Five high-ranking Chinese officials have been indicted in Spain for genocide and torture of Falun Gong practitioners.

As reported by The Epoch Times online and in Monday’s print edition, the five officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) include Jiang Zemin, the former top man in the Party, and Luo Gan, head of the notorious 610 Office, a nationwide secret police task force that has led the violent campaign against Falun Gong.

Additional details were announced Wednesday in a press release by the Falun Dafa Information Center, on behalf of the Human Rights Law Foundation (HRLF), which is heading the legal effort in Spain. Carlos Iglesias is the HRLF attorney on the case in Spain.

“When one carries out the crime of genocide or torture, it is a crime against the international community as a whole and not only against Chinese citizens,” Iglesias said.

For committing the crime of genocide, the defendants face imprisonment for up to 20 years and may be economically liable to the victims for damages. Based on the magnitude of the crimes committed by the defendants, they are likely to face the maximum 20-year penalty for their crimes.

According to the press release, the defendants have 4-6 weeks to reply and could subsequently face extradition if they travel to a country that has an extradition treaty with Spain. The decision was taken under the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows domestic courts to hear cases of genocide and crimes against humanity regardless of where they occur.

Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline that was practiced by 100 million people in China before it was banned in July 1999 by the CCP. It was initially supported by the CCP as promoting health and social harmony, but was suddenly declared illegal and subsequently violently persecuted, largely on the decision of Jiang Zemin, one of the defendants in the case in Spain.

The court also took a historic step in being the first to legally recognize the persecution against Falun Gong as amounting to genocide.

NEW YORK – In an unprecedented decision, a Spanish judge has indicted five high-ranking Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials for their role in crimes of torture and genocide committed against Falun Gong practitioners. Among the defendants is former CCP head Jiang Zemin, widely acknowledged as the chief instigator of the campaign to “eradicate” the spiritual practice.

Following a two-year investigation, Spanish National Court Judge Ismael Moreno last week notified attorney Carlos Iglesias of the Human Rights Law Foundation (HRLF) that the court had granted a petition to indict the defendants on charges of torture and genocide. According to the notice, for committing the crime of genocide, the defendants face imprisonment for up to 20 years and may be economically liable to the victims for damages.

The Judge’s notification also stated that the court had granted a petition to send rogatory letters (letter of request) to the five defendants in China with questions relating to each individual’s involvement in the persecution of Falun Gong. The decisions followed a series of submissions to the court by Iglesias and other HRLF staff.

The defendants have 4-6 weeks to reply and could subsequently face extradition if they travel to a country that has an extradition treaty with Spain. The decision was taken under the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows domestic courts to hear cases of genocide and crimes against humanity regardless of where they occur.

“This historic decision by a Spanish judge means that Chinese Communist Party leaders responsible for brutal crimes are now one step closer to being brought to justice,” said Iglesias. “When one carries out the crime of genocide or torture, it is a crime against the international community as a whole and not only against Chinese citizens. Spain is emerging as a defender of human rights and universal justice.”

Among the accused are former CCP leader Jiang Zemin, widely acknowledged as the primary instigator of the campaign launched in 1999 to “eradicate” Falun Gong. Also facing charges is Luo Gan, who oversaw the 610 Office, a nationwide secret police task force that has led the violent campaign. Chinese lawyers have compared the 6-10 Office to Nazi Germany’s Gestapo in its brutality and extra-legal authority.

The other three accused are Bo Xilai, current Party Secretary for Chongqing and former Minister of Commerce; Jia Qinglin, the fourth-highest member of the Party hierarchy; and Wu Guanzheng, head of an internal Party disciplinary committee. The charges against them are based on their proactive advancement of the persecution against Falun Gong when they served as top officials in Liaoning, Beijing, and Shandong respectively. In a Pulitzer prize-winning article, The Wall Street Journal’s Ian Johnson describes how Wu imposed fines on his subordinates if they did not sufficiently crackdown on Falun Gong, leading officials to torture local residents, in some cases, to death. Other evidence considered by the judge during his investigation included written testimonies from fifteen Falun Gong practitioners and oral testimonies from seven practitioners, including torture victims and relatives of individuals who had been killed in Chinese custody. The judge also relied on reports by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the U.N. Human Rights Commission to reach his decision, HRLF attorney Iglesias said.

Spain Sides With Morality Against China, Others Cower in Shame

1. Within a 50-mile radius of central Beijing, hundreds of innocent Falun Gong practitioners are being held and tortured in detention centers, forced labor camps, and prison camps.
2. During Obama’s 3-day trip, an estimated 72 Falun Gong practitioners will be abducted by security forces, 15 will be sent to a forced labor or prison camp for the next 1 to 18 years, and at least one will likely be tortured to death.
3. Several Communist Party officials Obama may meet are being investigated for egregious human rights violations, including torture and genocide.
4. Tiananmen Square, a likely destination during Obama’s sightseeing tour, has been the scene of countless Chinese citizens being pummeled, beaten, and shoved into police vans by security forces for peacefully protesting against the persecution of Falun Gong. Many died after being detained there.
5. At least 97 Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing and 414 from the surrounding Hebei province have been killed due to persecution over the past decade.
6. In 1999, roughly 1 out of every 15 Chinese practiced Falun Gong. Thus, many of the people President Obama meets or sees walking down the street have a friend, relative, or colleague who has been victimized by the last decade of persecution.
7. Whatever Obama hears—or doesn’t hear—from Party officials about Falun Gong will be profoundly shaped by propaganda and censorship.
8. Despite Party leaders rhetorical commitment to the “rule of law,” judges, prosecutors, and security agents are routinely manipulated by Party officials into carrying out illegal abductions, detentions, “re-education,” torture, and murder.
9. Public interest lawyers who have represented Falun Gong practitioners have been harassed, disbarred, and tortured.
10. In Beijing and across China, Falun Gong practitioners and their supporters are engaging in a tireless grassroots effort to stop the violence.

Just prior to Mr. Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper leaving for their Asian tour, the Chinese Communist Party maligned His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet once again.

The official Obama administration response to this rudeness was to say absolutely nada.

In relentless search of business opportunities with the Communists, the two North American leaders say nothing about human rights abuses by the Communist Party of China of Tibetan Buddhists, Chinese Roman Catholics, various other Chinese Christians, and Chinese Falun Gong.

Fendel wrote an article in 2008 entitled ‘Rabbi: Jews Must Lead Condemnation of China’ bemoaning state persecution of the Falun Gong in China. However, when Chinese authorities invited Yad L’Achim to advise them on fighting religious minorities, Fendel wrote an article entitled ‘Yad L’Achim advises Chinese on Cult Fighting’, in which he quoted extensively from Yad L’Achim honchos without any critical comment.

Fendel’s latest column seems to double up as PR for Yad L’Achim, which is disappointing as a good journalist should always check his facts. To help Mr Fendel on his way to becoming a competent practioner, we’re posting this email update from Beit Hallel.

Please pray with us in this crucial time as we just learned from the media and internet that Yad Le-Achim (an anti messianic organization that opposes freedom of religion and persecutes Messianic believers in Israel) has filed a police complaint against us claiming, we broke the law by holding a “missionary event for teenagers”.

Missionary Event for Teenagers in Ashdod

A missionary seminar was held for teenagers in Ashdod ten days ago, teaching them how to “witness” to their friends – in violation of Israeli law.

“If you want to change the world for Jesus, this meeting is for you,” states the invitation to the seminar, which reached the Yad L’Achim missionary organization.

At the seminar itself, close to 200 teenagers received instruction on how to approach and persuade youngsters their age to believe in Jesus as the Messiah. The event was held on Thursday, Oct. 22, and included various musical performances. It was organized by the local Beth Hillel congregation; Yad L’Achim said it is not known if this Beth Hillel is affiliated with other Messianic congregations of the same name around the world.

“Thanks to public apathy,” says Yad L’Achim Chairman Rabbi Shalom Dov Lifshitz, “the missionaries continue to act as they please, including breaking the law with abandon.”

Israeli law forbids missionary activity amidst minors. It also forbids offering money or other benefits as an enticement to change one’s religion, but permits all other missionary activity.

The invitation further states, “There will be study sessions in which you will be able to discover how to ‘witness’ in a creative manner to those of your own age in school.”

Complaint Filed With Police
Yad L’Achim says it has filed police complaints against the organizers for violating the law against missionary activity with minors. “Not all of those who participated in the seminar are already Jesus-believers,” a Yad L’Achim staffer told Israel National News, “and attempting to convince them is certainly illegal. In addition, having youths ‘witness’ to other youths in this manner is also illegal.”
“The missionaries continue to do whatever they can to reach their destructive objective of converting as many Jews as possible,” Rabbi Lifshitz said, “even if it involves breaking the law that forbids just such activities.”

What Really Took Place

About a month ago we hosted a youth conference to encourage young and teenage believers [in Yeshua] not to be afraid to share about their faith, to speak boldly about their principals and beliefs. We spoke to them about how to be a light in their school, reason for that is that most of our teenage believers are in fact a small minority in their schools.

Usually in Ashdod there are only one or two believers in the whole school, as it is the case with my children, Sason (16) and Moriel (13), who are the only two believers in their school.

Conference was a big success, our teenage believers were truly encouraged and to our surprise despite the fact that the conference was organized for believers, we even saw unbelievers who came with their believing friends.

There’s was a lot of joy, excitement, encouragement, our youth band lead everybody in worship and it was a great night for God’s Word that came forth in power.

Now because our youth used Facebook to post an open invitation to this youth night, and some unbelievers showed up, this is something Yad Le-Achim want to use against us, claiming we held a missionary training seminar on how to evangelize Jewish youth in schools.

According to Israeli law an adult cannot evangelize a minor without their parents consent, nor can an adult train another minor how to evangelize other minors.

Their claim is quite ridiculous since we simply held a youth conference night, where the goal was to edify and encourage our teenage believers. We couldn’t turn anybody away simply because they weren’t believers or because they didn’t have their parents written consent to be there.

Please pray with us for these claims to result to nothing and the case dropped by the police. We really appreciate your prayer support at a time like this; it enables us to continue going forth and carrying the Word of God to His people.

On December 16, 2006, at about four o’clock before dawn, members of the Zhou family were suddenly woken up by thrill cries of “help” at Room 2, Unit 1, Building 12, No. 57 Residential Area, Hanxing Road, Kaifeng City of Henan Province. Through the burglar-proof door, Mr. Zhou saw some one was madly striking another one lying on the ground of the dim corridor with something like a club. Mr. Zhou ringed the 110 Police Call immediately. After the investigation the police revealed: the victim was a female, already dead; her body lying across the door at Room 1, Unit 1 of the Building 12; beside the body were a kitchen knife and a steel tube of 64-cm-long; and behind the body, bloodstain stretched from the bedroom to corridor. Head of the deceased was fully covered by blood, with several knife injuries on it. The back and two legs of the deceased were full of blunt-force injuries.

According to police source, the victim named Guo Jiuju, female, 60 years old, was a retiree from Henan No.1 Textile Mill. The suspect named Li Yixing, male, Han nationality, 61 years old, also retired from Henan No. 1 Textile Mill, was the victim’s husband. Li began to practice Falun Gong in the early 1995, and soon was obsessed by it. In February 2001, Li Yixing was sentenced to two years “reeducate-through-labor” because he had gone to Beijing and stirred up troubles. After committed the killing, Li Yixing did not run away from the spot that day.

According to colleagues, Li Yixing was actually an open-minded man before practicing Falun Gong. He had many hobbies originally, such as singing Henan Opera, playing Chinese chess and practicing calligraphy – his calligraphy work was once awarded a prize and he was asked to teach children to write with a brush-pen at their Residential Area. After practicing Falun Gong, Li became a man of few words and lived in solitude. He seldom attended the opera fans’ parties or chess fans’ meetings which he used to be very fond of. And he had no contact or dealings with other people except his Gong mates. Li Daming was Li Yixing’s son. He said his father totally gave up hobbies after practicing Falun Gong; and reading Zhuan Falun became Li Yixing’s only hobby, and practicing Falun Gong was his sole exercise.

As to why Li Yixing killed his wife, let’s see what he has said in the interrogation record.

Policeman: Why did you kill your wife?

Li Yixing: I thought my wife had been attached by the demon, and she was going out to find some people and do me harm.

P: But how come you discovered that your wife was possessed by the demon?

Li: I have practiced Falun Gong for years, and I am attached by Sun Wukong the Great Monkey King, so I could see clearly that my wife was a demon.

Judging from Li’s confession, it was obvious that Li Yixing thought he had already cultivated into a very high level and was attached by the Great Monkey King. So he could find out which one was attached by “a demon.” Li firmly believed that his wife had become a demon that tried to kill him, so he killed his wife to avoid being killed. Actually, Li Hongzhi provided his followers with a lot of demon elimination descriptions in his book Zhuan Falun and other scriptures. Poisoned by Master’s theory, Li Yixing cruelly killed his wife.

Perhaps Guo Jiuju was still perplexed in the nether world by a riddle – why her husband laid murderous hands on her for such a ridiculous reason. And her husband, the killer, was punished by law: Li Yixing was condemned to death with a two-year reprieve by Kaifeng Intermediate People’s Court on the charge of premeditated murder.

Taipei Times reported on October 13, 2009, Taiwan’s National Security Council (NSC) director said yesterday that now is not an appropriate time for Li Hongzhi, the founder of the Falun Gong movement which is banned in China, to visit Taiwan.

Director Tsai Teh-sheng cited national interest and security considerations as reasons why the government would not grant Li a visa if he were to apply for one.

Li’s visit will “damage the cross-Taiwan Strait ties,” Tsai said in a Legislative Yuan committee meeting, referring to Taiwan’s relations with China.

Two Chinese nationals linking to Falun Gong will be sent back to China.

Both men, when applying for refugee status, had claimed they feared persecution if they returned to China because they were practitioners of Falun Gong.

The claims were refused by the minister.

Subsequent appeals to the Refugee Review Tribunal and Federal Magistrates Court were also rejected before the Federal Court ruled a person’s conduct in Australia must be disregarded for the purposes of granting refugee status.

However, the High Court on Wednesday upheld a subsequent appeal by Immigration Minister Chris Evans.

One of the men, referred to as SZJGV, arrived in Australia on January 25, 2006. The following week he applied for a protection visa, claiming to have been a practitioner of Falun Gong in China since 1997.

The tribunal backed the original decision by the minister to dismiss the claim.

It found that SZJGV’s interest in Falun Gong was a recent invention designed to assist him in his endeavour to remain in Australia by strengthening his claims.

The other case involved a man, referred to as SZJXO, who arrived in Australia on April 22, 2006, and who also claimed to have been practising Falun Gong since 1997.

He claimed he would be imprisoned if he returned to China because of his participation in Falun Gong activities, including protests in Australia against China’s treatment of Falun Gong practitioners.

But the tribunal considered that his claims lacked credit his evidence.

The tribunal was satisfied that SZJXO’s involvement in Falun Gong in Australia was aimed at strengthening his claim to be a refugee and disregarded his evidence.

A majority of the High Court on Wednesday determined the tribunal had not erred in either matter and ordered that the minister’s appeals be allowed.

JewishIsrael are outraged at the USA for commenting on Israel’s religious policies.

They kvetch:

A disproportionate amount of the report is dedicated to depicting Torah traditions and Orthodox Judaism as oppressive, and to reporting on Israel’s “growing” but “harassed” community of apostate Jews and Christian missionaries.

The report cited that, “government allocations of state resources favored Orthodox (including Modern and National Religious streams of Orthodoxy) and ultra-Orthodox (sometimes referred to as “Haredi”) Jewish religious groups and institutions, discriminating against non-Jews and non-Orthodox streams of Judaism.”

The State Department was hypercritical of everything from Shabbat observance to Jewish marriage counseling, divorce law, and burial rights in Israel. Jewish Israel wonders if censuring circumcision is next?

Hold on a second, the USA wants greater religious freedom in Israel, not less! Nevermind eh!

JewishIsrael’s claims have been published in Arutz7 by the seemingly unscrupulous Hillel Fendel, who having written about Chinese persecution of the Falun Gong in January 2008, then wrote a gushing piece in February 2009 in praise of Yad L’Achim’s aiding and abetting the Chinese authorities to fight “cults” such as Falun Gong!

Judging from this picture, JewishIsrael treat the USA as a Christian nation.

So if the USA is a Christian country, then would it have the right to exclude any non-Christian citizens?

Of course not. The USA is a safe haven for religious Jews because of its religious freedoms.

JewishIsrael can’t have it both ways.

Yet JewishIsrael claims that as Israel is a Jewish nation, Israel has the right to exclude Messianic Jews.

JewishIsrael are ultimately out of touch with the Israeli public. Their Israel is nothing more than an extension of their personal desires.

It is not the real Israel.
