Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming’? This is really quite huge. It demonstrates the lies behind the global warming fraud and that they are some of the techniques used by evolutionists to avoid competition with their worldview. The Expelled! movie could have been made about GW alarmists as well.

It is hard to imagine a bigger story. If the roles were reversed Hollywood would be firing up an Academy Award winning movie highlighting the evil Right Wingers and their plot to fake evidence to destroy economies, expand government controls and take over the world. Only in this case, it is the Left trying to do exactly that. And they were busted.

These scientists are frauds and liars and indirectly stole billions of dollars.

I’m tagging this as a favorite for future use in reminding people that not all scientists are just noble, fact seeking purists. The stain of original sin affects us all.

Just one question: Will all the school kids who suffered through An Inconvenient Truth be told the real truth now? Countless children were forced to watch the Inherit the Wind evolution propoganda movie as well.

Here’s another take on this critical story.

I borrowed stole these examples of the fraud from the Wintery Knight:

THE Ministry of Defence spent £149 million on an “urgent” upgrade to 900 tanks that are now only being used in training exercises, it has been revealed. The tanks were upgraded by the MOD for use in Iraq but are unsuitable for deployment in Afghanistan where Mastiff and Ridgback vehicles are better suited to cope with the terrain and threat. The refit programme, ordered as an “urgent operational requirement” three years ago, saw 900 FV430 variant vehicles given new engines, drive trains and driver controls and reclassified as Bulldogs. An MoD spokeswoman said: “We provide our Armed Forces with the vehicles that best meet their operational need. “The Bulldog was specifically upgraded for use in Iraq where it played a key role in providing armoured protection for many personnel.

“In Afghanistan, where the terrain and threats are different, this role is performed by the Mastiff and Ridgback. “The Bulldogs continue to have a role in training exercises in the UK.” The Mastiff and the Ridgback, it’s “baby brother”, were rolled out in Afghanistan to withstand the increasing threat of roadside bombs and take the place of the more vulnerable Snatch Land Rovers.

CUMBRIA FLOODS: CLEAN-UP BEGINS AS FORECASTERS WARN MORE RAIN WILL BATTER BRITAIN

RESIDENTS of flood-hit Cumbria are desperately trying to salvage their possessions from ravaged homes and businesses, as forecasters warn another barrage of rain will batter Britain.Thousands of home and business-owners in Cockermouth, Cumbria – which suffered the heaviest downpour in British history – have been allowed back into their properties today for the first time since the raging waters began. But as the huge clean-up effort begins, the Met Office have predicted more heavy rain and force gales are on their way as the unforgiving weather shows no signs of easing

Weather experts have forecast torrential downpours and lashing gales of up to 70mph are set to besiege the nation once again. And to make matters worse, temperatures are set to tumble, bringing chilly and wintry conditions to most of us. Brendan Jones, MeteoGroup UK forecaster, said while scattered showers in Cumbria today would be not be heavy enough to cause additional problems, more heavy rain and strong winds are expected in the next few days. He said: “Rainfall today is not going to be enough to raise river levels, but tomorrow we could easily see another 30mm to 40mm of rain, possibly more over high ground, with gusts of up to 70mph tomorrow night.”

Meanwhile, the search for a woman believed to have been swept in by the River Usk in Brecon, South Wales at about 7pm last night was resumed today. The river is under flood watch.More than 900 homes and businesses in flood-hit Cockermouth were being reopened today, but many still remain cut-off by the collapsed or damaged bridges. Structural engineers and military experts are conducting an urgent safety review of the county’s 1,800 bridges, with fears growing that Calva bridge in Workington is on the brink of being swept away. Andrew Butler, of Cumbria Highways, said a sheer crack in Calva bridge’s central arch had grown and the deck of the bridge had sunk more than a foot. Currently a total of 16 bridges and at least 25 roads are closed, according to police. About 60 people are still sheltering in the two main reception centres. Twenty-five soldiers, from 39 Regiment the Royal Artillery, have been sent to flood-hit areas to assist the emergency services, the Ministry of Defence said. Cumbria Police Chief Constable Craig Mackey today paid tribute to the public response to the floods as the operation moved from the rescue phase to the recovery stage.

He said: “I am touched by the real sense of community spirit that has been shown during this difficult time in Cumbria – which has seemed to spread across the UK. “We have had an incredible amount of support offered to us by volunteers and partners from around the country, and I have no doubt that together we’ll be able to rebuild our communities and steadily restore a degree of normally for the people of Cumbria.” Cumbria County Council said 13 primary schools and five secondary schools are closed today, with the majority hoping to reopen tomorrow. The Environment Agency said the unprecedented rainfall in Cumbria last week “would have overwhelmed any defence” and warned river levels across the region were expected to remain relatively high for the next few days. Tony Cunningham, Labour MP for Workington, said getting from the town to nearby Seaton had turned into a 90-mile journey. He suggested temporary structures might need to go up in the short term, adding: “My major concern is residents who are cut off. Things are getting desperate.” More than 900 homes and businesses are being reopened in the large-scale clean-up today, but police have warned each will be subject to safety checks before people can enter them. Properties will have to be checked for sewage contamination, structural stability and electrical safety. Residents going back to properties affected by the flooding are being advised to wear wellies and protective clothing which can be cleaned or thrown away later. They will also be given rubber gloves and an information pack with emergency contact numbers and advice. A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Many homes will be contaminated, some walls and structures may be unstable and electricity supplies may dangerous. “All of these things must be checked before you can re-enter your property…”Police would urge owners to be patient while the staggered return to their property takes place. By working together, we can make this process work as fast and safely as possible.” Churches across Cumbria prayed for the flood victims. Yesterday canoeist Chris Wheeler died during stormy conditions after getting trapped against a tree yesterday afternoon on the River Dart at Mel Tor, Poundsgate, Newton Abbot. The Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt Rev James Newcome, said the thoughts of the county were particularly with the family and friends of Pc Bill Barker, who disappeared into the swollen waters of the River Derwent early on Friday morning after the Northside bridge collapsed. Mr Mackey yesterday met Pc Barker’s widow, Hazel, at the family home and said she was “understandably distraught” but overwhelmed by the response to her husband’s death Canon Bryan Rowe, of St Michael’s Church in Workington, said: “The whole community is hurting. We are isolated. We are a long way from a motorway now. “We can’t even go the other side of the river.” The Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund, set up by the Cumbria Community Foundation, has reached £145,000. On Saturday, Prime Minister Gordon Brown pledged an extra £1 million of Government money to help flood-hit communities during a visit to Cockermouth. The Regional Development Agency is expected to make an announcement on funding today. Environment Secretary Hilary Benn said local authorities would receive help from central government funds and the Department for Transport would provide money to repair bridges. Jill Stannard, the chief executive of Cumbria County Council – who only took up her post last Thursday – said the damage from the floods had run into “tens of millions of pounds.” She said the authorities were trying to establish the whereabouts of “less than 50″ people who remain unaccounted for, although she stressed that many of these may have gone to stay with relatives and friends outside the area. She acknowledged that many local people were “very frightened” about access to healthcare, but urged them to listen to official advice transmitted by the media rather than giving credence to rumours about the situation. Ms Stannard added: “It is our intention to get as many schools open as possible as quickly as we can, because we want to keep life as normal as possible for childre”It is very important that when the schools open, they go back to school.”

Phil Rothwell, head of flood strategy at the Environment Agency, said problems of the kind Cumbria has experienced over the past few days could be expected to arise more often in future because of global warming. Mr Rothwell told Today: “Climate change scientists are telling us that the sorts of events we have seen over the last week, and indeed over the last decade, are the sorts of things we can expect in the future, so we are planning on the basis that that is right.” Flood claims in Cumbria and south Scotland are expected to be in the region of £50-100 million, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI). Early indications are that insurers have already received between 500 and 1,000 claims, with the cost of a typical claim is likely to be in the range of £20,000-40,000, depending on the building and contents affected. ABI spokeswoman Kelly Ostler-Coyle said it was still “early days” and more claims were expected. She said: “There are still people who haven’t called their insurance companies. “And if there is more bad weather there could be more claims. “Our advice is to people is call your insurance company as soon as possible. They quicker you call the quicker the claim can be dealt with. “As soon as the floods subside and it is safe to go in, a loss adjuster can go in to assess the damage.”

Sugardrop tomato that’s sweeter than a peach

A revolutionary new tomato that tastes as sweet as a peach hits the shelves tomorrow in a push to encourage children eat more healthily. The Sugardrop is the sweetest tomato ever created and is a natural hybrid of two different varieties of the fruit. And because of its unusual taste it is expected to appeal to people who find the normal versions too sharp. Sugardrop tomato from Tesco The breed is the result of an incredible two years of trials involving 3,000 different tomato types and was developed exclusively for supermarket giant Tesco. It was grown on the Costa Calida, in Murcia, south west Spain and by the chain’s grower Paloma. And because of the highly competitive nature of the food world, the creators are not even revealing which two varieties were crossed to create the fruit. They fear that because of the potential of the Sugardrop other rival growers will try and copy it to muscle in on to the £520million UK market. Tesco tomato buyer Ashleigh McWilliams said the gourmet bite had been planned from as early as 2007. She said: ‘A few years ago met up with our suppliers and asked them to find us a high quality tomato which would appeal to gourmets with a sweet tooth. ‘It was the start of major research that involved our growers contacting all the major seed houses in the world. ‘They wanted to find varieties that they could cross pollinate to find a tomato with higher than normal sugar levels. ‘The result is the Sugardrop, which is the sweetest tomato there has ever been and now this week UK shoppers will be the first to try it.’ The tomato is a herbaceous plant native to South America, which can grow up to ten feet in height. They were not grown in England until the 1590s and by the mid-1700s were widely eaten throughout the country. It now used as the staple ingredient in thousands of popular dishes including lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise and pizza. This latest breed is expected to create even more fans of the fruit as they attract to its sweet flavour. The Sugardrop growers have managed to achieve sugar levels – or the technical term of brix levels – of nine to 13 brix. A standard peach has a nine brix level so each of the new tomatoes are guaranteed to be at least as sweet as the fruit. They are being sold as part of Tesco’s Finest food range and will cost £1.50 for a 280g punnet. Ashleigh added: ‘As tomatoes are so healthy we’re hoping that the added sweetness of the Sugardrop will also appeal to children. ‘We think they might be a draw for people who might otherwise turn their noses up at them.’

Tornado leaves trail of destruction as wild weather continues to sweep across Britain

A tornado left a trail of devastation today after tearing through a suburb as extreme weather continued to sweep across Britain. The mini-cyclone destroyed a garage, damaged trees and ripped off roof tiles when it struck Littleover, in Derby, shortly before 2pm. Residents of the streets badly hit by the freak winds described a ‘dusty cloud’ that turned the sky black and sent wheelie bins flying through the air into cars.

Andy Woodward surveys the damage to his garage in Dennis Close, Littleover, following a mini tornado One told how it was like ‘driving into a washing machine’ at the height of the storm. Others described the sky turning black. Richard Bryan said: ‘I thought I’d driven into a washing machine – a wall of water and wind just hit the car with terrific force and almost stopped it. ‘I got the wipers on full pelt and, when the window cleared, all I could see were three dustbins. The wind picked them up and they actually flew into the air. One of them came straight towards the car but just passed over the top.’ Stelios Panteli, 43, was knocked over in the sudden storm. He said: ‘I was in the kitchen when I heard the front door blow open. I went to close it, but I was knocked backwards into the kitchen. ‘When I went outside I saw a wheelie bin had smashed the back window of a lady’s car. ‘It was all over in about 15 seconds, but it was 15 seconds of chaos. It looked like a dusty cloud swirling around at the front of the house and then it disappeared. It’s just very lucky that no one was hurt.’

A resident begins repairing roof damage caused by the mini-cyclone

Andy Woodward, 28, returned from a shopping trip to find the garage on the side of his mother’s house had been battered. He said: ‘The garage is hanging off at 45 degrees. I think it was because it was a bit more exposed, but you don’t expect winds to knock a garage down. When I got back there were fences down and roof tiles strewn about. It was absolute mayhem.’ The emergency services inspected nearby buildings to check they were safe. Bryon Chalcraft, from the Met Office, said more tornadoes could hit the country over the next three days. He said: ‘Heavy showers, strong winds and thunder storms were all present in the Derbyshire area. They could well have combined to create the right conditions for a tornado. ‘When strong up-draughts meet down-draughts, circulations of air can form and when they drop to ground level they can form a tornado. ‘When you get a strong cold front at this time of year, as we have moving across the country from the east, there is always a small chance of a tornado developing.’

Teacher Attacked By 4 Year Old…..Get A Grip !!!…Hardly An Attack !!!

Boy, 4, becomes one of the youngest pupils in Britain to be expelled from school

A boy aged four has become one of the youngest children in Britain to be expelled from school. He was thrown out of his primary just weeks after starting for constantly disrupting classes and attacking teachers. In one incident the youngster is said to have lashed out at a teacher after he was dragged away from light switches he was repeatedly flicking on and off. And a second teacher claims the boy, who cannot be named, kicked her after he got into an argument with another pupil over a jigsaw.

The youngster was expelled from Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Preston

Up to a dozen five-year-olds have been given their marching orders from schools across the UK but this youngster is one of the first four-year-olds to be expelled. Under education guidelines children who behave badly can be sent home from school by the headteacher for a fixed period or permanently. The boy, who only started school in September, was kicked out after what teachers described as a catalogue of problems. His parents refused to agree to a special action plan to deal with his behaviour and he was expelled a few days later. But his family say he is a lively and lovable little boy who has never caused any problems before starting school. His mother said she was ’shocked’ when she was called out of work to collect her son from the school. She said: ‘They are making him out to be a thug and I think they are treating him far too old. ‘They are saying he won’t listen, is disruptive and is just doing what he wants but he’s still only four and getting used to school and they just don’t know how to be with him.’

The mother, a caterer, said: ‘There is absolutely nothing wrong with [my son] and he knows the difference between right and wrong,. ‘At home he is quiet and if he does get a bit boisterous then he gets told off and told to behave himself. ‘He was one of the youngest in the class and it is down to the teachers to help him settle and I don’t think that has been done. ‘They are saying he’s very violent and all the other kids are scared of him. I’ve never heard such nonsense.’ The mother said she and her husband are worried their son will now find it very difficult to settle in a new school. She said: ‘They said he is being disruptive and he is very immature, but he is only four year old for goodness sake.’ The child was sent home on four separate occasions by the headteacher at the Lancashire primary school before finally being expelled a week ago. The headteacher said: ‘It is only on very rare occasions that a school would consider permanently excluding a child as young as four. ‘At such a young age, behaviour of the kind that could lead to exclusion needs to be investigated and dealt with quickly by the appropriate specialists. ‘In order to do this, we do, of course, need the full co-operation of the family so that we can put the right support in place. ‘Our aim is not to punish but to carry out an assessment and successfully reintegrate the child into mainstream school as quickly as possible.’ She added: ‘When children are excluded permanently, if parents disagree with the decision, the usual course is for them to appeal to the school governors and then to an independent panel. Both have the power to overturn the decision.’ A spokesman for the National Association of Headteachers said: ‘Previous fixed term exclusions for a four-year-old is highly unusual but they demonstrate how seriousness of the problems with this child.’ The youngest pupil to be expelled from a British school was a three-year-old girl who was thrown out of school for her violent behaviour. The unnamed little girl was sent home from a reception class for assaulting a fellow student at a primary school in Caerphilly in Wales last year.

The Rishi Public School, located near the Police Commissioner’s office in Basheerbagh, has expelled a seven-year-old boy for arriving late by seven minutes.

Angered by the bizarre disciplinary act, the parents of young Syed Musthafa Hussain, a Class II student, have approached the State Human Rights Commission for justice.

Musthafa’s father, Mr Syed Dawood Hussain, a resident of Noor Khan Bazaar, said he and his wife took their son to school on November 9 but reached seven minutes late. He said his pregnant wife was not even allowed inside the school and made to wait for 40 minutes at the gates.

“When I questioned the unreasonable behaviour, the principal, Ms Bhavani Chandra, yelled and said Musthafa will be issued a record sheet,” he said. Mr Dawood said he and his wife visited the school on November 11 but were again kept waiting outside the gates. The management later reportedly told Mr Dawood that his son would be taken back.

But after he dropped Musthafa at school on November 12, he got a call at around 10.30 am asking him to take the boy back. “My son was singled out in the assembly and kept waiting at the reception hall,” said his mother, Mrs Farhath Hussain. “He is just seven years old. What kind of impact will all this have on his mind?”

However, the principal, Ms Chandra, said she had issued the record sheet after consulting the management. Asked why the boy was dismissed, she said that his parents were rude. Ms Juveria Farhath, an advocate representing Musthafa, said the SHRC would take up the case on Tuesday.

Recently Ray Comfort and living waters ministry has been advertising the distribution of “On the origin of species” by Charles Darwin on 11/19/2009. Of course anything Ray Comfort is involved with Richard Dawkins and his clones have to attack. So they staged a coupe to get their hands on as many copies of this free book as they could get so that could limit it’s distribution, what where they afraid of? Ray Comfort’s introduction to the book.

A copy of the book, with the introduction, is available HERE. (I will try and keep this link a live as long as possible. If it is not working email me and I will email you the file.)

But then the “Banana-man” pulled a fast one, he handed out the books a day early. I guess Ray is not as dumb as Darwinist think. Well for your enjoyment I present Ray Comforts tribute to Richard “The Ape-man” Dawkins.

In this year of celebration, when we mark the 200th year since his birth and the 150th year since the publication of his great work The Origin of Species, he is being subjected to a real deluge of misrepresentation. The ideological opponents of science, particularly evolutionary science, have been working overtime to quote him out of context, to cherry pick quotes, to “prove” he was a horrible person and that the “materialist” heart of science must be ripped out.

Here’s a recent local example. Those deluded souls over at Thinking Matters Talk have produced a post, Darwinism, Morality and Violence, as part of their creationist preaching. They “quote” Darwin to “prove” he had a “toxic doctrine of racial superiority and eugenics.” And this is an inevitable result of “materialist evolution.” Oh, I should add, alongside “high-school killings by teenagers in the US and Europe.” They seem to be answering their question: “Is mass murder the corollary of belief in materialistic evolution?” with an emphatic yes! Because it leads to “loss of objective meaning” and “eradication of an objective moral order.”

Their “evidence” is this quote from The Descent of Man:

if we “do not prevent the reckless, the vicious and otherwise inferior members of society from increasing at a quicker rate than the better class of men, the nation will retrograde, as has too often occurred in the history of the world.”

Of course, the “if we” at the beginning is their own addition. The actual sentence reads:

“If the various checks specified in the two last paragraphs, and perhaps others as yet unknown, do not prevent the reckless, the vicious and otherwise inferior members of society from increasing at a quicker rate than the better class of men, the nation will retrograde, as has too often occurred in the history of the world.”

So, it’s not “we” but “the various checks specified in the two last paragraphs, and perhaps others as yet unknown.”

Sure it’s all a bit quaint. It’s the language of the times. But those two paragraphs refer to published work on the effect of poverty and marriage on the death rate amongst children and adults. What a difference a dishonest “we” makes! Actually, that quote is quote common at creationist sites, but very few actually use the word “we.”

If the Thinking Matters people actually read the book they quote from they would find it destroys their argument. In the same chapter, after describing some pro-eugenics arguments in the writings of Gregg, Wallace and Galton, Darwin makes clear that he does not endorse them. While we use artificial selection for breeding domestic animals, we don’t do that “in the case of man.”

“The aid which we feel impelled to give to the helpless is mainly an incidental result of the instinct of sympathy, which was originally acquired as part of the social instincts, but subsequently rendered, in the manner previously indicated, more tender and more widely diffused. Nor could we check our sympathy, even at the urging of hard reason, without deterioration in the noblest part of our nature. The surgeon may harden himself whilst performing an operation, for he knows that he is acting for the good of his patient; but if we were intentionally to neglect the weak and helpless, it could only be for a contingent benefit, with an overwhelming present evil.”

Actually, if they read this book they may also get some idea of early evolutionary speculation about the development of sympathy, empathy and morality in humans and animals.

But something else these scribblers should have taken note of from their own experience. What is their usual source of “wisdom” when the want to “prove” something or “justify” a moral action?

Think about it. If humans want to promote evil policies, justify racial superiority, war, and inhuman morality – why should they bother with a relatively unknown book like the “Descent of Man.” Why not do what humans have done for century – use the Bible! This has been used to justify about everything humans have got into – in the name of “objective moral order.” That, and the dishonest method of cherry-picking and quote mining.

The kid that got in my face and told me he was Al-Qaeda got expelled. But that’s only where the story starts…

I work at the traumatizing school from 10-11 AM on Thursday, then head over to the other one. It turns out that after I left last week, there was another incident with the aforementioned kid.

Turns out, he was already on probation due to some incident before I arrived. The conditions of the probation were that he behave in school. Coming toward me in a threatening manner and saying he was Al-Qaeda didn’t fit that definition, so there were various meetings, after which he was brought to a final meeting at the school, where he was told he was expelled.

He heard and freaked out. One of the teachers that I work with was alone upstairs and saw the kid running up, with fireworks and tear gas in his pocket. Apparently, he then went wild, sprayed the tear gas in the Assistant Prinicpal’s face and everywhere else, then ran off. When the cops arrived, he was nowhere to be found.

I have yet to hear any new on the matter.

To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands.
On Oct. 20, Chen Le, a high school student, was expelled from Xinjiang High School for refusing to denounce his faith, according to China Aid Association. The High School Division of the Huashan Middle School expelled Chen after he signed a document confirming he was a Christian. ChinaAid reported that Chen Le does not regret signing the document confirming his faith in Jesus Christ. He continues to stand courageously for his faith, even though his expulsion means he is barred from college entrance exams. The Voice of the Martyrs encourages you to pray for Chen and his family during this challenging time. Praise God for his faithfulness. Ask God to protect and encourage him.

On Oct. 27, The Voice of the Martyrs contacts reported nearly 1,000 students at the Arastamar School of Theology face eviction from a West Jakarta former Mayor’s office, where they were living temporarily. The day before students received the eviction notice from the High Court of West Jakarta, local government authorities cut off electricity and water to the site, leading to student demonstrations. “That day … a thousand students were demonstrating outside of the building and making [a barricade with their bodies] to prevent the police troops, local government security troops and High Court officials from going into the building and destroying the building,” VOM contacts said. “ The riot began when some people from the back row of police troops [threw] stones against the students; then the students repelled it by throwing plastic chairs and stones against the police troops,” VOM contacts added. Local government authorities have told the students to leave the building by Nov. 9 because the building will be destroyed. In July 2008, Muslim extremists destroyed the Bible school campus with Molotov cocktails. They also attacked the students with acid and machetes as they were being evacuated from the burning buildings. The staff and students from the Bible school’s campus were forced into temporary shelters all over the city including a camp ground in Kampung Pulo village. Pray for the students’ encouragement and protection. Praise God for their unwavering witness.

Hebrews 10:32–39

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “ For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

Last month, 20 year old Geisy Arruda was expelled Bandeirante University in Brazil. What would cause someone to be expelled from a university?

Did she cheat?
Did she vandalize?
Did she hurt someone?

No, Geisy incited a mass riot among her fellow students. For showing up to school wearing a mini skirt and “heavy makeup.”

That’s right, when she arrived to school dressed up for the day her fellow students crowded her classroom door, shouting for her to come out so that they could rape her. As she was escorted out, the male students screamed “Puta!” and “whore!” while grabbing at Arruda and attempting to take cell phone pictures between her legs.

The next day Arruda was informed through an ad in the school newspaper that she was expelled, not even given the courtesy of being called and informed of this directly. Their reason for expulsion? Her dress provoked a “collective reaction in defense of the school environment.”

And what environment is this exactly? One where the male students can do whatever they feel like? Threaten women with violent and disgusting acts like rape? Leave class and start rioting in the hallways without even a slap on the wrist? Not only are they not being reprimanded for their outlandish behavior, but they are actually being defended by the school, all while this poor girl is made out to be a criminal. And for what? Putting on some eyeliner and wearing a cute sweater-mini to class?

The way this incident is being handled is perpetuating a belief system that places the blame of harassment and rape on women. It is taking the focus off of the men who brutalized Arruda and making her the perpetrator instead of the victim. What kind of learning environment is this where women must live in fear of the students around her? Where she can be chased from campus when the guy sitting next to her doesn’t agree with her choice of clothing?

If anyone should be expelled for disrupting the “school environment” it is the male students who verbally abused Arruda. I’m pretty sure riots on campus are far more distracting than a skirt and a little mascara.

Michael Steele, it’s time to relinquish your membership. No, not from the Republican Party, bu

Michael Steele, it’s time to relinquish your membership. No, not from the Republican Party, but from the black race. As of this moment, you are no longer black. Please refrain from referring to yourself as black, african-american, afr0-american, or person of african descent. You are hereby barred from using terms such as brother, bro, homey, dog or any such terms that might cause someone to mistake you for a brother. Nor are you to use any handshakes, gestures, signs, body language, or swagger that are the unique signature of black men. Although extremely unlikely, if by chance you are a member of any black-oriented clubs, fraternities, lodges, or leagues, you will be expelled. “Sageants-at-arms, please bar the doors.”

No, it’s not your politics. Everyone has a right to what he or she believes and has a right to express those beliefs. The fact that you are a Republican and a conservative is not the problem. Truthfully, when you won the chairmanship of the Republican party many african-americans, myself included, felt some measure of pride. But that pride turned quickly into embarrassment. Your phony embrace of hip hop culture on the shallowest of levels in a misguided belief that you could compete with Barack Obama if you were “cool”, revealed such a cynical, lack of understanding of hip hop that you could not possibly be black. But that was not the worst of it, by half. The day when you apologized to Rush Limbaugh was the beginning of the end. Before that we considered you silly and misguided. But after that, your ”blackness” was seriously brought into question. We asked ourselves, “what real black man would ever let himself be called out like that by the likes of a Rush Limbaugh and respond with an apology? None, was the answer.

Our feelings were only reinforced when you scoffed at President Obama’s winning of the Nobel Peace Prize saying that he won the award for “awesomeness.” And let’s not forget your all day rounds of the talk shows the day after Republicans won the Virginia and New Jersey governor’s races and “assumed the Heisman position.”

It has become quite evident that you have no idea who or what you are representing. So, as of now, you do not represent us. You do not represent those african-americans who were held in the cruelest form of slavery known to man. You do not represent Frederick Douglass, Harriett Tubman or Sojuerner Truth. You do not represent Fannie Lou Hamer or John Lewis. You do not represent W.E.B. Dubois, Langston Hughes, James Baldwin or Maya Angelou. You do not represent Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, Biggie or Tupac. You do not represent Jackie Robinson, Michael Jordan or Muhammad Ali. You are hereby cut off from all of our past and our future, from all of our pains and our joys. You apparenlty have no understanding of them. Therfore, you have been ex-communicated. You are expelled. You can turn in your membership card at the White House.

Recently I have taking on a discussion with, what I have encountered to be, a standard run of the mill Darwinist. His blog is at http://truelogic.wordpress.com/. It has been a consistent bob and weave by Mr Truelogic as I try to discuss with him the subject of his posts. He consistently brings up attacks on my beliefs and my standpoints and never defends the points he tries to make in his posts. Then he made the following statement and it all became clear:

“1. You believe Jesus Christ was born to a virgin!
2. You believe Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead!

Because you believe the above two points with ALL your heart and because NOTHING will cause you to believe otherwise, which is sound evidence demonstrating Science has nothing to do with your world/life view. That alone should cause intelligent people to pause and question the validity of anything you state and question your ability to be objective and honest.”

Something about this statement caused me to think about the state of the creation vs Darwinism debate. This statement shows why the debate has stalled. Too many Darwinists refused to listen to anything that apposes their belief in Darwinian evolution unless it comes from a Darwinist, do you see the problem with this?

It is intellectual dishonest to exclude someones ideas, thoughts or scientific research based on their religious beliefs. This is setting a standard that only allows your opinion to be confirmed and never challenged. How do we move past this and get the debate back on a productive path?

P.S. I will be addressing the quoted statement on truelogic’s post, feel free to join us if you have something to add.

I was watching Expelled and when I heard the segment from this song (Evolution) I had to stop watching and search the Internet for it. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a song that’s had little exposure, has a one-word title, a nobody artist, and the title of a controversial issue that’s also in the titles of more famous songs?

Evolution by Kevin Lee:

I didn’t crawl out of the ocean. I didn’t come from no monkey.

Science tends to forget; evolution’s just a theory.

They present it in the textbooks and on animal TV

Like it’s fact. But, tell me, were you there twelve million B.C.

.

And if you’re right and there’s no God, I guess we’ll all know before too long

If there’s nothing to believe in after we’re gone.

If you’re right I’ll eat my words and you can disregard this song.

But I’d hate to be in your shoes when you find out that you’re wrong.

.

When did evolution stop? ‘Cause fish still swim in the sea.

And last time that I checked, apes still lived in trees.

They’re not our distant cousins. And I don’t care what you say;

Giraffe’s neck is long because God made it that way.

.

And if you’re right and there’s no God, I guess we’ll all know before too long

If there’s nothing to believe in after we’re gone.

But I’d hate to be in your shoes when you find out that you’re wrong.

.

Now it doesn’t take a genius to know there’s more than this.

But I’ll put my faith in the Word of God – not in scientists.

There’s nothing wrong with science. There’s too much good to list.

But you can stop trying to teach my kid to become an atheist.

.

And if you’re right and there’s no God, I guess we’ll all know before too long

This is great news. I just commented on this story yesterday as it was rattling around the blogosphe

This is great news. I just commented on this story yesterday as it was rattling around the blogosphere. I said: “Yeah, that’s ridiculous. Why expel a kid for forgetting to take his nail clippers out of his bag? Oh wait. I’m sure that he actually meant to shiv someone in the lunch line, and that he wasn’t just hygienically conscious. Now if it’s an actual knife, that’s different, but clippers, or in this case, a spork/ camping cutlery, that’s just crazy. You have to question the priorities of whichever administrator brought attention to this in the first place. Let’s hope this gets resolved soon. Unfortunately in today’s news climate, with war, healthcare, and the economy, it may be overlooked.”

Well, I’m happy to say no, it didn’t get overlooked, and justice has prevailed. For those who don’t know, 6 year old Zachary Christie was suspended and forced to attend an alternative school for violent offenders when he brought in his new favorite camping utensil to eat lunch with. He is a model student and excited about learning. Apparently he would wear suits to school of his own volition. Being a Cub Scout, he loved his newest camping implement and wanted to use it at school. But his school had a zero tolerance policy against weapons and he was suspended, facing a 45 day sentence. His mother protested and bloggers (like you and me!) spoke out and brought dialogue to the national stage.

I understand that we need to keep our schools safe, and if kids bring box-cutters, knives, guns, etc. to school they should face the consequences. However, I think the zero-tolerance policy needs to be amended for special circumstances. For example: we have a technical school in Syracuse that teaches local high school students trades like automotive maintenance, fashion, cosmetics, cooking, nursing, carpentry, etc. Imagine a student enrolled in the cosmetics program. She doesn’t have time to go home between classes to get her beauty supplies, so she carries them with her in her backpack. Her school on the southside conducts a random weapons search and finds her nail clippers, file, and maybe some shears for hair. Uh oh. She a violent offender for sure! Lock her up before she stabs someone! Nevermind that she’s a straight A student and always nice to everyone. She planning something. Policies like this need to be under constant scrutiny so that we can protect our young people rights and make sure they feel like America is a good place to live and not some dictatorship. Enough of their rights are taken away already in school. How to dress, speak, where they can or can’t walk and when. For the sake of good students everywhere, review your local school’s policies before another six year old’s bright vision of school is shattered and re-fused from the ashes as bitter cynicism at a broken system.

A spork, one of the most deadly weapons known to mankind, was confiscated from a malcontent 6 year old child claiming he “only brought it to school to eat lunch.” The boy was justifiably suspended 45 days for bringing said weapon of mass destruction to his school’s hallowed grounds.

Alas, some whiney liberal pansies complained about the severity of punishment, and wouldn’t you know it the school board reversed it’s decision:

The seven-member board voted unanimously to reduce the punishment for kindergartners and first-graders who bring weapons to school or commit other violent offenses to a suspension ranging from three to five days.

What kind of message are we sending to our children when kids like Zachary Christie are allowed to sidestep the righteous right hand of Justice despite committing such a heinous crime?! These left wing wackos in charge of this school district also ignored a SERRATED KNIFE in the hands of a 5th grader months earlier, believing some half baked excuse of “I brought it to cut a birthday cake.” These people are the very reason why society so easily overlooks teen crime!!!

In all seriousness, WHAT THE FUCK were these morons thinking expelling the kid in the first place? This isn’t nearly as bad as the 7 year old suspended permenantly from his elementary school in Florida for drawing – DRAWING – a picture of his father, a United States Green Beret, holding a gun beneath the American Flag and taping it to his locker. I find it hilarious that Americans are so damn terrified of weapons in their school district that they freely throw logic to the wind in a fit of hysteria when a pointy object is found in a child’s pocket (which makes me even more surprised that more 14-16 year old boys haven’t been mistakenly expelled…).

…Then again, maybe my opinion is slightly skewed by the fact that I went to a high school that allowed a friend of mine to wave around a fully sharpened, very real samurai sword for his physics class final project…dammit, Fuzzy, that shit was terrifying.

The leftist move to ban everyone in the world from having anything at all has lead to many things: gun control movements, anti-weapons laws, and most “innocently:” zero-tolerance policies.

Various institutions have undertaken zero tolerance policies, for example, in the military, in the workplace, and in schools, in an effort to eliminate various kinds of illegal behavior like harassment and in our case, weapons. And in the interest of full disclosure, I often support strict interpretations of policies and laws in order to decrease crime. But the question here has to be: if there is no risk, damage, intent, or even RISK of harm, need we really punish? What goals would punishing the innocent/inculpable accomplish?

Zachary’s offense? Taking a camping utensil that can serve as a knife, fork and spoon to school. He was so excited about recently joining the Cub Scouts that he wanted to use it at lunch. School officials concluded that he had violated their zero-tolerance policy on weapons, and Zachary was suspended and now faces 45 days in the district’s reform school.

…

“Zachary wears a suit and tie some days to school by his own choice because he takes school so seriously,” said Debbie Christie, Zachary’s mother, who started a Web site,helpzachary.com, in hopes of recruiting supporters to pressure the local school board at its next open meeting on Tuesday.

(Source)

At a time when we are dealing with public education problems in cities because of violence, discrimination, and hate-filled teens raised by incapable parents, why are school administrators spending time expelling, appealing, and even discussing a child whose admiration for his school leads him to wear a suit and tie!

It a policy leads to absurd results, then clearly its usefulness has reached its max. Even zero-tolerance can’t be so strict and politically correct to destroy such a young child’s faith in his own education.

Cub Scout, Good Student, and now Expellee. Ridiculous.

Evolution News reports on the latest censorship by the ignorant, close-minded, witch-hunting Darwini

Evolution News reports on the latest censorship by the ignorant, close-minded, witch-hunting Darwinians.

Excerpt:

The knee-jerk response of Darwin’s defenders is to suppress any message that challenges Darwinian evolution’s orthodoxy. Case in point, this past week the Los Angeles Daily News reported that the California Science Center, a “department of the State of California,” banned the screening of the new intelligent design film, Darwin’s Dilemma, after the screening became public knowledge and there was intense pressure to cancel.

And get this, from what we’ve heard the intense pressure came from the Smithsonian Institution with which they are affiliated. That’s right, the very same Smithsonian Institution that trampled evolutionary biologist Richard Sternberg’s academic freedoms. The very same Smithsonian Institution that apologized for allowing another ID film, The Privileged Planet, to be shown at the Institution’s Museum of Natural History.

In this instance the American Freedom Alliance entered into what was presumably a legally binding contract with the California Science Center when it rented its facilities. That they would be a screening a pro-ID film was never a secret. The Science Center apparently had no problem with the film being screened there and okayed the contract. So, who did have a problem? Why did the screening have to be canceled?

It happens all the time.

This isn’t the first time a major academic or scientific institution has trampled academic freedom of scientists who are proponents of intelligent design. Dr. Guillermo Gonzalez was the victim of very shameful treatment by the faculty and board of regents at Iowa State University. Dr. William Dembski was hounded out of Baylor University for his views on intelligent design. There’s an entire film that millions of people have seen, Expelled starring Ben Stein about what happens to people who are advocates of design theory. Even Stein was later sacked from his position at The New York Times, in part, according to him, for his having made that film.

Galileo in reverse.

UPDATE: I note that the pro-intelligent design team have organized a debate with their critics. Speakers include Stephen Meyer, Rick Sternberg, Michael Shermer and Don Prothero. Say what you want about Michael Shermer, he is not a coward.

you know what is just complete crap?

not being able to express who you are. i thought that schools actually encouraged you to do just that but apparantly i was wrong.
to be frank, jonathan like to dress like a girl. so? he’s just expressing himself and being who he is. jonathan just started in a Cobb County high school in Georgia. he was told to either dress more like a guy or consider home schooling because he’s “a distraction” to other students. honestly, that is crap. if the students are that distracted by a boy dressing like a girl then why aren’t they distracted when a girl dresses like a boy? isn’t that what ‘grunge’ is?

for some reason this just really pissed me off. if anything jonathan is obviously comfortable with who he is so he should be an example to other people to just be theirselves. it seems that today everyone just conforms to the obvious stereotypes and are shocked when someone decided to strayfrom that image. that is just horrible.

and this is America. this country was founded on freedom. people are allowed to say, publish, worship, etc. what they want but they aren’t allowed to dress in what feels most comfortable to them? i mean, wigs, makeup, vintage tees, skinny jeans, and flats aren’t against the dress code (most anyway). so that raises the question, why was he expelled? because he was gay. that’s what it comes down too.

there’s a poll on aol, “who do you side with in this dispute?” 68% agrees with the school and only 38% agree with jonathan. now that’s just wrong.

now i for one support jonathan and have no problem with how he dresses. if somone came to my school dressed like that then of course he would be criticized but that’s just because people are always looking for something to talk about. in my opinion, people who have a problem with people who just aren’t like them are small-minded. i think this was the “problem” that happened in GA.

jonathan i hope you sue that school and i know many other people who would support you and your story. and the facebook page doesn’t hurt…

and if you haven’t seen this story yet…

PRE-SCRIPT: There could be part/s where you could feel that I do not like studying in this school. H

PRE-SCRIPT: There could be part/s where you could feel that I do not like studying in this school. However, hatred of studying in my current school is not my point in this post.

It was just a test from the Lord. There is a new world waiting for you out there, somewhere.

Just today, I knew that a second year student would go out of the school. She would study in another school.

In other words, she was expelled.

She had some failing grades in major subjects in her freshman year. And now that she again had a failing mark, it’s time for bye-bye.

It indeed is hard to study here at the Mariano Marcos State University, Laboratory High School – Science Curriculum. Try to picture the situation: you are going to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics for four years, study 2 Mathematics subjects every year for three years, and add up all other minor subjects. Nakakasakit ng ulo, right?

Regular high schools give 80, 90, etc. Here, we recieve 1.0, 1,25, 1.5, up to 5.0. College students are actually much luckier than us. The college people have 3.0 as passing grade (I call it borderline), our passing grade is 2.5 for minor subjects (Languages, social sciences, MAPEH, etc.) and for major subjects (sciences and maths): 2.25!

It seems that parents do not understand our situation at SciHi. A classmate told me that after showing his card to his parents, they were very disappointed about it. He said (restruction), “Don’t you know how hard studying at MMSU SHS is? It’s still the first grading, anyway.”

When I showed my card to my parents, I did not get praise for my 1.5s and 1.75s, and instead received “Why is it that you still have 2.0s?” Yes, just criticism about my 2.0s, no praise for my line of 1s. I was so devastated.

I feel sorry for the newly-expelled student. She did her very best to stay in this prestigious school, but her best wasn’t good. She will not be with her friends and classmates anymore. She will now not have too much pressure. She will now be in a brand new environment, I hope she’ll not experience culture shock.

She told me, my close friend, and a co-debater about her expulsion. My co-debater was teary-eyed. She hugged her. My close friend had some closing moments. He hugged her. I said that it was just a test from the Lord, there is a new world waiting for her out there, somewhere. I hugged her.

Instead of writing my cellphone number in her folder “of memories” (I suppose), I wrote a message that said, “Always have the best in you. Guiengarma”. But now, I’d like to add, “Always be the best you.”

I, and other students will surely miss her.

And I would surely still have the burden of studying in a prestigious school and taking up thirteen subjects every year for four years, with one more year pending.
