Everyone has a favorite artist, but what makes that artist a favorite? Bands have their music, their personality, the way they treat fans, how they handle interviews, if they use twitter/update their blogs ETC. There are many reasons to love a band, or to even become an obsessive fan (like myself), but let’s break down the basics.

A band has a responsibility to its fans: to keep them updated on their progress, keep churning out music that makes themselves happy and their fans, and to look good or be silly. If a band creates awesome music, that’s fantastic…but if they create awesome music AND treat the fans well/have alluring personalities they’ll attract more fans. Take for example Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden, now solo artist talks to his fanclub members via chat every sunday night; Fueled By Ramen artists have twitters to keep the fans updated. It’s great when a band can keep in close contacts with the fans, makes them seem grateful to know that their fans are so supportive of their music.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had obsessions with artists or bands because of their music AND their personalities. Like meeting a your favorite band member of your favorite band at a show, you already know so much about them that your meeting is like the greatest gift you can receive. If your life revolves around your love for The Beatles meeting Paul McCartney would be one of the highlights of your very existence!

Music not only offers support for times in need, it also gives you a completely different world to distract yourself with – to get away. It’s also a gateway for meeting new people – say I like the Jonas Brothers…well over a million screaming girls can relate to me, I could meet new people through their music. If music didn’t exist, would civilization be as successful, as modern? Music will always serve as a haven for everyone and that’s why it’s important for bands to realize that their fans are their safety net and by reaching out for them they’re furthering the human to human interaction, enhancing today’s culture!

A favorite band is a Favorite because of the attachment you get to them, because even though you may not know them personally they give you an emotionally security blanket to help you get through most or any situation. And everyone knows there’s nothing better than listening to your favorite band!

I have read Twilight’s sequel, “New Moon” and I have also seen the movie. Why? Because I read the first book and saw the movie too. Would I post a review here? No. A lot have been mentioned already about the series both good and bad. I’m merely posting a note here so that in the future, I can remind myself why I probably won’t read and see the third one. Like my sister said, maybe I have to be 17 years old in order to appreciate it – the story, the language…
Maybe it’s just a case of wrong expectations. When I first heard about the Twilight series, it only registered in my mind that it’s about vampires. Okay. I bought the book and planned to read it on halloween night (last year). I was imagining Interview with a Vampire, Vampire Knight, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, other Anne Rice vampire novels that I started but didn’t get around to finishing, even Moon Child ( a vampire-themed Japanese movie with a confused story but lots of hot guys, which I enjoyed for a reason not connected to the plot). So there I was, two hours to midnight and anticipating my first page of the hefty book.
A few pages into it and I became confused. This was not the book I had imagined it to be. It read more like a Sweet Dreams book I read when I was 12 (which was probably too early for that . The Sweet Dreams books were popular during the 80’s and whener I was at my grandmother’s house, I would read the books owned by an aunt who collected them when she was a teen-ager. Yup, remove the vampire element and you’ve got a Sweet Dreams book – the language level is the same. But, I have started the book, I might as well finish it. I kept convincing myself, I’m not a teen-ager anymore and so I have difficulty appreciating this. But then again, I have a friend my age who likes the series, or maybe because it is played by Pattinson. I am not going to comment about Pattinson because I am scared of fangirls who might take it personally.

I used to fear only heights and snakes, and now I have added a third, fangirls. And I have to end this entry here. I’ll say no more.

I found your blog in a time when my addiction to everything twi-related grew so strong that I just had to find some kind of outlet for it all. You made me feel comfortable and showed me that I was not that crazy after all. Even now, four months later you girls still make me laugh every single day with your awesome posts. Yeah, because to be honest I always visit your site as soon as a new post is published. Makes me think if Letterstotwilight really helped my addiction at all or if that is just some kind of new addiction… Hm, whatever. Can’t help it anyway.

Soul, Zelda and the perfect dress

Remember the epic day when the Pattinson Pants now Cullen Capris Lady wrote you that e-mail? Yesterday was my epic blogger day so to speak. The day that goes right along with finding the perfect dress which the girl even had to take off the display dummy because it was the last one. Or the day my fellow blogger aka partner in crime ZeldaTheTwilightPrincess (affectionately called Zelda) and I had the most amazing because totally unsuspected sportive success in our whole gymnastics career (Yeah!). Or the day my mum made her prediction for the ending of the Twilight saga and pronounced the funniest thing anyone ever said to me.

Wanna know what it was that put yesterday on the same level as those events? I found out your real names. No, not Bunny and Noreen. I mean your real real-life names. First Moon’s and then about twenty minutes later I discovered UC’s as well. This required unusual skills and private investigator abilities… which I have, of course. Cause I’m such a pro. And just telling Zelda about it made me almost go fangirl-crazy.
I felt like Sherlock Holmes, Columbo and Adrien Monk all combined in one person… only with the looks of Victoria (Yeah, in my dreams, I know) because I like her hair so much. Of course I won’t reveal the names here, nor the way I found out about them. Cause honestly, I owe you so much and feel kind of loyal to you. Although you don’t know me so this doesn’t really make sense I guess. Never mind. I won’t give any details although it’s such a great and funny story. Where you really those beautiful, hilarious, hip twenty-somethings as which I pictured you? Or did I maybe put you on a pedestal like you said you probably did with Rob? Were you a fifty-something fat british businessman trying to distract himself from the fact that his wife ran away three years ago and who therefor decided to call himself UC and Moon and start a Twilight-blog to attract younger women? Uhm, well… no,you’re not. A fat old Brit, I mean. Concerning the young hip women, yes you are! At least I think so. Well, you probably won’t read this anyway and therefor not know how thankful I am. When I said this was going to be a love-letter I didn’t mean this in a fake-lesbian / maybe not so fake lesbian way. I just wanted to tell you how great it is that you make me laugh everyday. And made me realize that I’m not crazy because I’m such a twi-addict and started a blog with my friend Zelda to swoon over Rob and the other hot guys (ahem… Alex…ahem) and make fun of the crazy fangirls we’ve become when we thought we were actually too old for all that fuss. But hey, that’s normal, right? Just in case you by any chance stumble across this post: If you two ever want to hear the whole story about how I found out about you, just let me know and I’ll tell you, promise!

Noticed anything strange? Yep, right! I didn’t start the headline with “How to dazzle”. Revolution! I felt kind of limited in my endless twi-creativity and couldn’t use the great post titles that sometimes came to my mind. So I talked to Zelda about it yesterday and she goes like “Hey, don’t worry. Doesn’t really matter. If you don’t want to start with HTD, then just don’t!” That’s one thing I like about Zelda, things like that are no big deal for her. Of course I feel a little bit bad now because I screwed the actual concept of our blog. Cause the reason why we chose the name How To Dazzle over all our other ideas was that we thought it funny to start all our post with the words HTD. So to calm my bad conscience I’ll probably start some of my future post with the usual phrase nevertheless. Not today though. Today it’s revolution!

Wondering where I’m going with this headline? Yeah, me too… So let’s figure it out. Here we go! After the New Moon premiere on november 16th I spent weeks a few minutes watching all the red carpet interviews. And of course I didn’t miss out on all the Shaun Robinson Access Hollywood stuff. So just you can get my point better and in case you can’t remember all the details properly, here are some of the interviews again:

Watch as Shaun Robinson gets bitten by Rob and touches his hair… if you can bear it. Cause I’m about to die everytime I watch this. Simply because I’m so damn jealous. I mean, honestly? Rob and this woman got insider jokes? Really?

Watch as Taylor gets waaay embarrassed. There’s proof, he even says it out loud! Yeah, I know I already used this one in another post. So just enjoy it again. All the cut-outs and action figures and sexy abs jokes seem to be a bit too much for poor Taylor. And he’s right. I kind of pity him. This woman stuck the Jacob Black doll into her skirt just to get Taylor to touch her? Hey Shaun, I tell you this because no matter what I write in this post I like your interviews a lot and I don’t want you to end up in jail: He’s seventeen, that’s only legal in Georgia! So keep that in mind next time you do something crazy like… let’s say pulling a stuffed animal wolf out of your Team Taylor panties… Just saying.

Aaahhh, she does it again! Don’t touch his hair, please. I beg you. Not that I wouldn’t do it as well given the chance… The hair thing, yes. But never ever in my whole ife would I get out my Edward blanket in front of Rob. Never. Except if this was part of some crazy fantasy of his, ifyouknowwhatimean…

And to finish it off, the wolfpack. Yeah, get out your super iPhone Jacob Black special edition. Cause you know they will love it. Best part? Seeing the disappointment in her eyes when she can’t all talk them into taking their shirts of immediatly. But hey, this is Shaun Robinson. She doesn’t give up that easily. So enjoy all the hot wolfpack members giving her their best werewolf growl.

Shaun Robinson is able to even put Cathy the Cougar to shame. I bet she waited in front of Taylors house on november 20th, trying to bribe him into finally taking his shirt off for her. I really feel so damn 2nd-hand-embarrassed for her everytime I watch those interviews. Although I got to admit they’re quite funny. But all the cut-outs and the Edward blanket… I’m sure she brought all that stuff from my her house aka the sexy New Moon cast members tribute lair. Yeah, why not. Given the opportunity Zelda and I would steal purchase some of those cut-outs as well. And then take photos of us kissing and embracing them. And then make fun of ourselves for being the fangirls we are…

Zelda and I were at the New Moon premiere. This means everyone in the audience saw the film for the first time. This is were you get the absolutely pure reactions of  all the former New Moon virgins. And this is what happened:

Volterra, the Volturi headquarters, Aro takes Alice’s hand to get proof that she really wants to turn Bella into a vampire. Dramatic music plays, fangirls are close to freaking out but somehow manage to stay calm and bite their nails instead. What will Bella look like? What will Aro see? Will they be free to go like in the book or will there be more changes? Finally Aro and Alice touch and we see… uhm, Bella and Edward running through the woods looking like the teenage version of Hansel and Gretel (at least that’s what Mama Soul said). And this is the moment where at least 93.7% of the audience start laughing their asses off. The remaining 6.3% are real Twihards who somehow manage to stay calm and endure this silently.

I mean, come on. Honestly? What was it that convinced Aro that this was indeed Bella as a vampire? The dress, because in real life Bella would never ever wear a dress on a normal day but only for special occasions when Alice forces her to?

Edward "I move in slow motion to dazzle all the girls so they forget I can't park" Cullen

The fact that she suddenly seems to be able to move in slow motion? The always perfect amount of wind blowing through her hair? Very characteristic for vampires, just check out Edward in the “I’m so cool I need three parking spots” scene aka the New Moon Volvo ad. Or was it the fact that Bella is finally able to run through the woods without falling down every ten seconds? Yeah, this is kind of a revolution for her, but still… So if I get a new but somehow old looking fluttery dress and run through the woods so fast my hair is blowing in the wind and I don’t stumble, would Aro mistake me as a vampire as well? I’m not sure… She didn’t even sparkle. Cause that would at least have been one serious proof. But obviously this is what vampires do in their free-time. Dress up in 19th century stuff and run around a bit just for fun. Yeah, that’s the perfect thing to do if you’re immortal, got a bottomless amount of money and the vampire-love of your life… So if this is a rather common thing to do then it absolutely makes sense that Aro recognized her as a vampire.

Isle Soul! Wanna visit me there Edward?

If I on the other hand were in Bella’s place I would not run around a forest senselessly but rather make out with Edward buy a pair of Manolos, drive around in my new super fancy car, make out with Edward buy a super elegant Chanel dress, travel the world, make out with Edward learn at least seven foreign languages, read all my favorite books again, make out with Edward learn at least three instruments and buy my own private island called Isle Soul to make… uhm, well, you get the picture. But hey, if Bella prefers a little running, why not? Must feel great to be finally able to run without falling down all the time. So congrats vampire-version of Bella aka Gretel, have fun and run around a bit more. And Edward, if you ever get bored by that super common vamp free-time activity, you know where to find me…

Yeah, Zelda and I made it through our first month of blogging! We managed to publish a new post each single day and logged in eagerly everytime as soon as we got home just to see how many visitors we had. Im jealous of manga girls.Verrrry jealous.heck. At the end of the manga they usually  always get what they wanted  not fair! haha .. anyways I think life in a manga is way easier than real life I just have this kind of sensation.. My favorite manga is Chocolate cosmos. I used to like Lovey Dovey. The very 1st volume was awesomeness..but when me and my cousin bought number 2 we were like ‘wtf is this? It’s so stuck up!’ there was too much trasgressions..anyway I have to buy the last the n.5…I dislike shin kirisaki so much! He goes on my nerves! I think saika kinda stupid. She’s kirisaki’s slave. I was for keishi Keishi is a real prince. I also really love jun and his friends  they’re so funny! haha they’re awesome, maybe the most funny thing of lovey dovey ! Well anyways I love chocolate cosmos more than every other manga! It’s so a-w-e-s-o-m-e!! haha guys awesome stuff it’s so so so so so so so so sad that they only made 4volumes…i wish they could have done more. I love sayuki sakurai she’s awesome and I find she’s pretty and cute tohught she never really smiles hehe. Her thoughts are like mine and we’re really similar i love her. I also love hagiwara but he’s so angelic haha I think he’s very very perverted inside.. haha! Well then I discovered a fucking enemy girl in volume 3rd i think chapter 12..Komura Yukako. she’s a huge bitch. A slut. A whore. What does she want form hagiwara,huh? He’s sayuki’s (soon) boyfriend and fuck you you don’t have to touch him oukay? Another bitch is karen of naruto..bleah x10000. How come does she talk to sasuke like she knew him since 17 years already??! What the heck does she want from him? ARGAHA I get so angry when I see them together. Sasuke is mine and I bet that if he was real he would have choosen me over 100000 fangirls, included Karin. And naruto please be with sakura you’re also pissing me off with your way to act.. Oh i wish sasuke would be real and kiss me cry me a river..i have to go to sleep now because it’s late. Bye
