rather watch that depressing piece of shit than New Moon.

But one has to have dreams right?

Si iata cum duc eu conversatii inteligente cu alti oameni inteligenti. Daca nu ar fi de greselile astea ( de ce o fac ei nu stiu ! ) , poate apasa pe alta tasta sau e din cauza centralei sau poate chiar a stat o Aura Dumitru pe aici candva inaintea mea si si-a facut cont la BRD si a uitat sa schimbe datele de contact cand s-a mutat. Evanescence – Call me when you’re sober

Je blogue léger ces jours (semaines) ci, j’espère que vous m’en pardonnerez.

Le mode shuffle (à prononcer en français, c’est bien plus drôle) de mon iTunes m’a rappelé quelque chose que j’avais depuis longtemps oublié. J’ai nommé le pouvoir dépressif d’une chanson. Suffit d’écouter une chanson particulière et, pouaf, t’as juste envie de te morpondre. Je crois bien que tous possèdent une chanson particulièrement efficace dans ce domaine.

De mon côté, il s’agit de My Immortal d’Evanescence. Damn! Ça fesse une joie de vivre cette maudite chanson là! C’est impressionnant ce que des vibrations sonores peuvent créer comme sentiments chez l’être humain. Bon je n’entrerai pas en mode philosophique plus que ça, je vous le promets. Après tout, je ne suis pas saoûl. (Malheureusement)

Et vous, quelles sont les tounes qui vous font voyager dans le vaste univers des émotions? Que ce soit du bonheur, de la rage, de la faim (mettons) ou de la déprime, lâchez-vous lousse. Je veux vous entendre. (Ou plutôt vous lire)

Hmm. I dunno if it’s stress getting to me or hunger or something.. but my head and stomach are hurting a bit. I should be doing college apps and working on my calculus notebook and my senior board presentation and whatnot but I felt like posting this instead. Anyway.

Good song. I was getting a little -_-;; by all the facebook statuses I saw about it, but it’s good and the music video’s pretty cool~ I would post it as my facebook status too, but then I’d be the same as the kpop fanboys/girls on Facebook. haha. maybe i will later.

I laughed sooo hard at the part where the dude comes over to them on the couch and pops out of the car. Like “Hey guys!” puahaha.

I liked how you could hear the simple tune of the traditional wedding song.

And I can relate to it. All too well.

I was listening to some Evanescence songs earlier, and now Wedding Dress reminds me of My Immortal. Lyrically, that is.

Have you ever been in a remotely similiar situation as this? For example, where you’re talking with someone you’ve just met and you get your iPod out, and so you ask them what kind of music they like. And they reply, “oh, lots. I like lots of different genres”. You give them your iPod, and they hate every single fricking song.

I honestly love all kinds of music. I’ve been getting into gothic metal (Evanescence, Within Temptation) over the past year, and I’ve also really liked stuff like Linkin Park, System of a Down etc. Nu Metal, I think the genre is?

Now, I’m starting to like British rap. There’s just something that I absolutely love about the London accent that rappers like Dizzee Rascal have. I pick up that accent really easily, I end up using it when I meet my second cousin.. I don’t really like any other rap, except for Eminem. His songs are actually entertaining y’know? You don’t have to be really into rap to enjoy them. Click more, for the music videos etc.

Tinchy Stryder’s You’re not alone (in Sugar they had an article about where they went to the filming (or atleast the beginning) of this music video, he sounds really sweet). There’s just something about how he says on in you keep holding on that I love

I’m avoiding my thoughts right now and won’t bother talking about how I feel, not today. My main distraction has been obsessing over all things Evanescence since hearing about the two live shows they’ve done recently. Let me make it through 2010 to hear their new album….Anyway, this performance of Whisper (at the NYC show) has me hooked. Just watching the energy of everyone is so great and the end sounds too cool. The video is one of the few good quality shots someone took while at the show. I’m so glad they uploaded it.
