Asi es les dejo el especial que salio con este capitulo 161, una historia sobre Erza de 40 Paginas, lo dejo en descarga y online ^^

Fairy Tail cuenta la historia de un joven mago llamado Natsu en la búsqueda de su maestro y padre adoptivo Igneel, un dragón. Por ello se unió a Fairy Tail, un gremio de magos que es famoso por los destrozos y daños que provocan en diversas ciudades (lo cual no debería ser así). El mundo de Fairy Tail gira alrededor de los magos (los cuales poco tienen que ver con la idea general del mago común) que realizan encargos a cambio de dinero, similar a un caza recompensas. Natsu conoce a Lucy, una guapa muchacha cuyo sueño era ingresar a un gremio de magos, específicamente, a Fairy Tail, lo cual consigue gracias a la ayuda de Natsu. De ahí en adelante, la historia sigue los movimientos de esta pareja de magos, que se ven envueltos en un sinnúmero de aventuras antes de conseguir la meta final de encontrar a Igneel.

Falls es jemanden interessiert: Universum Anime hat CANAAN für den deutschen Markt lizensiert, Realease soll wohl Mitte 2010 sein. Ich hätte mich mehr über Kara no Kyoukai gefreut…

Aoi Bungaku – Im Wald unter der erblühten Kirsche 2: Finale des Wahnsinns. War mir insgesamt zu abgedreht. Die Kopfnummer war ziemlich übel, die Auflösung dann zu plötzlich. Kokoro wird wohl eher nach meinem Geschmack sein, hoffe ich.
Fairy Tail 7: Virgo hat sich… verändert, im positiven Sinn. Dazu ein paar Standbildfights, erzwungene Erinnerungen und Lärm. Das Übliche halt.
Kobato 7: krudes gg-Timing, relativ öde Episode, wenn auch zum Ende hin besser; Domoto ist ganz interessant. Naja.
Seitokai no Ichizon 8: die erste Hälfte hat bei mir nen Lachkrampf ausgelösot, die 2. war auch nicht schlecht. Eindeutig eine der besten Episoden bisher.

Aoi Bungaku – Kokoro

Eine interessante Idee, die Geschichte aus 2 verschiedenen Perspektiven neu zu erzählen (die sogar am Ende der beiden Episoden nochmal umgekehrt werden) und dies durch den Farbstil widerzuspiegeln. Obatas Charakterdesign bewegt sich dieses Mal irgendwo zwischen Ai Yazawa und Toshihiro Kawamoto; Regie führte Shegeyuki Miya selbst, neben der eigenen Arbeit am Charakterdesign und sorgt beim Zuschauer dafür, sich nie wirklich auf eine Seite zu schlagen. Ich jedenfalls habe die 2 Episoden nicht als eine Handlung, sondern eher als Alternativen erachtet, denn hier wie da sind die Unterschiede teils doch etwas auffallend und einschneidend. 4,5 / 5

Hetalia Axis Powers
Episode 44

Liechtenstein kriegt von Schweiz einen Anfängerkurs in Selbstverteidigung (Sprich nicht mit Fremden!). Das Problem: Schweiz malt das Zeug viel zu süß, weshalb Liechtensteins Gedanken nun ganz woanders abhängen.
Japan und USA wollen einander besser kennenlernen. Erste Auffälligkeit für Japan: Amerikas Devil Food, das allein vom Aussehen her wohl schon tausenden den Geschmacksnerv genommen hat. Kanade bezieht derweil täglich Prügel von Kuba, weshalb er sich nun bei seinem großen Nachbarn beschweren will. Da der aber gerade mit einer Kettensäge beschäftigt ist, will Kanada wieder abziehen.
USAxKanada war sehr toll, LiechtensteinxSchweiz ging so. 3 / 5

Kimi ni Todoke
8. Self-Practice


Immer mehr (zugegebenermaßen nette) Gerüchte um Sadako machen an der Schule die Runde, weshalb sich die anderen Schüler ihr gegenüber sogar noch freundlicher verhalten, sprich sie versuchen, zum Lächeln zu kriegen, denn dann gehts Glück um! Mittlerweile erkennt sie (dank etwas Hilfe) dann auch, dass sie sich mit Hiroki und Endo angefreundet hat. Zur Feier des Tages überlegt man sich gleich noch ein paar Spitznamen, die neuen Anreden fallen Sawako dann aber doch etwas schwer. In nächster Zeit steht auch noch das Sportfest an, und da bedarf es einen Schüler fürs Kommitee. Da Pin keinen Bock auf ewiges suchen hat, muss kurzer Hand Kazehaya dran glauben. Nebenbei hat die Klasse ein paar Schüler zu wenig, weshalb einige doppelt antreten müssen (die Unfähigen dürfen höchst offiziell schwänzen)… Sawako kriegt den Fussball ab, auch wenn sie davon eigentlich keine Ahnung hat. Als Kurumi dann von Kazehayas Kommiteemitgliedschaft hört, sorgt sie dann auch noch für ihre eigene Nominierung (und natürlich den Sieg!). Zwischen 4. und 5. Stunde sthet Fussballtraining an, und Sawako entpuppt sich (wie eigentlich erwartet) als ziemliche Null. Vielleicht ists besser, wenn sie einfach nur lächelt und damit den Gegner verschreckt… Kazehaya gefallen dafür ihre Zöpfe und sie schaltet mal eben auf Rot und Durchzug. Nach dem Unterricht will Sawako weiterüben, ‘nen Ball kriegt sie aber nicht. Beim Kommitee trifft Kazehaya dann auch auf Kurumi, lässt sich aber von Sawako ablenken, die unten Blumen gießt und mit einem Stein das Fussballspielen übt. Schließlich bringt er ihr dann einen echten Ball vorbei und man übt gemeinsam.
Die kurze Instrumentalversion des Endings war wunderschön, die Episode sowieso. 4 / 5

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza
8. Ich machs dir…


Mika lädt Yuuto auf ihre Girls-Only-Schule ein, einfach so, um mit ihm anzugeben; dafür wird mal eben die Biografie runtergerasselt (inklusive erster Liebe, an die sich der Hauptdarsteller wohl selbst nicht mehr erinnern kann) und anschließender Fragerunde, nach einem kleinen Ausrutscher ist aber erstmal Sense. Dafür gibts nun einen Rundgang und langsam zeigt sich, dass in Mika doch mehr steht: sie ist die Vorsitzende der Schülervertretung (mittlerweile zum 2. Mal, und einen Fanclub gabs gratis dazu). Im Theaterclub wird Yuuto dann ungewollt runtergemacht und anschließend werfen sich Mikas Freundinnen ihm an den Hals, wenn auch nur, um ihr die Schamesröte ins Gesicht zu treiben. Schließlich kommt aber das Hauptthema zur Sprache: Mikas Theater-Drehbuch (qualitativ irgendwo zwischen Pretty Cure, Cutey Honey, Sailor Moon und Yatterman). Die Probeaufführung gefällt Yuuto, Eri hat dafür aber noch ein paar Verständnisprobleme mit ihrer männlichen Rolle, also soll Yuuto helfen. Bevors dann aber etwas zu schön wird, soll sich Mika beim stellvertretenden Direktor melden. Das dauert ziemlich lange, und als sie wieder zurückkommt, ist nur noch Yuuto anwesend. Plötzlich kommt ne Lehrerin rum, also verstecken, am besten natürlich im Schrank… gemeinsam. Und da sich niemand findet, wird der Raum abgeschlossen. Handy hilft auch nix, kein Empfang. Mika fällt schließlich über Yuuto her, da er ja überhaupt nicht reagiert. Haruki hat derweil mit Hazuki ein Bad genommen und Nelson, den Waschbären (wtf?) kennen gelernt. Den hat Hazuki dann auch gleich mit Alice und Nanami mitgenommen, um Mika abzuholen, und prompt stolpert man da über die Zwei. Aber aufgeben ist für Mika dann doch nicht drin…
Oh, Mann. Nicht so extrem ecchi wie erwartet, sondern noch im erträglichen Rahmen. Auch sonst ganz okay. Und wer denkt sich eigentlich diese Episodentitel aus?! 3,5 / 5

Nyan Koi
8. Der glühende private Sportlehrer


Die Zwillinge bringen den übergewichtigen Micchi (Shintarou Oohata, Chiba in Beck) vorbei, der ziemliche Probleme beim Vögel fangen hat. Also Zeit für Training! Kaede und Nagi tauchen ganz zufällig auf, letztere lädt ihn gleich mal zum Training im Club ein. Das wird zu einer waschechten Tortur, auch und gerade für die ebenfalls eingeladene Kanako, die sich am nächsten Tag vor lauter Schmerzen gleich freinimmt. Da Junpei vor lauter Training mit Kaede garkeine Zeit mehr für Micchi hat, klaut der einen BH von ihr und stopft ihn in Junpeis Tasche, den dieser ihr auch gleich prompt statt eines frisch gewaschenen Taschentuchs gibt, inklusive der üblichen Rot-werd-Szene in der Einkaufsmeile. Wenigstens entshculdigt sich Micchi dann aber bei Junpei und nun gibts endloses Training und schnell nimmt der Kater ab und wird wieselflink. Ärger kriegt Junpei von Nagi und Kanade dann aber doch, als sie von dem “Unfall” hören. Haruhiko klärts aber dann auf, hat er doch gesehen, wie Micchi den BH geklaut hat.
Ich habe gelacht, habe mich an den Animationen erfreut, ergo Spaß gehabt. Was will man mehr? 4 / 5

6. Cell


Yuta Tsuda (Miyu Irino, Saji in Gundam 00) ist ein Fall von Kontrollsucht, die sich in seinem Handy manifestiert hat. Bei Irabu, dem handylosen, gibts erstmal eine Vitaminsprite von Mayumi (Yutas Tier ist ein Specht), die selbst auch ohne Mobilfunk unterwegs ist, was Yuta natürlich wundert. Später trifft er sich noch mit seinen Freunden im Cafe und sorgt bei einer der Bedienungen mit der Nachfrage nach ihrer Nummer dafür, dass sie einem Büroangestellten, Kaffee über die Klamotten schüttet. Die Nummer kriegt er aber trotzdem. Ein paar Tage später nimmt ihm sein Lehrer das Handy weg, woraufhin er vor Panik aus dem Unterricht flüchtet und mit seiner Mutter ein neues kauft. Dann textet er weiter mit Yuri und will für die Weihnachtsparty seiner Freunde noch ein paar CDs besorgen, die auch prompt mit aussuchen. Auf der Straße steht ‘ne Menschenmasse, Yuri wurde wohl angegriffen. Yuta will hin, abert natürlich fällt ihms Handy runter und der Kontrollvelrust bewahrt ihn mal wieder vor Einmischung. Irabu hat sich nun mehrer Handys zugelegt und textet Yuta wie wild zu, der aber nicht drauf reagiert. Das mit der Weihnachtsparty klappt aber dann irgendwie doch nicht, also klappert er sämtliche Karaokebars in Shibuya (25 an der Zahl, ergo ziemlich wenig) ab und findet sie schließlich. Er liefert noch schnell die CDs ab und zischt dann davon. Schließlich leert er seine rund 300 Einbträge lange Adressliste und kriegt von Irabu prompt ne Einladung zur Party im Krankenhaus von Mayumi, die nun doch ein Handy hat.
Sehr schöne Episode, gute Auflösung. 4 / 5

Czas na dwa odcinki Fairy Tail. Przepraszam, że dopiero dziś. Wszystko wyjaśnię w następnej notce. Teraz przejdźmy do samego anime.

Odc.5

Lucy zastanawia się nad tym, jaką pracę podjąć. Gildia funkcjonuje bez swojego mistrza, który znajduje się na spotkaniu Mistrzów Gildii. Całą hierarchię świata magicznego przedstawia Mirajane. Jak zwykle Natsu i Gray kłócą się niczym dzieci. Wszystko do momentu,  kiedy próg przekracza Erza, wzbudzająca postrach wśród wszystkich członków magicznego stowarzyszenia.
Erza prosi Natsu i Gray’a o pomoc w kolejnej misji, razem z nimi wybiera się Lucy. Mag ognia prosi Erzę o walkę po zakończonej wyprawie.
Towarzysze podróżują pociągiem, oczywiście Natsu źle znosi jazdę, dlatego nic z niej nie pamięta. Reszta rozmawia o zadaniu. Ich przeciwnikami są magowie z ciemnej gildii – Einsweld, wraz z ich przywódcą, bogiem śmierci, Eligorem. Wszystko związane jest z tajemniczą Lullaby.
Gdy docierają do celu, okazuje się, że Natsu został w pociągu. Tam spotyka maga z gildii, z którą walczą. Oczywiście nie wie, jak ważne jest to spotkanie.
Przyjaciele za sprawą Erzy są już razem, a dzięki Lucy okazuje się, że Lullaby, to kołysanka, która ma moc masowego rażenia…

Odc.6

Makarov dowiaduje się, że Natsu, Erza oraz Gray stworzyli drużynę, nie jest z tego powodu zadowolony. Tymczasem grupa podąża za magami z Einsweld. Docierają do miasta, w którym stacja kolejowa została opanowana przez wrogą gildię. Magowie z Fairy Tail przypuszczają, że Eligor i jego towarzysze chcą nadać kołysankę przez głośniki, które znajdują się na stacji. Za wszelką cenę nie chcą do tego dopuścić. Erza i Lucy zostają walczyć z sługami Eligora, a za nim podążają Natsu i Gray.
Erza pokazuje swoje moce przyzywania broni. Dodatkowo wybija w pień prawie całą gildię, z małą pomocą Lucy i Kraba.
Natsu i Gray nie chcą ze sobą współpracować, dlatego rozdzielają się i sami idą na poszukiwanie Eligora.
Gray walczy z wysłannikiem boga śmierci i udaje mu się dowiedzieć, że prawdziwym celem Einsweld jest zjazd Mistrzów Gildii. To właśnie tam, chcą zagrać kołysankę śmierci.
Stacja, gdzie znajdują się towarzysze zostaje otoczona przez wietrzny mur, którego przekroczenie grozi śmiercią…

Myśli i wnioski:

Wracamy do wydarzeń z mangi. Wszystko ładnie zostało przedstawione.  Ale zacznijmy po kolei.

Pojawiła się już Erza. Nie sposób jej nie lubić, od razu zdobyła moją sympatię, chodzi mi o mangę, gdzie po raz pierwszy ją ujrzałam.  Jest taką kobietą, jaką czasami chciałabym być. Silną, wzbudzającą respekt, a nawet postrach i do tego ładną. Myślicie pewnie, że jestem dziwna^^. Ale czasami mam takie myślenie, że chciałabym być taką niezależną babką. Taką jak Erza xD Oczywiście to tylko czasami, bo to zależy od mojego nastroju i poglądu na daną sprawę. Ale skończmy o mnie xD
Podoba mi się jak Erza robi porządek w gildii. O ile Makarov to taki przyjazny dziadek, to Erza trzyma wszystkich mocną ręką. Nawet Natsu i Gray udają przed nią “przyjaciół”. Wychodzi to naprawdę komicznie xD

A co do Natsu i Gray’a to rozwaliła mnie ich kłótnia w piątym odcinku. Epitety jakimi siebie obdarzali były naprawdę wyszukane. Najbardziej zapamiętałam ten, który Natsu skierował w stronę Gray’a “porno-gwiazda” xD Taką gwiazdę jak najbardziej chcę. Dobra, cicho *perw mode on*.
Ale wracając do nich. To tak naprawdę się lubią i zależy im na sobie. Oczywiście mają przeciwne zdolności, które z natury się wykluczają, ale są członkami jednej gildii i to już ich automatycznie spaja. Tak naprawdę zależy im na sobie i żaden nie chce, aby ten drugi zginął. Naprawdę ciekawa relacja.

Co zauważyłam już wcześniej, a zapomniałam napisać, często połowy rzeczy nie napiszę,  to to, że w odcinkach wykorzystywane są dość znane motywy muzyczne. Na przykład ostatnio leciał sobie kankan, kiedyś wcześniej też coś nam wszystkim znanego, ale już nie pamiętam co. Fajna sprawa ^^.

Nadal czekam na pełne wersje op & end, ale nie ma :c Szkoda, bo to naprawdę fajne utwory, ciekawe ile trzeba jeszcze czekać. Bo ja chcę już, już ^^

Co zaś się tyczy samych odcinków i fabuły, to pewnie sprawiało by mi większą frajdę pisanie o nich, jakbym nie znała już wydarzeń, tak to znam mangę i nie wiem, co powiedzieć, aby nie wyprzedzać niczego. Z jednej strony znajomość mangi pomaga, a z drugiej szkodzi. Nigdy nie ma odpowiednio ;3 Ale nie narzekam, manga naprawdę mi się podoba, choć ostatnio nie miałam czasu czytać, ale może teraz, kiedy jestem chora. Choć nie wiem czy zostanę w domu na dłużej czy tylko przez weekend się będę kurować. To się wszystko okarze.

Teraz zostawiam Was ze screen’ami i zabieram się do pisania drugiej notki.

Jeśli myślicie, że dziwniejszej postaci od niego nie będzie... mylicie się

Jest wesoło, jest akcja, jest również transformacja… czego więcej trzeba?

Odcinek rozpoczyna się sceną z Makarovem na lokalnym zebraniu członków gildii. Poza przedstawieniem nam kilku osobliwych mistrzów gildii widzimy też jak otrzymuje on list od Mirajane i jego reakcję na wieść, że Erza, Natsu i Grey stworzyli drużynę. Tymczasem wspomniana trójka dogania Eisenwald, który przejął stację kolejową. W środku czeka na nich cała gildia Eisenwaldu oraz ich przywódca Eligor, który po chwili zabaw w gry słowne z bohaterami ucieka by wykonać plan. Erza karze Natsu i Grey’owi ruszać za nim a ona z Lucy zajmą się w tym czasie resztą ludzi z Eisenwaldu. Dwaj magowie Eisenwaldu ruszają za Natsu i Grey’em. Erza za pomocą swojej magii (przyzywanie broni na sposób podobny to duchów Lucy tylko sporo szybciej) sieje spustoszenie w szeregach Eisenwaldu. Lucy odrobinę jej w tym pomaga przy pomocy wezwanego Raka. Widząc jednak, że idzie im zbyt wolno Erza postanawia użyć magii która zmienia nie tylko broń ale i zbroję (i tak oto mamy transformacje niczym rodem z anime gatunku Mahou Shoujo). Odziana w nową zbroję Erza pozbywa się prawie wszystkich przeciwników za 1 atakiem. Ostatni przeciwnik ucieka w końcu pojmując kim jest Erza. Ona z kolei karze Lucy za nim biegnąć – może doprowadzi ją do Eligora – i gdy ta opuszcza salę klęka na podłodze ze zmęczenia i przyznaje, że chyba jednak zmarnowała zbyt dużo magii na zasilanie pojazdu którym tu przybyli.

Ona chyba nie mówi o sobie prawda?

Grey i Natsu rozdzielają się. Ten pierwszy napotyka przeciwnika, z którego po średnio emocjonującej walce udaje mu się poznać prawdziwy plan Eligora. Erza przez megafon ogłasza zagrożenie tłumowi zgromadzonemu przed stacją ale szybko okazuje się, że było to zbędne a Eligorowi udaje się ją uwięzić wraz z resztą bohaterów w stacji kolejowej samemu udając się na zebranie mistrzów gildii by “odpłacić im za odebranie za wykluczenie z kręgu legalnych gildii”. Natsu biegnie korytarzem ścigany przez swojego przeciwnika z ukrycia, Grey po zamrożeniu swojego przeciwnika rusza z postanowienie nie dopuszczenia do tego by plan Eisenwaldu się powiódł, Erza zastanawia się co dalej a Lucy i Happy szukają grubego członka Eisenwaldu bojąc się, że jeśli go nie znajdą to Erza skręci im karki. Poza tym… emmm… ano… etto… to już niestety wszystko w tym odcinku. CDN.

What does the abovementioned animes have in common? For starters, they did not meet my expectations. Certainly there are some who find them interesting but I for one find them rather bland and I’m just not into it like I am into Darker Than Black, Gundam 00 (my current obsession), Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, just to name a few.

Letter Bees are responsible in delivering letters (of any form) safely to their intended destinations regardless of their location. Even if there are possible dangers, Letter Bees still have to perform their duty. As such, the stamps (for letter bees’ service) is expensive and is not affordable. Gauche Suede is one such letter bee. In order to have a better life for his sister, Sylvette he aims to be the best among the letter bees and getting promoted to the “head bee”.

Lag Seeing was only a kid of not more than 12 (I think) when Gauche found him as a letter to be delivered. Apparently his mother has been kidnapped and he is to be delivered to his aunt’s place at another province. Gauche did as his duty dictated and he is never heard again (as of episode 6). Fast forward a couple of years, Lag is all grown-up in his teens aspiring to be a letter bee just as Gauche with the goal of finding his missing mother (and possibly Gauche?) in mind.

My Thoughts: I thought that it is rather dull. Plot-wise, it does look interesting at first glance but after watching a couple of episodes, it still doesn’t interest me much.

Kobato

As you probably know, Kobato is basically a human-like girl with unknown origins going around healing people’s wounded feelings in order to fill the mysterious bottle so as her wish to go to this particular place fulfilled. Accompanying her in her mission is Ioryogi, a talking blue-coloured stuffed toy. Along the way, she met Fujimoto who is annoyed with her naivety.

My thoughts: Kobato aka Dobato is annoying though at some point she is indeed likeable. Major annoyance about her – her naivety. Still following the series but I feel that Kobato is pale in comparison with Tsubasa and xxxHolic (which are my favourite CLAMP works). However, I’m quite certain that I’ll see it till the end though I wouldn’t give a second look after that.

Fairy Tail

Set in a wizarding land, this series follows the tale of Lucy and Natsu and their adventures as part of the Fairy Tail Guild.

My thoughts: I’ve read reviews that says the anime version is not as good as its manga counterpart. If you ask me, I wouldn’t know for sure as I have yet to read the manga. Had wanted to read it but seeing as it’s now on its 17th volume I feel kinda lazy to start reading it and now that the anime adaptation is out, I might just toss the idea of reading the manga completely. Speaking of the anime adaptation, so far so good I guess? Interesting characters and there are plenty of humours throughout the series (I especially like Gray who always go commando randomly) to keep me entertained.

P.S.: Is it me or does Loki kinda looks like Ichigo from Bleach with his orange hair?

Miracle Train

The bishounen characters of this anime are basically characterizations of Japan’s Oedo train line. Random facts about Japan’s infamous Oedo train line popped up every now and then.

My thoughts: Can this be considered as a reverse harem? There may be bishounens in it but I still find it dull at times. Come on, only selected female passengers get to board a train where there are no one else around but the five bishounens who represent Oedo line? What’s more, these bishounens will help in solving the selected passenger’s woes? Oh well…I’ll give this another go since I’m fond of bishounens.

In regards to this year’s fall anime, my “main course” has to be Darker Than Black 2 and Kimi ni Todoke while the ones mentioned above are what I would considered as side dishes or dessert, if you will. Bad metaphor, I know!

P.S.: Winter is approaching (my country doesn’t have four seasons though, it’s sunny all year long!) and I have already set my eyes on certain animes scheduled to be aired sometime around January next year.

Fairy Tail 7, another manga to anima adaption. As I watched couple days old episode 7, I began to question many things.

Well, considering it’s 20-25ish minute per episode, I am not complaining about the speed.

Well, whenever scenes like these comes up, its pretty cheesy but heck…who am I to complain.

Okay, enough with joke stuffs. The episode 7 wasn’t bad but it wasn’t sparkling good either. But Fairy Tail overall has been a huge disappointment for me.  You might say, it’s because the manga itself is pretty damn boring for first half so it’s not the anime’s fault for being boing.

Those with power can wipe the past clean, and can rule the future.

I want to write something nice about Fairy Tail. I’ll try to be brief. The original plan was to include it in my Survival of the Fittest, Fall 2009 series, but I was sloppy whilst going through my Downloads folder to remember it, since I don’t store the files as I do with other series. I don’t want to make the same mistake I made with Naruto and One Piece, so I delete them as I watch.

While I’m on the subject of One Piece, I guess I don’t want to dabble in all that crap about Mashima copying Oda’s art style, but I see some resemblance in how they got me to approach them. While I enjoy One Piece’s battle scenes tremendously, I can proudly say that what I’m primarily interested in are its whacky characters. When I first started watching the anime, I was too quick in marathoning it, so I can’t say for sure when I got emotionally attached to members of the Straw Hat crew, and the rest of the cast for that matter, but I know I cried my eyes out at the fourth episode already. Fairy Tail is that much more effective in this, because not only was I able to connect with Lucy or Natsu in as early as the third episode, I got to meet a good part of the guild’s members by the fifth episode. Lucy, Natsu, Lucky, Makarov, Gray, Erza – this may only be the main cast, but it’s got more relatable characters already than what Luffy managed to scrape up by the end of the Alabasta arc. Each character managed to define itself well in a very short amount of time, and I’m not exactly sure what component of the show is responsible for it. Was it the cheap slapstick? Dynamic, yet effective comedy for the Western weeaboo? Was it Lucky? I hope it’s Lucky.

I don’t believe Fairy Tail has any other choice but to build on character development and fan interaction though. The few battle scenes we’ve seen were poorly executed, and the parts that were awesome were transformation sequences. So it’s not a matter of “Ohh, look at the way Erza managed to wipe those tards out,” it’s more like “Ohh, look at Erza, her armor is so cool.” で, just by looking at the resident Pokemon Master–Lucy– the series spends more time on -ebi jokes than it does on her engaging in fights. Sweat and blood is important to us shounen jumpers, I agree, but should it devolve into a modern Bleach-esque desperation to stay on top of the Weekly Shounen Jump ranking, it’s over for this one.

Just for your information, I haven’t read the manga (I don’t usually read any manga), but I won’t be too upset even if you do manage to spoil the story for me – it’s not an important element this time, not at all! Mind you, I’m typically a Spoiler Nazi. I declare this post a Spoilers Allowed™ section of the blog.
