This is Hiromi, I don’t blog often, but I thought this would be a great opportunity to do so because I want to express how grateful I am for you all to join the open hairstyling class last week! I really appreciate Mr. Shuichi Tanaka for sending us one of his top stylists, Keisuke Nakamura, to teach us the new trendy techniques from Japan! Keisuke was an inspiring stylist who taught us many new techniques and idea storming for the latest Japanese hair trends within only three days!
Through those three days, it made me realize again how much I love cutting and styling hair because there’s never a point where I’ll get bored. The industry of hair profession only keeps growing and I always keep learning; there’s never an end! Being a hairstylist is such a sensational life style; learning and being inspired all the time, it’s amazingly refreshing and fun! That’s why I can’t stop working! No matter how old I become, styling hair will always be something I love to do.
Whoever wants to learn new cutting technique and styling, join us next time! We are definitely excited and ready to do this class again next year! Thank you so much, Mr. Tanaka and Keisuke!

مایکل جکسون، پس از مرگ نیز توانست با برنده شدن ۴ جایزه مختلف، رکورد تازه ای را در به دست آوردن جوایز موسیقی آمریکا از خود به جای بگذارد. هر چند جایزه محبوب ترین چهره موسیقی سال به «تیلورسویفت» خواننده  ۱۹ ساله و نورسیده صحنه موسیقی «کانتری» Country Music  یا موسیقی فولکلوریک آمریکا تعلق گرفت. این جایزه یکی از تنها جوایزاصلی مراسم اهدای جوایز American Music Awards یا (AMA) بود که به مایکل جکسون فقید تعلق نگرفت. جکسون تاکنون مجموعا ۵ نشان پیروزی جوایز موسیقی آمریکا را از آن خود ساخته است

پیروزی های مایکل جکسون و تیلورسویفت در طول یک برنامه هنری مفصل با حضور هنرمندان سرشناس موسیقی آمریکا اعلام شد. برنامه ای که با یک قطعه موسیقی با تم شهوانی توسط «آدام لمبرت» Adam Lambert، خواننده ای که معروفیت خود را از شرکت در مسابقات تلویزیونی «آمریکن آیدل»American Idol به دست آورده است به پایان رسید

چهار جایزه مایکل جکسون را برادر او«جرمین جکسون» دریافت کرد که به یاد برادر از دست رفته اش یک دستکش جواهرنشان سفید به دست کرده بود. جرمین دو بار هنگام دریافت این جوایز برای مایکل جکسون از «رحمت های الهی که خداوند براو و خانواده اش عرضه کرده است» سپاسگزاری کرد. او ضمن این سخنرانی کوتاه قبول جایزه، نام یک یک برادران و خواهران خود را تکرارکرد و گفت: «پیام عشق مایکل از همه جوایز دنیا مهم تراست».

«لیدی گاگا» با یک پوشش و کلاه فضایی غیرمتعارف و جلیقه ای که با چراغ های نئون تزئین شده بود وارد صحنه شد. او چند قطعه از برخی از ترانه های آلبوم تازه خود به نام «The fame Monster» را برای حاضران اجرا کرد. این آلبوم ازهفته آینده درسراسر دنیا به فروش خواهد رسید و انتظار می رود تبدیل به یکی ازپرفروش ترین آلبوم های تازه موسیقی پاپ شود. «لیدی گاگا» ضمن اجرای برنامه با میکروفنی که به دست داشت یک جعبه آینه را که در داخل آن پیانویی قرار گرفته بود شکست. پیانویی که به محض آن که «لیدی گاگا» پشت آن نشست عمدا شعله ورشد!

جوایز موسیقی آمریکا یا American Music Awards هر سال در۸ رده بندی مختلف به پرفروش ترین ستارگان دنیای موسیقی آمریکا اهدا می شود. با این حال تمرکز مراسم اهدای این جوایز بیش از هر چیز بر روی اجرای برنامه توسط این هنرمندان و ستارگان محبوب و سرشناس است. به همین جهت نیز این برنامه ها همواره سرشار از اجراهای ابتکاری و پیش بینی نشده توسط چهره های جوان و مطرح موسیقی امروز آمریکا می باشد

گروه Black Eyed Pees به عنوان محبوب ترین گروه موسیقی پاپ موفق به دریافت جایزه شد. گروهی که با اجرای تازه ای از یکی از دو ترانه محبوب و پرطرفدار خود «I got a feeling » و «Boom boom Pow» جمعیت حاضر در محل اهدای جوایز را به شدت به هیجان آورد.

گروه رقاصان با لباس هایی که به شکل بلندگوی دستگاه پخش صدا ساخته شده بود، روی صحنه هنرمندان دیگری چون «فرگی»، «تابو» و «Wil.I.am» را همراهی می کردند. اجراهای پرشوری که در نهایت با نمونه ای از یکی از آثار گروه «نیروانا» به پایان رسید.

«ریحانا» خواننده و مدل زاده جزیره «باربدوس» یک بار دیگر با حضور خود بر روی صحنه اهدای جوایز «AMA» شور و شوقی درمیان تماشاگران ایجاد کرد. ریحانا، با موهای بلوند و لباس سراسری تنگ وچسبان درحالیکه که روی گردنش کلمه «Rated R»  نام آلبوم تازه خود را خالکوبی کرده بود بر روی صحنه به اجرای برنامه پرداخت

جانت جکسون، برنامه یکشنبه شب را با چند ترانه از محبوب ترین آثار خود گشود. این ترانه ها از تازه ترین آلبوم این خواننده که آن هم « Number Ones» نام دارد انتخاب شده بود. آلبومی که تا پیش از پایان امسال منتشر خواهد شد.

ازدیگر ستارگان موسیقی حاضر در مراسم AMA، آلیشیا کیز، شکیرا و گروه رقاصان همراهش، کلی کلارکسون، ستاره برنده جایزه «آمریکن آیدل» بود که آوازش با یک ارکستر مجلسی همراهی می شد و جنیفر لوپز که ضمن اجرای یک رقص پرتحرک لغزید و زمین خورد!

InsideOut Founder Terry Blackhawk, City Wide Poet Lena Cintron, and First Lady Michelle Obama at the Coming Up Taller Award Ceremony 2009

InsideOut Literary Arts Project, a member of the WITS Alliance headquartered in Detroit, has been nationally recognized as one of 15 youth arts and humanities programs to receive the prestigious 2009 Coming Up Taller Award. They received the award for City Wide Poets, an after school writing and performance program. For more information, click here.

On Sunday, November 22nd, Gloria Stuart’s Flight of Butterfly Kites exhibition had it’s opening reception at Buckwild. Hiromi Paper staff was there to help out, (if you were there, we would be the ones serving at the bar!) It was a great opening, the place was buzzing all night, with and around Gloria who was there until the end.

The Green Gift Fair was this past weekend in Minneapolis.  What a great time!  I did not get to look around, I would have loved to have taken an hour or so, but it was still great!  I was so happy to see so many people both producing and supporting green products.  Environmental issues have always been big with me growing up in the age of Woodsy, Smokey and the crying Indian.  I got to try out my new booth set up and learned even more than I did the last two shows.

I would like to share a couple green artists that I really liked.

The first KM STITCHERY is recycled, reused, and ethical!

Sylvia Plath

She used hand cut stencils and repurposed clothing to make great creations.  She works with famous women of history, another love of mine.  Woman’s studies in college opened my eyes to these great women and what they did not only for women but for mankind.  She will take custom orders and is in many shops across the country.  Stop by and check out her work.

Next is Mirasol Farms

Sweet Earth Soap

They do organic soap, creams and other great skin care items.  The sample soap I got has the most wonderful aroma and is one of the most incredible soaps I have ever used.  I will be stopping by their shop to purchase more!

My booth while closer to what I am looking for, I am only making a few minor changes before my next show.  Most of the changes are going to come with my product lines.  I am excited!

Slings

I love my new sling set up.  The addition of the hanging lady really helped.  People would come over to check out the bags.  The only change I will be doing with this set up is putting the slings on a waterfall hook, I hope that will free up some more room.

Stockings

The rack a friend made me worked great for my stockings at this show.  We painted it green despite the outrage of my friend.  And found out at this show that I can make it look how ever we need.  This show it worked best with just the two rails.

Time to get back to work.  I am working on some big changes for my shops and product line.  I hope to have the shops back open late tonight early tomorrow with a big sale!

Bai Ling just added herself on the already impressive list of stars who drawn the public attention with a “miss fortunate” incident that involves a nipple and some paparazzi. But the beautiful actress born in China opened her cleavage in a totally inadequate situation.

The star went to a fundraiser for a children hospital without wearing anything under her jacket. So the inevitable has occurred and the Asian made the unfortunate move, leaving her breast to the paparazzi’s flashes.

If you really want to advertise yourself, you may appeal to this trick in another circumstance, not at a children charity.

This weekend the Backyard Bang went off in downtown Denver at the Art Institute. Milling through the crowd during the morning set up, some of the first people to be found were local Echo fans that had come out to enjoy a day of shred and to support the Echo Team. High fives were distracted hellos as everyone’s attention was on the 3 stories of scaffolding in the middle of the intersection. With so many familiar faces showing up early on, the day was shaping out to be a promising one.

Tucked between tall city buildings in the shadow of the capital building, the setup took shape with 3 options; a down flat down rail, a gap to down box and a rolling down box complete with hubba options. After a warm up session of testing out features and figuring out tricks the competitors were unleashed in 3 different heats. Echo Team riders Collin Backowski, Andrew Burns, Seth Hill, Nick Brewer and Marc Moline got after it early with Seth, Nick and Marc all making the finals.

In the Finals there was no holding back as bruised and bloodied competitors threw down banger after banger and kept going back for more. In the end however, only one person walked away with the $2000, Six Eight Six team rider Forrest Bailey. With so many familiar faces and a great showing from the Echo Team, the Backyard Bang was an amazing event. Thanks to everyone who came out to show their support and thanks to the Team for throwing down.

Fuji Speedway is the place to be this time of the year as two of the biggest events of the calendar are hosted at the international circuit. I am of course talking about the Toyota Motorsports Festival and the Nismo Festival, which this year are held within two weeks of each other. This past weekend was Toyota’s turn, which managed to attract a pretty impressive 28,000 people to the freezing race track in order to celebrate the past year’s achievements in motorsport.
