Equilibrium is determined by the interaction of given supply and demand curves. But what about changes in supply and demand? Such changes can be interpreted as shifts of the supply, curve, of the demand curve, or both at once.

Perhaps as a result of altered preferences, buyers suddenly want to continue more of some good at each possible price. This is called an increase of demand. The basic technique in analyzing some economic change will be to ask: Is the change reflected in a shift of supply, or a shift of demand (or possibly, of both)? It will be immediately evident that an increase in demand alone leads to an increase in both equilibrium price and equilibrium quantity. An increase in supply leads to an increase in equilibrium quantity, but to a decrease in equilibrium price.

It is sometimes useful to distinguish between those sources of change originating “outside” and those originating “inside” the economic system. The “outside” sources of variation include” 1) Changes in tastes, 2) changes in technology, changes in resources, and 3) changes in resources, and 4) changes in the political-legal system. All these changes can be regarded, in some degree at least, as originating autonomously rather than in response to economic factors.

Snitching

In a society that thrives on images and adapts to lifestyles that aren’t necessarily belonging to everyone, the term snitching seems to saturate the topic of conversation. Taking a factual approach we find that snitching is to become an informant or revealing confidential information. Now no one can stand a rat or an untrustworthy comrade. Betrayal is a hard act to forgive and accept. There is no room for snitching or squealing. Or is it? As I’ve lived on this earth and walked the turf of many neighborhoods, every place has their own code of doing things. But across the board snitching is not allowed! To snitch or not to snitch. That really is the question! I’ve experienced and witnessed the misuse and manipulation of the law and grew a bitter feeling for a lot of the judicial system. I feel it’s better to resolve matters without the law due to this. They are human also! But as I grow wiser I place things in perspective. Due to not snitching: a father sits incarcerated not being able to raise his children, while his comrades are supposedly taking care of them. Due to not snitching the dope boys and out of control “children” run and ruin the neighborhood; with elders and kids afraid to go outside. Due to not snitching a girl grows up into a battered, abused, and sexually violated woman. Now I could respect this code of not snitching if morals were in order. If a person is flat out wrong or guilty, that sucker should own up to his “mess-ups”. What’s weird today though is everyday people seem to hold allegiance to those out doing wrong. And these everyday people are not affiliated with it or benefiting from it at all. Okay maybe they get to lie under the bed in fear of their life being taken but let’s not boast. I can even understand someone not snitching due to fright. They have to live there. But when the tables are turned and it is your house that has been burglarized or your child that has been murdered; what do people ask for on the evening news? In a pitiful voice, “Please turn yourself in” or “If anyone knows anything please call this number”. Well it is only what we are allowing!

POINT BLANK:

A lot of kids are compromised into bad situations and positions because they have no outlet and feel if they did tell they would be considered a snitch. They succumb to a messed up situation with someone they had no affiliation with. But what if he/she looks up to someone that promotes such a hush lifestyle. Hmmmm!

i just called to say how stupid i was when i locked the door…but will i ever change my ways?

Actual firm relationships must be seen on a spectrum between outright competition at one end and collusion at the other. At the very least, such a self-evident observation raises the issue of the firm (or business unit) as the basic, and often only, unit of analysis: in certain circumstances we might more appropriately consider an information coalition of such firms as the key unit.

Earlier, the border of the company was seen as the dividing line between co-operation and conflict – cooperation within the company and conflict in relation to all external units. The corresponding means for coordination are heirarchy and the market mechanism. The existence of relationships makes this picture more diffuse. There are great opportunities for cooperation with a lot of external units forming, for example, coalitions. Thus, it is often more fruitful to see the company as a part of a network instead of a free and independent actor in an atomistic martket.

However, the recognition that there is a network of relationships is merely the first step. Approaches need to be developed for the analysis of the network.

“We hold these truths to be self evident” There are two parts of this statement I want you to pay close attention to. “Truths” and “self Evident”. A truth according to dictionary.com is “a verified or indisputable fact..” and to be self evident, “evident in itself without proof or demonstration” In 1776 our founding fathers attached their names to a document that contained these words. The contents of the document were believed to be full of self evident truths, to the point that no further explanation of the contents were needed! No lawyers.. no documents of explanation… no committees… no judges manipulating the words to their own personal desires. The Declaration of Independence was just that. A one page document that simply and thoroughly stated the position of men and woman who wanted no cap or restrictions to the lives they could build for themselves. They declared their intents without allowing fear of hurting people’s feelings, or fear of losing money, or losing “power”.  Most importantly, after making and signing this wonderful and powerful  declaration, they went to WORK!  Today September the 12th 2009, I make a declaration that as a man who loves his God, Family, and Country I will work towards  restoring the rights that have so slowly and detrimentally been replaced by the dependence on and slothfulness of our government so that my children and grandchildren won’t have to pick up the banner of freedom but rather to receive it and carry it on. “Our Motherland is benefited with all the Almighty could give, but yet I have Three Visions For India….”

This is one quote on which the greats, goons and goners have given their opinions but few have touched hearts. Most, rather have been very ambitious in their visions for a country like India and never roused feelings worth a tear of devotion or appreciation. Over the time I have spent in this country, which amounts to my current life time, I have observed that our country is a student, but a lazy one like many of us.

I am sure that many who read this might find my analogy offensive or insulting but the truth is that a person always makes an analogy to what he observes. Be it the neighbours, family, friends or even passers-by. There are other type of people who observe, analyze and compare anything they observe from humans to pictures to cars  to roads to something very insignificant.  So a person’s way of thinking about things should never be taken as offensive unless it in itself constructs destruction.

Yes, India is a learning and growing student. A student whose intellect and potential is far more than the first ranker at school but yet lags behind. We would term this as ignorance or disinterest, I would term this as “unsocial atmosphere at home”. You would solely blame the child for his bad performance, I would blame the child’s social and personal circle more.  India as a country can outshine any country in competition but only if her internal problems are well solved. My vision for India is not what Hon.Pres. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam asked,”The Power House of The World”,  not even what Hon.PM. Atal Bihari Vajpayee said,” The most technologically forward country”. My vision for India is that she becomes the “peace keeper” for the world. My vision includes that all her internal problems are calmed. By “internal problems” I  not only mean stately conflicts or communal riots but also problems that do not make it to the surface.

Today the Copernican obstacle that our country faces is media and media content. Terrorism, though at the zenith of problems, does not figure here  because “apparently” insignificant obstacles are enlisted here-with.  By putting Media and Media content I wish you to not think about the movies we show but by and large the News and the “Silver Screen” Idiot Box.

News? You might be surprised at the mention of this as a problem, aren’t you? Yes, it is one of the major problems that brings down our level of progress in the Global Media Market. There are certain people who love controversies, which we are very evidently familiar with, and there are certain news channels who survive on anything but news. True professionalism and personal constraints restrain me from naming those causes of our failure to succeed.

If truth  be asked how many people would like to watch, “Baba Pandudev”* ke pet ki kartut” or “Jannat ka address” , in comparison to news which relates to the recession or the pink slips which were distributed more like pamphlets? There are news channels which give birth to rumours only to attain TRPs and spread panic.

My First Vision For India: News Channels with no sense of responsibility towards awareness  be banned only to be replaced with Channels that authenticate whether the recent “rumour” is true or not and only supply news which prove to be useful and sensible. Hairy Stomach Movements are not going to improve  our country’s situation though they might be useful, which is a rarity.

To my first vision is an amendment, Silver Screen Programmes. Yes, I believe that entertainment is a must for all. After all, “All Work And No Play Makes John A Dull Boy”. But  is aired now-a-days is surely not entertainment! Would you call multiple re-incarnations,  polygamy, emotional turbulence and household envy leading to murder; entertainment? Such “Prime Time” programmes tend to disturb mental stability and push us towards insanity or imaginative behaviour. I would call such programme creators as “Monsters”.Would you then call shows which make you eat inedible insects only for a prize money entertainment?  Prize Money, another evil that is spreading through TV shows and attracting interest and simply spreading greed

Thus, My Vision Truly Would Be: Entertainment which truly entertains and does not breed agony or long lasting feelings in viewers and strict restriction on news channels with descent censorship on programmes telecast on the vast spread channels.

If television was the only problem, we could leave homes in the mornings or evenings for leisure strolls on the roads.But do you even vaguely remember the last time you walked freely on any road without the persisting tensions of traffic? I don’t. Traffic today is a fatal problem for India. It is setting back India’s reputation only due to the missing discipline in our maddening show of traffic. There is no discipline at all. Cars zoom often past “red” signals and are mindlessly idledduring “green” lights. There is no courtesy towards pedestrians and no co-operation with their fellow drivers. Road accidents are ranked as #1 for fatalities. Traffic Laws have become stringent but the Law-Keepers just get a notch more lenient every time when laws are strengthened. There is always a mad restless maniac revving his engine  at the signal to whoosh past other cars, who eventually loses control runs over a crossing pedestrian but is joyfully speeding because the police officials let him go as he sponsored “chai-paani” .

My Second Vision For India, Becomes: That Laws and Law Keepers should be so strict that breaking the law is the only thing  drivers avoid instead of signals. And that one day a blind gentleman/lady can fearlessly cross the road relying on the dreadful stint of fear the drivers have for the authority. If there is any fear for The Authority the criminals and law-breakers and their respective acts will automatically cut down to half. A very gruesome example is that of Saudi Arabia. It is said that a naive child can also go buy gold and he won’t be cheated as punishment for cheating is “Hanged or Stoned Till Death”.

Not breaking the laws or not committing criminal acts comes by simple and pure education. Sadly in a country where educationists are not respected for their skill in teaching the basic facts of existence and perfecting  personalities we are today throughout their life time, asking for a change in Education methods is almost useless. Yes, education should be vital for the progress of the country but when Pioneers and successors are nor respected why should their trade be forced? Education is the right of every human breathing in this country, but the Government worries about its vote-banks and not their prosperity or progress. After all if they progress who will vote illiterate politicians?

Here comes a common vision of all those who touched this very sensitive subject. This vision clutches the very root of all evils in the Indian Constitution and its working. Corruption has been assimilated into the blood of the authorities. Now is not the time to “eradicate” corruption but the time to isolate it. The Government holds some officials for dummy posts like the Governors’ post. The posts when filled by very influential people becomes a delta ground for the multiple sourced  “deserving” income which the Governor earns. With all due respect to our Governors, the post is most vulnerable to corruption. The Government which leads India, is layered so very well but even brilliantly inter-connected. Bribe and Blames are the two very crucial things that flow in the Government today with much ease.

Something that can change this attitude of the generations old Government is you(th). The youth has been seeing the downfall of the country. It has also seen the shameless trade of the country and its security by the hands of very senior and high posted officials. The Youth of India has awoken to change the very heart of the country. Yet, yet it will not make much difference. The youth today will become orthodox seniors tomorrow.  The honest today will bend tomorrow or day after. A perpetual cycle of youth and Seniors will begin and the corruption then will enter as it did decades ago and act as a lever for personal achievement and not the country’s.

Finally,My Third Vision For India: A Root Canal.

Yes, The very root of the constitution should be changed. Times change, Technologies change, Understandings change, even Teachings change, then why are we yet stuck to the old formula for Nation Administration? I do not propagate communism or socialism or capitalism, I do not offend Democracy but I do not even deny the Presidential Form.  Democracy is one of the best forms of administration but only when the democracy comprises of imaginable numbers, to say the least. To bring down corruption the only solution I can visualize is to make the Authority very strict so that corruption is a spineless crime and thus it will not be entertained.

Changing Governments isn’t what I want. What I wish is our country to Lead. If  tomorrow morning the Government decides to punish all corrupt officials I will feel the Government is present for Public Welfare. If tomorrow afternoon I walk outside to see disciplined driving I will feel the Law-Protectors are here, here to help and then tomorrow evening when I switch on my Television and see The Change, I will realise that I had these visions. We had these visions.

If misfortune takes a peep and things worsen, I will consider my visions just as few thoughts that I shared with few important people here and try to make small insignificant butterfly-wing flaps only to expect a hurricane.
