In the coming days, Congress will be debating whether or not to raise the country’s debt limit. We

In the coming days, Congress will be debating whether or not to raise the country’s debt limit. We all know that they will raise the limit to some unfathomable level. Time and time again I plead with the American public to contact their representatives in an attempt to stop this kind of nonsense.

Obviously, the American people don’t care or don’t understand the true ramifications of these actions by our government leaders. The debt that we have right now is more than we can pay back within the next 25 years. So raising the limit will only encourage the borrowing of more money that we cannot pay back for generations. This is beyond being stupid. As it is, if the Chinese decided they wanted us to pay back the money we owe them right now, we couldn’t do it. Consequently, they would literally own the entire country. Gone would be all of our freedoms. Gone would be any influence over government. Gone would be the best health care in the world. Gone would be our ability to obtain the truth about anything. Gone would be our right to express our displeasure with the current state of affairs. Gone would be our right to worship the true God or even a god from our imagination.

What this country needs is a balanced budget amendment. It needs to be illegal for our government to borrow money from another country except in the extreme situations of war and natural disaster. We also need an amendment to cap the income tax rate. The government should not have the right to just arbitrarily raise the rates. It is not their money to take. We also need an amendment requiring Congress to account for every penny spent. That way, when 100 – 300 million dollars is allocated to the state of Louisiana, they will have to spell out exactly what that money will be spent on. The only exception should be for military spending and for intelligence spending. Everything else needs to be held accountable to the public. The military and intelligence needs to be held accountable to a bi-partisan Congressional panel not the general public.

If we put in these amendments, then Congress cannot legally spend money they do not have to spend. Plus, they cannot just raise taxes to obtain the money they want for their pet projects. If the pet project is important enough, then cut something else to produce the revenue necessary to pay for that pet project.

People, if we don’t beat this kind of common sense approach into our Congressional representatives, they will continue to sell this country to the rest of the world. We need representatives that will do what is best for this country not for themselves. Call them, write them, email them, do whatever it takes to make it clear to them that enough is enough. Make it clear to them that they need to represent us or they are history.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I wrote a review about clothes, but I was quite impressed by the Fall & Winter collection at EXPRESS. I bought two track jackets and a sweater. All three items are extremely comfortable and all have a modern (tapered) fit. This is great because I absolutely hate extra and unnecessary fabric on my clothes. As a matter of fact I think that I am going to visit them again in the near future to pick up a couple of new items!

Generally, I am not a big fan of bohemian styles. I went through a “hippie” phase in my teens, and such styles generally make me think of the awkwardness that was those years. Yet lately, I find myself drawn to flowing silhouettes and earthy shades of brown. However, I don’t think I’ll ever go “full-hippie”. What I do like is mixing bohemian accents with modern colors. Thus, this outfit is born.

This beautiful blue tunic is a twin of the purple one you’ve seen before. For some reason, I often find twin Target items at my favorite thrift store, Second Image. I don’t usually buy both colors, but I couldn’t resist with these. I removed the ties off this top, since they made it look too much like a maternity top for my liking. Pairing it with my favorite belt gave it plenty of waist definition, although it looks fine unbelted as well.

And in case you were curious, that is my sewing machine in the window.

Throughout numerous online mediums, an individual has the power to communicate to an unseen audience

Throughout numerous online mediums, an individual has the power to communicate to an unseen audience from the privacy and sanctuary of their bedrooms. In doing so, they are revealing themselves in a way that has never before been done. With the aid of youtube and webcams, an individual is able to share parts of themselves that they might not normally think of. They are able to convey messages that grow and inspire other individuals in a novel and powerful way. This form of communication is a type of collaboration that can occur over a wide period of time and space. There is no limit to who will see your post/video, but the point is that it is out there for people to see, share, and experience. By creating these videos, people are uniting and receiving comfort from other people, which they do not know, because they have gone through or felt the same way at some point. They are the extra boost that helps you get through a stressful day at work or the death of a loved one or just a difficult time. Webcams allow you to change your personality, they are a form of self awareness and discovery and reflection. An individual is able to experiment with their own understandings of their self. They can tweak their identities and feel things differently so that they can better understand themselves.

Individuals are able to break down boundaries within themselves as well as with those around them. People can express strong values in a silent way; they are showing ways of accepting yourself as well as other people. There is a video on youtube with a man carrying a sign labeled with: “free hugs;” at first the crowd does not take to it, but gradually they start to give the man hugs. Eventually other people from all over the world start using their own “free hugs” sign and they are able to connect with complete strangers on a very elemental level. Another youtube video poster goes by the name of MadV, he wears the mask from the movie V for Vendetta so he can remain anonymous, and he has trademarked palm messages. These hand messages depict strong values that may at times be forgotten, desired, taken for granted, or needed. Some examples are: love yourself, smile to strangers, be kind, forgive and forget, united, and one world, etc. These messages are definitely breaking down boundaries in novel ways by non-verbalizing vital values that are needed today. This is interesting because these values are felt or thought about in this powerful way, but they are not necessarily spoken about.

Almost everyone loves and wears t-shirts on a regular basis. This is one of the few items of clothing that people can feel comfortable and still look great. It is a highly profitable industry that has many different options available to different people. T-shirts are a great way to make a statement, it is afashion statement or a declaration of a certain belief. You can say something with a t-shirt without ever saying a word.

One of the things that people express on T-shirts is their Christian faith. Christian T-shirts are a great way to show how you feel about your faith. The message on the shirt can be something as simple as "I believe" or the various statements about Jesus or God. A Christian t-shirt can also have a script of the Biblemeans something special to the wearer. A Christian t-shirt can be a little different with flashy graphics or a famous quotes or Christian teaching. There's really no end to what you can put on a t-shirt Christians, just as he speaks to your faith or your Christian faith.

A t-shirt says a lot about a person, and what better way to tell him how you feel on a given topic, then say so right there on your t-shirt for the world to see.

You can also put your Christian message in other objects as well, not only t-shirts. You can get these messagesPrinted on things like coffee mugs, handbags, sweatshirts, key chains, ties, teddy bears, hats and other things. If it can be printed on, chances are you can customize according to your needs. So, if you do not want to give a t-shirt as a gift, there are other gift items, you might as well and they can produce the same desired effect as t-shirts do.

You often can customize anything you want and have it printed, but there are also many great designs alreadyavailable to you. There are some that are very simple while others can play with the various references to popular culture while being able to give the Christian message through.
Rescuers work at the site of a train derailment, about 400 km (250 miles) northwest of Moscow.

The ‘Nevsky Express’ train carrying hundreds of passengers from Moscow to St. Petersburg derailed killing dozens of people and injuring dozens more in Tver Region, Russia, on November 28, 2009.

Four cars derailed.

A bomb attack caused the crash, which killed up to 39 people and injured nearly 130.

The health minister said that the 18 people listed as missing after the incident had not been located in the three car that went off the tracks.

In August 2007, an explosion derailed the same express train on the same railroad line, injuring 60 people. An investigation into that attack continues, with the main suspect still being sought by authorities.

The disaster has fueled fears of a rise in terrorist attacks outside Russia’s volatile North Caucasus region. Russia was hit hard by terrorism in the 1990s and the early years of this decade, but there had been no major incident outside the North Caucasus region since 2004.

I wore this last weekend for dinner out with the family. We went to a hip new restaurant in our neighborhood, Ella’s. The food was amazingly good, and the atmosphere was gorgeous. We are on their outdoor porch under some beautiful old oak trees. I highly recommend going there if you’re in the area.

This purse is too small to be practical most days, but it’s perfect for going out to dinner. It has just enough room for a wallet, cell phone, and a few other necessary trinkets. It’s like having a clutch, only with handles.

I usually shy away from matching too many elements in an outfit. But for this outfit, it just felt right. Every other color of purse I tried felt out of place, and this was perfect. There’s no such thing as hard and fast style rules in my book.

The theme at my school for this day was “Fall Colors” However, most fall colors don’t really look good on me (at least when they’re all together). I chose to make it simple and wear brown and brick red, with denim and black to keep the ensemble from being too warm in tone.

Oh and of course, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! And Happy Thursday to those not in the States!

Day 2. I awoke the next morning tired as all hell. Paige and Kevin were already up, looking refreshe

Day 2.

I awoke the next morning tired as all hell. Paige and Kevin were already up, looking refreshed from a good night’s sleep, I was jealous. They are quite the couple, very cute, very in love and very generous. Well, Paige is at least, Kevin just does what she tells him. This morning his assignment was to make his favorite cousin breakfast, but Kevin felt like procrastinating and letting me starve. Paige ended up making mine, and it was delicious. Cream of rice (Paige has that wheat disease thing), eggs, over-easy and two waffles. I don’t remember what I had to drink. I think we finished our wine from the night before. After breakfast we watched the football game on TV. Paige and Kevin spooned on the couch for the two hours while we watched, how cute I know. Paige asked if I wanted to join, I declined.

We all eventually got ready to go to the mall to pick out a gift for Uncle Danny’s birthday. I also wanted to get a haircut, so tired of long hair… As soona s we arrived Kevin and Paige took me to the haircut place and left me, not intentionally. I got my haircut and met a Russian woman. It was amazing. Her name was Elona, she didn’t tell me much about her, but she cut hair good for a Russian.

Two of my good friends who studied abroad in St. Petersburg last year say Russians give the worst haircuts, “you never know what you are going to come out with,” they always say. But, remember Lareesa? Well she is from Duluth (all relevant I promise) and she has gotten her haircut in the same place for many, many years, by guess who…Russians! I have never seen her with bad hair, whenever she gets a new haircut she looks amazing (especially this last one Reese Piece!). But back to my haircut, Elona did a great job. I look sexy and more Russian if I do say so myself, must have rubbed off.

My conversation with her was a little strange. I knew almost the second I met her that she was Russian from her accent and usually in this situation I get so excited because I love talking, to anyone really but especially a Russian, and if they are an older Russian woman, well that is icing on the cake. But today I was unusually nervous. Maybe that’s because my Russian class at GAC is, well, there aren’t really enough negative adjectives in the English language to describe it. That said, I waited until after she washed my hair to ask, in Russian, where she was from. We got back to the hair-cutting chair and I finally found enough courage to ask her. She stared at me in the mirror with puzzling eyes. Москвы (Moscow) she replied. “А вы говорите по русски?” (And you speak Russian?) she asked. “Да,” (yes) I answered. I won’t bore you with the whole conversation (and I really don’t want to switch keyboards 50,00 times to tell you the whole thing) but basically she told me I was insane to go to Irkutsk, a response I have been getting a lot but I refuse to budge. On a happier note, she said I had excellent intonation and spoke with a native accent, something every American child of Russian dreams of hearing. THANK YOU TATIANA & EVGENII!

This was the best haircut I think I have ever gotten, and will be hard to beat. I tipped Elona extra and said goodbye. She wished me good luck with that sarcastic Russian look, and with a hint of you know I really think you’re crazy, boy in her voice. But, it didn’t matter that she thought I was crazy, she still liked me. I rate my like-ability by the haircut I received, two words, damn sexy.

I met up with Paige and Kevin in Express. A horrible first choice to start shopping, by the mere fact that it is one of my all time favorite stores, and I knew it would take everything to keep from buying something. Paige had a great strategy though, she kept me in the women’s section, and therefore, I was unable to bask in the Express-ness.

After Express we went to the food court to eat. I got Subway, Kevin, a gut-buster, i.e. the biggest f-ing burger you have ever seen. Paige had more trouble, as for her wheat disease. She was left with ice cream with walnuts and peaches, which turned out to be disgusting. Dissatisfied, she went back up and asked for a new drink, and they gave it to her. Oh to be a beautiful woman and able to get anything you want.

After lunch there was more shopping. We hit up all the good cooking stores for Uncle Danny’s gift but left empty-handed. Everything was god awful expensive. Nonetheless, we did manage to have tons of fun playing with all the neat salt and pepper shakers and imagining all the cool things we would want in our houses. That is, if we ever get houses. Like I said, everything is so freaking expensive. One can dream though.

Cooking utensils out, we headed over to Finishline to try our hands at athletic wear. This was more of our kind of store. While Kevin looked around Paige and I took pictures and danced to the store music; Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z i.e. great dancing music. Kevin got Danny a UnderArmour work-out shirt, pretty cool. I, feeling especially happy about being a cancer survivor that day, asked Kevin to purchase a Livestrong bracelet in mine and Lance’s honor, he obliged. Cancer card, works every time. Paige got two buttons for her Crocs in support of the bankrupt company, and she has Crocs.

Exhausted, or at least I was, we left the mall and headed back home. Paige had to go home, sadly, leaving me alone with Kevin, not that, that was bad. I was just sad she had to leave. Kevin and I chilled at the apartment and watched TV. Feeling hungry later we headed to McDonald’s and took advantage of the Red-Box DVDs. I rented ‘The Goods,’ ‘Wolverine,’ and ‘Gran Torino.’ The first was amazing, the second okay, and the third ended horribly. You can all probably guess what time I went to bed…yup, 4.

Day 3 later.

After all the stuff that has seemed to happen lately a little bit should be added. I know that music is art and that this is America and we have the right to express ourselves freely. But, I think that the music should speak for itself. The words and the instruments should be what matters. When you listen to a song you don’t see the people singing or performing it you just hear words and musical tones. It is great to see a performance and get lost in the music and not the actions. But I am only talking about music that we listen to on the radio. Music is expressed in various forms like acting. But that is meant to tell a story. Just take a few minutes out of your day pick a song to listen to and just listen to it. In the end you will fell better about yourself.

intelligent, kurz: piratisch.

Und im EXPRESS, Seite 35 schreibt Cris Merting: Armes Kölle:

Nix es ömesöns:

In dieser Woche machte die Stadt Kassensturz. Kurz: Mutter Colonia

geht am Stock.

Die Stadt hat 2,4 Milliarden Euro Schulden. Jeder Kölner steht

mit 2.400 Euro in der Kreide. Zählen Sie mal zu Hause Ihre

Lieben durch und multiplizieren Sie.

Dann wissen Sie, was eine Krise ist. Nix es ömesöns.

Seit 1999 drückte Köln 1 645 600 000 Euro an Zinsen ab.

Allein für Zinsen!

Das sind fünfeinhalb neue Opern. Oder die Ablöse für 164 Podolskis.

Oder 156 387 nagelneue Ford Ka. Oder 1,3 Milliarden Glas Kölsch. Prost!

Dietmarmoews meint – So liegen Leichtsinn und Blödheit beieinander;

Produktion, Performance, Autor, Direktion: Dr. Dietmar Moews;

Aufnahmetechnik und Admin: Piratencrew Berlin
