Technically, I was going to say, “last night” but truthfully, it was this early morning around 3:24am… Where I found myself browsing Neiman Marcus online catalog looking at Gucci for Men & Women. LOL. Like I said before I just have the balls to wear woman/man’s clothing. Everything is unisex in my eyes. LOL! These are the two I fell in love with from Gucci Fall Winter Runway… I just thought about, “go bold or go home!”

As the leaves turn colors and the season’s transition, so do our wardrobes. They cycle from the back of our closet to the front. Sweaters are brought out of storage. The perfect pair of boots are in high demand. And scarves and coats are added to the mix. But those aren’t the only items that need to be updated. Accessories, especially earrings, play a big part in our wardrobes. If you have pierced ears, it’s pretty easy to find chic styles that fit your preference and style. But for those of us who rely on clip earrings to make our mark, sometimes it’s not so easy.

It’s nice to know that designers and retailers (both online and off) are finally starting to cater to the clip earring crowd. Today, there are more options to choose from than ever before. And finally, wearing clip on earrings is no longer considered a fashion crutch, but instead is celebrated along with all of the other fabulous accessories of the season.

For fall and winter, there are several trends for clip earring styles. Color is big. Whether its earth tones like garnet colored beads or green agate stones, these make the perfect compliment to the natural fibers in fabrics like wool and cashmere. Gold clip earrings are another hit this season, and because they pair well with many selections from your wardrobe, you can be sure that they’re an investment that you’ll get your use out of. Even if you don’t go for solid gold clip on earrings, try gold plated or gold tone to achieve the same look for less.

If you’re wondering what shapes are in, consider drop earrings at the top of the clip on earring list. Teardrops, simple spheres and chandeliers are all appropriate. Clip on hoop earrings are also making a comeback, and they great with most anything. So what are you waiting for? Get shopping!

One of the fun parts of my job is getting to taste new things. Last week, we headed to Horton Winery with our friends Dave and MJ for their 20th anniversary event, which included a cellar tasting and tour. They have some lovely whites, and are known for their Viogner.

The larget vineyard in VA, Horton makes over 50 wines, and they were almost all available for tasting. Needless to say, I didn’t go through them all. Having been told by reliable sources (read: Dave and MJ) that their whites were far better than their reds, I opted to stick mostly to those. Their Viogner was nice, and their sparkling Viogner was quite good. Their chocolate dessert wine was good, as was their blackberry.

Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to use their dessert wines in a chocolate cake soon, because I think the raspberry would be an amazing addition.

The stellar, show-stopping, takes-your-breath-away, statement necklace from Stella & Dot, the Garden Party Necklace, was featured in the October 2009 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine with hottie Megan Fox on the cover.
