EyePet : un "animal de compagnie" en réalité augmentée

Je me suis amusé à essayer EyePet, disponible depuis peu sur PlayStation 3. Ce petit “animal de compagnie” virtuel exploite les possibilités de la réalité augmentée. Il vit dans un écran, mais je jurerais pourtant qu’il se déplace dans mon salon, et ceci grâce à la caméra PlayStation Eye.

EyePet réagit aux sons et aux mouvements, et sait interagir avec son environnement (réel) à la façon d’un animal réel. C’est assez impressionnant. Au début du jeu, EyePet apparaît sous la forme d’un oeuf, et il faut le réchauffer, le tapoter, etc. pour que, de l’oeuf, sorte ce petit animal facétieux et surprenant. Il bondit quand on remue les doigts, il saute quand on agite les mains au-dessus de lui, il aime les caresses, etc.

La réalité augmentée est pleine de promesses : voilà qu’avec EyePet une nouvelle génération de jouets fait son apparition. Si on y ajoutait de l’intelligence artificielle, cela pourrait sans doute donner des résultats vraiment impressionnants, et dépasser le seul domaine du jeu…

EyePet has been given a band-aid for his injury. What? It isn’t that type of patch?

Next time you your children boot up EyePet for a bit of virtual cuteness they will be greeted with a patch screen. This patch allows you to share your captured moments with other EyePet-lovers around the world. You can also view and rate other players’ videos. This can be found under the EyePet Online section.

As well as this new feature there have been a couple of bugs fixed. They have fixed the problem in which the professor would be replaced with a grey box when a secret prize was unlocked. Also, flowers are much easier to remove from the garden. They have also improved EyePet’s hearing. Regardless of your microphone settings EyePet will be able to understand you properly. There are also some other, minor fixes.

EyePet Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas

It’s a common request from thousands (if not millions) of kids around the globe: they want a pet for Christmas, but it isn’t always practical. For starters, Santa Claus has to find a way to transport them, and putting them in a bag with all the rest of his presents is just cruel. That, and he can’t guarantee that he’ll be able to keep the boy puppies and girl puppies away from each other. That’s why Santa invented the Tamagotchi a few years back (there’s an argument over rights, at the moment, so you won’t find him credited on Wikipedia just yet) and now, why Sony have invented the EyePet.

Exclusive to the PS3, EyePet provides what every kid dreams of: a pet in a box, all with the parental dreams of minimal clean-up and the ability to be turned off when it gets too much. The game comes packaged with the PlayStation Eye Camera and a card (more on this later) with the combined effect of allowing players to interact with a pet in their own home. By placing the camera at knee height, the console maps your living room (or as much of it as it can see) and then puts your EyePet inside, giving him (or her) their own space to play and interact. Movement within the area of play will impact the EyePet, whether an encouragement to jump up, to pounce on your hand or to rub the animal.

Like the aforementioned Tamagotchi, gameplay is all about looking after your pet, including feeding your pet, playing with it and exercising, along with the obligatory customisation that comes with so many games these days. The card that comes with EyePet, a black piece of plastic with an embossed paw print, is recognised by the game as a variety of different instruments: when the camera registers the image, it will overlay the card with a cup (for a feeding mini-game), or a variety of grooming or play products to interact with your pet. In real life, you’ll be sitting in your living room playing waving around a piece of plastic, but on-screen, you’ll be brushing your pet.

EyePet does exactly what it sets out to do, effectively bringing pet-based gameplay from a portable to a home console, but like those other games, the appeal wears thin rather quickly when you’re more used to using the PS3 to shoot aliens or watch movies. But what should interest any and all gamers here is the use of the PlayStation Eye Camera as a means of interacting with the game: it’s a simple game, but the technology at use and displayed is impressive thanks to the motion recognition, a logical next step from the Wii and already giving what Microsoft hope to provide with Project Natal. It’s a suitable update, moving the pet-based gaming from the realm of single button input, through touch recognition and out the other side.

Looking at just the technology, it’s going to be very interesting to see the what Sony brings up next. While EyePet itself will go down a treat with kids under ten, you might want to wait until they go to bed and have a go yourself, just so you can see exactly what Santa will soon be trying to push down the chimney, and what you’ll be asking him to bring as your own present this time next year.

And so, another festive season approaches and with it the promise of a plethora of tasty treats to keep us occupied and entertained throughout the coming winter. Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or a total tech-head (possibly a little from column “A” and a little from column “b”, to paraphrase our favourite chubby, balding resident of Springfield), there is sure to be something coming along that you can’t wait to get your grubby little mitts on. Let’s take this opportunity to have a look at a small selection of what’s going to be on offer over the next couple of months…..

As far as games go this year, there is only going to be one contender for Game Of The Year across the board. Released on 10th November, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has generated more hype than any other game in recent memory. With teaser trailers and snippets of gameplay footage seeping their way out into the wonderful world wide web, national and international media coverage growing daily, and even HMV mystery shoppers getting in on the action, momentum is growing daily, along with huge anticipation of the game’s release.

For those of you not in the know, COD: MW2 as it is known, will be the definitive first-person shooter. The storyline follows on directly from Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare but the gameplay promises to be far from just more of the same. New features included this time around comprise;

• Co-operative SpecOps mode

• Customisable Killstreaks – choose your own reward for kicking butt!

• New perks, weapons and enhancements

And of course, much, much more. Suffice to say, this game is a must-have for all shooter fans out there. If you haven’t yet seen any of the in-game footage or you’re new to the franchise and don’t know your claymores from your flashbangs, then pop over to www.modernwarfare2.com to feast your eyes on the exclusive previews and arm yourself with all the facts about this years biggest and best console game. If you find yourself on the shop floor, being asked for games recommendations by everyone from struggling gifters to first-time console buyers, COD: MW2 would be an ideal starting place.

However, it’s not all guts and glory this yuletide as far as gaming goes. Somebody once said that Christmas is for kids, and if that’s the case, this next game is the perfect festive treat for ankle-biters everywhere. Sony’s EyePet is the next generation of virtual pet care and will tear strips off all the other also-rans. Forget Tamagochi (if you haven’t already), and ditch Nintendogs, this is the future of human/computer-generated sprite interaction. Yeah, virtual pet care sounds much better doesn’t it!?

EyePet works in sync with the EyeToy camera and reacts to every move and command. Essentially, you become the proud owner of a cute, furry little critter that appears on-screen and interacts with the images of you that are relayed back to the PS3 via the EyeToy camera. If you tickle him, he’ll laugh…. roll a ball around on the floor and he’ll chase it…. clap your hands above his head while he’s dozing and he’ll jump to life with a start! You can even draw pictures of things such as cars and planes and place them on the floor. EyePet will then pick up the virtual image and turn it into a toy to play with on-screen. Other features include customisable outfits and the ability to capture photos and videos of your pet, amongst others. More information and videos, etc. are available at www.eyepet.com. Available as a solus game and also bundled with the EyeToy camera, expect these to fly off the shelves as we get closer to Xmas. To be honest, you’d have to be pretty heartless not to find this cute little thing pretty adorable, if only for the fact that he won’t crap behind the telly!

To finish, let’s think briefly about tech and accessories. Once again we look set to have a big 4th quarter in technology sales, greatly boosted by the recently released and revamped iPod family. Apple’s latest generation of portable digital music players will dominate the market as always, full of USPs and enhanced features, not to mention looking and feeling far better than any of the alternatives. It is definitely worth familiarising yourself with the additions included this time around as the new capabilities of these little beauties are quite considerable! Whether you’re a fitness freak making use of the built-in Nike+ and pedometer on the new Nano, or a budding moviemaker taking the video camera feature for a spin, there is something to keep everyone satisfied. There really is no alternative when considering purchasing a digital player, and no, I’m not on commission!

Last, we come to the old favourites, the perennial bestsellers, those seasonal trends that rear their heads around the beginning of November and then vanish without a whisper in the first weeks of the New Year. Tech and accessories are wanton bedfellows with the perennials and expect to see huge sales increases on many items, including some that you couldn’t give away for most of the year. Having said that, there is of course a massive range of quality product that will rapidly pick up the closer we get to the big day. Look out for the In Your Pocket range coming back with a vengeance, alongside the classic regionalised Monopoly Board Game (as well as a Coronation Street edition coming 2nd November!)

Det første som skjer i EyePet burde vekke et slags moderinstinkt hos selv den tøffeste og mest vidløftige mannsperson. Man får beskjed om å legge det medfølgende Magic Card (et enkelt plastkort med håndtak) på gulvet foran seg. Du legger det pent ned på gulvflaten, som selvsagt er åpen og frigjort for rot eller møbler, og et stort egg erstatter det kortet som engang var. Dette kortet vil heretter representere alle objekter i spillet, være det seg et dusjhode, en hårtørker eller et røntgenapparat.

En ganske nedlatende og barnevennlig professor ber deg i hvert fall ruge på egget, daske litt og være generelt innpåsliten. Jeg kan legge til at professoren snakker norsk, en hyggelig gest som definitivt vil bli satt pris på av spillets yngste deltakere. Etter noen minutter med hektisk arbeid har egget slått tilstrekkelig med sprekker og den søteste avde søteste åpenbarer seg. Si hei til EyePet!

Men alt er ikke en umiddelbar dans på roser og margarin. I begynnelsen slet jeg veldig med å få kameraet til å reagere noenlunde riktig, og måtte gjentatte ganger riste ukontrollert for å oppnå ønsket resultat. Problemet viste seg å være det labre lysnivået i stuen vår, og det løste seg med et par lamper.

Wir waren heute von Sony in Berlin eingeladen, um den neuen PlayStation Hit EyePet auszuprobieren.
Und was sollen wir sagen, wir haben uns in dieses knufflig süße Äffchen verliebt.
Dieses Spiel ist ein Muss für jede Familie unter dem Weihnachtsbaum. Hier unsere Eindrücke von unserem Treffen mit dem EyePet…

Die Packung in der EyePet verkauft wird, gibt es wahlweise mit oder ohne Kamera zu kaufen, darin enthalten ist das Spiel und die Magic Card.
Die Magic Card benutzt ihr, um Gegenstände auf den Bildschirm zu zaubern, wie Shampoo, einen Gesundheitsscanner oder eine Bowlingbahn.
Nach dem Start erklärt euch ein Professor, wie ihr eure Kamera und Lichtverhältnisse einstellen müsst und wieviel Platz ihr in eurem Zimmer braucht.
Wir finden, dass ihr mit normaler Deckenbeleuchtung am besten fahrt und statt eines Tisches wie in den Videos, den Fußboden zum Spielen benutzen solltet.

Habt ihr alles eingestellt, kann es auch schon losgehen und ihr seht ein Ei auf dem Bildschirm aus dem euer EyePet schlüpfen wird.
Aber nicht von alleine, denn zunächst müsst ihr es wärmen und mit ihm spielen damit es sich traut aus seinem Ei zu kommen.
Nachdem es draußen ist, will es natürlich seinen Namen wissen, wir haben unser Äffchen einmal Oscar genannt.

Ab jetzt habt ihr Zugriff aus das Start Menü. Von hier aus könnt ihr zum Beispiel den Tagesplan starten, wo ihr immer einige Aufgaben zugewiesen bekommt die ihr zusammen mit euren neuem Mitbewohner welcher in eurem Fernseher wohnt, erledigen müsst.
Am Anfang zum Beispiel springt euer Eyepet auf einem Trampolin, es hüpft jedoch so hin und her, dass ihr die Position des Trampolins immer neu justieren müsst, damit es nicht auf dem Boden plumpst. Die Steuerung des Trampolins übernehmt ihr mit der Magic Card, die ihr hier auf dem Boden hin und her bewegen müsst während ihr auf dem Bildschirm statt der Karte das Trampolin seht.
Doch dies ist noch nicht alles, aus dem Hauptmenü heraus könnt ihr euer EyePet auch ganz beliebig anpassen, neu einkleiden, frisieren, sauber machen oder füttern.

Spaß machen auch die vielen Spiele, die ihr nach und nach freischalten könnt. Unser Oscar malt nämlich sehr gerne und so konnten wir Minispiele ausprobieren, zum Beispiel, in dem ein Flugzeug von uns auf Papier gemalt wurde, dieses wird dann in die Kamera gehalten, der Baustoff ausgesucht und schon malt euer neues Hausäffchen dieses nach und ein echtes Flugzeug erscheint im Spiel. Nun könnt ihr zusammen mit ihm losfliegen und Ballons zerplatzen lassen.
Nach und nach stehen euch weitere Spielzeuge, Materialien und natürlich auch Anziehsachen zur Verfügung mit dem ihr euch und eurem Spielgefährten eine Freude machen könnt.

So könnt ihr auch das eingebaute Mikrofon in der Kamera benutzen um eurem kleinen Freund das Singen beizubringen oder ihm durch Händeklatschen zum Springen zu animieren.

Eyepet macht wirklich großen Spaß und ist auch nur der Anfang. Bereits jetzt stehen 2 Pakete zum Download bereit, eines mit Westernsachen zum anziehen für 2,99 € und ein kostenloses Überraschungspaket. Diese findet ihr im EyePet Store im Hauptmenü.
Hier wird es in Zukunft immer wieder weitere Inhalte geben, zum Beispiel ist bereits ein Weihnachtspaket in Planung.
Sollte sich EyePet gut verkaufen, woran wir keinen Zweifel haben, wird es von Sony sicherlich bald weitere Add-ons oder gar andere Tierarten geben. Wie wäre es denn mit EyeCat als Idee?

Bis zu 4 EyePets können erstellt werden,die gleichzeitig in einem Profil wohnen können, somit sollte es keinen Streit in der Familie geben. Gibt es mehr als 4 EyePet Fans in der Familie fragt einfach eure Eltern oder Mitbewohner, ob sie sich auch ein Profil erstellen wollen, welches euch dann Platz für 4 weitere Pets gibt.

Allerdings können (noch nicht) mehrere EyePets zusammen auf einem Bildschirm erscheinen. Dies wäre vielleicht eine nützliche Funktion die man hinzufügen könnte.

So wäre es doch schön, wenn alle EyePets der Familie zusammen Weihnachten feiern könnten und zusammen neue Geschenke auspacken würden.

Wir können dieses Spiel wirklich nur empfehlen, es dürfte auch Erwachsenen Freude bereiten, also nicht wundern wenn zunächst Vati als erstes sein Haustier erstellen und ausprobieren möchte.
Es ist erstaunlich wie real das EyePet auf dem Bildschirm erscheint und wie leicht und angenehm das interagieren mit ihm ist. Dank der Fähigkeiten der PlayStation 3 sieht das Spiel nicht nur grafisch schön aus, sondern alle Aktionen von euch kommen ohne Zeitverzögerung direkt bei eurem kleinem Freund im Fernseher an.

Trophiejäger können sich 35 Trophies einheimsen und sicherlich auch daran ihren Spaß haben.

Das Spiel soll seit heute dem 23. Oktober im Handel sein, allerdings konnten weder wir noch andere das Spiel bisher irgendwo im Laden sehen, vielleicht müssen wir und unsere zukünftigen Haustiere noch ein wenig gedulden.

Przed Wami materiał z konferencji Sony na którą byłem zaproszony. Tekst skleciłem na potrzeby serwisu gamebox24.pl, gdzie jestem jednym z redaktorów. Niedługo jednak porzucę tą stronę (brak czasu, praca, obowiązki) więc zajmę się wyłącznie pisaniem i aktualizowaniem mojego bloga.

20 Października w Warszawskiej Galerii Mokotów odbyła się konferencja prasowa Sony, na której zaprezentowano szerszej publiczności (a w szczególności dzieciom) trzy gry – EyePet, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time oraz Invizimals. Twórcy tych tytułów dokładnie je zaprezentowali, pokazali zwiastuny i podali kilka ważnych informacji. Na pokazie zjawiło się naprawdę dużo zaproszonych gości m.in. Jarek Jakimowicz z synem, Julia Wróblewska, Robert Leszczyński oraz prowadzący impreze Maciej Kurzajewski.

Stawiłem się w wyznaczonym miejscu i w nie do końca wyznaczonym czasie (ehh te Warszawskie korki), gdyż bardzo chciałem zobaczyć w akcji nowe przygody Ratcheta i Clanka. Pozostałe tytuły wydawały mi się na tyle dziecinne, że miałem im poświęcić mniej uwagi. Czytelnicy gameboxa24 wiedzą, że już nie raz i nie dwa moje plany wzięły w łeb. Po zobaczeniu w akcji EyePeta zawładnęła mną jakaś dziwna, chora, niekontrolowana fascynacja tym tytułem. Pozwolicie więc, że w pierwszej kolejności podziele się z Wami moimi odczuciami na temat tej gry.

EyePet jest bardzo urozmaiconą i dostosowaną do dzisiejszych standardów grą w stylu Tamagotchi (chociaż to porównanie nie do końca jest trafne). Pod naszą opieke zostaje powierzone małe stworzenie – tytułowy Pet. Aby jednak można się było naszym zwierzakiem zajmować, potrzebować będziemy kamerki (która rejestruje nasze ruchy) oraz specjalnej karty (która na ekranie telewizora „transformuje” się w różnego rodzaju przedmioty). Ważna uwaga techniczna: kamerka musi być skierowana w kierunku ziemi (czyt. podłogi), najlepiej, aby była ona w jasnych barwach (na pokazie przykryto materac białym kocem). Gdy już cały sprzęt mamy rozstawiony, możemy zacząć zabawe.

Jak już wspomniałem zwierzątkiem można, a nawet trzeba się opiekować. Bez karmienia, mycia, wizyt u lekarza itp. podstawowych czynności się nie obędzie. No dobra, ale jak rozpoznać czy coś dolega naszemu pupilowi? Twórcy rozwiązali tę sprawę za pomocą rentgena. Po prostu prześwietlamy naszego stworka i już wiemy czego w danej chwili potrzebuje.

Oprócz obowiązków wynikających z opieki nad naszym Petem, w grze znalazły się również elementy zabawy, które wypadają naprawdę rewelacyjnie. Ze zwierzątkiem możemy się bawić w różnoraki sposób. Przykładowo, możemy narysować na kartce jakiś przedmiot (np. samochodzik). Pokazujemy go kamerce i po chwili nasz stworek rysuje taki sam obrazek, który zmienia się w trójwymiarowy model! Taki samochodzik wywołuje niemałą radość naszemu pupilowi, który dotyka go łapkami, wsiada na niego i cieszy się niczym małe dziecko. Pojazdem oczywiście możemy sterować za pomocą pada, co daje również dużo frajdy graczowi.

Ale to nie jedyny sposób na zabawe. Dzięki kamerce która rejestruje nasze ruchy, możemy pogłaskać naszego zwierzaka. Możemy też pomachać palcami w górze, by ten uradowany zaczął do nich skakać! Jest jeszcze magiczna karta, która na ekranie telewizora zmienia się w różnego rodzaju przedmioty. Prysznic, paczka z jedzonkiem, rentgen, skocznia dla samochodów i wiele wiele innych rzeczy przydatnych w zabawie. Naprawdę fajnie jest wchodzić w interakcje z czymś, co tak naprawdę istnieje tylko na ekranie telewizora, a zachowuje się jak prawdziwe zwierze.

Szczególnie widać to po animacji. Wszystkie ruchy i gesty są wykonane perfekcyjnie. Futerko elegancko się porusza i faluje. Gdy Pet się skrada, doskonale widać jak pracują wszystkie części jego wirtualnego ciała, a na twarzy pojawia się skupienie. Po chwili atakuje nasze dłonie niczym polujący kot. Naprawdę coś nieprawdopodobnego!

Na koniec wspomne jeszcze tylko o fajnym i prostym w obsłudze edytorze, który pozwala na stylizacje (czyt. zmiane wyglądu) naszego stworka. Małą część jego możliwości możecie znajeść w filmiku poniżej.

Już wiem, że EyePet będzie jednym z tych tytułów, który nigdy się nie znudzi i zawsze będzie chętnie kupowany. Szczególnie jeśli chodzi o dzieci (bo do nich w szczególności ta gra jest kierowana), które nie mogą uprosić się rodziców o żywego, prawdziwego zwierzątka. Z możliwościami jakie daje dziś internet tylko patrzeć, aż na PlayStation Store zaczną pojawiać się jakieś nowe, ciekawe dodatki do gry. Nowe przedmioty, nowe zadania, nowe stroje i wiele wiele więcej. Możliwości są nieograniczone!

Należą się też wielkie brawa za bardzo przystępną cene:

Gra dostępna jest w pełnej, polskiej wersji językowej.

To tyle jeśli chodzi o EyePet. Mam nadzieje, że choć troszkę Was tym produktem zainteresowałem.

Kolejnym tytułem, jaki można było zobaczyć na konferencji prasowej Sony, to mało znana, choć na pewno ciekawa gra Invizimals na konsole PSP. Tytuł ten pojawi się na półkach sklepowych 11 listopada i podobnie jak EyePet, będzie całkowicie w języku Polskim! A o co w nim chodzi?

Jeśli EyePet jest w mniejszym lub większym stopniu odpowiednikiem Tamagotchi, tak Invizimals można porównać do popularnych Pokemonów. Zasady obu gier są takie same, chodzi o wyłapanie wszystkich dostępnych w grze stworków. Czyli popularne hasło „Złap je wszystkie” znowu stanie się modne. O ile jednak w Pokemonach cały świat gry był wirtualny, tak w przypadku Invizimals mamy do czynienia z troszkę inną konecpcją.

Za pomocą kamerki przyczepionej do PSP „skanujemy” otoczenie. Gdy natrafimy na formy wirtualnego życia, konsola w odpowiedni sposób nam to zakomunikuje (najczęściej widzimy niewyraźny zarys „tego czegoś”) i zaczynie się proces polowania. Ale żeby móc polować, trzeba wiedzieć na co? Do tego służy nam specjalna karta z otworem w środkowej części, dostarczona wraz z grą. Wystarczy, że położymy taką karte w miejsce gdzie konsola wykryła życie i połączymy krążące po ekanie elementy. Te zaś złączone w jedną całość, wskażą nam ostateczny wygląd stworka. Gdy widzimy go w całej okazałości, możemy przejść do fazy ostatecznego schwytania. Odbywa się to przy pomocy przeróżnych mini-gier.

Twórcy zapewniali, że owych gierek jest na tyle dużo, by nie było mowy o nudzie. I faktycznie, zaprezentowano proste konkurencje, które wyglądały bardzo efektownie i dawały dużo radości. Przykładowo, by zwabić stwora do pułapki musimy rytmicznie wygwizdać kawałek melodii (co nie jest prostą sprawą), użyć siły (popychając go ręką tak, aby wpadł do dziury) czy też układać droge z kawałków liści (skacząc po nich stwór sam wpadnie do dziury). Dane mi było zobaczyć tylko te trzy konkurencje, ale sami przyznacie, są bardzo fajnie pomyślane i nie banalne.

No dobra, a co jeśli schwytamy już naszego gada? Tutaj znowu, podobnie jak w Pokemonach możemy wystawiać go do walki (będzie tryb multiplayer). Pod przyciskami geometrycznymi konsoli, zostały przypisane konkretne ciosy – od zwykłych i najprostszych, aż do mega specjałów, które natychmiastowo kończą walke. Ataki specjalne wykonuje się np. poprzez dmuchnięcie w mikrofon kamerki, co wywołuje potężny podmuch wiatru, który zdmuchuje przeciwnika z areny.

Co by gra się szybko nie znudziła, twórcy zadbali o odpowiednio dopasiony tryb story. Będziemy razem z naszymi zdobyczami zwiedzać co raz to nowe krainy, brać udział w różnego rodzaju turniejach czy też kupować specjalne przedmioty przydatne podczas wędrówki.

Jeśli chodzi o kwestię grafiki, to całe tło generowane jest w czasie rzeczywistym przez kamerke, więc pojęcie fotorealizmu jest tu jak najbardziej na miejscu . Same stworki (ok 100 sztuk do zdobycia) również wyglądają całkiem przyzwoicie, a i ich animacja nie wypada najgorzej.

Pora napisać parę słów podsumowania. Cóż, nie wiem czy ta gra osiągnie taki sukces, na jaki zasługuje. Prawda jest taka, że był to najmniej oblegany tytuł na tej konferencji. A szkoda, bo to naprawdę fajna, sympatyczna i przemyślana produkcja. Twórcy chcieli rozwinąc idee Pokemonów i doskonale im się to udało. Sam gameplay również doskonale wpisuje się w specyfikacje przenośnej konsoli. Ta informuje nas o formach życia, gdy natrafimy na odpowiedni kolor (np. zielony – żabopodobny stwór, brązowy – smok). Tak więc siedznie w domu może nie wystarczeć, jeśli ktoś będzie chciał „mieć je wszystkie”. Trzeba będzie pofatygować się do parku czy lasu, bowiem nigdy nie wiadomo gdzie odkryjemy kolejną zdobycz.

Niestety nie znamy jeszcze dokładnej ceny tego tytułu. Mam tylko nadzieje, że będzie to poziom zbliżony do EyePet – przynajmniej tego bym sobie i wszystkim graczom życzył. No i ostatnia kwestia doczyczy posiadaczy PSP Go, którzy muszą cierpliwie czekać na odpowiednia przejściówkę, dzięki której podłączą kamerke do konsoli.

Kolejną, ostatnią prezentowaną grą był Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Tytuł ten kontynuuje wątek fabularny, który znamy z poprzednich części (Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction oraz Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty). Ratchet nadal poszukuje swojego przyjaciela Clanka. Czy go odnajdzie? Tego będziecie mogli się dowiedzieć już 4 listopada, kiedy to gra trafi do sklepów.

Przyznam szczerze, że gra jakoś nie specjalnie pasowała do pozostałych tytułów. EyePet oraz Invizimals to gry jakby nie patrzeć typowe dla niedzielnych graczy. Ratchet natomiast to już wyrobiona, znana marka i troszeczkę inny target.

Twórcy skupili się na zaprezentowaniu nowości. We wcześniejszych odsłonach serii, animacja lotu statkiem na inną planete była sprytną próbą zamaskowania loadingów. Teraz się to zmieni. Sami nim pokierujemy, wykonując przy tym mniej lub bardziej skomplikowane zadania. Najczęściej jednak będzie to zniszczenie zaznaczonych celów, czy po prostu dotarcie na powierzchnię planety. Naprawdę fajny patent, który od razu nasuwa skojarzenia z serią StarFox. Cóż, jak papugować to od najlepszych. Statek z czasem będziemy mogli ulepszać dodając do niego coraz to zmyślniejsze bronie czy osłony, co na pewno przyda się w walce.

Kolejną nowością są antygrawitacyjne buty, dzięki którym Ratchet będzie mógł szybciej się poruszać, na specjalnie do tego skonstruowanych torach. Wszystko utrzymane jest w stricte zręcznościowym podejściu, więc trzeba wykazać się nielada refleksem przeskakując nad przepaściami, czy porozmieszczanymi tu i ówdzie pułapkami. Takich torów przygotowano naprawdę dużo, więc na pewno nie będzie mowy o nudzie. W końcu brakuje dzisiaj porządnych, zręcznościowo-platformowych gier z prawdziwego zdarzenia, a ten tytuł zdaje się tą luke w pewnym stopniu zapełnić. I podobnie jak w przypadku lotów statkiem, będzie to bardzo przyjemny „czasoumilacz”. Ja osobiście jestem na TAK.

No dobrze, ale czym by był Ratchet bez swoich wykręczonych w kosmos pukawek? Mimo iż najbardziej lubiane spluwy zostaną (np. znana z poprzednich części – dyskoteka, czy samonaprowadzające pociski), to dodano kilka nowych, naprawdę fajnych sprzętów. I tak przykładowo możemy przywołać do siebie pomocnika, który będzie leciał przy naszym boku i pomagał rozwalać co mocniejszych przeciwników. Możemy też wypuścić czarną chmure która (dosłownie) zje przeciwników. Ale największą rozpierduche czyniła broń plująca niezliczoną ilością małych pocisków i wystrzeliwująca samonaprowadzające rakiety. Po prostu MOC!

Jeśli chodzi o grafike, to gra wygląda rewelacyjnie! Nie jest to co prawda poziom Uncharted 2, jednak widać, że twórcy nie spoczeli na laurach i względem ostatniej części dorzucili kilka ciekawych efektów oraz posiedzieli nad silnikiem napędzającym grę. Wszystko jest bajkowe, kolorowe, przywołujace na myśl filmy animowane. Dobra robota!

Pamiętacie jak SCEP poinformował Polskich graczy, że do końca tego roku zlokalizują 99% gier? Niestety okazało się, że tym jednym, brakującym procentem będzie właśnie Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Tak więc, będziemy musieli zadowolić się tym tytułem w języku angielskim. Troszkę szkoda, ale i tak warto tą grą się zainteresować. Jak dla mnie – „Musisz Mieć”.

M-am uitat si eu la tv la ultimele meciuri din Liga Campionilor. La pauza, reclame. Doua dintre ele mi-au atras atentia.

Prima cu Cristiano Ronaldo. La ulei de motor. Ma intreb, oare de as lua eu un ulei de motor recomandat de Cristiano Ronaldo. Cred ca a pierdut de mult timp numarul masinilor pe care le are in garaj. De ce s-ar pricepe cum sa schimbe uleiul? Sau care e mai bun? Sau pe unde se schimba uleiul? Plus ca, si aici e o parere subiectiva, proprie si personala…nu-mi place fata lui; are fata de smecheras de cartier; nu pot sa-l sufar; probabil ca nici el pe mine, daca m-ar cunoaste.

A doua la PS3. Un domn corpolent isi schimba tricoul cu jucatorii. Nu are nicio treaba cu sportul. Alt sport decat ridicatul halbelor cu bere de pe masa. Mi s-a parut ciudat, nu intelegeam despre ce e vorba. Dupa un timp am percutat. Sony l-a scos pe piata in urma cu o saptamana. E vorba de EyePet. Chestia costa vreo 50 eur. E un joc. Are o camera web care capteaza toate miscarile celor aflati in raza ei de actiune. Imaginea e proiectata pe ecranul “tembelizorului”. Si, practic, te joci cu animalutul virtual care apare pe ecran. Desigur, toata treaba merge doar daca detii si PS3-ului. Care pe la noi e vreo 1000 de lei.

Ce poti sa faci cu animalutul? Te joci, il speli, il hranesti. Se poate juca si cu niste jucarii virtuale, create de joc pe o suprfata din plastic care se livreaza cu jocul. Cica poti sa desenezi diverse chestii, care vor fi, apoi, reproduse pe televizor. Si folosite de “bestia” virtuala.

Cum vad eu treaba- sa te joci cu asta de cateva ori…e in regula. Folosit prea des cred ca devine neplacut pentru dezvoltarea ulterioara a plodului. Pana la urma e doar un joc care nu-l ajuta sa se dezvolte prea mult. Probabil ca tot interactiunea cu un caine real sau cu un animal la gradina zoologica sunt mai adecvate. Iar din punct de vederea fizic, daca ti-ai ales un caine bun, cred ca e mult mai in regula. Pentru ca un caine il solicita fizic pe acel copil. Animalu’ virtual deloc. Doar un pic, acolo, vizual. Plus ca trebuie sa stea sa se benocleze la tv. Deci privirea atintita intr-un singur loc.

Ouais, il n’y a que sur EcchiGaming que l’on peut oser des titres aussi pourris. Et encore, après hésitation !

EyePet, le Tamagotchi dernière génération fait son apparition dans nos p’tites boutiques des horreurs. Après nous avoir chauffer les yeux et les oreilles sur sa conception dite révolutionnaire, la peluche de Sony a enfin dévoilé son potentiel aux bambinos trentenaires accompagnés de leurs petits chérubins adorés.

Bilan à court terme : De l’émerveillement pur et dur.

Bilan à moyen et long terme : Le titre de Sony peine à se renouveler et pourrait terminer son existence entre une vieille bible défraîchie et l’annuaire professionnel 2004, sitôt les rares défis terminés. A moins bien entendu de voir un éditeur de grande renommée combler les appétits des petits à grand renfort de contenus téléchargeables. Sur ce point, on peut une fois encore compter sur Sony, qui n’oublie jamais ses fidèles.

Pour la modique somme de 50€ avec une webcam PS3, le titre vaut le détour, à condition de respecter certaines règles : un espace suffisant devant l’écran, une lumière diffuse, et, des marmots pas trop pâtos. Des vieux marmots avec une barbe de 3 jours, quoi !

J'en connais un qui va finir à la poubelle s'il continue à tirer la langue...

EyePet! How can you not love him? (her? it?) Admit it, you think it’s cute. Some people claim that it is ugly and “freaky looking” but I’m sure they are just trying to act all masculine.

When you first boot up EyePet you are greeted by a professor who, you will find, will guide you through setting up your room, hatching your egg (yeah, these things come from eggs) and showing you how to take care of your Pet. This information is more valuable than you would think, at first. You get taught how to feed, clean and entertain your pet before you are let loose and have to take good care of it yourself. The instructions you get are, obviously, very simple as it is aimed at the younger generation.

I look at this game as a game for gamers and for children, the ideal combination would be a gamer with a child. The children can spend ages selecting the perfect style for their pet but the gamer wont be bored with the variety of challenges available. It even adds that addictive element of medals. Quite simple really, the better you do, the shinier medal you get. As a gamer playing this, I instinctively went for the gold every time but, and I’m ashamed to say, some of those challenges are really hard. A good example is the bubble challenge in which you need to fill your room with bubbles. Doesn’t sound that hard right? Well with that pesky little critter running wild in your living room, popping all the bubbles it makes the challenge so much harder. I even found myself swinging my arms at my pet in frustration, but then it looked at me with those monkey-cat eyes and all my anger was gone.

On to the actual gameplay. You sit there, in front of your TV and camera with your pet. Much like the EyeToy games your movements affect what happens on-screen. If you gently caress your hand over the pet it will start to pur as you are stoking it. If you wiggle your fingers on the floor, it will pounce at you and if you wiggle your fingers in the air, your pet will jump. You also have a magic card, which is recognised by the camera and can become a number of things. A trampoline and a bubble monkey for toys. The card is also used for cleaning your pet, feeding your pet and checking your pet’s health. The possibilities are endless. Now the pet’s party trick, its artistic talent. Your pet, after a few pretty bad attempts, will be able to mimic your real life drawings on-screen. It is pretty impressive! When you unlock the magic crayon, things get really insane. You draw a car on paper then can drive the card on-screen. This ability also stretches to planes and spaceships. There also little things like a camera, which lets you capture the most memorable moments with your pet in a photo of a short video clip. You can change your pet’s style pretty vigorously and reminds me of LittleBigPlanet.

For me, this game is all about the challenges. Do some challenges to unlock new clothing or toys. It is the medal system and unlockable that keep me interested in this game but I have one problem. Why does the professor have to interrupt you every so often to tell you that “EyePets can only have so much excitement for one day”? I mean, yes it is perfect for children when they should go to bed but they just want to “do one more challenge” but for a gamer, it gets quite annoying. Simple solution; quit then change the date on your PS3. Although quite annoying, it is the only way to play for more than 1 hour a day.

Overall this game is great! Worth picking up for £20 (Solus, £30 with the PlayStation Eye) especially if you have children who will love this game longer than I certainly will.

EyePet, la nueva y revolucionaria mascota virtual

EyePet es la nueva mascota virtual exclusiva de Sony, la cual será “sensible” a caricias, cosquillas, entre muchas otras acciones, además de que estará “consciente” del número de personas que están a su alrededor, las cuales lo podrán personalizar a un nivel avanzado.

Durante varios años niños, jóvenes e incluso adultos fueron adictos a la mascota virtual llamada Tamagotchi. Desde su aparición, a mediados de los 90´s, esta mascota se ganó el corazón y la simpatía de millones de personas a lo largo y ancho del mundo, siendo el continente asiático el fanático por excelencia de esta creación virtual.

El Tamagotchi es un aparato con forma de huevo del tamaño aproximado de la palma de una mano, que tiene una pantalla en blanco y negro en la cual “habita” la mascota virtual (mascota desde mi punto de vista, bastante deforme).

La intención del juego era que el “dueño” del Tamagotchi se responsabilizara de él y por consiguiente cumpliera con las obligaciones que todo dueño le debe a una mascota de verdad: darle de comer, jugar, limpiarle, acostarlo, etc. A cambio se tenía la satisfacción de ver crecer “feliz” al Tamagotchi e ir teniendo generaciones de estas mascotas.

Aunque el Tamagotchi desató gran furor la década pasada y a principios de ésta se lanzó una versión mucho más interactiva llamada “Connection”, el tiempo y la moda terminaron por ponerle punto final a la mascota virtual comercializada por Bandai.

Lo de hoy se llama EyePet, esta es la nueva mascota virtual que abarrotará las tiendas de videojuegos a partir del 2010, inicialmente se tenía planeada su comercialización para el mes de octubre del presente año, pero se decidió reservar el lanzamiento para el próximo con la intención de acompañar al producto con una fuerte campaña publicitaria.

EyePet es una mascota virtual exclusiva para PlayStation 3 que lleva a un nuevo plano la concepción de estos amigos virtuales. Se trata de una mascota que por las imágenes que se han publicado parece ser un “changuito”, el cual aparenta ser muy inteligente y completamente sensible a los movimientos de las personas, incluso se tiene la percepción de que nuestro amigo verdaderamente se mueve alrededor de nuestra mano e incluso es capaz de subirse a ella, además, se tiene la posibilidad de poder “tocar” a nuestro amigo virtual, darle juguetes e incluso lanzarle una pelota para que vaya tras ella.

El usuario interactuará con la mascota gracias a la PlayStation Eye (la cámara de la PlayStation 3) y a una tarjeta, la cual funge como puente entre la persona y la animación. Nuestro amigo virtual podrá: personalizarse (ropa, juguetes, etc), aprenderá lo que se le enseñe, tendrá emociones (si le acaricia o golpea reaccionará de distinta manera), entre muchas otras cosas.

Se dice que el juego podrá adquirirse en paquete o de manera individual, en el caso de optar por la primera opción se estaría comprando el juego y la PlayStation Eye, esta última tiene un precio de $599.00 (Game Planet) y un juego tiene un costo promedio de $800.00 entonces… ¿cuánto costará el paquete? Yo creo que no será nada económico, al menos en tiendas como Game Planet.

Awesome Eyepet Press Kit and First Impressions

Big shout out to Sony for sending me this rather awesome Eyepet press kit, complete with game and PS Eye camera. I had a lot of hands-on time with it today and it’s a neat little concept. The only problem I can really see is that you do need a bit of space to get the best out of the game, so bad news for students in small flats then.

It really is a joy to play, with the same cutesy tone as LittleBigPlanet and superb inclusion of PS Eye compatibility. Essentially, it’s a virtual pet game where, thanks to the camera, your little Eyepet runs around your living room floor and interacts with your movements. If this all sounds a bit too science-fiction, check out the official gameplay trailer after the jump

From washing and feeding your furry tyke to playing on a trampoline and enjoying a spot of ten-pin bowling, everything involves your actions and the camera picks up your motions incredibly well. For example, if you wiggle your fingers at the top of the screen, your Eyepet will jump up and try to grab them. Likewise, if you patter your fingers on the floor, he will try to pounce on them.

Had this game appeared on another platform, it would have had the same aesthetic quality that plagues the rakes of shovelware doing the rounds on Wii right now. But this is one lovely looking game. From the Eyepet’s fur physics to the way the TV steams up when you give your pet a shower, it really does throw a lot of tricks into the mix.

Make no mistake, this is going to be a Christmas hit as more and more PS3 consoles find their way into the homes of families. If anything, it’s incredibly telling; showing that Sony has finally found its feet and more importantly, a solid identidy for this generation, after lingering in identity-crisis limbo for so bloody long. Kudos chaps, you have just found your own license to print money. Well deserved too!

Este mes de octubre es uno de esos meses en los que, sin darnos cuenta, se acumulan una gran cantidad de lanzamientos importantes. Un mes en el que no hacemos otra cosa que darle vueltas a la cabeza para decidir qué juego elegir.

Es que es increíble, unos meses tanto, y otros tan poco. Como la vida misma:

Día 1: Fifa 10.
Día 2: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
Día 15: Uncharted 2, Brütal Legend.
Día 22: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010.
Día 29: M.A.G, EyePet.
Día 30: Tekken 6.

Genial el duelo de ventas que va a haber el día 15. Y, vosotros, ¿cuántos de esa lista tenéis pensado comprar?

Ο Will Wright μπορεί να ολοκλήρωσε τον κύκλο του στην ΕΑ (ή τουλάχιστον εντός αυτής) λίγους μήνες πριν, το ότι αποχωρίστηκε τα αγαπημένα του Sims όμως δεν σημαίνει και ότι βγήκε στη σύνταξη. Ο ταλαντούχος δημιουργός δουλεύει εντατικά αυτή την εποχή πάνω στην ανάπτυξη τριών νέων τίτλων για λογαριασμό της Stupid Fan Club, της νεοσύστατης εταιρείας του. Ο ίδιος δεν δίστασε να ανεβάσει ακόμα ψηλότερα τον αριθμό αυτό δηλώνοντας ότι μπορεί να φτάσουμε τα τέσσερα ή ακόμα και πέντε με το πρώτο εξ’ αυτών να κυκλοφορεί εντός του 2010 –ελπίζουμε όχι με χρονομέτρηση Spore.[next]

To EyePet ανήκει στην κατηγορία των παιχνιδιών που παίζονται χωρίς χειριστήριο. Οι κινήσεις και οι λειτουργίες γίνονται με το σώμα του παίκτη και η διασκέδαση που προσφέρει είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερη απ’ ότι στις συμβατικές κυκλοφορίες παιχνιδιών. Βάζοντας το δισκάκι στο PS3, εμφανίζεται ένα tutorial για το πώς πρέπει να συνδέσετε την κάμερα έτσι ώστε να αρχίσετε τις περιπέτειές σας.[next]
