So… I’ve been thinking about this for a long time now, because it’s a favourite objection of people opposed to the concept of evolution: how, in the framework of evolution, can one explain things like morality, or altruism?  Surely that’s one of the major proofs for the existence of a god.  Selfless acts make no sense against the backdrop of ’survival of the fittest’.  Only a god-instilled quality can explain such things.

I don’t think so, and here’s why.

First, shaky ground: according to people much smarter than me, the whole association of ’survival of the fittest’ with evolutionary theory is a mistake.  Here is how I understand evolution:

Life on earth (and how it arrived there is not yet fully understood, that’s true) started as simple forms.  The process of reproduction often causes slight changes in the offspring to occur.  Most of the time, these changes are detrimental to the offspring, and they die before procreating.  Sometimes, however, these changes make the offspring better able to survive and thrive.

As a result, offspring with advantageous mutations have more successful offspring of their own, and in greater numbers.  It also happens that different offspring can have different mutations which in both instances give an advantage, but in different ways.  Differences in environment also influence which mutations give offspring the edge.  Over millions of years, small changes accumulate, resulting in big changes when they’re all added together.  Big changes as in different species.  Voila: evolution.

‘Survival of the fittest’ does, in a way, describe evolution, but I think in the human mind it has taken on a sinister meaning.  The fittest don’t survive by destroying the unfit, they survive simply because they are able to get away from a predator a little faster than the poor sod who wasn’t born with this weird fin-like mutation that just happens to help the little globalami swim a bit faster.  Fit means, here, suitable, not fit as in Olympic athlete.  There is no malice in this concept.

That’s already a spanner in the question, as far as I’m concerned.  When you don’t see this whole thing as a race with ruthless competitors, but just a collection of bewildered life forms all doing their best to live another day, it’s difficult already to understand the problem with morality.

However, it can still be argued that the organism whose brain had some kind of quirk that made it put itself at risk for no individual gain, would be at greater risk of being killed and therefore not reproducing.

To me, a kind of A-ha erlebnes happened when one day I fell over my own brain and got up to see it had tripped me on purpose to give it time to write on that blackboard in my head: HUMANITY ITSELF IS AN ORGANISM.  Herds, flocks, species: they are also organisms, just as individuals are.  The concept seems, to me (bear with me here, I can get really excited over stupid things) absolutely brilliant, yet so simple I am embarrassed I didn’t understand it sooner.

If the herd is an organism, a mutation which leads an individual to put itself at risk in order to protect the herd is an advantageous mutation for the herd.  The self-sacrificing individual will not necessarily get killed, or may have already reproduced, and its sacrifice gives its offspring (carrying the selfless mutation) a better chance of survival.  In the next generation, several individuals will act in the best interest of the herd, which makes the herd even more likely to survive.  Within a few generations, the selfless mutation herd will be stronger and more numerous than the herd filled with individuals not inclined to self-sacrifice.

The human herd benefits from morality, because immoral acts are usually those which cause harm to others.  A society where theft, murder, violence and so on are rife, is not one where humans as a group will most likely survive and thrive.  A billionaire giving his fortune away to charity benefits humanity as a whole. Altruism is good for the herd.

To me, it makes perfect, wonderful, simple but brilliant sense.  Please tell me what you think of all that!  And if anyone who’s studied anthropology (oh, gods, would that even be the right field for this kind of subject matter?) can tell me more of this herd-as-an-organism concept and perhaps a book or two where I can read more about it, I’d be very grateful.

And yes, I am a little chuffed that I took the difficult route and thought this up all by myself instead of just reading up on evolution etc. and finding the answers there.  But it could be I read this somewhere and it didn’t quite sink in until a few weeks ago. Now my brain claims this as my own discovery…

Vous pensiez avoir tout vu avec 2012 ? Vous pensiez avoir touché le fond de l’ennui et de la débilité avec Twilight 1 : Fascination ? Nous aussi, jusqu’à avoir vu le nouveau film de la saga la plus en vogue du moment : Twilight 2 : New Moon (ou Tentation en français).

Un petit retour en arrière d’un an est nécessaire. 2008 : le film le plus attendu par les adolescentes de 14 ans sort enfin au cinéma avec le beau Robeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeert Pattinson.
2009 : les adolescentes ont maintenant 15 ans, Robert et toujours aussi beau, sauf que là, on rajoute un mec, le beau Jacooooooooooooob.
Le premier avait encore le mérite d’être drôle (souvenez-vous de cette sublime scène en slow motion où Bella passe devant le ventilateur, scène qui nous a valu plus d’un fou rire), ou encore la magnifique scène de « baston » (entre guillemets hein, ils se jettent sur des miroirs ouuuuuuuuh).
Ici, rien n’est à sauver.
L’histoire : Après un terrible accident avec Bella, les Cullen décident de quitter Forks en promettant de ne plus jamais la voir. Lors de sa dépression, Bella se rapproche de Jacob qui se révèle être un loup-garou. Quand elle croyait avoir réussi à passer à autre chose, elle aperçoit le beau vampire lors de montées d’adrénaline, et ne sait qui choisir.
Et un soir, Alice Cullen revient à Folk.

Comme pour le un, tout est plus ou moins balancé en 15 minutes. L’introduction où Edward part parce que Bella s’est coupée avec du papier cadeau (ahahah) est plus ridicule qu’autre chose. La réalisation téléfilm (toujours moins pire que Fascination) pompe à peu près chez tous les mauvais réalisateurs, enchaînant les effets clipesques vomitifs (la scène de déprime où plusieurs mois passent, où les saisons changent par la fenêtre et où Bella reste dans la même position, avec les mêmes fringues est absolument immonde) et surtout va chercher chez notre copain Zack Snyder (si si, le réal du très mauvais Watchmen) pour les scènes de combat en slow motion dégueulasse, ridicule et inutile, accentuant alors le rythme ultra lent du « scénario ». N’oublions pas les 3 plans les plus ridicules de l’histoire du cinéma : Robert Pattinson, cheveux et veste au vent, sortant au ralenti (oui encore) de sa voiture ; Robert et Kristen courant dans la forêt tout deux vêtus de blanc, encore une fois, au ralenti (bis), et surtout, le plan pectoraux gratuit de Taylor Lautner. Et c’est là qu’on comprend le public visé.

Là où le très con Hypertension 2 visait les gros beaufs à coup de bagnoles et de plans nichons partout et complètement gratuit, ici, on nous montre des pectoraux (15 kilos de muscles il a pris le petit, il faut le vouloir) comme ça, au moment où on s’y attend le moins, et en gros plan en plus !
Quand on observe ce ramassis de vomi de 2h00 (une sieste est permise hein, vous inquiétez pas, vous comprendrez tout), on se demande où est parti tout le budget. Les effets spéciaux ont bien 5 ans de retard (ce qui est énorme quand on voit comment ça évolue d’année en année). La transformation en loup-garou (j’y reviendrais) est plus ridicule qu’autre chose et les apparitions d’Edward sont à pleurer.
Ah bah oui, je vous ai pas dit, le beau vampire n’apparaît presque pas dans ce deuxième film. Sauf sous des apparitions fantomatiques (encore plus fantomatiques qu’en vrai, farine sur le visage incluse) immondément laides dégoulinantes de CGI.

Parlons-en du scénario tiens. Comme je le disais, tout est balancé en 15 minutes. Dans Fascination, on nous montrait 4 bad guys tuant des marins, présentation d’environ 5 minutes, ici, on nous montre vaguement les Volturis, comme quoi ils sont super puissants et qu’ils ont les yeux rouges. Et le reste ? Bah rien. Un néant total de 2h, enchainant les scènes se voulant contemplatives et qui se révèlent plus que chiantes, le scénario s’emmêle dans plusieurs sous-intrigues toutes plus bidons les unes que les autres et au final, nous sort, cliché sur cliché (le passage au cinéma avec les faux films est d’un mauvais goût assez incroyable) des scènes redondantes et tirées sur de looooongs moments (je pense là à la fabrication de la moto).
Souvenons-nous que ici, les vampires peuvent boire du sang d’animal et surtout, au soleil, leur peau brille. Et on continue les coups de hache dans la mythologie monstrueuse, maintenant, les loups-garous se transforment en pleine journée, et à chaque fois qu’ils s’énervent.
Edward est donc totalement mis de coté, mais apparaît quand même histoire de plaire aux filles, Victoria et Jacob sont sous-développés au possible. Reste que Kristen Stewart s’en sort pas trop mal comparé au reste du casting, et quand on voit le résultat final. La bande originale n’est en soi pas mauvaise mais est balancée sans aucun rapport avec les scènes, et on a l’impression de regarder MTV

Là où encore, on aurait pu espérer que le message véhiculé dans le Chapitre 1 n’était que le fruit de notre imagination, exagéré au possible, on se rend compte que, finalement non.  Durant les quelques moments où Bella et Edward s’embrassent, Chris Weitz essaye d’établir une fausse tension sexuelle, et le plan final mérite facilement un Razzie à lui tout seul : « Je ne te mordrais qu’à une condition. Veux-tu m’épouser ? ». Comprendre : ne pas coucher avant le mariage.

Naja fik øje på mig gennem glasdøren. Da hun trådte ind, sagde hun “Hej Malene!” og gav mig et kram – et fantastisk kram, jeg ville have holdt længere, hvis jeg turde. Hendes læber smilede så fint – de her små, så yndige læber. Smalle. Lidt spidse på en smuk måde. Jeg betragtede hende på afstand og følte mig lidt barnlig, da jeg tog mig selv i at føle det som et gensyn med en gammel ven.

Hun bar en lang oversize – champagnefarvet, vil jeg sige, og i fin silke, der reflekterede lyset fra lamperne i loftet – fik det til at skinne. Som når månen reflekteres i solen, eller som når stjernerne skinner på det ellers kulsorte tæppe. Eller bare som når en kvinde klæder sig i en pæn bluse og ser fandens godt ud. Hun har også pæne ben. Hun havde jeans på, men jeg kunne alligevel se, de var smukke. Ikke lange som sådan, men smalle. Smukt smalle. Jeg indrømmer det – det var dem, jeg så på. Gloede på. Jeg takkede for et spændende foredrag, og hun svarede: “Og tak for, at du er så litterær. Og… inspirerende!” Inspirerende. Tænk at jeg kan virke inspirerende for andre mennesker. Og tænk jeg kan være inspirerende for hende. Lige hende. Selv ét af de mest spændende, inspirerende mennesker, jeg overhovedet kender til. Inspirerende, betagende og dybt fascinerende.

E-Books are also a great way to publish your book. More and more people are working on computers now and have little time to read a book , so they read E-books instead.

How do you write E-books? By making a .doc document with programs like Word,Open Office or even online with Google docs. Google docs is great because it’s user-friendly and you can download your text as a .pdf wich is the standard format for E-books. I recommend using Google Docs. You will need a google account and then you can use it for free.

So what is this blog going to be about? Well Writing in General. Everything from writing fiction and fan fics to plain blogging. Tips,Tricks and Tutorials are sure to come. I am also working on my E-book

Etant donné qu’à mon précédent article j’ai critiqué la bande originale de New Moon, je tiens d’ores et déjà à vous expliquer la nature de ma déception. Comme je l’ai dit dans l’article précédent, la B.O de Fascination est vraiment excellente. A vrai dire il n’y a pas une chanson que je n’ai pas aimé…mais il y en a vraiment deux qui m’ont marqué…et tout particulièrement la chanson du générique de fin Flightless Bird d’Iron and Wine. En effet cette chanson m’a réellement bouleversé, et il faut dire que ce type de mélodie met vraiment en valeur la douceur de la voix de Samuel Beam. En fait cette chanson m’a tellement transporté que j’en perds mes mots…je crois que mon côté mielleux ressort :p Bon en tout cas j’espère que vous m’aurez compris…et si c’est pas le cas, je m’en excuse.

Dans un tout autre registre, un des titres qui m’a marqué est celui des Black Ghosts, Full moon entendu au début du film. Cette chanson m’a tout simplement fait voyagé. Je m’imaginais déjà sur la route 66, sur une moto, le vent dans mes cheveux, et le désert à perte de vue. Je sais pas pourquoi, mais ce titre m’a vraiment transporté, et depuis mon baladeur MP3 ne peut plus s’en séparer.

Enfin bon, pour conclure, je pense que ce premier volet de Twilight doit son succès, en partie, à sa bande originale d’une grande qualité. Ce n’est pas du Tarantino, certes, mais ça me convient amplement.

“NUIT SPECIALE TWILIGHT” ce mercredi 18 novembre au Cinéma de Stockel : Fascination à 21:45 et Tentation à 00:01 !

Avec MonChéri, on s’était dit qu’on n’irait pas.
Tenir plus de 4h30 dans une salle de cinéma, pour un film que lui n’aime pas particulièrement, avec une journée chargée le lendemain et un concert 2 jours plus tard, c’était moyen !
Finalement, à 21h, “Surprise ! Prépare-toi, on file au cinéma !”  *AAAHHHH*

Synopsis
Isabella Swan, 17 ans, déménage à Forks, petite ville pluvieuse dans l’Etat de Washington, pour vivre avec son père. Elle s’attend à ce que sa nouvelle vie soit aussi ennuyeuse que la ville elle-même. Or, au lycée, elle est terriblement intriguée par le comportement d’une étrange fratrie, deux filles et trois garçons. Bella tombe follement amoureuse de l’un d’eux, Edward Cullen. Une relation sensuelle et dangereuse commence alors entre les deux jeunes gens : lorsque Bella comprend qu’Edward est un vampire, il est déjà trop tard.

Critique
Film que j’ai vu, vu, vu et revu.
Je pensais passer 2h un peu molles à revoir ce premier volet, que ça ne m’apporterait pas grand chose de le revoir, mais finalement..
L’ambiance d’une salle de cinéma est toute particulière, même quand on connaît le film presque par cœur. Entourée de fans, les scènes drôles le sont encore plus avec les fous rires des autres. Les moments plus romantiques apportent des “Oohh c’est meuuuugnonnnnn !” chuchotés, et avoir déjà vu le film permet de découvrir des détails auquels on n’avait pas forcément fait attention lors des premières visions, tant sur les décors que sur les personnages. Une mention toute particulière d’ailleurs pour le père de Bella. Autant son rôle m’avait paru sympa les premières fois, là je l’ai trouvé vraiment extra !
Et évidemment, un film qu’on apprécie devant une télé qui date des années 90 ou qu’on regarde sur grand écran, y a pas photo ! Le grand écran et le son parfait créent une ambiance particulièrement adaptée..
Ce qui m’a aussi beaucoup intéressée, c’est de revoir ce volet après avoir vu les secrets de tournage, en bonus sur le DVD. Voir une scène et se dire “Ah ouais, là ils ont fait cette cascade comme ça..” !
Bref, ce premier épisode m’a encore plus plu que d’habitude.
Seul petit hic pour vraiment jouer la chieuse, c’est que ce genre de films doit se voir en VO pour apprécier au maximum les personnages et leurs dialogues. Y a pas à dire, une voix doublée ne fera jamais ressortir à 100% l’intensité du jeu d’un acteur..

Synopsis
“Tu ne me reverras plus. Je ne reviendrai pas. Poursuis ta vie, ce sera comme si je n’avais jamais existé”. Abandonnée par Edward, celui qu’elle aime passionnément, Bella ne s’en relève pas. Comment oublier son amour pour un vampire et revenir à une vie normale ? Pour combler son vide affectif, Bella court après le danger et prend des risques de plus en plus inconsidérés. Edward n’étant plus là pour la protéger, c’est Jacob, l’ami discret et indéfectible qui va la défendre et veiller sur elle. Mais peu à peu, elle réalise l’ambigüité des sentiments qu’ils éprouvent l’un envers l’autre…”

Critique
J’ai ENFIN vu le film que j’attends de voir depuis plusieurs mois.
Et je suis sortie de la salle avec une impression.. mitigée.

Pour commencer, l’histoire colle apparemment parfaitement au livre. Pour ça, je suis contente de ne pas l’avoir relu avant la sortie du film car je m’y attendais. C’était pareil dans la Saga Harry Potter ; il faut vraiment se détacher du livre pour apprécier le film, et pour ça seule solution, ne plus toucher au livre les semaines précédents la sortie du film en salle.
Les scènes clés ont été adaptées de façon très correctes, contrairement au premier volet où la scène de la clairière par exemple est raccourcie et limite baclée.
Seule critique concernant l’histoire, c’est la période de dépression de Bella, mal retransmise sur écran ; elle aurait dû être plus longue et surtout plus intense. A part la mine de Bella, blanche, cernée et sans sourire, sa détresse n’est pas assez perceptible.
Aussi, la fin est selon moi baclée. Il manque une bonne vingtaine de minutes au film pour vraiment faire ressentir le retour des Cullen à Forks et les retrouvailles d’Edward et Bella ; l’impression de rêver qu’elle a à son réveil, toutes les questions qu’elle se pose quant à l’avenir d’Edward près d’elle, …
D’un point de vue technique, les effets spéciaux sont vraiment réussis. La présentation des loups dans ce volet est aussi réussie que celle des vampires dans l’épisode précédent. Les loups sont bien dessinés, les mouvements fluides et les transformations homme-loup bien adaptées.
Seul très gros bémol niveau effets spéciaux, la scène de bataille avec les Volturi : nulle, nulle, nulle ! J’ai regardé la scène avec des yeux gros comme des pastèques en me demandant si le réalisateur n’avait pas essayé de faire un remarque style “Matrix chez les Vampires”. Ces quelques minutes sont vraiment complètement ratées.
Par contre, niveau maquillage, surprise totale en découvrant les premières minutes du film : les vampires sont livides, mais vraiment blanc-blanc, et leurs yeux sont vraiment différents. Je n’avais pas le souvenir dans le premier volet que la différence était si importante entre Edward et Bella. Comment les autres habitants de Forks n’ont-ils pas tiqué sur la vraie nature des Cullen ? Selon moi, le maquillage est beaucoup trop prononcé dans cet épisode.
Les acteurs quant à eux sont vraiment plutôt bons en général.
Jacob tout particulièrement, qui en enlevant son T-Shirt a déclenché la furie des petites adolescentes de la salle *Et même si en passant, je n’aime pas particulièrement ce genre de playboy, en tant que Kiné, je dis respect à Taylor pour sa transformation physique entre le premier et le deuxième volet. Chapeau !* Son jeu est juste, profond et travaillé.
Edward, par contre, peut rentrer chez lui se rhabiller. D’ailleurs, en passant, je ne comprends pas comment il a pu accepter de se mettre torse nu après Jacob. La comparaison est très facile à faire, et Pattinson peut carrément aller se cacher ! Son jeu à lui m’a paru bon, sauf durant certaines scènes où il se contente de chuchoter, ce qui apporte un caractère complètement niais aux scènes plus romantiques, et donne plus envie de rire un bon coup que de s’attendrir sur les deux personnages enfin réunis. Très déçue sur ce coup-là, surtout pour la scène en Italie où Bella empêche Edward de faire un esclandre.
A part ces trois-là, le père de Bella reste parfait dans son rôle de papa-protecteur. Toujours autant d’humour bien transmis..
Finalement, la présence inattendue d’une actrice de grand talent.. que seuls les vrais observateurs auront pu démasquée : Dakota Fanning.
Fan depuis ses débuts de cette actrice, je me suis demandée en voyant le casting quel personnage elle jouerait, pour finalement la retrouver en tant que Jane chez les Volturi. Jeu parfait, mimiques très adaptées, performance très courte mais très remarquée.

Bref, impression mitigée en sortant, même si le film en général reste très plaisant.
Juste à noter, les dernières secondes du film très frustrantes.
Edward qui impose une unique condition à Bella pour qu’il la transforme lui-même en vampire : “Epouse-moi”.
FIN brutale. Frustrant. Ingénieux. Mais suuuuper frustrant

Ca y est, c’est le jour J pour des millions de fans qui ont attendu avec fébrilité ce 18 novembre, qui vont aller s’enfermer dans les salles obscures des cinémas pour voir…pour voir quoi ? Le deuxième volet de la saga Twilight bien sûr ! Cette histoire d’amour entre une humaine et un vampire a soulevé une véritable vague d’admirateurs sans limite. Allez, pour le plaisir de ces milliers de fans, une petite bande annonce. (Petit avertissement quand même pour ceux qui n’ont pas lu les livres, cette BA dévoile beaucoup de choses sur l’histoire)

On vous rappelle que les quatre tomes de la série Fascination sont disponibles à la médiathèque de Plouzané. Les livres sont eux aussi victimes de leur succès, il est utile de les réserver.

I can’t quite understand what is going on with me. The job that I used to love is now like hell for me. I can’t stand it anymore, it does not bring me happiness. I remember the time when I would come in early, so I could do my job perfectly, and now I am counting minutes to get out.

When I was still a kid (ahem up to now feeling bagets ehehhe) my grandmother would tell stories that our neighbor grew grapes from their backyard. By hearing so, I was fascinated and eager to know how to plan t the vine. Oh well of course I failed with my experiments. It is quite impossible to succeed since we know that Pinas (growing banana plant would be easier isn’t it?)imports grapes from The US, China and other countries that have hectares of vineyard.

I have heard that in Arevalo, Iloilo City ( which is also known as Villa Arevalo, Villa for short) grows grapes since 1950. But to see is to believe. Until one day, I came to visit a vineyard located in a secret place in Sta. Barbara ( hire me as your tour guide I’ll bring you there for free hehehe) and was in awe! Kung sa ilonggo pa namanul sang grapes hehehe. I could not contain myself and been very happy seeing live vineyard for the first time!

A classmate of mine told me he grew grapes from seeds after he ate a bunch of them. Up to now he is still cultivating and made them mature. I have been begging him for some but of course he has to make them mature first. Anyway I hope hes going to give me someday.

Oh well kung ginaswerte ka gd man, I was surprised when I came home that my aunt sent me 2 growing vines of a Thompson grape variety from the States. Now I can’t wait to plant them in our yard. Wish me luck guys on my quest to Viticulture thingy. If I’ll be lucky enough, I could harvest some in 10-12 months time. Pray for it to grow so we could eat them soon hehehehe.

Cheryl Cole joined the select band of solo female artists to achieve simultaneous U.K. No. 1 singles and albums yesterday. The Girls Aloud member and “X Factor” judge’s debut solo album “3 Words” (Fascination/Polydor/Universal) opened in pole position while “Fight For This Love,” which arrived at No. 1 last week as the U.K.’s fastest-selling single of the year, went into a second week at the top.

Cole is the 12th female artist in U.K. chart history to record that double achievement, according to the Official U.K. Charts Company, and the third this year, following Lily Allen and Lady Gaga. Underlining her current popularity, the title track from her album, featuring will.i.am, also sold sufficient downloads to make the top 40 of the singles chart, at No. 26.

The “3 Words” album hit No. 1 ahead of some strong competition, with Michael Bublé’s “Crazy Love” (Reprise/Warner Music) holding at No. 2. His single “Haven’t Met You Yet” climbed 9-5 and another track from the set, “Cry Me A River,” hit the singles top 40 at No. 34.

Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” (Epic), the partner release to the film of the same name, arrived at No. 3 and Soldiers’ “Coming Home” (Rhino/Warner Music) at No. 4. The latter is an album of covers (including “Tears In Heaven,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Stand By Me”) by Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi, Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, serving officers in the British Army.

Last week’s No. 1 album, Alexandra Burke’s “Overcome” (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment), fell to No. 5, while crossover classical vocalist Katherine Jenkins’ “Believe” (Warner Bros.) opened at No. 6. Irish easy listening singer and chart regular Daniel O’Donnell’s “Peace in the Valley” (DMG TV) came in at No. 8.

Cole’s single stayed at the top ahead of a new entry at No. 2 for Irish hitmakers Westlife. “What About Now” (S/Sony Music Entertainment), their cover of the Daughtry song, is the lead single from their new, tenth album “Where We Are,” which follows Nov. 30. The track is Westlife’s 23rd top ten U.K. single.

Jay Sean’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 “Down” (Universal Island), featuring Lil Wayne, made its U.K. debut at No. 3, as Black Eyed Peas’ “Meet Me Halfway” (Interscope/Universal) climbed 11-6. Miley Cyrus scored a No. 11 entry with “Party in the U.S.A.” (Hollywood/EMI), with Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” (Interscope/Universal) new at No. 14 and Biffy Clyro’s “The Captain” (14th Floor/Warner Music) at No. 17.

On Billboard’s European sales charts, German rock mainstay Rammstein’s “Liebe Ist Für Alle Da” (Motor) raced 15-1 to top European Albums, as Robbie Williams’ “Bodies” (Virgin/EMI) began a second week atop European Hot 100 Singles.

Tous les 3,  le cul scotché sur nos fauteuils rouges et moelleux, les yeux rivés à l’écran, qui projetait cette Bande-annonce (qui n’en finissait plus… (^^)) !

J’ai découvert “MJ“ par le biais d’une autre grande Couz’  : TOTALEMENT FAN (Et oui, c’est les 80’s) et  j’étais TOTALEMENT FASCINEE par SA FASCINATION… Comment ce mystérieux personnage pouvait provoquer autant de verve auprès de ma fascinante grande Couz’? !

Lorsque j’ai enfin compris QUI était ce mystérieux MJ, j’ai alors plus découvert le côté “People“ que “Pop“. C’est ALORS que m’est apparue  l’énigmatique et surtout le MONSTRUEUX MICHEL…. JACKSON :

passé du “black” au” white” ((°°)) et qui faisait des parc d’attraction pour des enfants ..! ??

OK ! ses tubes était bien, mais,  il était un peu dépassé pour nous (fin 80’s) !

EN PLUS, MJ avait déjà trop de fans, donc… pas besoin de notre REconnaissance… me semblait-il!  (^^)

Et puis….

IL est mort, j’ose le dire! Subitement, en pleine tournée ! J’apprends ça sur le web, toute seule, et je suis émues!??

Ce personnage, que je perchais dans un univers de “Bisounours“ et de “People Attitude“ et de “FANS“… si loin du mien, POURQUOI cette larme??

Alors, une petite séance “youTUBE’s Michel Jackson“.  Et j’ai trop kiffé:) je me suis métamorphosée en Fan de MJ devant ces clips en mode “ souuuVEniRE souvenriRE“:

Donc, finalement… j’ai vu ce “This is it”, OUI nous AVONS eu des places tous les 3 (°°) (°°)(°°)

ET LA SALLE N’ÉTAIT PAS PLEINE DU TOUT, à la grande surprise de ma chère Couz’ et,  de mon cher beau-Couz’.

N’empêche que “C’était  çaaaa “!!!!

Ce film documentaire m’a permie  de VOIRE  que ce type était  un ARTiste, au sens fort du terme. Nous participions à une préparation d’un VERITABLE show, avec une énorme équipe faite de meilleure DES meilleures évidemment…  Michel Jackson est vraiment LE CHEF D’ORCHESTRE de son spectacle.

Des gros plan sur ses pieds, sur…  ses PAS DE DANSE! Il était  dans ce qu’il faisait, complètement imprégné de SON rythme.

Evidemment, on à tous entendu que “les producteurs de la tournée ont perdu beaucoup d’argent, et que c’est surement avec ce film qu’ils pensaient se remplumé un peu” …bah pas en France apparemment!

Mais du coup il est très bien ce film! On a envi de faire parti de sa troupe!

C’est en gros 3 ou 4 caméramans qui filment plutôt bien les répétitions.

Le film montre un MJ assez cool, il aime et remercie tout le temps, “Bisounours“ oblige, mais il est  surtout HYPER exigent. Alors, il s’adapte à  son équipe technique faite de décorateurs, de costumiers, de mec à effets spéciaux, de musiciens,

mais…  Il aurait voulu par cette dernière tournée, donner à son public ceux pour quoi il est aimé : son Génie!

Et non, je ne trouve pas que c’est “malsain“ d’aller voire ce film si peu de temps après sa mort, c’est un bel hommage à un artiste, à un homme qui à fait rêver beaucoup de gens grâce à son ÉNERGIE de ouf(!)

MJ à POPularisé la danse, la musique, et  l’image, et je l’en remercie! (^^) C’est un acrobate, un clown, un cracheur de feu il est dans l’univers du Cirque, et au cirque on TRAVAIL, et on répète BEAUCOUP!

Vous n’êtes pas sans ignorer que cette année, la plus vieille maison de couture encore en activité a fêté ses 120 ans. Cette maison, je vous le dis a le vent en poupe. Pour les incultes,  c’est  de la maison Jeanne Lanvin dont je vous parle et j’en suis amoureuse. Je suis amoureuse d’Alber Elbaz et je suis amoureuse de cette adresse mythique dont la simple évocation pourrait contrarier mon banquier et me mettre sur la longue et triste liste des interdits bancaires, le 22, Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Si vous aimez la mode vous saurez qu’il y a parfois des choses qui vous mettent dans un état tel que vous en avez presque honte. Une excitation indescriptible, des émotions inexplicables, une boule au ventre, un frisson et c’est cela que j’appelle la mode. C’est parfois un peu extrême et c’est tout ce que l’on aime. Alber a réveillé toutes ces émotions en moi, car ce défilé, je vous le jure c’était une explosion de plaisir pour les yeux …

Ainsi, si comme moi vous n’étiez pas au défilé (pauvre de nous), voilà ce que vous avez raté. Comme d’habitude, Alber Elbaz nous a sorti le grand jeu de technicité absolument simple, de glamour absolument élégant avec des drapés époustouflants, des matières étonnantes et des couleurs détonantes. Du rose, du pêche, du vermillon entre autres robes noires qui paraîtraient presque colorées, des sequins qui se parent de milles feux et tous ça de la manière la plus évidente qui soit… Je suis restée le souffle coupée, bouche bée, ébahie par sa géniale inspiration.

Et c’est donc grâce à Lanvin que nous serons ce printemps coquines et mutines, chics et fatales bref nous serons femmes dans toutes nos contradictions. Merci Alber!!! Et comme les mots ne valent rien dans la fashion sphère je vous laisse découvrir mes looks coups de coeur ….

My grandma’s cat is pretty stupid.  It plays with pen caps like some kind of mindless idiot.  It pretends the caps are its children or something, because it gets really loud and makes whiny mom noises.  It paws at them for hours and looks down at them like it’s saying, “I won’t ever let anyone hurt you.”  It won’t shut up about those caps.

Whenever you walk close to the kitchen drawer where the pens are kept, the cat goes buck wild, jumping all over the place and everything.  She makes this noise like a cat version of howling.  She can’t even control herself.

All her racket really gets to you, so you give her a pen cap, and then she’s off to making those weird mom noises.  It’s fascinating at first because of all the noise and the flipping out, but then you can’t talk to it about why it does that stuff, so what’s the point in being fascinated?

The thing that ends up being fascinating is that people try to ask the cat why it does what it does with the caps.  I ask my grandma why she keeps talking to the cat, but all she says is that the cat is fascinating.  I tell her I don’t think it’s that fascinating, and she tells me I would if I didn’t think about it so much.  But then I’m thinking, thinking is what causes fascination, so I don’t even know what she’s talking about.

I walk into the kitchen, and the cat gets all crazy when I walk by the pen drawer, and all I can think is that my grandma thinks the cat is a person.  That’s got to be it.  Why else would she talk to it, unless she’s really just talking to herself?

Var i biffen i går med Helene og se vores barndomshelts sidste minder. Michael jackson ” This is it”. Har ikke lyttet til hans musik op gennem mine teenageår, men fik fuldstændig samme følelse som jeg fik første gang jeg hørte hans musik og oplevede hans dans. Jeg kunne slet ikke sidde stille!

Jeg fik mange flere følelser frem ved at se filmen end jeg kunne drømme om. Bare hans dans får mig til at føle at det er det jeg selv er skabt til. Jeg får lyst til at danse igen og optræde! The way you make me feel

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole is a tabloid fixture in the United Kingdom, thanks to her marriage to the soccer star Ashley Cole and her role as a judge alongside Simon Cowell on the TV ratings topper “The X Factor.” She’s also a model for the cosmetics brand L’Oreal and still a member of Girls Aloud, which has enjoyed 20 U.K. top 10 hit singles since 2002.

At the moment, though, the focus is on Cole the solo star. Her debut single, “Fight for This Love” (Fascination/Polydor), entered the Official Charts Company listing this week at No. 1 with sales of 293,000 copies, according to the OCC. Cole performed the track October 18 on “The X Factor,” with U.K. network ITV1 claiming an audience of 9.3 million viewers. The biggest-selling single of 2009 to date, it preceded the October 26 release of Cole’s debut album, “Three Words.”

Polydor U.K. president Ferdy Unger-Hamilton predicts first-week sales of 120,000-150,000 copies for the album, which he expects to produce “at least four” U.K. singles. The next one, due before Christmas, is the title track.

It was co-written by Cole with session guitarist George Pajon and the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am, who also produced and duets on it.

The title track will be followed in early 2010 by a third single, “Parachute.” The album will roll out internationally early next year as well, starting with Europe, Unger-Hamilton said. A U.S. release through Interscope will follow at an as-yet-unspecified date.

The U.K. campaign involved a heavy online factor: Cole conducted a live video Web chat on MySpace; users of social networking site Bebo were offered a chance to interview the singer using Twitter to ask her questions.

At the market-leading retailer HMV, head of music Rudy Osorio reported that during the latest sales week the album has been “outselling its closest rivals by a margin of nearly two to one.” Cole, he says, “has a fantastically broad demographic appeal: kids, moms and dads all like her, as do guys and girls. We always felt this would be one of the best sellers of the Christmas period.”

As a member of Girls Aloud, the wife of England footballer Ashley Cole and a judge on the primetime talent show The X Factor, Cheryl Cole has little to worry about on the public profile front. But for an artist whose reputation would seem to rely so much on media exposure, Cole’s debut solo album Three Words, released today (Monday) through Fascination, proves surprisingly private.
 
“I love the quirkiness of what Girls Aloud do,” she says. “But I always knew that if I was going to make a solo record it had to be one I’d play in the house. It had to be personal.”

Polydor president Ferdy Unger-Hamilton, who A&Red the project, was also keen that the new album should not merely offer Girls Aloud fans more of the same but should deliver definite points of difference.

“You get that sort of dilemma with every artist who’s already had success,” he says. “But you can’t lead, you have to follow.”

The direction was not hard to find. After Cole had guested on will.i.am’s 2008 single Heartbreaker, the pair struck up a writing relationship which, over the course of six months, not only produced four of the 11 tracks on the album, but staped it with an urban pop style and boosted Cole’s confidence, too.

“I was used to putting vocals onto a finished track,” she says. “But with Will I was seeing music being made right from the ground up. He’d ask my opinion on the beats and the words and send me off to write hooks. To begin with I’d come back dying with embarrassment.”

The strength of the partnership can be heard in the title track, which is co-published by Cherry Lane (administered by Catalyst in the UK), Cole’s EMI Music and South Hudson Music representing session guitarist George Pajon. 3 Words is set to be the second single and is described by Unger-Hamilton as “a 90th minute goal, in that it came in, totally unexpected, on the last day”.

“It’s going to be one of the biggest pop songs of the year,” he predicts.

Although the bulk of the album was recorded in Los Angeles by in- demand production teams such as Syience (Parachute; Don’t Talk About This Love) and the Swedish partnership Soulshock and Karlin (Happy Hour), British writers still feature on the majority of the cuts.

Sony/ATV flew ex-pat Wayne Wilkins to London for a Polydor meeting after Unger-Hamilton expressed interest in two songs – the first single Fight For Your Love and another called Rain On Me, both of which Wilkins co-wrote with production partner and The Script collaborator Steve Kipner plus a selection of other superstar West Coast songsmiths such as Andre Merrit (Rihanna’s Disturbia), Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello (The Saturdays’ Forever Is Over) and Jive artist Olivia Waithe.

“Living in the States, we are obviously very influenced by urban music, so stylistically it was quite straightforward for us. But Cheryl really put her stamp on these songs and made them her own,” he says.

Kylie Minogue and The Saturdays’ writer Chris Braide contributed Don’t Talk About This Love – a collaboration with Bedingfield sibling Nikola – while former Craig David guitarist and Chrysalis- signed writer/producer Fraser T Smith contributed the uptempo Stand Up. This reprised a creative relationship with Taio Cruz, which has already delivered hits both for Cruz himself and grime star Tinchy Stryder.

“We heard a couple of will.i.am’s midtempo tracks and thought that Cheryl could do with an out-and-out, feel-good, put-your-hand- in-the-air, club track, which would also work just as well on the radio,” says Smith.

“You only have to listen to what people like Jay-Z or Kanye West are doing to hear that urban pop is becoming more melodic. So we went for the basslines and the beats, leaving Cheryl to give the song real pop sensibility.”
