The only glitch: I’m sometimes glacially slow to post the lovely photos I’ve received.

Bedtime stories. I loved them. My mom told me many. I loved those stories because they were seldom about fairies and midgets and dealt more with real people and their circumstances.

My father, though, had just one in stock. And, he pulled it out of the bag on demand. Yet, we always had a laugh — even though everything about it was stale. We broke into peels of laughter when he narrated the only fat man’s tale he knew.

This picture of portliness stuffed his mouth with every dish at a restaurant and got weighed down by his humongous girth. Always, a crane lifted him and lowered him in his car which he inevitably failed to drive, tummy tyres getting stuck to the wheel.

Then. The climax. Such was the man’s weight that all four tyres went fooosh. The catch here was the comic book sound. It never was a bang. The sheer gracelessness of the affair left us choking with mirth. God only knows how many times he sent us to bed with this. We never tired of it.

The staggering rotundity, buttons bursting, trousers coming unstuck, gluttony, layers of double chin, a man dripping sweat from every pore being lifted out of a restaurant seat by crane and then the fooosh! These images and sounds are deeply embedded in the subconscious to this day.

The other extreme was Mom. The demand on her for stories was excruciatingly high. So, she was constrained to tell us all she read. In those days, Alistair MacLean was big. So were Harold Robbins and Sidney Sheldon. She had read a racy Robbins thriller called Fan Club.

The book had an extremely inconvenient cover — a nude woman spread-eagled on a bed. It was about a mentally deranged man who stalked a popular actress and held her captive. Displaying editing skill, she navigated us through chapter and verse as we heard in starry-eyed amazement.

Looking back on those days, I can well imagine the pressure brought upon her by her two nagging sons to put them to sleep with stories. Fan Club was a measure of the extreme. Otherwise, I got to know of a hopeless romantic called Devdas before his travails lulled me to slumber.

Bankim Chandra’s Ananda Math, Rabindranath’s Gora and even Leon Uris’s memorable story of Israel’s birth — Exodus — all served as bedtime food for thought. Not that I switched off immediately after the tale was told.

The brain would go on the overdrive painting pictures of the fiery Santan Dal as the story was told, of David Ben-Gurion and his epic struggle, of a desperate woman held hostage by a mad man.

The brain that had raced, hunted, twisted and turned with the characters and plot needed time to calm before sleep descended. Mum, an expert in watering down complex themes and intense storylines for us, never fatigued of the insatiable taar por (what happens next?) and soldiered on tirelessly.

With time, tar por would come with the heaviness of sleep. When it would be time to stop, she’d sign off saying: taar aar por nei…(Nothing happens next). Eyes would shut, breathing would become heavy. We’d be in slumberland.

Veamos, veamos, ¿Por donde empiezo?, dos veces, maldita sea, ayer fueron los premios MTVLA un show que desde hace mucho no veo porque la ganas de cagar que da son increíbles, es que tanta música mala junta de verdad que cae mal en el estomago, pero siempre sale algún cabrón a recordarte la vaina y uno se entera de aspectos de la presentación que vale la pena destacar aquí ya sea por el nivel de imbecilidad que muestran o porque son excelentes medidores del estado de una buena parte de la juventud hoy en día.

El año pasado un grupo de venezolanas ganaron el premio a mejor fan club con el que representa en el país a las bazofia pseudo musical llamada Tokio Hotel, este año el premio vuelve a caer en Venezuela esta vez con el fan club de Bitchney Spears un grupo de gente sin oficio que se dedica todos los días a jalar bolas a una de las artistas mas sobre estimadas de la historia, producto absoluto de la industria y ejemplo real de como debe ser la música de escuchar y tirar.

¿Que esta pasando con los jóvenes en Venezuela?, ¿Porqué habiendo tanta música decente en el mundo solo escogen basuras como Tokio Hotel o Britney para rendirles culto?, yo no le pido a nadie que escuche rock pero coño por lo menos disfruten de música que no sea prefabricada, vacilence la ejecución de un instrumento, sientan la vida de la música en sus huesos, no todo en un artista tiene que ser una linda cara y unas buenas tetas, el talento tambien cuenta.

Revisando el sitio http://www.britney.com.ve/ (Site del fan club) en su parte baja se lee una frase que reza “Una década de admiración…algo mas que palabras”, cuesta creer que alguien tenga diez años siendo fanático de alguien como Bitchney ya que su música es tan vacía que solo llena las expectativas de adolescentes y viejos sádicos quesuos, estoy seguro que muchos de los que la escuchaban hace diez años hoy dicen con vergüenza -Bueno…., si, pero tu sabes…erea un carajito-, no me imagino a ningún pana con 25 años de edad cantando “Crazy” , solo Camilo Reyes haria algo asi.

En fin otra demostración de lo bajo que estamos en lo que a cultura se refiere en este país, mientras algunos tratamos de mostrarle buena música a la gente una gran mayoría se dedican cual zombies a seguir “músicos” desechables, elementos olvidables que no dejan nada, felicidades a todos los miembros del fan club de Bitchney Spears Venezuela, ustedes son el ejemplo de fantasma que yo nunca quise ser, métanse su lengua por la nariz…..

Tickets for Korean actor Lee Min-ho’s fan meeting set for late-November in Japan sold out in an hour, according to the star’s agency on Monday.

“Despite it being a launching event for the fan club in Japan, many Asian fans from Taiwan, Thailand and China are still asking about the tickets,” Starhaus Entertainment explained. “Therefore, we are considering holding additional events in Osaka and other places.”

Tickets for the event, tentatively titled “Minoz JAPAN First Event”, were exclusively sold through his official fan club. However, too many people signed up for the fan club to buy tickets for the event, leaving many members without tickets, Starhaus said.

At the event, his official fan club in Japan “Minoz Japan” will kick off while the 22-year-old actor will also celebrate the publication of his first photo book “Travel with MINHO”, containing never-before seen photographs of the actor on location in Sydney and London as well as past interviews and a letter to fans.

Lee debuted as a model and appeared in several TV dramas before making it big earlier this year with the popular drama “Boys Over Flowers”.

Oh man – we very proud to announce some new designs. Pics will be up on the website in the next few days – but I can’t keep it in any longer.

We have added a turtle, a cow and a mushroom to our line. They are all super cute – and all the result of custom orders.

This is the last announcement we’ll be making right away like this – from now on we’ll be giving retailers and our fan club (sign up on our site!) notice of new designs a week before the rest of the world. Hoàng Hiệp “hát đên phê người”!

Cũng trong buổi offline Ngũ Cung đã giới thiệu 2 thành viên mới nhất của mình là drummer Đức  Chính và bassist Bằng. Đây đều đang là 2 sinh viên của  Học viện âm nhạc quốc gia Việt Nam.

Bằng – vị trí bassist tạm thời của Ngũ Cung. Anh là người có… gương mặt khả ái nhất đội hình Ngũ Cung trong buổi offline này.

Cũng như Bằng – drummer Chính đã thể hiện hết sức mình trên sân khấu.

Tham gia phần trò chơi giao lưu do chính vocalist Hoàng Hiệp đảm nhiệm có một số fan và khách mời, trong đó có ông chủ của  Còi  Xương Shop và chị L.A Phương – “đệ nhất phu nhân” của drummer Long Xù (ex Thủy Triều Đỏ).

It followed a sell-out 14 date season at The Grand Theatre. Joe’s next appearance in the town is in less than two weeks as he has been engaged by TV star David Gest to make a special guest star appearance alongside The Temptations, The Stylistics, Deniece Williams, Percy Sledge and a galaxy of soul stars at Blackpool Opera House on Saturday 3 October. Geraldine – who runs the fan club – also presented Joe with a special award from the Friendship Club after the show. Many fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of Joe’s autobiography – scheduled for publication in Spring 2010.

A section of TVXQ’s fanclub succeeded in presenting an effective case on matter of the current dispute between SM Entertainment and the group’s three members. They have made use of newspaper advertisments criticize SM Entertainment and to expose “how unfair TVXQ’s contract is”, stating slogans such as “TVXQ are not monkeys.”

In addition, they have already started a boycott against the company as well. TVXQ’s fanclub “Cassiopeia” is refusing to purchase any albums, photobooks, DVDs, ringtones, and other merchandise issued by SM Entertainment as well as staying away from any branch off restaraunts owned by the company, stating that “Fans have been exploited with merchandise most focused towards the numbers that are sold rather than its quality as well as with numerous contests similar in nature.”

Not only this, but TVXQ’s fans have presented a petition to the National Human Rights Committee last day. TVXQ fancafe, Dong Nae Bang Nae (DNBN) has handed in the petition along with 120 000 signatures stating that “In representing all the young people of Korea, because there are those who are trampling on the efforts of dignity and morality in this country, a drastic change is necessary in order for the victims of this case to be able to recover as soon as possible from the severe infringement of human rights that has occured.”

SM asked for understanding from those who had bought tickets to the upcoming “SM TOWN LIVE ‘09′” concert for cancelling the plans due to the consideration for the safety of the audience. DNBN, having applied for an official court compensation for financial and mental damage suffered due to the one-sided cancellation of the “SM TOWN LIVE ‘09′”, previously scheduled for August 16th, that was a result of no one else’s fault but their own, revealed that they wanted “An official apology from SM Entertainment and a 10% refund from the original ticket prices.”

The fanclub has also been presenting their case in writing in a very systematic fashion. TVXQ’s fans, who at first had been sending out a few emails stating their case, have now managed to put together an organized approach starting last month, facing the company eye to eye by putting together formal written reports. There is a high possibility that the fans of 2PM who have been stuffing the agency’s mailboxes full for the 11th day running will soon turn to similar efforts as well.

However, it is the opinion of practically half of the whole entertainment community that there isn’t really anything that fans can do in times of “unfairness from the agency.” In reality, not only is the relationship between the company and the artist not structured so much like “the agressor” and “the victim” as it might seem, but public relations must be handled in a much more careful manner than what fans might think.

An insider with relations to A, who has been gaining much popularity recently, confessed that “There are a lot of fans who pick fights about things like schedule policy or how we go about making legal documents. You really have nothing you can say or do when fans get stubborn over false rumors or without any real knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes.”

Continuing on, he stated “When the artists are having a hard time, the agencies are the ones that worry about them the most and are the ones that will try their best to find a way to get them out of the situation. In times like these, wouldn’t it be so much easier on both parties if the fans could just trust them and offer their support?”
