Boy oh boy, how it truly saddens me to see the state that Hip hop music is in today. I remember the

Boy oh boy, how it truly saddens me to see the state that Hip hop music is in today. I remember the days when you could listen to a rap song and actually learn something useful. Life lessons were taught and true experiences were shared with millions around the world who listened to what an artist had to say. But now, hip hop has changed for the worst. Record companies dare not put out or even sign an artist if they do not have a “gimmick” that will make their record sell. Real artists who actually have true stories to tell are being ignored and thrown away like garbage. The radio and tv are flooded with hip hop songs that portay self-gratification, money, lust and disrespect for women, or outrageous dance moves that make people look stupid while doing it in the club.

I will not bash any artists in this blog but i will have to acknowledge them as examples of this. Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy are the main artists who lead this ugly transformation of hip hop. The blame should not be placed solely on them as other rappers contributed to this also, but their amount of fame from this type of music shows that they have no care for hip hop as a true art form. Even though we see these artists leading this disasterous genre of music, we must remember that the record companies deserve the full blame. They became greedy and implemented any stupid gimmick which would make rappers sell more records. They have destroyed the art form of hip hop all because they want more money. Tupac saved lives with his music because he described the struggle that most people go through. He presented the problem to the public through his music which made people aware of how destructive they were actually living. Now no artist may ever be able to reach an audience like Tupac did all because of the record companies being greedy. Instead of having music that may get people through tough situations, we now have music where rappers talk about how much money and wealth they have and how they throw it up in the club every night(which is absolutely false). They know that they dont waste their money like that so why are they telling us to do it! “It aint trickin’if ya got it”? Well sorry bruh i aint got it!

Artists like Jay-Z are known for their wealth but they actually talked about the hustle and struggle towards getting that wealth. Jay-Z describes his process and journey towards success which motivates millions of people and this may be the reason why he is one of the greatest rappers in hip hop history. Nas is a true lyricist that uses words to truly describe dark situations of life while shedding some light on these dark situations. He is known for spitting true knowledge and i have learned a whole lot just from listening to his music. These are the artists that allow you to come away with something valuable after listening to their music. When listening to the artists today you may actually lose some of the common sense you had before! I just wanted to express my feelings about this situation today and im sure there are others out there that feel the same way i do. I suggest that you make a blog, let it all out, and show the world that we all are tired of this crappy hip hop and want to see true artists exposed to the world!
Thanks for reading, and be sure to check out more of my posts.
